Awful experience the xray technician was drunk and reeked of cigarettes. She and the front desk lady argued almost the whole time we were there. The doctor was very nice man and did well to fix a dislocated finger at the distal phalangae.

Marcus Von Doom

My mother in law went to the emergency room for a abscess tooth and the hospital refused to see her, without payment first! What a joke of a hospital.

Felicia Wilford

I had a great experience at Healthmark, the nurses was so nice, they went all out their way to make me feel comfortable, I love it! The doctor was awesome also, they made sure I was ok before letting me leave!!!!

April Green

The doctor and nurses are great! But don't expect a good financial experience. Was told because of my insurance, I'd have a $40 copay at the time of visit, which I paid. My first visit was in Aug & again in Oct. I paid $40 each time and never received anything saying I owed anything else. On Jan 19, I received a bill stating I owed them $260 due immediately. And then on Feb 2, I received a notice declaring my account was being referred to a collections agency if not paid within 10 days. So I've been trying to contact the financial dept to just pay the very unexpected bill and have been unable to reach them for 2 days (they're only there M-F 8-4 and apparently not even necessarily during those hours either). So much for those $40 copays.

I just want to say that since Healthmark has moved to its current location I have had several opportunities to go and visit many former students who were in the hospital for various illnesses and/or injuries. I was pleased to see the care they received while they were there. I also have many friends who credit this hospital for saving their lives. No hospital can do everything but this hospital has worked very hard to upgrade its equipment and to bring in good doctors. It’s nice to know that this area has a hospital that gives great care to its patients.

Coral McNabb

Had a spider bite. They were transparent about the cost and my nurse was very friendly.

Tanell Howard

Been here enough times to hate it. Wait times are way to long everytime. Subpar care from the Doctors. You never know which one you will get. Nurses are ok. Go to Crestview, SRB, or FWB if possible.

How this place stays open other than those unknowingly transferred from accidents on I-10, is truly unexplainable.

Absolutely terrible. I went in because I thought I was having an ectopic pregnancy. Severe pain lower right side.. They proceeded to book me in, admit me, take my vitals and do a urinary test (all taking about 2 hours total) just to come back and say they don’t have a sonographer working there but they can transfer me via ambulance to crestview. FIRST OFF, if someone comes in complaining of lower abdominal pain that is pregnancy related anybody with a HOOT would know this requires a sonogram. Why book me in and admit me when I disclosed this information at the very beginning just to turn me away? Oh! To get your money out of me. SECONDLY, for those who don’t know , ectopic pregnancies are life threatening and can result in removal of an ovary or worse yet, a complete hysterectomy. So why waste my time knowing you can’t even look to see what the problem is?! That two hours you took, I could have been to any of the surrounding hospitals in the area that actually had the proper equipment. The other stupid thing about this place is that I called to have my now 8 month old son checked out because he has a terrible cough deep in his chest, they said they don’t treat people under a year old. Not quite understanding exactly what this hospital is capable of doing? It seems that there is always SOMETHING that prevents further treatment. Were not talking a cancer diagnosis , these are simple treatments and medical problems. What is the point of staying open ? So you can charge people a few $100 for a bandaid. Basically if you aren’t dying and don’t have a death wish, don’t go here .

Jessica Raico

I actually have been pleasantly surprised here, I'm not from a rural area like this. I have been to big, equipped places from over populated areas, the treatment here is much better. I know they can't do everything, unfortunately that's going to happen in a place with few people with most likely fewer insurance policies. The worst experience I've had since moving here was the Destin ER, they tried to kill me, literally. I've been to Healthmark 3 times, going again in a few minutes. I've always been taken back, treated appropriately and sent home with what I need to get better. Can't ask for better than that.

I brought my six year old daughter in after picking her up from school with a sudden high fever and vomiting. When we arrived to the ER she was losing consciousness. In a moment of extreme fear and uncertainty, Dr. Quinones, and nurses Dexter and Beth sprung into action. They were fast on their feet, and calling out orders that were executed quickly and efficiently. Within an hour they had her fever down and she regained consciousness. I could feel their relief along with my own. Too often medical professionals are detached emotionally and you feel as if you're in the presence of strangers. This was not my experience with this group of excellent people. Although they remained professional, I could feel their genuine care and concern. It made a world of difference and I'm forever grateful.

Dr. Ronald Watson was wonderful..he took time to answer all of my questions, made sure my pain was under control,he was very kind. The nurses were wonderful as well..friendly,polite and caring, again answering any questions I had. There was no wait at all to be seen, the hospital was very clean and well maintained, and I wasn't freezing because of the air conditioning. Dr.Watson did not order any unnecessary tests in order to bilk money out of my insurance company,if I am ever in the area again and need emergency medical care again I will certainly return to this facility..Wonderful job..Thank you Dr.Watson! Thank you to the RN's as well,I know they introduced themselves but my pain was so bad that I honestly didn't register their names,my RN is from Germany,VERY personable, caring and efficient! The triage nurse was very sweet and efficient too.. Thank you for making a scary painful time better and making a strange traveller feel welcome and cared for.

Tamara Pearmine

rhank you for your quick and friendly service while visiting my mom from Portland, Oregon. You were a true life saver

vbug22

We had to wait in the ER for 5 hours and they came in like 3 times for maybe 5 minutes about the entire time, and all they ended up doing without even running any serious tests, sent us home. A few days later we got a bill of $2,000. I would not recommend this unless you're on your last breath. They still probably couldn't even do anything.

My son was taken into the emergency walk in clinic at Healthmark. He woke up with severe jaw and neck pain, very swollen. The 2 women behind the desk holding down their chairs looked disgusted as it was 30 minutes before quitting time. While my son is being seen by the DR there another patient comes in and is turned away for no DR there. Strange,as my son was being seen by one. DR comes out and you can hear her laughing and talking inappropriately about my son. Not cool at all. I could hear her in the lobby. Wrote him one RX for steroids and told him to leave. They could not help him. People don't come to this clinic or hospital. They are SOoo unprofessional and don't have a clue. It's dirty! I have worked for a Healthcare provider 22 years and this is really bad!! They don't care!

Vicki Butler

I have been to this facility quite a few times and always been taken care of. However I was admitted on September4th and never received a gown, slept in my clothes all night with an iv and people coming in and out all night long. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there and have reported it to my 2 insurance companies

Jessica Williams

Dont go here they call it death mark for a reason.

Emilice Morales

WOULDNT EVEN GIVE IT A 1 STAR. This is a terrible place the waiting is horrible, was here for aproximatly 3 hours and when I asked if it would be any longer, THE DOCTOR answered with the worst attitude saying we can just leave instead. WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN.

The triage nurses were wrapped up in blankets watching a movie? What. Even. They really should update the check in procedures. We arrived at 2:30 am with an empty waiting room and empty ER, and were not brought back until 3:10 am. Knowing my boyfriend's symptoms were severe, maybe they should have paused the movie.

jacob woodham

Doctor seemed like a crazy old man with dementia. Zero bedside manner. Barley spoke words, I dunno if English is his first language.

Leslie Marie

I dont even want too give it 1 star. I dont understand how to hospital is still open. I feel like the hospital it out dated and not able to handle real life threatening crisis. I have seen Surgical nurses all suited up in sterile gloves and gowns come out of the OR and go right back inside the or after touching stuff. I worked at the hospital for a very short period of time because they was not willing to provide me with more then 1 pair of gloves for the day. A its NEVER okay to use one pair of gloves thru out the day they should be changed everytime you leave a room and going into another. I walked into the OR which was scary. It was warm inside like too warm a OR should be between 60 and 65 degrees. Not too mention the gauze used during surgeries was always washed and re used im pretty sure thats not allowed for infection reasons. What go INSIDE someones body at any time for any period of time should be sterile! Like i said i wouldnt even take my dog there.

I have never had such a bad hospital experience left here last week aftet they told me i had no pinched nerve at c6 and c7 so i left and went home, woke up this am no feeling in my left arm and the disc is literally deteriorating betweeen c6 and c7 and i may need surgery NEXT week! This hospital and staff need to be sued or just closed down you are literally causing life threaten problems because you tell people nothing is wrong, let me add that a friend went here was told they had a URI and it was pneumonia!

Carla Grahl

Professional staff. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Great rural area hospital!

Kalila DuToit

I was in a motorcycle accident, I was told it “wasn’t an emergency” because I did not call an ambulance. They did told me I should have came immediately after it happened or gone to the walk in clinic the next morning. Everyone was super rude and rough with me. I’ve never been treated this poorly anywhere before.

Jan Lipscomb

My daughter was having difficulty with her pregnancy. Very early haven’t found an OB yet. Stopped at the ER and waited about 20 minutes. A little girl came in with a hurt toe. They took the kid back first. When I asked at the desk she said the nurses decided who’s a priority. We left. Found a nurse in the parking lot and I asked how the determine who gets seen 1st and explained our issue. She said we don’t do OB here. I said the you need to put up a sign if pregnant don’t stop here. We are no at Sacred Heart. Will never set foot in DeathMark again!

ChrisBritt Kessinger

This is one of the best hospitals we have been to! The whole staff was very friendly! I absolutely loved the fact that they kept trying to diagnose the problem instead of just sending him home and prescribing meds. They wouldn’t let my 2 year old son go home until they knew his fever had dropped. I loved that they were very concerned with that and made sure they sent him home ok! Thank you all so much for caring about your patients! You guys rock! We dealt with Dr. Tanner! He was awesome! I thought that was pretty neat because my sons name is Tanner. Will definitely be back IF needed, instead of going to Santa Rosa Beach ER!

Rachel Rich

I was at the clinic across the driveway from the hospital on a Friday. I was told I had a double ear infection and was given 2 shots and 2 scripts. Two days later my face is swollen and I am in lots of pain. I can hardly swallow, talk, or eat. I go to the ER and as I am being assessed by an RN she proceeds to ask me what I think they could do to help me! I am thinking are you kidding me did you just ask me that question?? I told her I wanted her to do her job and treat me!!! She rudely tells me to follow her and sit in the chair in the room because clearly it would be too much trouble if I laid on the bed for her to change the sheets. I wait for the doctor to come in and he examines me. He tells me my ear looks good but he thinks I have mumps based on the symptoms and the way my face looks. He tells me there is nothing he can do but manage the symptoms. I am good with that and understand mumps is a virus. I am explaining to him how painful it is to talk, swallow, and how I haven’t slept in days because of the throbbing pain. I have used ice packs for the swelling in my face, and have taken Tylenol and Advil for the pain. He told me to just take the Advil and he will give me a mild sedative to help. He then stated he would give me a different antibiotic to help as well....knowing mumps are a virus and antibiotics won’t help. The next thing I know I am being handed my discharges papers, only to see antibiotic is all he gave me because he was too distracted about the tv’s being messed up and he couldn’t watch his football game. I am sorry but patients come first and while I am not dying I am in lots of pain from whatever it is I have. Patients should come first and be treated with the utmost respect no matter if you feel they are sick! This hospital needs to get it together!!! I will NEVER be back nor will I take any of my family members there!!!!

Was just seen by Dr Tenewitz, and he acted like he didn't even care. I just overheard him tell the nurses he was agrivated because I caused him more work. Wouldn't even let me tell him what was going on. Just said no blood clot and walked off. He did one little test and said it wasn't a clot because I would have pain. I told him I have a prescription from the dentist of percocet from a tooth extraction, so I'm not feeling any pain for the test, but he didn't care. I would have a lot more confidence in his diagnosis if he would have listened to me. What the heck did I just pay $1000 for? If I die in my sleep tonight from a blood clot dislodging from my leg and making it to my heart, my family can thank Tenewitz. Stay away from here at all costs. The nurses were nice though. Update: Just talked with several of my friends who were misdiagnosed by this incompetent dr. Tenewitz. Turns out, if you are self-pay, he is going to dismiss you quick as possible. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. I'm headed to Niceville to get a real diagnosis.

Bryan Baker

Worst example of healthcare ever. Nurses eating on the job, in nurses stations. Personal business discussed instead of professional,, while waiting room is full of scheduled patients. Referrals created by Dr, not completed. Waiting weeks (3-5) to even schedule specialists. (Cancer) I regularly wait at least 1hr past scheduled appointment time to be seen. Disgusting.

Trisha Reeves

Incompetence at its finest! After a 12/20/2017 ER visit we are being billed for an ER doctor to walk in the room and never remove the bandage from my husbands infected wound on his back to even look at it! Dr Galard gave pain medication (shot) and prescription for additional pain medication when my husband stated he had zero pain. When I complained to admin I was basically laughed off. Was told many excuses ranging from “Dr. Galard is not our best doctor, if you would’ve came on a different night you would’ve got a better doctor” to “he was just being compassionate to give pain medication” and “well at least he got an antibiotic”. (Antibiotic was not even high enough dose to for infection). Do not send your loved ones to this hospital!

Glenn Campbell

Its like a 2 thousand dollar bill for nothing. So the insurance doesn't even cover the entire amount. So basically they overcharge. Just imagine your a baby seal and they are a hunter with a bat.

Charles Brown

The nurse behind the counter had a very poor attitude was releasing false information on a patient everyone could hear it in the waiting room what Mumble under her breath no one's asking about the patient in the back as other doctors came out to talk to the patients fiance she she would make snobby remarks her fiance the fiance asked who he can talk to to complain about the nurse with the attitude hey was told not to worry about it like nothing would ever get done about this person

The female PA for walk-ins was wonderful!!!!!

I went to this ER with extreme pain in my lower right back side. I've had kidney stones in the past and knew positively this was a kidney stone again. I was given a shot of dilaudid for pain, blood taken and a CT scan. The doctor on duty, Dr. Lentz diagnosed me as having two gall stones and slight pancreatitis and sent me home, telling me to call a surgeon, Dr. Lenavitz. I went back the very next morning complaining about the same thing, same symptoms. Dr. Lentz was there again, he said "I thought I told you to see a surgeon, you need your gall bladder removed. There is nothing I can do for you". I said, "you could do something for my pain". I also told him his surgeon referral was out of town until next week. Besides I knew there was nothing wrong with my gall bladder. Dr. Lentz ran the same tests, gave me another shot of dilaudid but this time a prescription for pain, and sent me on my way. That night I passed a kidney stone. The following morning, another kidney stone, the next day, three more kidney stones. There is nothing wrong with my gall bladder! Dr. Lentz misdiagnosed me. He wanted me to have unnecessary surgery. He initially did little for my pain. He didn't want to treat me because I had no insurance. When I mentioned the insurance he got very offensive and stormed away. Funny how the truth hurts.

Shaddow Mixon

The waiting wasn't to horrible. You always half to wait when you go to the doctor's. My husband got an ultrasound for his gallbladder. It has been over a week and we still have not received a call. We said fine and called them. The lady was mad at us for calling and told us that it was in his office all he has to do is look at it, that was 3 days ago.

I wouldn’t even give it a Star!!! My son was in a car accident, and the windshield got him. This happened on February 4 2018 at 2 am. He was sent there by ambulance and had to have stitches on his forehead, eyelid, cheek and staples behind his ear. While I was puking in there bathroom from stress, they were sewing him up and apparently sowed up over pieces of glass, not shards, but literally chunks of windshield glass. Of course we didn’t know it at the time. He received antibiotics and when he went back 10 days later to get stitches and staples removed. They oh it looks good , just infected. So they prescribed him a different antibiotic and cream. My son being the boy he is felt something under his cheek and pressed on it and a chunk of glass came out. So then his forehead felt lumpy and what do you know a bigger chunk of glass!! Are you serious. Supposedly the surgeon is the main surgeon for the entire hospital. Come to think of it I saw no iodine on his face just blood. They never cleaned out his wounds. How can you even call yourself a doctor. Will never be back but just to show you what he got out of his face.

kristen shuler

John Lentz Jr is the most ignorant Dr I have ever seen I'm my life. This hospital does not even deserve one star. He told me as I was sitting there dying in the worst pain I've ever been in that I lied to him about seeing a Dr that I have saw on over 3 months. What a garbage ass hospital....this is definitely one the of the hospitals that will be hearing from my lawyer...oh and when the nurse took my blood pressure the first time it was 167/106 and I wasn't treated... thank u so much

Cynthia Ahrens

I was well pleased with my visit today I had a endoscopy done the nurses were all very pleasant and caring Dr tenewitz was professional and explained things well thank you jo for coming and talking to me to take my mind off of being nervous I appreciate all of you!

Keeping in mind they are a hospital so things are already stressful and worrisome. A family member was taken there recently due to a major health event. The people at the facility were as professional as any I have ever dealt with. We were kept informed as things progressed. Asked questions trying to determine what was going on while listening too us even when we did not know all the answers. Everyone was extremely caring and went to extraordinary measures to keep us informed. We came in at the same time that three other ambulances had brought in patients. A steady stream of patients were also coming in the door. I really can not imagine what it would be like for the area without the facility. While they are not a trauma center, for what they do, they are doing a darn fine job of it and I am glad the service is available. I know some were upset about wait times, but medical care is administered as it should be, in priority of need, not arrival. And since ours was one of urgent need, I was glad that is the way it is done.

Kaine Evans

This place is an absolute joke! Hell im surprised it's still open with how many people have had terrible experiences there. I had a cold and they prescribed me loratabs let's just say I left with out my prescription and went to scared heart. Do not go here

Jess Lee

If I could give this place no stars, I would. The first time I went here, it was by ambulance after a car accident. The nurses were really nasty to me. They did a CT scan of my NECK, which was fine, instead of my head! I am 99% sure I had a concussion and they basically kicked me out of the ER after a couple of hours. Would not even let me wait for my ride to get there! Then, the second and last time I went there, my experience was even worse. I went into the ER with severe abdominal pain. I was the ONLY person in the ER and they made me wait for over 30 minutes in agonizing abdominal pain which is an emergency!! Only after my mom complained to the lady at the front desk was I triaged. All the while I was waiting, I heard the nurses joking and laughing!! There was a bed available, so why on Earth did they make me wait so long in SEVERE PAIN? This hospital is horrible!! They did an MRI and told me it was fine, that I had mild ileus and was prescribed something for that. Three days later, I'm still in agony, so I went to a REAL hospital. Lo and behold, I had a freaking ruptured ovarian cyst!!! Seriously, don't go to this hospital.

Notre Dame de Paris

Worst place ever !!! they refused first help !!! I brought my friend to ER , he cut his hand and was bleeding.. reception refused, they don't have it enough doctors..

James Spencer

Disgusting bathroom in the er. Dirty and several spiders and webs in there. I think they clean maybe once a month.

Nurses were great, but unless your bleeding out, keep driving.

Little to no communication skills. Clinic cannot return calls and when they do, they are horribly rude. Had lab work done over a month ago, someone finally called me back about it, buy did not leave a name or extension to reach them at, just the 951-4500. I called around the hospital and no one had seemed to make that call. Past experiences haven't been much better. Definitely will be going to a different medical facility for any needs. I recommend staying away from Healthmark, if possible.
