This is not a field trip. This is not for your entertainment around Halloween. This is where thousands of innocent people lived and died in captivity. This place represents a heinous crime against humanity.

I just want to say me and my fiance were harassed on a Sunday we were doing nothing except driving around taking pictures and doing some walking but not breaking any of the rules. One of the security guards pulled out in front of us and had one behind us and act like he was going to block us in he even stopped in front of the car for about 4 seconds maybe longer she had to slam on brakes. Then he went on she rolled the window down to talk to him because he act like he was going to talk to us but he didn't say nothing we were followed around and harassed maybe bad luck ... old buildings in a lot of history and a lot of it's not all that great but being harassed like we were is not cool...

It's so peaceful and stunning. It' a great place to explore with group of friends or family. Plenty to see, plan to spend your whole day in awe!

Palmtop Paradox

As a former patient, I can tell you it was terrible. Lots of young girls were being abused, and certain staff members (Winston... Jerry) would make sexual advances towards the teens, often right behind the backs of other staff. I am glad it's falling apart. When you're walking through the crumbling remains, just know that less than 10 years ago, people were still being abused within the walls that were meant to aid their healing.

Very interesting buildings. Walked around and took photos. Not allowed in the buildings as they are unsafe and falling apart. Security was on campus and was really nice.

Surreal place to visit. Amazingly well maintained. You can't enter "unsafe" buildings. Hard to imagine the nightmares that took place here. Milledgeville is a super cute little town.

It's a beautiful place with a truly tragic history. Don't just go "ghost hunting" at spooky "witching hour"; go during the day so you can see the gorgeous architecture and read the informational signs. It's a pleasant walk and an enlightening read, and you're less likely to run into drunk college kids trespassing.
