Average Rating:

DESCRIPTION

You have the opinions of people who consume the services of Temple University Hospital - Episcopal Campus (Hospital) in Delaware.

Now the business receives a rating of 2.3 stars over 5 and that score was based on 120 reviews.

As you can read, its rating is quite insufficient, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the assessment is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the service, it works.

You know that we do not usually bother to place scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

This Hospital is classified in the category of University hospital.

Only 4 people in the waiting including myself and yet they had my waiting over 3 hours!! What kind of place does this to patience. These nurses have no soul. Peoples lives are at stake here and have no care in the world.

Depending why your there, service ducks, very slow and they look at you like you a drug addict trying to get something from them, not very business like

I had a seizure last night. They treated me like a junkie. They treated me like trash. I hope that haitian women gets what she deserves for being the biggest b*tch ever to my mom and I. EVERYONE was rude. EVERYBODY. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I VERY MUCH COULD HAVE DIED BECAUSE OF THESE PEOPLE. GIVE THEM WHAT THEY DESERVE. AND IM NOT CALLING YOU AND DISCUSSING BS WITH YOU ASSWIPES. I WILL MAKE SURE YOU HEAR FROM ME AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

The care providing staff we encountered at Temple Episcopal were often coarse and made us feel uncomfortable at every step in the process from the ER to the final destination in the hospital. My friend was held against his will after unwittingly signing a consent form that didn't suit his situation and which he was directed to sign hastily in order to proceed with care. The ward he was held in felt more like a prison than a juvenile detention facility I once volunteered in. A terrifying place and scarring experience. The inhumane treatment and conditions here were unlike anything I would have believed exist today in this country. The experience overall left him far worse off than before he was admitted. It was a frightening taste of the dystopic state our nation is fast headed toward.

Marc Watson

The Crisis Response Center is the worst place on the face of the Earth. No exaggeration. You cannot detox there despite what they tell you online. You sit in an uncomfortable chair for upwards of 24 hours. No bed. No compassion for what those going through withdrawal deal with. Do not send a loved one here or even an enemy.

I posted back in October Somehow my post got edited. Watch what you post!! as i had an appointment at another one of temples places after signing in i watch one girl get my paperwork and i one that sign me in said something to her Her head when up and right towards me. after calling my name she took me to the room and the first thing she said was IS THIS ROOM CLEAN ENOUGH!!!!! so be careful what you say no matter how true. I just walked out of this hospital after being treated like a common fool! First I was accused of needing a script then when I under stress cried and told them I had been abused and couldn't reach my mental health doctor and was having severe panic attacks and my therapist suggested I go to the emergency room to be on the safe side... I sat there being laughed at and talked about. (excuse the run on) I immediately walked out and am now after walking there and back feel worse than when I went. Now like the police, I will never use their services again. I would rather die. #spreadlove I am a mother and a good person. Don't know why they chose to traumatize me more. But that was horrible. I guess I was not worth being treated as a human. This hospitals staff needs public relations classes. I wish there was someone that could rectify this matter. They heard psych meds and concluded I was crazy. I have went through trauma after trauma and this is just an addition to that list. I have never been treated like this at a hospital. Not to leave out, they tried to trick me into the psych ward... Wow mental health has a stigma. I needed medical attention and they made it impossible for me to sit there. They profiled me. The triage nurse to the people in the back. The guards were the only help I saw in that wretched building.

I was very impressed with the nursing staff and Doctor that cared for my mother on the 6th floor. Dr.A , RN. S , PCT Morgan and the housekeeper Ms, E. My mother had a stroke this past year, and this past week she was very sick, they were kind and gentle. They didn't rush her or get angry with her. She was actually smiling at the end of her stay. I can't Thank them enough, for doing a hard and necessary job.

Talisia Jones

Not a good place for children needing help. Found the staff to be not relatable, dismissive, and insensitive. The entire experience was draining as a parent when you want your child to get help and the ppl trained to help aren't helping. Therapy shouldn't involve a checklist every time.

This the worst hospital EVER!!!!!! I went in with a 103.7 and a really bad headache an chest pains, THEY DID NOTHING! The same way i came in i came out !

I was 302’d after a suicide attempt, and shipped off to their Crisis Response Center... I was there for 3 whole days sitting in a waiting room chair staring at a TV, surrounded by men and women who were recovering from narcan. There were no beds available, so I sat in that waiting room for 3 whole days and 2 whole nights. Behind a glass wall, the staff watched you like bugs. Occasionally they’d come out and ask you a question. I was truly unlucky and attracted the attention of two of the male workers, who were too close for comfort. I was also repeatedly asked why I was there because I “don’t look like a junkie.” With so many people coming in there after trying to die, it’s quite possibly the WORST welcome back to the world. My experience here was genuinely traumatic.

Caitlin Tagye

The staff are rude! I've been to some bad hospitals, but this one is at the top of the list. If I could give zero stars I would. For example one time I asked the nurse for a cup of water she said "You want to leave, right? So no, I won't get you a cup of water" .. And yes I did ask to be discharged, after 2 hours of sitting on a stretcher with NO help.. But a glass of water, when it was on my paper that I was dehydrated.. Then I kindly asked if I could use the phone since mine was stolen, and also asked if I could wait inside until my ride came . and again, I was told no. I understand they see the same stuff everyday, but you don't have to treat people like that. I could go on for hour's about this HORRIBLE hospital, but i'll leave it that. I just DO NOT recommend this hospital to ANYONE. I can't say a good thing about this place, as many times as I've been there. Not one good doctor, not one good nurse, not one good security guard.. Nothing. And its a shame I can't even say a good thing that a friend told me about this hospital.

I visit the hospital because of my sister who has been sick and she needed emergency care. We got there the same time the ambulance did, first we were great by the security guards with kindness and respect, they explained the process with patience, we did as they informed us, within in hour we were direct to the room my sister was in. My sister was cared for by a wonderful nurse, Tina. She was very respectful toward our concern and answered our question and when she didn't know the answer she would find it. Tina thank you so much for making this dreadful moment easier and for truly caring not only for sister but for us. I know and seen how crazy busy Episcopal is, with caring for all kinds of needs from all type of ppl but ur professionalism is outstanding, thank you again. Oh ur hospitality also is great, I did not get his name, but he came into the room and offered us juice, water of which I was truly grateful and surprise, but thank you Sir, Carmen Diaz

So upset with temple unbelievable! So my grandmother was in a rehab because she had fallen and had to learn how to walk again and the rehab told me my grandmother had an appointment either I had to come out my pocket to pay for nurse to assist her at her appointment or I had to bring her or a family member but none of my grandmothers children never have time to help assist with her so I had no choice but bring her to temple for her appointment so imagine I just had a new born and I had to come take my new born and I had no choice to bring my new born and when I got her imagine my grandmother was in a wheel chair because she can’t walk and I have my new born in the stroller security and nurses saw me strugglesingTRYING TO PUSH A STROLLER AND A WHEEL CHAIR and they said they couldn’t help because it was against there policy but what I don’t understand is it Gona hurt you to just help me push an elderly lady to her appointment I waited in the lobby with my son and elderly grandmother and no one helped me I’m disgusted WITH TEMPLE. What’s wrong with helping someone aren’t you guys a hospital you guys are here to help us. They act like it was Gona hurt them to help me out. So upset worst hospital zero kindness and no help.

The worst hospital ever. I went to the emergency room on Saturday March 1, 2014. I was complaining of fever, nausea, vomiting stomach acid, burning in the throat, difficulty breathing. I also mention that I haven't been able to eat for days. Keep in mind that I am 13 week pregnant. The nurse asked me question but it was as if she was not even listening to me. The nurse asked me if I was taking any medication. The nurse gives me a prescription for the same medication I currently taking. Does't make any sense. The nurse sent a guy in regular clothes to give me a ultrasound with a ultrasound machine that does not work. I was unable to see or hear the baby. He kept saying the machine was frozen. He try to reboot but continue to have a problem. Keep in mind I only mention the nurse and the ultrasound guy( not sure if he really work there). I never ever saw a doctor the entire visit. One last thing. I was told to take off my clothes but never examined. Please avoid the emergency room if you can. Very scary and unpleasant environment.

Worst hospital I have ever had the displeasure of setting foot in! Not 1 positive thing to say about this place.

Jeremy Fischer

The only reason I give it even 1 star is because the Doctors were so nice. Besides that though, it was so disgustingly dirty! The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, and the nurse Sean was so ignorant and mean! He messed up putting the iv in and tried blaming my gf!!! We were so nice and he just couldn't help himself from being so ignorant acting!!! We will never go to this hospital again, unless I'm dying and have no choice to go here!!!

Karizma WKIO

I went to the hospital with horrible abdominal pain. I waited in the waiting room for about a hour crying. Then waited for the doctor to see me for another hour. I was asked multiple times if I was on drugs. They took a blood sample and my urine. The doctor then says “ looks like everything is clear”..... I was soo upset. After vomiting a few more times I asked if I was going to be given a I.V. The nurse said “no because the hospital can’t afford those”. What!?!?.. ok so now I’m dehydrated and in Agonizing pain. I called my husband to get me and take me to another hospital. I didn’t like how I was being treated. Being constantly asked if I’m on drugs plus I was told to go to my room after asking for water and help. After two hours of feeling alone feeling helpless my husband arrives. I tell them I don’t like the services and I am going to go to another hospital. Also that i need the name of the Nausea medication and dosage that the nurse gave me so I can let the next hospital know what I just had. The doctor replied “ you can go we can’t stop you & we can’t release that information without discharging you first” WOW. I insisted to know the information one more time. I was finally told. I left in pain with my husband and daughter.

Completely unhelpful very unconcerned when I called and told them I had an emergency and wanted to know if they accepted my insurance gave me no answers and kept repeating that the prices would be "astronomical" told me there was nothing they could because "do you know it's 1am right now?" I guess emergencies only happen during the day, then I was rushed off the phone because he had people to attend too, awful place, go out of your way to go somewhere else it'll be worth it

Terrible hospital you never want to visit under any circumstances. The emergency room was completely filthy. The emergency staff was unfriendly, abrupt and discourteous. The average wait is around 3 hours too see a physician. Let's get something straight here - Episcopal Hospital is a gettho hospital which serves low income ethic minorities and transient street dwellers. Episcopal has associations with a Temple and Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia. I had the misfortune to visit Episcopal Hospital last summer when I started vomiting blood from extant gastroenterology disorder called Gastroparesis. I will never go back. After a brief evaluation from the emergency room doctor I was transferred to Temple Hospital (another Philadelphia war zone hospital).

I dont like writing reviews and less giving bad ones, but i feel in need to express my discontent after a situation with my husband in the ER. First when we got there needed a wheelchair they gave me one for me to drive it. I mean literally, just want to say i am 4 feet 3 inches hardly couldn't move it. Somebody from ER came and helped me not staff a patient waiting in ER. Next i told the person in the reception window that my husband couldn't breathe twice and later couldn't feel his hands, no one listened. I trully understand that when you are in an ER you must wait for them to care for the most ill, but my husband had to have a seizure for them to take matters in hands. The most indignant experience because after that they didn't let the seizure end lifted him off the floor stood him straight and then took him in. My husband was disoriented and said I'm sorry told him honey you don't have to say your sorry for that you're sick and the person that took him in said yes he does because that tells me he is educated. Aren't were supposed to say thank you not sorry, to demonstrate we are educated. Feel really bad, my hubby told me trated him bad until he was able to speak and say he had medical insurance. I do want to thank security check was good treat and he told me the doctor treated him with dignity and was kind.

Was taken here and it was absolutely horrible. This experience has scarred me for life. I hope never to be taken here again. Absolutely dirty, dehumanizing, and scary. As soon as you walked in, people were screaming everywhere. Worst hospital I have ever seen or been in. Treatment by staff is also horrible; they treat you like a lowlife criminal that just needs to shut up. I was kept here for hours and did not even get to speak to people really concerning my situation. If you are considering this hospital, I strongly encourage you to go somewhere else.

I heard from my neighbors how bad this place was.. it's true. I can't really tell how dehumanizing the actual experience was. To sum it all up they treat you like trash... literally. Avoid at all cost. Got to Penn, Jeff or Temple main hospital. I know it seems irrelevant when you have an emergency.. but if you can hold out.. go somewhere else. You'll be mentally and physically healthier for it.

As a Temple student and as a human being, this was the worst hospital I have ever been to. The staff couldn’t care less about your emergency or your well being one bit. Dehumanizing and degrading to say the least. It felt more like a prison. I’ve spent weeks at 6 other hospitals in the state and this was the worst by a landslide. Teach your staff to care about the patients or demolish your building. They are preoccupied with their phones and lives that they disregard serious medical issues. Thought about bringing a lawsuit but not worth my time. Where is the accountability?

Lez Libertarian

Filthy, dirty place. It is definitely one of those hospitals that is Medicaid dependent. Only go there if there are no other options.

I would not give a single star. My fiance went there due to hours of vommiting, horrible stomach pains and trouble breathing and muscle tenseness. The ambulance paramedics were terrible. Did not offer assistance when he could barely walk instead saying “come on man lets go”. Then did not help him out of ambulance when he nearly fell. Got in there and checked in. Staff talked for 5 mins behind glass before answering my questioning of if i could go back into the room my fiance was in now. Got back there, my fiance missed the toilet in restroom down hall while vommiting. Nurse walked by he said “i accidently threw up on the floor in bathroom” she looked said “ughhhh , you seriously couldnt move over a few inches?!” With an attitude. Are you KIDDING ME?! Hes sick for god sakes! He couldnt control it! That pushed my buttons. They treated him as he was some drug addict when he does not touch drugs he was just sick. We checked out after they took forever with service and gave him meds to stop vommiting and an iv fluids. Sat there 6 hours feeling uncomforable and bluntly disrespected. If you dont like your job please dont choose a field working with people who are in need of your help not ignorance.

Okay where do I begin? I don't know who is the most unprofessional, the front clerks, security, the females that do the x-rays, or the damn dentists themselves! They are so rude, loud and disrespectful towards patients. I would not trust them to give me oral surgery while I am asleep, so I am going to another place my dentist directed to. This place seems like a big party.

David Roman

I was in a car accident a few months back and physical therapy didn’t help. I then was sent to pain management and given epidural lumbar injection which only helped for 2 days. When my pain management saw my mri results he said I had to see a neurosurgeon. I have lower back pain and numbing my legs with radiating pain all the way down to my foot. I needed medical insurance and got it across the street at welfare office. My pain meds ran out so I went to episcopal hospital hoping they can help relieve the pain with prescribed medicine. I gave the doctor my pain management mri , ct and x-Ray results which stats I have a grade 1 slipped vertebrae at l5-L4 and 3 bulging disc protrusions on my nerve roots causing sciatica and numbness. He choose to ignore the results and said that they are wrong and he knows it’s not that. My mind was blown!!! He then treated me as if I was a drug accident looking for a high ! I felt so disrespected and just wanted to get out of there. I will never go there even if I’m dying!!!!!! What doctor ignores mri , ct, and x-ray results and my pain management documents? He then states I have no pain!!! That doctor needs to be retrained! Schreyer md and Cain Pa must be retrained! They just wanted me out the door! U both suk !!! BELOW ZERO STARS !!!!!!!

Deanna Troi

The worst hospital I have ever been to. It was dirty, creepy, dehumanizing, and smelled like a fast-food restaurant. Some of the staff members were fine, but others were unprofessional and insensitive. One bathroom that was kept under lock and key for a large waiting area. I have never been more uncomfortable and frightened than when I was being seen at this hospital. The best news I got from a doctor at this hospital was "I can't perform the procedure, you'll have to go elsewhere." They desperately need change and reform.

My bf was brought to the er having some type of seizures. Being in a an area where so many come in with side effects of drug use. I was pleasantly surprised that they did not treat him like a drug addict. Even before his drug screen came back negative. The nurse his name Pedro (Petra) i should really go down there and find our for sure, so i can get the right name for the satisfaction survey most hospital's send out. Also the staff a lady named Marianna was amazing. The doctor was great. I was so scared and they did all they could for us. I have heard many bad things about this hospital. I was scared when we 1st arrived. I would defiantly go back

Wish i wouldve read the reviews before i went here.I had oral surgery getting 4 wisdom and 2 additional teeth that grew near them pulled out and was expecting to stay a couple hours for recovery, instead i got rushed out 15 minutes after surgery because i was able to walk. But i didnt make it down the end of the hall before i got dizzy and threw up in a nearby trashcan. They brought me back to the recovery room to get a needle and while im waiting for it to work, the staff was being so rude and loud telling the other patients who just got wheeled in the room to open their eyes and wake up because it was time to go.they were more worried about making space for more people to come in instead of caring for the ones who were already in recovery, which is weird because the recovery time on the forms they give out says 3 to 4 hours.it was the most ghetto hospital ive ever been in and im disappointed that its apart of Temple. To make things worst they told me at the consultation appointment i need 3 days off work because i cant take care of kids alone,so i took off for Wednesday being the day of the appointment and Thursday and Friday, just for them to give me a note the day of the surgery only clearing me for two days and didnt care when i tried to explain that i already put in for the time off and need the note for work. Then they only give you 5 days of medication thats not strong enough to take the pain away although it does make it more tolerable, and an appointment day two weeks away to come back.so here i am on my last full day of medicine and one last dose for the morning so i have to suffer it out until my wounds fully heal because i cant take off any more days to go to my primary dentist office.i wouldnt recommend this place to anyone that needs oral surgery.find a place downtown where the staff is nice and professional, because this place is a joke. Also not so clean.

They are the worst hospital in the world in the state and tristate area..... they talk more than do work they put other patients in front of others and they have no consideration for the patients scheduled appointments.... if I could give them no stars i would but i have to pick a start it makes me so sad that i can put no stars.. they dont tell the nurses nothing and it's always a waiting game.. wish they could shut this hospital down for good.....

I was treated for a wisdom tooth extraction yesterday by Dr. Brownsberg. He was inconsiderate and clearly did not care for my needs or consider my level of discomfort as a patient during the procedure. In addition, cleanliness of the nurse assiting him is in high question as she smelled like cat urine. I specifically asked for oral topical anesthesia before my local anesthesia was administered and he literally tried to discourage me from taking it saying that the topical anesthesia is "just a mind thing" and would not stop the pain. This clearly is not the truth. When he finally gave me the local topical numbing I had asked for he then began to inject areas that had NOT BEEN NUMBED AT ALL. I asked for more topical anestesia, and he said that the part of my gum being injected was "tough tissue" and would not be able to be numbed. However the previous wisdom tooth extraction I had with a different doctor was easy and painless as he numbed every area of my mouth being worked on and had no difficulty numbing any area especially not the inside "tough" area. After my procedure on Monday, I had a lot of pain specifically in the area of my gum where the needle was injected with no topical agent applied. Thus was a extremely different from my previous recovery where I had absolutely no pain in the injected areas. Dr. Brownsberg treated me as yet another number on his long list of procedures. He seemed more intent on making his work quick and painless for himself with as little effort put forth as possible on his part than for considering my needs and discomfort as the operated-on patient. I would never reccomed this facility to anyone I cared about at all. Sensitivity training needs to be a priority for all dentistry staff. A dentist should be able to handle the full responisbility of taking thorough and full care of their patient and handling their requests with respect.

Orlando

I work there and we give all we can to service all the patient with the best service and quality of care we can. God bless everyone

It's not that bad like people are saying the only thing I've experienced is the long waits in er!! They just need to upgrade the hospital and make the atmosphere look more inviting to the people and the eye!!! Like a hospital make over! But I've been treated there often for my asthma and the doctors and nurses treated me kind!! My son also got his wisdom teeth removed there and I had no complaints !! It's just gloomy looking in the rooms that's all ! Ty

The OBGYN here was very unprofessional. They were joking around in the hallways, chatting. The doctors are the one who are rude most of the time. Its a really dirty facility but if I need a doctor quick, that's where I go. Doctors rush you in and out, not even letting your full question come out before they answer with few words or belittling you when you try to ask a question that "you shouldn't be concerned about" just for curiousity or to be safer. Wait times are ridiculous even when a few people are there and no one ever picks up the phone. One lady had me waiting 25 minutes (not exaggerating) to try to schedule an appointment in OB/GYN. Wish I could find a good GYN in Philly but I guess not!!
