So my step dad went to Northridge Wednesday and was told he had a pulled muscle, Two days later he was rushed to Northeast Georgia Medical center and had a four hour Gallbladder surgery, a bowel obstruction and adhesion removal as well. Northridge still hasn’t gotten any better . Blows my mind

Has to be the worst hospital ever. Came in in pain. Been in my room for an hour and told 2 people that I'm still in pain. Nothing has been done.

On 3/15/16 my husband waited over an hour for emergency care even after a patient with chest pain was seen why?My husband blood pressure was 160/120 was refused medicine for it why? Was told by a nurse that he was not there to be treated for his high b/p. my son had to go back home to get his medication Why?. My husband fell on a stick that went into his leg the nurses also did not give him any pain medication when my son told them he was asking for it Why? The wound was not cleaned in over an hour why?We live in commerce where the hospital is but my son drive over 30 miles to a Athens Hospital.so my husband could get treatment .We have insurance.I am not going to say the hospital as a whole was UNPROFESSIONAL,UNCARING,UNKIND and with NO COMPASSION today but the nurses and that Doctor in the ER should be a shame to call them self Doctor? or Nurse?.I feel sorry for the people in the community if they get sick.I did not want to give a star but it is the only way I can post this.

THEY ARE ONLY GETTING 1 STAR BC I HAD TO DO IT. MY BF WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE HERE BC OF BACK PAIN AND COULD NOT WALK. THE VERY FIRST NURSE WE COME ACROSS AFTER REGISTERING EITHER WAS HAVING A BAD DAY OR A RACIST BC SHE GOT AN ATTITUDE WITH HIM IN A WHEELCHAIR TELLING HIM HE NEEDED TO GET UP AND WALK. WHY WHEN HE WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR AND HAD TO COME IN BY STRETCHER VIA EMS. SO I HAD OUR 2 YR OLD WITH US AND OUR 10 MONTH OLD WITH US, WELL THE 2 YR OLD STARTED CRYING BC HE WANTED HIS DAD BUT WERENT ALLOWED TO GO BACK RIGHT THEN. THIS SAME NURSE WE JUST ENCOUNTERED THEN PROCEEDED TO COME BACK OUT AND TELL ME THAT WE NEEDED TO LEAVE AND COULDNT BE THERE BC OF HIS CRYING. NOW LETS NOT MENTION ITS OVER 80 DEGREES OUTSIDE, IM 9 MONTHS PREGNANT AND NO AIR IN OUR CAR BUT SURE WE WILL GO OUTSIDE. BUT THEN WANTED TO SAY THAT IF I COULDN'T CONTROL MY 2 YR OLD CRYING WE COULDN'T BE THERE PERIOD! NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I OR MY CHILDREN BEEN TREATED THAT WAY AT A MEDICAL CENTER. A SMALL CHILD CRIES, WHAT IF HE WAS THE PATIENT IN THE BACK BEING SEEN CRYING THEY WOULD MAKE US LEAVE THEN TOO?? BC THEIR IS OTHER SICK PEOPLE THERE? SO NEEDLESS TO SAY THE DIRECTOR OF THE HOSPITAL HAS BEEN CALLED, THE DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY ROOM HAS BEEN CALLED BOTH LEAVING MESSAGES AND IF I DONT HEAR ANYTHING BACK TOMORROW I WILL BE CALLING AGAIN! THE WHOLE SITUATION WAS BEYOND UNCALLED FOR AND BEYOND RUDE IN MY OPINION. AND SAD THING IS THIS REVIEW IS JUST BASED ON THE FIRST 15 MINS OF EXPERIENCING THIS PLACE FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!!

My wife had to come in with a sprained ankle and torn ligaments, foot was swollen the size of a softball, screaming in pain. She also had fallen into a large patch of poison ivy during her ankle accident. We get in and after waiting and x-rays etc Dr. Sam G Amporful prescribed her ibuprofen for the pain. We explained to him that she was in excruciating pain and this is not something that just goes away, she also is a stay at home mommy of two, so he changed the prescription to tramadol.. I tried speaking with him to get something that might actually help the pain and he was very rude and condescending. We are not drug users trying to get pain killers, heck we don't even smoke or drink. Horrible experience, this is a serious foot injury. She won't be able to walk without crutches for weeks. Don't go here, just go to Athens. I'm so upset and my wife is in severe pain.

This is the closest emergency room to my home. I've been here 3 times and each time I waited well over an hour. Once for crushing my right foot, once for possible breast cancer and another time for my foot. Required surgery for the first thing. They were far from gentle and were rude. My possible breast cancer, they poked me once then sent me to a specialist... wanted to charge $200 for "advice" to see a specialist. Then I had 1 xray done on my foot again, they charged me $800 then claimed they had it "written off" come to find out I'm now on a debt collector list and my credit plummeted..

Do NOT come here for a medical emergency...go to NORTHEAST GEORGIA!!!!! You have been warned! I am sort of new to the area (originally from Atlanta, lived in Gainesville for a while before moving to Commerce) A family member of mine works at a nearby hospital. They warned me when I moved here NOT to go to Northridge in an emergency. I didn't listen. BIG MISTAKE! My husband had an emergency, so I drove him there (it is less than two miles away) I won't say what the emergency was for personal reasons. In fact I won't go into any gory details, but my husband could have died from it. He was in pain so bad he was in tears.(it is rare to see my husband shed a tear) The woman there (I did not see a man, just woman, not that it matters, but they were NOT FRIENDLY) they acted like we were bothering them. When I rang the bell no one was in a hurry and they acted like I interrupted their quilting bee or afternoon soaps. We sat there waiting and waiting while the ONE intake lady was with one man who did not appear to be in a life threatening situation whatsoever.(I think he was telling her his wrist was sore) After a near altercation between me and these woman who refused to get off their fat arses to help my husband while I waited to give his insurance info to the intake lady (who I never got to see because she stayed with this one guy forever) before they would even take him back...We finally jumped in the car and drive to Northeast Georgia where they treated him like it was an emergency.(it turned out it was life threatening and he was hospitalized for several days) NEVER AGAIN! Next time we will call an ambulance to Northeast GA. In the time we waited (wasted) we could have made it to Northeast GA anyway. He could have DIED waiting. The ambulance could have stabilized him during the ride. I thought I was doing him a favor getting him somewhere as fast as possible, but I should have listened to what I was told. Take it from me DO NOT GO TO NORTHRIDGE FOR AN EMERGENCY! TELL THE AMBULANCE TO GO TO NORTHEAST GA! The staff at Northridge are rude and do not respond quickly.

Angela Williamson

I grew up in Gainesville so I know NE Georgia Medical Center well but now I live in Maysville so I want to do everything I can locally. I have been to Northridge emergency room twice and have been getting mammograms for the past 6 years there as well. All of my experiences have been excellent. All emergency rooms have a wait time so you have to be patient although at the times I went, my wait time was minimal.

DR. ROBERT MITCHELL IS A TOTAL AND COMPLETE IDIOT!!! Every time we've seen him we've had to go for second opinions, he's nothing more than a pill pusher. Also, if you don't have insurance, forget getting any kind of service from this place. Northridge is still BJC, even with the different name. This hospital isn't suitable to die in.

Alex Moore

The worst hospital I’ve ever been to. Everybody loves to just sit on their ass and type away at a computer but once you ask them for something for a headache they laugh and just kee typing. I definitely know if you are needing help DONT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SIT FOREVER AND DIE. That’s all this hospital is good for.

Tim Whisnant

Longest wait and rudest people i have ever came in contact with. Went there and receptionist couldn't even put my orders in correct. Come on people its your job.

Sonya Tucker

Terrible, took my sister who is handicapped because of a fall w her ankle , knew it was sprained or broken.. called before contacting ambulance to make sure they could treat and keep for the night because she cannot stand. The ER nurse assured me they could treat ,have dr. ( this was @ 6:30 pm when I called!) And keep for the night.. ( it was the closest hospital! ) She had a fracture and the Dr said they could not treat or keep for the night because no orthopedic dr came there?? Opposite of what I was told from the ER on phone .. had to make another trip by ambulance to Piedmont.. (my sisters blood pressure by that time had spiked to 200 ) ! which was totally unnecessary if Northeast had told me in 1st place! I will be calling the administrator.. what’s the use in this hospital if they can’t help a fracture .

Jonathan Joiner

If I couks give negative stars I would!! Waited 3 hours for perscriptions and DISCHARGE PAPERS!!! No signature needed. Nothing. Except the last person in charge of printing and walking then to the room. Thank you Banks Co. for apparently spending county money elsewhere. Staff of this hospital this is to you: the people that enter your doors are in need of help. That doesnt mean that we dont have any other things going on that are needing to be taken care of. You desperately need to change your attitudes and pick up the pace. I would not recommend this building for anything else than parking. The people are unfriendly ,unwilling ,and unhelpful in the worst imaginable way. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

New update: This place is a joke! I would give it less then a star if i could. It's very sad that this hospital is running!! I had to get my 3 year old daughter to the closest Emergency Room. Unfortunately that was Northridge in Commerce. Her symptoms where... Right ankle was swollen and painful(she never fell or hurt her leg), she had a rash on her bottom down her legs that looked like horrible horrible brusing, no bites nor was bitten, throwing up, rash on face. The idiot docor named Robert Mitchell looked at my daughter for a quick 2 minutes and said it was chigger bites. He ordered a steroid shot and blood work. Thank goodness it was shift change. I knew the last doctor was wrong in his diagnosis so a new doctor came in to check her. The new doctor ordered an x-ray immediately and in the end diagnosed her with facial dermatitis (face rash) and a sprained ankle. Two days later I had to rush her to Athens Regional Urgent care because her eyes and right wrist began to swell horribly. They rushed us to Athens Regional and she was immediately diagnosed with Glomerulonephritis due to Henoch-Schönlein purpura. Meaning, my 3 year old was having a HORRIBLE reaction to a virus and the blood vessels in her legs, bottom, lower stomach, and feet were swollen and bursting causing the brusing. Her Kidneys are inflammed because of this. She had every symptom pointing to this and just because "Dr." Mitchell couldn't figure it out he decided to give her a BS diagnosis. Another complaint: a while back...My boyfriend was in the Emergency room because he hurt his foot at work. They put him in the same room to be checked out with another possible MRSA patient. Ridiculous! My boyfriend has CML (leukemia) and has a very low immune system, he told the nurse that he can't be in the room with him and they did nothing! If he didn't think his foot was broken he would just leave and find a better hospital. This hospital is a JOKE! Last time I was in the Emergency room a few years ago for a hurt arm they put me & my two younger kids in that same room with a young woman who had strep throat so bad she couldn't talk. They didn't treat me seriously, just treated me like I was just there for pills. Even when I refused to take the prescription several times! Even the young woman's mother in the room with me couldn't believe how the doctor wouldn't stop trying to give me a pill prescription as many times as he did. Every experience we have had with them was horrible. They are dirty, nasty, and if you have tattoos and piercings they will treat you like your just coming in for pills. Not everyone, including my boyfriend and myself, use drugs. When we come to the ER it's because we have a serious issue and need emergency care. I hope anyone who needs to go here will see this review. Please be careful. The staff may be friendly like all the other reviewers have said but they apparently don't have any sense at all. Why would you put a sick person and another person who has some type of bacterial infection in the same room together? It's crazy and it needs to be stopped!

Chris Harper

Better check to see if all doctors are in network before you go to emergency room or hospital no matter where you go.

Alex Meyers

I came into the hospital because I was having throat spasms and a painful swollen lump under an incision from a lymph node biopsy that was pressing on my windpipe and making it hard to swallow. The doctor walked in and the only thing he wrote down was the name of the friend who came to the hospital with me. The dr didn't even know how to spell Billy. He proceeded to completely ignore anything I had to say about my surgery, my results, or past medical history, and immediately told me I was just over anxious and got rather annoyed with me when I tried to continue to tell him things he needed to know to treat me. He ordered a CT scan anyway and while I waited I could overhear the staff in the hall talking about me in a very unprofessional manner and stating "they hoped my results would hurry up and arrive so they could get me out of there". I do have cancer, I did have a surgery, and there is fluid build up but the doctor didn't even take the time to listen to me to know that. However, even in the instance that this was not true, and it was simply over anxiety about my incision site, how does that make any difference in treating me? Anxiety is a very real psychological disorder and what you feel while having an anxiety attack feels just as real as something that is really happening. Treating me any differently because you think I'm just anxious is extremely unprofessional and can cause serious psychological harm to a patient suffering from anxiety. If I didn't think there was a serious problem, I would not have come to the hospital and wasted my money, energy, and time dealing with it. I do not recommend coming to this hospital, I don't even think they should be able to call it a hospital.

Went to the er, and got diagnosed with a uti, they didn't do blood work...a month later I went back and they did a full work up. Turns out I have gallbladder stones. And they released me in pain, the nurse and staff are all rude. Would not reccomend

I took my dad whom was having heart problems and swelling and having a hard time breathing and the doctor whom works nights treated him very unprofessional and acted as if my dad was lieing about his symptoms and treated him as if he was a problem to treat instead of how you should treat your patient. We had to get up and leave bc the doctor was slow playing him on purpose. Whomever the doctor is on night shift on Wednesday night to Thursday morning should be fired!! We was not happy with thw visit and was not treated on account of the doctors behavior. I dont even want to give 1 star..

Debbie Henry

Northridge Medical Center is a hospital that services local area residents. It has won many awards. The staff is friendly and most of the clinical assistance is drawn from larger communities. The new CEO has done a great deal to help being this hospital to date. I have used this hospitals services and would do so again .

This hospital is the worst I have ever been to!! Went because my knee kept buckling under me and I wanted to know why 2 minutes with the Dr talked more about my smoking than my knee told me to see an orthopedic surgeon gave me 2 Tylenol and an ace bandage made me wait 2hours longer then sent me home did absolutely nothing that I hadn't been doing myself! I will NOT be going back to this hospital!!!

Very unhelpful. From out of town looking for a place that takes my insurance and my insurance company asked me to call them to see if they accept and the lady who answered the phone for some reason couldn't look and told me to call my insurance, halfway through explaining my situation she hungup on me. Aweful service.

The reviews about this place are so accurate! The longest waiting time ever!!! You can go ask "what's the hold up?" and it gets you NO WHERE . Meanwhile all the staff is laughing and having conversations about their life , while you're dying in the room.

Alisa Prescott

Hospital did a great job on my Father in Laws total knee replacement.

If you just need x-rays, blood work, mri, ct scan, etc... this is a good place to go. If you need any other service go elsewhere. They can perform these test, but are unable to treat any condition you may have or issue discovered from the testing. Extremely long wait times in the emergency room, and the er staff doesn't get in any hurry to help even in major emergencies. It's like they are there just to socialize not work.

Nick Zdziera

I was traveling from NC back to my home in FL when i had a gallbladder attack on i85. Closest hospital to us was Northridge so we decided to go there. They immediately rushed me back and started an iv and within no time I was given necessary pain meds to dull the pain. Every nurse, doctor, and so on, was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable to the fullest. As a employee of a hospital, I know the effort it takes to please people and these folks did it naturally. Thank you to all the staff at Northridge.

Jordan Mooney

A nurse did not wash their hands after using the bathroom, nor did he use hand sanitizer. Ew!!! I was also directed all over the facility due to not-so-great communication between staff. DO NOT recommend this place!

karina Rodriguez

My son be one month with bad allergies , he be every week in the hospital and the doctor Amporful said he can't do nothing, he can't be put him shot every time and I'm ask like mom what the paper said when you be more worse? go back again to the hospital. I don't like him like doctor his actitud is horrible. At that point my son tell him we go and forget everything. Then he said ok I'm go to give you something strong . It's no about medicine is about look how you work with the patient. And yeah I be running to specialist allergy in Athens and we have to wait for results. But doctor like him no have to be working.

wanda samples

Don't go there, unless you want to be misdiagnosed, or not ever come out.

Kelly Marie

This absolutely the worst hospital on this planet. Avoid at all cost.

Pamela Kenney

Very positive staff who addressed mom's breathing. She had pneumonia and they helped her feel much better. The new area in the ER looks great!

Johnny And Sara Iler

Update at the bottom. On my first trip I rated them a 5 but after the bad treatment i just received after coming back because i got worse, i am having to seriously reconsider this er unfortunately. Firat trip: I was seen at the emergency room for the first time tonight. My doctor was Dr. Cook and my nurse was Elizabeth. I could not be happier with this hospital. All of the staff from the minute I walked in until I walked out the door were amazing. They were all extremely friendly and showed sincere concern and empathy. Dr. Cook is an extraordinary doctor. He was thorough, warm, friendly and he genuinely cared. They ensured I was out of pain and comfortable the entire time. When being discharged Doctor Cook came in and spent a good amount of time going over all of my diagnosises, as well as my follow up care and all of the medicines I was being sent home with and he made sure I understood everything and answered any questions I had. The nurse, Elizabeth also came in and did the same once I was being discharged. This is by far the best hospital emergency I have ever been to, with the most friendly and caring staff. The best, my positive hospital experience I have ever had. If I was able to give higher than 5 stars I would! If you ever have an emergency and need to be seen, I would highly recommend going to this hospital. Thank you Northridge, Dr. Cook, nurse Elizabeth and the rest if the amazing staff for treating me so well. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Second trip: Unfortunately I had to come back about 4 days later because the pain and vomiting got worse and the 2nd trip was horrible. The doctor just did urine on me and told me the first doctor failed to tell me I have a large ovarian cyst so he just assumed that is all it was. Did a pregnancy test then sent me on my way. I am hoping my first trip wasn't just a fluke, because after this 2nd trip here and being treated so bad this time I am starting to doubt the er. I was told by the first doctor to come right back if I got worse, which I did, but then I get treated so badly for following the doctors orders. Also the doctor I saw tonight and my nurse both really threw the first doctor under the bus. My nurse even made the comment that the doctor I saw tonight "is a much better doctor" than the one I saw the other day, but then why was I treated so poorly this time if this doctor tonight is so great?

carolyn shannon

Waited 5 hours then when I say something about the wait time I get asked to leave and then the police gets called because I asked how long it would be before I get seen. Never going back there for anything. Unless I'm asking to die..
