I was brought here from another hospital after a terrible car accident. Thank you to all the wonderful doctors and staff that helped me get better and stronger. I did not have a good night the first day that I arrived here and on the second day everyone tried and made things better. Thank you Dr. Garcia and all of the hospital staff that made my stay a comfortable one. I am able to walk, eat, speak and shower. The hospital also made accommodations for my mother to stay with me and help me with my recovery. I appreciate everyone that played a part in my recovery.

My mother in law is currently a patient at this hospital. My family and I are very pleased with the care she has received. We have noticed that the staff always seems to pull together to help one another, and we are thankful . We feel confident and trust this hospital to its fullest. If given an opportunity to return we would. The weekends are quiet and we appreciate the nice room to sit in to eat our lunch. The water view is to die for. We want to thank everyone for their hospitality when we come to visit. My mother in law is quite happy in this hospital and we are happy with our decision to bring her here.

I was transferred from Northside to Kindred. When I first arrived I remember wanting to get out of here because I was not happy. A few days passed and I voiced my concerns to administration and my family and friends. Since then, things turned around. The tube in my neck is due to be removed on Monday and I have enjoyed doing more and more things for myself. The staff has been amazing and I must say that I am much happier now than when I arrived. The wound care team is wonderful. I am able to eat real food and talk with a button that is applied to my breathing tube. Drs Garcia and Agrawal are wonderful. My nurses are very compassionate and caring. For someone who is used to doing things for herself my experience of getting sick and being in the hospital has been an eye opening experience. I am happy I stayed here because I am getting better and stronger. What initially started as a bad experience has turned into a very positive one. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

What stood out to me the most was the treatment from the nurses. They were very nice to me and it helped me to feel relaxed and confident that I was in good hands throughout my recovery phase. The physicians were great as they checked in on me everyday. One of the physical therapy staff members stood out me as well because she took the time to encourage me to get stronger as we walked up and down the stairs. I also like the daily cleaning routines from the housekeeping department. I would recommend Kindred.

I arrived here very sick and was placed in the intensive care area shortly after my arrival. I spent more than two weeks with a breathing tube and a machine that helped me breathe. I have made a lot of progress here, though I am still in the intensive care but today I am off the breathing machine and the breathing tube was removed. I am able to eat on my own. The staff in the intensive care are kind and compassionate. Rietta is very gentle and compassionate and Dan has kept me smiling. I have been treated very well and with the utmost respect. The nurses and therapists are in and out of my hospital room all the time, they are very attentive to my needs. The team of nurses, and therapists all work very well together and I continue to be amazed with all the staff here . The lady that cleans my room is sweet and always asks if I need anything. It's those little things that really make a difference. I want to thank the medical doctors for the care I have received.

The nurses are very nice and treat me very well. I love it here but I also hate being away from my home. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors that took very good care of me while I was here. I have been here at this hospital a few times and every single time that I come back, I am more impressed than before. The staff and doctors do not disappoint me at all. They are amazing! They have made every situation and every visit more comfortable to deal with and a very easy transition. My room has been kept clean from day one, a big thank you to Ms. Rosi. The staff treats me very well, with compassionate and respect, I would not want to go anywhere else, this is why I love coming back to Kindred St Petersburg. They have always made me feel very special. I would highly recommend this hospital.

During my hospital experience, I noticed that everyone was very competent in their specialty area which is something that I value when it comes to my health and recovery. The doctors were great as well as the nurses. All of the CNA's were good to me, one in particular stood out to me. She was very passionate about her job and she did a supreme job every time I needed to to be cleaned. I like the fact the that physical therapy team was very patient with me during my muscle strength training sessions and I believe it made an astounding difference in my recovery. The environmental service cleaning staff was very good about keeping my room clean and I noticed that garbage was taken out frequently. I enjoyed my stay with Kindred and I give them 5 stars.

This is a five star hospital. I came here with breathing issues and was on a respirator to help with my shortness of breath. The respiratory team helped me get off the machine and today I am breathing on my own and I am also being discharged to a different place. I want to say a Big Thank You to Edna, Mary and EJ, these are the respiratory therapists that took care of me. Arlene is the best nursing assistant I have had ever in all of my hospitalizations. Nurse Chang is also fantastic. The nursing supervisors were very attentive and I appreciate that they took care of a few issues that happened initially, everything was taken care of in a timely manner. To be honest, the entire staff was fantastic. Everyone that passes by my room stops by to say hello and asks if there's anything I need. I am very thankful and happy with my experience at Kindred St. Petersburg. I don't want to leave here but I know I need to in order to get to the next level. Thank You so much for making it a wonderful stay for me. I would recommend this Hospital.

I came to Kindred Hospital in St. Petersburg and it's my first time being here. I am very happy and pleased with the care I have received. My call light was answered promptly and my care was very good. Jerry and Sharon are very good nurses and they provided me with very good care. My doctor is Dr. Atluri and he spoke with me on a daily basis on my overall health, and for the most part I felt that he did not sugar-coat the facts but was very upfront and honest with me and I am appreciative to him. The young lady that's keeps my room clean is very sweet and nice. Thank you for making my stay in this hospital a very positive experience.

I was suppose to go to the Kindred in Tampa but was transferred to Kindred St. Petersburg instead. My initial response was I did not want to be here because it was so far for my family to come visit with me. I realized that I needed to make the best of my situation. This location is smaller but is able to provide everyone with a private room which is very nice. I only wish they had a better variety of food. The medical staff is very good and they have taken very good care of me. The nurses are sweet and very caring towards me. My dialysis nurses are also very compassionate and they are a true blessing. Thank Kindred St. Petersburg for helping me get through a rough time with a very good outcome.

We had never heard about Kindred Hospital before, and I was transferred here to get some help with my breathing. I am very impressed and thankful to all of the staff. I was attached to tubes, lines and machines and today I am being discharged with my life back. Thank you all so much. I know as I was told that I was very confused when I first arrive, but today I feel whole and free. The staff here played a big role in why I am able to leave here today as a whole person, I was always be thankful to you all. All of the staff at kindred hospital in St. Petersburg are Amazing! From the doctors to the maintenance crew are really caring and compassionate and always very friendly. I went in at all different times of day most everyday and my mom was treated the exact same way.They spoiled her and really had her best interest at heart. My mom could not use the television but I knew she would love to hear it on so the maintenance guy walked around until he found one and programmed it to make sure we both were happy I would recommend kindred to any and everyone I am extremely particular about my mom and I don’t trust easily but every time I came in and left out I felt reassured that my precious jewel which is my mom was in great hands. I would like to thank Kindred for being patient with me and helping me overcome my illnesses. I started out on the ventilator machine and I made great progress over time. I am at the point now that I no longer need the assistance of the ventilator because I have the strength to breathe on my own. My tracheostomy airway was eventually covered with a plastic cap so that I can breathe from my mouth and nose again which was amazing. I was even able to make good sounds with my voice which made me feel back to normal. I enjoyed my hospital stay because I felt that I got the help I needed from everyone. The Doctors, Nurses, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, all did wonders with me. I would like to especially thank the nurses for making sure that I received my medication on time. Once again thank you Kindred!!

If I were able to give zero or negative stars, I would. My father broke his hip and was operated on and received excellent care at St. Anthony's Hospital. When he had progressed enough to need rehab it was suggested he be transferred to Kindred. I was advised against that by friends in the medical field, but my family was assured it would be the same quality of care he received at St. Anthony's. No one should ever feel comfortable sending their loved ones to this facility. The rooms and hallways were dingy. The level of care my father received was pathetic. He had a bandage on his leg from the hip replacement surgery. That wound ended up ripping open becoming infected during his stay. He lost enough blood that they had to transfer him back to St. Anthony's to have a transfusion. NONE of that - the wound opening up or the loss of blood - was reported or noticed by the care staff at Kindred. It took the surgeon coming in to check on him for someone to finally notice. You don't lose enough blood to need a life-saving transfusion overnight. It had to have been like that for some time. Also, the wound was stapled closed, and since my father could not move his leg on his own the only way it would rip open is by movement from the nursing staff. If my father had been been transferred back to St. Anthony's I truly believe he would have died at Kindred. Everyone who works there should feel ashamed about the quality of care that is provided.

I love this hospital, one of the best I’ve ever been to. I am extremely happy with the care. One little complaint is I have waiting to see the speech lady to see if I can advance in my eating but she has not seen me yet, but that in no way reflects on their treatment or care. I know I am not the only patient here, I am a little anxious about it I just hope I can get a real diet soon. The nurses have explained step by step from my medications and their care. They are all super caring and friendly. I would recommend this hospital.

Nothing but five stars for this Hospital. The nursing staff is great. I've been here for several weeks and have received very good care. My nurse today is very attentive and professional. I have had a positive experience all the way around. My doctor, Dr. B is wonderful and she really takes time with me to let me know how I'm doing and also to ask questions. I enjoyed my stay with Kindred. I liked how the staff double checked on things before they left the room such as my oxygen, my bed positioning, and the temperature of my room. The doctors were nice to me and I appreciate the nurses for working day in and day out to care for me. I did not have quite the strength the make it to the the physical therapy gym, so the Physical Therapy staff came to my room and we did a lot of good exercises at bedside which meant a lot to me and it made me special. I like how the respiratory team made sure I wore my Bipap machine at night and checked on me to ensure I was breathing well. I also really appreciate the housekeeping department for taking out the trash in my room 3 times a day. I am very happy with my experience with Kindred and highly recommend this place to anyone!

Our mother was brought to Kindred St. Petersburg in an effort to help us cope with what would be end of life decisions that we would have to make for our mother. The level of kindness and compassion was seen from many. Every employee helps and participated with care. It’s not just nursing , it’s respiratory, rehab and managers. The entire healthcare staff works as a team to encourage and smile not only patients but families as well. In the short amount of time that we were there; we saw all of the staff work with passion and kindness and their efforts will not go unnoticed. Mary, the cna is just amazing and she was really caring and kind. I am an elderly woman and I appreciate her kindness and gentleness. She has incredible bedside manner. They brought my husband there for further treatment. He was there for over two months. Our experience was a very positive one. I was originally told he would not survive,and if he did, he would be on a breathing machine forever. Thankfully, my husband did get better and it was because of the wonderful doctors that took care of him. My husband survived and we are and always will be grateful to all the doctors and nurses that saved his life. He was not on the breathing machine when he left Kindred and they removed the tube in his neck at the nursing home. Today he is alive and well thanks to all the people involved in his care at Kindred Hospital.

My step father was at kindred in 2015 and they did a wonderful job weaning him off the Ventilator. There were many good people that took very good care of him while he was there for several months. My mother is currently at Morton Plant and the doctors are saying she needs further care at a long term hospital I am hoping Kindred will accept us. If they were able to work miracles with my step father I know they can work miracles with mother. Kindred is a very special hospital to our family we are hoping to come back with another family member.

Horrible!! I would give them a ZERO if I could. Mom was sent there from a nursing home for a bedsore which was out of control. She was originally hospitalized for three blood clots in her legs. While at Kindered they took her off her blood thinners because her INR was high which was fine except for the fact that the Dr ordered Stop not suspend. A few days later I asked what her new INR was and when they were going to giver her the blood thinners again. They said they had to check with the dr and realized "their mistake of cancelling the order". I expressed to them how important these blood thinners were because she clotted so easily. So I was shocked they were not on top of her meds. They released her from Kindered a day or two after I confronted them, before that they couldnt tell me how long she would be there. She went back to the nursing home and died a few days later from Critical Levels of Mercer and Sepsis from a Kidney infection that neither Kindred nor the nursing home noticed. One of the days I went in to visit mom the nurse was surprised to see her awake. They said she had been unresponsive that morning, but never bothered to call me to let me know there may have been a problem. I visited her frequently and they should have called me. The only good thing about Kindred was the beautiful view of the bay window she had from her room. If I had it to do all over I would never have allowed her to be brought there. The nursing home wanted to send her there insuring that it would help her and it was a huge mistake. If you are not on top of your family's care where ever they are they are screwed. There is no reason a urinary track infection should have gotten to critical levels unnoticed since she had a cathedar and a bag. Her flow should have been analyzed and measured every day from the hospital and the home. This hospital is flawed.

I want to thank all the staff at Kindred hospital for all of your wonderful hard work in helping me get better. Today the tube in my neck was replaced with a smaller one to help enable me to speak. I am very grateful for the care that I have received so far. I would recommend this Hospital to anyone that needs recovery from a respiratory problem. I was weaned off the machines that helped me breath and today the tube in my neck was replaced with a smaller one to see if I can have it taken out. I don't mean any disrespect to the first Kindred I was in before this one in St. Petersburg... I am forever thankful that I was transferred to this Kindred Hospital in St Petersburg. The staff are so friendly and very caring. My nurses are the sweetest you would ever meet. I have enjoyed my stay here and I am very thankful that the CEO of this hospital actually came and visited with me. Thank you Susan for our daily talks and encouraging words. My nurses, how I will miss all of you. Tammy, Reda, Jennifer, Jodie, Yashira. You ladies were my inspiration and I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. To the rehab people Jazmine and Ryan, thank you for helping me get to where I need to be. Originally I was at another Kindred and I was not happy there. My family had me transferred to this one in St Petersburg and I was very happy with their decision. I have a private room, the staff is friendly, my room was kept clean and the nurses are the best. Dr. Garcia, who is my doctor took time out of his busy day to sit and talk with me. He explained things to me in a way that I could understand.I want to thank him for that. I am leaving here today a very happy man. I would recommend this Hospital to my family and friends.

My love one John was brought to Kindred Hospital to be weaned from a ventilator. I want to start by saying know if there is a chance for your loved one to wean off a ventilator it can happen. John was extremely sick and was brought to Kindred and during this very difficult time, I found the staff, doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and administrators to be extremely knowledgeable and professional. The entire team has shown great levels of compassion during these very difficult times. They are extremely diligent, and timely with all of their actions in regards to care and procedures. The entire staff consistently monitored his daily progress, their accountability was superior. I put so much faith in the entire team that I felt they never let me down. Thank you for treating us with the highest level of respect and compassion. We highly recommend this Hospital.

I've bee a patient at Kindred St Petersburg for a little over two months. I consider myself fortunate to have had a great and positive experience. The nursing, respiratory and rehab staff are OUTSTANDING. Each one of these disciplines played a vital role in my overall recovery. The nurses, Linda, Caroline, Elaine, Jerry and nurse manager Ruby were all very attentive and always were ahead of the game to ensure my medications were on time and that I was well cared for. The respiratory staff, EJ, James, Edna always on time with my breathing treatments and ensuring I had my oxygen tank full and ready to go. The rehab staff, Joe, Ryan and Jazmine, what an awesome group of talent staff these people are. The entire staff always anticipated my needs and went above and beyond their role to help me have a very positive experience. The lady that cleaned my room, thank you very much. The care is excellent. Everyone is caring and compassionate. The staff went above and beyond to insure I was well taken care of. Shawna and Terry were the most soft spoken and gentle nurses that took care of me this week but there are many more nurses and nurses aids that took very good care of me I just can’t remember their names. The wound care nurses Nancy and Pat are excellent and also very gentle when turning me and caring for me. I have never felt for a minute my requests were ignored, everyone comes by to say hello and asks me if there was anything I needed. I wish I didn’t have to leave here and stay here forever because the care is truly exceptional. I would highly recommend this hospital.

The hospital is a very nice place and they have many caring doctors, nurses and therapists. My father who is a retired physician was transferred to Kindred from Bayfront. He needed acute care as he has Parkinsons and also trachea tube from pneumonia. Everybody from the receptionist to the cafeteria staff to the medical team were amazing. He had round the clock care from nurses, nursing assistant, pulmonary nurse, rehab, and doctors. Dr. Carson was the primary care physician, and he took the time to explain the situation with my father as Parkinsons is a very debilitating disease with good days and bad. My mother and aunt stayed their daily for 12+ hours every day and saw the level of professionalism. We love the procedure where the white board in the room was updated daily with the names of each person who was caring for my father. The rooms were clean and the bed was new with incredible features from the ability to weigh him to reclining several angles. They were able to nurse him back to health where his infection was gone. These times are tough and emotional but we were more than satisfied with the level of care that my dad received. This type of service is not by chance and I did not want it to go unrecognized. I hope others find this posting helpful.

I have been a patient at Kindred St. Petersburg for three weeks now. Karen was assigned to be my ambassador and she is great. I appreciate having someone who I can voice my praises and concerns to. The first couple of weeks, I spent in the intensive care unit. The nurses are wonderful. They are so professional and compassionate. They treated me with respect and made me feel like I have a voice in my total care. The respiratory staff is great as is the rehab staff. After a couple of weeks in the ICU, I was transfered to a less complex area called med-surge. This is where I was started on a more intense physical therapy exercise. The rehab team is awesome and the nurses are wonderful. Stephanie and Jennifer are my nurses today and they are so respectful and kind. The people here at Kindred really do care about me. I want to thank my doctor, Dr. Doyle. She has made it a point to make sure she speaks to me every day about my overall progress. No matter what time of day it is, she will update me and speak to me very professionally and I appreciate that. Thank you Dr Doyle for engaging in my overall progress and helping me understand all the medical terms, thank you for taking the time to answer all of my questions.

I have been here at this hospital for five months. I was on a ventilator when I arrived, today I leave with just a small tube in my neck and without the breathing machine. I spent over four years on a breathing machine and they told my family previous I would never come off. They team of specialists have work so hard to get me to where I am today. Had I not come to Kindred I would have still been on the ventilator. Four long years later I'm off, I'm eating and I'm able to talk and say what's on my mind. I want to thank all of the staff from the bottom of my heart. My therapists, Marianne, Jim, Jonathan, Yvonne, Nicole thank you. My nurses, Caroline, Jennifer, Judy, thank you. The speech lady that I can't remember her name thank you. The staff is friendly, caring and they really work hard because I see it. My experience here went beyond my expectations. I am very sad to leave I love it here. Thank you all so much.

I came here to Kindred Hospital from Sarasota. For the most part it has been a good stay. I was a very independent man and was not use to people waiting on me hand and foot. I have appreciated everyone that has made my day a happy one. The respiratory therapist and rehab people are great, they make me smile. I miss my family and I want to say I wish I could get better so that I can go home. I also want to thank the lung doctor who has been a very good doctor to me. He updates me every morning. Some of the nurses are really caring and compassionate. The food is very good. I was told this is the place to be to help my breathing get better, thank you Dr. Agrawal for helping me get better.

A very dear friend of mine was transferred there from St. Anthony's in order to address some fluid in the lungs that had developed. As he could not swallow after having a stroke, my understanding is that he was not suctioned often enough, and may have been administered Adivan more often than prescribed. Which leads me to believe he aspirated on his own body fluids while unattended "during shift change". Even the physician inquired as to whether or not an autopsy should be performed! I WILL get to the bottom of this!!!

My dad arrived to this hospital right after he got his tracheostomy, they took care of my dad very well but when he stopped being active(nodding or shaking his head) they didn’t do anything. I knew something was wrong, then 3 days after the tracheostomy, my dad passed away. I wished he was sent to ICU instead of a regular room.

This is my second hospital stay at Kindred St. Petersburg. When I first arrived here in April nothing seem to go right. I had a lot of complaints and I just wasn't happy. If you asked me back then what I would have rated this Hospital it would have been a zero. However since that time much has improved. The nursing staff, respiratory staff and nursing aides are excellent. First let me give some recognition to my doctors; Dr. Doyle, is excellent and spends time with me in the early morning to explain everything in detail, I am a very lucky man. Dr Abel, Sams and Ahmad are excellent, thank you for taking very good care of me. Dr. Hamade, also excellent, all of these doctors come in my room and actually speak to me and my mother about my care. Next I want to thank my nurses, Both Debs, night shift and day shift , Michelle, Denice and Kiomy, Asia, sharron and Stephanie, I love them all, they are so compassionate and professional, they take good care of me. My respiratory therapists; Moe, Mary, Nicole, Marianne, Maggie and Linda- thank you for taking such good care of me, you guys are great and thank you for explaining the important stuff to me. My Nurses aides, Tracey and Chyna very compassionate aides thank you for keeping me clean and taking good care of me. Everyone has been excellent. Everyone has been good to me. My cleaning ladies which at the top of my head I can't remember their names but they were great and always kept my room clean. As for physical therapy, Eric, Sheila and Charles are great. Today, Charles help me stand up and for that I am so grateful. Thank you! My experience started bad but it got better, and I am very thankful for everything and everyone.

My family was just discharged from Kindred St Pete. He was brought to the facility on life support and was weaned off the vent and taught to live his life again. Previously we were told to not expect much improvement. Weekly meetings with the team providing care and listening to what our goals were and not only providing reassurance but keeping us informed was the best part. I can't thank this facility enough for getting me to the point where I can transfer to Healthsouth which is getting me one step closer to home before the holidays which is my goal. Joe in rehab motivated me everyday to not give up and even encouraged when I wouldn't do it. It is a wonderful experience having your own cheering squad. I came in dependent upon the bipap and Yvonne told me she would get me back to my prior level and she not only did it but I no longer need the trilogy. Words can't describe my gratitude and appreciation for Kindred St Pete. I am actually wiping the tears away as my future was looking bleak and it's going to be a new year new me!!

I am being discharged today and I want to thank the staff at Kindred. The doctors did a fantastic job in taking excellent care of me. Dr' s Talati and Carson, two excellent physicians that took a lot of time to explain my situation to me and my wife. Their expertise in their respected fields enable them to do a fantastic job in helping me get better fairly quickly I am very thankful to them as I finally get to go home. The rehab team was also great, Joe pushed me just enough without over doing it to get me stronger and I am very grateful to him. My nurses did a great job taking care of me. I would like to give Kindred 5 stars for all of the wonder supportive staff. The people really made the difference for me throughout my hospital stay. The physicians were very attentive and the nurses were good too. The Nurses aids treated me well and the physical therapy team was very inspirational. I have to give kudos to the Respiratory team for working with me daily and keeping me informed about the process of weaning off the ventilator. I was apprehensive when I arrived and I did not know what to expect. Now that I am off the ventilator I also had my trach airway removed. I am success story according to Kindred, but I know it would not be possible without the support and care from everyone. In addition, I appreciate the cleanliness of my room. The housekeepers did a great job!!

I have been here for sometime and I am very fortunate to have been a patient here. My nurses are excellent. The respiratory staff has done a pretty good job in helping me wean off the ventilator. The speech lady helped me talk with a little and I am able to eat today. I also want to thank Dr Doyle for taking excellent care of me. I love it here and I don’t want to leave but I know eventually I must. The lung doctors are the best here they work some pretty good magic. Thank you coastal pulmonary for weaning me off the ventilator and continue to take excellent care of me. I also want to thank all of the staff that comes in to visit me and keeps me company. We brought my father to Kindred St. Petersburg in order for him to get stronger and eventually get him home. At first we are not sure about this Hospital but decided to come anyway. This place is exceptional and like family. We want to give a big Thank You to Drs Garcia and Agrawal. They are so special to us because they were honest with us from the very beginning. We told both doctors what our expectations were and wanted only the very best for my father. To say the staff here is like family is an understatement. My mother's hospitalization began in October 2017, she had been at St. Pete General hospital for several weeks. I was approached by a case manager and told my mother needed to transfer to a long term hospital for further care. They mention several hospitals and Kindred St. Petersburg was one of them. I came to tour the hospital and was very impressed with the hospital itself and the staff around me. While At St. Pete General my mothers doctor basically told me she would probably never come off the machine that was helping breathe because she had been sick for so long with pneumonia. However, he did mentioned Kindred St. Petersburg had a team of specialists and their ability to wean their patients from life support. I jumped at this opportunity because of the ability to give my mother a second chance. During the first week my mother did not do well, however as the days passed on, she showed signs of improvement and appeared a lot stronger. She was breathing more and more on her own and the infections appeared to improve as well. By the first week in December she was off the machines and ready for discharge. When no one gave us hope, Kindred St. Petersburg did. Their ability to help wean my mother off machines and help clear his infections prove to be a very positive outcome for us. I can't express my the joy I felt when I first received the phone call from the case manager to inform me my mother was ready for discharge. The team of specialists had done the impossible, my mother is breathing fully on her own without machines and her infections have cleared. Thank You Kindred Hospital, when no one gave us hope you came through for my mother and I am so Thankful to you.

This review is being written regarding the care provided to my father. Everything was good during his stay and I was very appreciative of all care provided to him and my family. I did have one instance of what didn't sit well with me regarding his care and I spoke with the nurse and supervisor and it never happened again. My dad was discharged yesterday to a facility of my choosing and I was not pleased with my choice and neither was my dad. I immediately called Helene in case management in the morning and even though my dad was already out of the facility she was able to get him transferred to another facility where both my dad and I could rest easy knowing they would continue the great care which was provided at Kindred. My father died here inside of two and a half weeks. He was here for rehab after a three months of illness. He had come a long way. Suddenly Infection had taken over his body and he died in less than a day. The lack of communication was awful. We had found his linens soiled several times and tubes unclean, it was like jumping through hoops to get him clean linens and new supplies. It was always someone else's job. If it weren't for insurance reasons we would not have been at this facility.

I visited the hospital numerous times to see a good friend who discharged on Saturday. Her husband and I came at all different times. When she needed something and we turned on the nurse light someone always responded and took care of it. She was able to be weaned off the life support and we now have hope she will go further. My husband got sick again this year and we had another opportunity to come back. The level of care is exceptional. The staff are really great. I would like to take this time to recognize Kindred Hospital of St. Petersburg for all they have done for me. The best thing I liked about my hospital experience were the people. I liked the fact that someone came in and took the time to listen to my concerns and they were addressed right away. It meant a lot to me to interact with people and I was giving that chance to sit in a wheelchair and be close to the nursing station were all the action took place. Everyone who walked by took the time to speak to me and made me feel more than just a patient, but more like person. I was not able to do much physical therapy due to my lack in strength, but I had the desire to do more. I am sure that will come in time. If you are looking for a hospital to treat your love one with love and respect this is not the hospital to consider. They do not care about the patients rights or their safety. My sister was a patient at Kindred and she was not treated well at all. She often was confused and therefore the nurses would tie her hands down to avoid helping her. When we came to visit unannounced we often found her tied down, no call button was within reach, always soiled and often her door was closed. This was always the case during the evening and night hours. The weekends were the worst as we knew no care was provided to her as she was always laying in her own urine and feces. How can any patient be tied down and left uncared for? Please do not bring your love one to Kindred.

The staff knew exactly how to make me as comfortable and pain free as possible. The nurses assigned to my care were very kind and compassionate. Today my nurse is Treva, she is very caring and very helpful in answering all of my questions about my care. They have treated me like family here and the staff works very well together. All of the staff is friendly and helpful including Social Services, they answered all of my questions with regards to my discharge planning. I spent several weeks at this hospital and my experience went very well. The staff is attentive and well educated, they knocked before entering my room and asked if there was anything else I needed before they left. The overall care from my doctors was ok. I wished they talked to me more and I am aware everyone of them was busy and so I am thankful for the good care they provided me. I was appreciative for my own private room. Every room here at this hospital is a private room and I had my own bathroom too and this was a plus for me. I was extremely happy with the care my mother received while she was at Kindred Hospital in St. Petersburg. Every time I called to check on her my questions were answered. The hospital is very clean and the staff was very friendly and compassionate. I loved it so much that I did not want my mother to leave and go elsewhere. Thank you to all the staff and especially to Ms. Helene and Bolivia for being extremely caring and kind in helping us with the discharge planning.

I want to thank the entire staff at Kindred St. Petersburg because they demonstrated an excellence in hospitality and care. I was brought to Kindred for further care and was admitted in their intensive care. I remember one of my nurses was Lydia. She was the sweetest one of the bunch, Dan was also sweet and the nurses work very well together to get the patients cleaned and taken care of. The one thing that I really appreciate was Lydia always explained to me the side effects that could happen when taking certain medications and I am grateful for that. Dr B was my doctor she is was WONDERFUL. I leave here today a very happy person. Thank you for making my hospital stay at Kindred a very positive one.

I have to start off by saying that I liked that rooms where private and huge. The physical therapy department was outstanding as they were all very pleasant and professional. The exercises I found to be extremely helpful with my recovery. When it comes to the food, I liked that I was able to choose from a menu every day which had a lot of variety. When the food arrived it was tasteful. However, I feel that they could improve when it comes to preparing the grits in my opinion. When it comes the care that I have received, I felt that I was treated more like an individual person rather than just someone laying in the bed which was special to me. The work attitude from the employees elevated the care from adequate to excellent. I very much appreciated it. My experience was great!!

The nursing and medical staff are exceptional. The nurses were very attentive and the facility itself was kept very clean. I want to commend the following nurses; Izzie, Irena, Kat and Denise, you all were amazing and provided me with best care possible. Please read this entire review. The quality of care by the Nursing Staff is outstanding both in the ICU unit as well as the regular floor. Top flight care and very professional. My brother, was admitted in very bad shape. Kindred did a great job getting him stable. the RT did a very good job. OT and PT as well. The worst thing? The absolute lack of communication between our family and the doctors. I understand they are busy and carry a heavy case load but not one telephone call was ever returned and written messages were ignored. When you are there in person you will get the answers, forget trying any other way.Dialysis also did a great job explaining why, and what. RT,PT and OT as well. I would use this hospital again.

I will stick with all the positives in regards to this review. I've been here over two months. My experience is good. There are many very good nurses here that have taken very good care of me. Respiratory therapy also has many good people that have taken good care of me. I am very lucky to be alive and consider myself a very fortunate person. I came here in order to be "wean off the machine" I no longer am dependent on a breathing machine to help me breathe. I am breathing on my own and with no oxygen, thank you to all the people that helped me get to where I am today. The therapists and nurses have taken good care of me. I am breathing better and I feel great. The lung doctor was good, I appreciate that he was honest and upfront with me from the very beginning. Thank you to everyone that has had some impact in my life here at Kindred St. Petersburg.

What a wonderful opportunity we had to be able to say that we had a very positive and wonderful experience at Kindred St. Petersburg. My husband was transferred here after a long illness and he has received the best care, from the wonderful doctors, nurses, therapists, social workers, everyone was involved in my husband care. I am far better off today than I was when I first came in. The doctors saved my life here at Kindred St Pete. The staff has been warm and friendly. I have received outstanding care. Rehab therapy comes around everyday to help me do more for myself, they have treated me very well and I feel very special because they listen to me and help me. Nursing and Respiratory have been extremely helpful and so wonderful, without them I would not be able to get to where I am today. My breathing has improved 100 percent and my anxiety and pain is under control. To the speech lady that has helped me get my nutrition support I really want to say thank you for caring and helping me with my ability to be able to speak and eat. I know I have been in good hands since my arrival and I just want to thank such a wonderful group of people that I have grown to appreciate and love for saving my life. I did not like the fact that you had to go through different stations to try and get to the person you are wanting to know about his condition. It seemed like I was calling a prison facility, which was HORRIBLE!!!, And the nurse who was taking care of the patient would not say anything, all he wanted to do was send me to the Case Manager, I would never recommend anyone to Kindred, and I work for a probate attorney who does this kind of work, So I am not even going to give you any marks due to the infuriating experience I had with the staff. I hope he gets my letter, which from this experience I doubt it.. And I tried to post this, but I had to put a star on the above which is ludicrous to say the least

We brought our son to Kindred St Petersburg for continued care. We want to thank all of the medical doctors for all the care they provided to my son. We have made some very difficult decisions today regarding our son, but we want to just show our appreciation to all of the hard working respiratory therapists, nurses, nurses aids, rehab and case management. The staff works very well together and they have been so compassionate and caring. We have received an out-pouring of kindness and compassion, words can't express how happy we brought our son here. Everyone is very friendly and we were always kept informed on a daily basis on our sons progress. We want people to know that the care my son received was outstanding, the kindness and love was more than we have felt elsewhere. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We recommend this Hospital.

My husband was brought from another hospital to Kindred Hospital in St. Petersburg. He has received excellent medical treatment, the doctors are outstanding, especially Dr. Agrawal, Thank you for helping my husband get better. I am very happy with all of the care he has received, the nurses and therapists have all been wonderful. Bolivia, the social worker assigned to us has been very good with communicating with me about his discharge plan. We are sad to leave here because I know my husband is safe here and I have put my trust in the doctors that are already taking good care of him. The staff is very friendly and caring. Honestly, I have never been in a hospital like this one; one that has helped me come off the respirator and now I am breathing and eating on my own. I want to give thanks to all the nurses, respiratory therapists and the rehab people. And a big Thank You to Dr. Garcia and the rest of the medical staff that has made it possible for me to get to where I am now. Today I was able to call my mother with the use of a device that helps me speak, I was over-joyed and so thankful to everyone that has made this possible. Now My next step is further Rehab and I know I have to take one step at a time. I appreciate everyone's input in the road to my recovery. They work miracles here, I would highly recommend this Hospital and Dr Garcia.

After suffering cardiac and respiratory arrest and spending 3 weeks on a ventilator I was transferred to Kindred to wean off the ventilator. Everyone was amazing from the nursing staff to all of the therapists. I was admitted on 3/17 and in less than a month I was discharged and able to walk out on 4/14. I can't thank the staff at Kindred enough for the exceptional care I was provided while there. Thank You!

For the most part I did receive quality care at kindred hospital St Pete. I came in for wound care after leaving Tampa General. I was at Kindred Hospital about a month and a week. before I agreed to go to that Hospital I asked about wifi availability and also something else that I forget off hand. Well They provided me wireless wifi in my room and also had tv's with full cable so entertainment was all set. I had a fairly clean room but I did on a few occasions have to track down a cleaning person and let them know there was something I spilled or whatnot. I was treated very well by the nursing staff and they answered my call light in a timely fashion. But as stated up above the building needs a refresh for sure and there equipment is old and needs replacement. I found the downstairs very clean as far as the cafeteria was concerned. the food that the hospital would give the patients were in my opinion very low quality at best. and very small portions as well so I was very hungry there and hated the food. This hospital defiantly has things to improve on for sure. I'm not sure if it's a money issue or a management issue but staff do seem to be for the most part unhappy there. although I have meet a few that loved working there and have been there longer then 8 years. I was lucky enough to be able to ask for things and get up and walk around and get things myself so my experience was a lot different then someone there with more extensive issues and can't do on there own. I would recommend that if you have outer choices look into them as well before settling. overall I got out of there with clean wounds that need just a little home health care to finish it up but should be ok.I did contract a lower bowel issue but not sure if I got it there or at TGH.

The entire staff was so good to me. The nurses are kind and caring. Everyone plays a part of the great care I received during my stay. I am being discharged today after being here for almost 3 weeks. I am happy to announce that I have the best care at Kindred St. Petersburg. The staff is so caring and friendly although I spent most of my stay in icu, I had a few good people that took care of me, the nurses are Freddie, Robert, Stephanie and Reita, Valerie and Cindy. The respiratiory therapist were Jim, Marianne, Maria, Jonathan Linda, Darlene, Kris and Nicole. Those staff people were always kind and so loving to me, they encouraged me to get better. Freddie and Robert are my most favorite nurses as they were very attentive and caring the most. All of the respiratory therapist were excellent. I want to say Thank you for being so kind and friendly. You guys helped me get better. My doctors spent only a few minutes with me but the rest of the staff spent many long hours with me and for then I am so thankful.

My doctors take the time to example things to me and I feel they are doing the best to help me get better.

The doctors removed the trach. I am very glad I am able to talk again. I am waiting to be discharged soon. I have enjoyed meeting everyone that has come in my room. The staff is knowledgeable and very pleasant. The lady that cleans my hospital room is very nice and I want to say that she does a very good job keeping my room very clean. My nurses have been wonderful and nice. Everyone is very nice. I miss my home and my husband., even though he comes to visit with me, I still miss him. My experience has been very good. The rehab people help me get up in the chair and they work with me to help me with my exercises. I would recommend this Hospital to family and friends.

My sister was at this place and believe me it’s not all that great that people are saying( they are probably workers there that are making the post) they were not tentative to patients at all every time I was there to visit something was always going on .. place smelt really bad!! The night my sister left she told me that she was in all kind of pain and throwing up she told nurse that something was not right she went to tell her supervisor and she went back and said that there was nothing they could do... if she wanted help she would have to call 911 herself, so she did the paramedics came to get her and they wanted the nurse to help with some fluids for her to be transported and they would not help or say anything to the paramedics! I can’t believe that people are being put in this place. My sister and I are going to take legal action on the hospital and the staff that was working the night that this took place... one good thing is that we knew the names of each nurse and aid and supervisor that was on duty! Please if you want your loved ones yo have peace and dignity don’t send them there!!!!!!!!!!!
