You will see the feddbacks of people who consume the services of Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (Hospital) in the area close to the state of Delaware.
Now this firm has a rating of 3.7 stars over 5 and this score has been calculated on 214 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings is very good, and it's based on a high number of opinions, so we may say that the assessment is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to write opinions when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Hospital belongs to the category of Veterans hospital.
not the best they try
It's a crap shoot. Some clinics are run well, others not well at all. I have had at least acceptable experiences with Doctors and downright Bad ones. Some were above average. There are little fiefdoms here and there. It seems to have improved over the last 10 years I've used this facility. Recently, the ER clinic left me hanging without updating me on my care/ treatment for several hours.
Poor medical facilities
No issues and everyone has been helpful to me. I was even late 10 minutes and they were not mean or the like. Had 3 different appointment there and all good.
A Doctor just walked in and asked a nurse in front of me, "What patient did I just see?" I could not make this up if I wanted to. I'm supposed to be getting surgery here in a few weeks. I wonder If the doctors will know then what patient they're cutting open, or are we just going hope for the best?
Great service. Kind caring staff. Very professional.
Traveling from out of state, treated me like I was lying like I was some sort of druggie, asked for urine sample to do a drug screen. 101 questions, Didn’t even take a look at my MRI’s that I had in hand. Here you go Tylenol/ Motrin NEXT. Urine sample came back clean
The Staff here is awesome. My father got grade A treatment.
Best doctors. On time appointments
Veterans hospital for vets
Good Hospital
Conveniently located if using public transportation. Parking can be hectic but I have found that parking is usually better in the lower levels.
As a new resident to Philly I was surprised at how soon I was able to set up a routine doctors appointment. It was quick in comparison to Wilkes-Barre PA. Enrolling was easy, even if the wait was long; and Mary Verderame is an excellent nurse practitioner. She listened, was patient, and comprehensive with her care of me. To note, each staff member of the different departments I saw was helpful and courteous.
From the Director to the Volunteers they all give their best to provide the very best to the Veterans they serve. They know that Corporal Michael J. Crescenz is looking down from the heavens above watching over the hospital named after him.
Thank you. For being here
The medical personnel at the eye clinic are pretty good if you get lucky enough to actually see them. It is the administrative staff that is by far the worse. When trying to make an appointment, no one answers the phone. Today I was on hold for approximately 10 minutes the first time I called then someone picks up the phone while talking to another person and hangs up (this has happened too many times in the past), second time I called I was on hold for 45 minutes before I hung up. Again I called (3rd time's the charm, right?) and gave up after 12 minutes of being on hold. Still no appointment.
Good place to be.
Should be a zero.this place is WORST ive tried to get care here for minor injuries and to fill scripts. They will discourage u from coming or flat out turn u away. I could go on. They should close this place and take all the money and fund a tricare for all veterans.
great customer service but no one wants to sit there all day waiting for assistance.
Over the 40+ years I've been going there it has gotten better and better.
Has gotten a lot better towards serving the vets
Thus far I have had no problems at the Medical Center. Those I have dealt with personally have been helpful and friendly.
This place is supposed to be a benefit for Veterans, instead, it's more like a cattle call. The employees act as if they are doing you a favor, and are clearly bothered when you ask something of them. One mental health Dr. named Selarnek is clearly incompetent, and apparently has no idea what she is doing. Since this is not private practice, some of the Doctors just don't care.
Horrible place. Some very rude staff also
Could be better. However could be a lot worse. I count my blessings
My thoughts are still the same just like I said about the VA this place is just the same
Big improvement in past year, wait times down to a few minutes for appointments.
Overall, I have met the nicest people, very caring, polite and goes out of their way for you! Doctors and nurses are outstanding! Care in the surgical centers, medical offices, canteen, hospital stays, physical therapy, e.r., housekeepers, Are absolutely fabulous and should be recognized for all that they do!!!!!! I've had 3 surgeries and working on my fourth, every time has been fantastic!!!!! I love my VA! This facility deserves 5 star!
I have been back to this Nasty Disrespectful and Incompetent Hospital in 5 years and the staff hired are still Asswholes...I sat with the Release of Information Clerk gave her a address in which she ready back to me and she still sent my information to the wrong address. I spoke to her on Feb 28, 2017 and she said the system made a mistake and changed the address by itself...What kind of idiots are the VA Philadelphia still hiring? I called to speak with the Director and they dont take Veterans Phone Calls...I am so glad it was only for a C&P Exam and hope that my C&P Exam is correct...Worst than the President....
Keeping me alive
Not sure about all departments but their polminary doctors are so understanding and thorough. I really appreciated the time and care they took with my father.
At a quarter to one in the morning the ER is po retty squared away
the medical staff is highly educated always ready to help only down fall is parking.
Under staffed over booked
They hired the biggest troublemaker and obviously don't do backgraound checks! This facility is biased and somebody who has no business in my personal records still has a job there. Nobody cared when I shared my concerns.
Doctors and Staff are always ready to serve you. All SERVICES SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO EVERY VETERAN. I SERVED MY COUNTRY PROUDLY WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED I SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO ALL BENEFITS
actually pretty fast on the weekends
Horrible wait times .
for the VA system this is at least getting it done.
Positive environment positive people.
I am grateful for the VA services!!! Like other reviews, they helped me from the very bottom to almost a regular life. I even went to school with there help, and graduated. 4 stars, well some of the reception staff can be a little unfriendly once in awhile. 99% of the medical staff are awesome!! Thanks VA
I had surgery on my hand at this Place . The doctors who operated on my hand did a bang-up job. However the other clerical staff and the follow up staff were the sorriest bunch of idiots of ever seen. It seems to me the staff doesn't know how to put their phones down while they're working. Also it seems to me that the staff is shopping and using government computers to do other things on company time . I went there for an appointment for follow up after my hand surgery I waited 3 hours past the time of my appointment and was angry because the staff forgot I was there...... pathetic! I guess their phones had them too busy to notice. Nuff Said. Yech .
Worse hospital I ever been in my entire life, from Medical staff to facilities, I feel like I'm in a third world country every time I need to go for an appointment. It might just be this city that hires whatever they can get from the ghettos.
The doctors and nurses are caring and respectful.
Place is a carnival
It's some Homely Chick's that work bad on the eyes.
It's a pain to get everything set up but once your all set up your good to go. The doctors try to be as helpful as the system lets them and the staff (for the most part) is supportive and nice.
Great service and treatment and very respectful
BLUE TEAM VERY GOOD!! DR GOMBINAR EXCELLENT BEHAV HEALTH VERY GOOD DR.VIOLA EXCELLENT CLINICAL PHARMACOLIGIST PAUL HARDEN EXCELLENT.....
My man is at the Philadelphia va and he is in surious. Pain in his left leg and lower back for a week and last Sunday went to the VA hospital and still they don't do nothing is this how they help vets in this city after they fight for this country then I pray for all of the people or vets of the world. Cus this is not right.
I agree some things take longer..but in the end Vet's are taken care of.. remember the VA is government controlled...I believe there are more Nurse Practitioner than doctors seeing patients. Everyone is doing their best with what they have..I doubt if the staff wakes up every morning to see how to make veterans lives miserable.. Government should step up to the plate, have personal(. management be more accountable...up the pay for everyone and get on with the business of taking care of our Veterans.
Overall experience through the years had been average at best, but sufficient for those who are able to receive the needed care at low or no cost. The worst department that I had the misfortune of experiencing just recently would be the ER or Emergency Room. The intake process was fine but once I got to a room with a bed, I didn't see a nurse for more than 35 minutes. This would be understandable if the nurse was busy but she was not. I won't go into details. The doctor was condescending and skeptical of my condition. I felt so uncomfortable and unwelcomed that I ended up walking out. The nurse jokingly reminded me to come back to the ER in the future whenever I like. I immediately went to a civilian hospital where I was found to have an infection from a prostate biopsy that I received from the VAMC. Long story short, ultimately I had to stay in the hospital for a few days due to a bad infection, received some antibiotics intravenously but I was unable to sleep for 3 days due to the persistent migraines which accompanied my iinfection. To be fair to the VAMC Emergency Room staff, it does seem that too many hospitals have obtained a reputation for ignoring the spirit of their Professional Oath. It appears that for a profession that is the highest paid of all professions, generally speaking, many have become far too self-important and cynical in a profession that requires compassion, understanding and priority to the patient.
Great
I was ok with the VA Medical Center in Philadelphia until i took off work to rush my spouse to ER. I went to ER with my spouse and they treated me like sh**. I I served my country, also. We are both Veterans. They brought paperwork in and the ignorant RN said to her after WALKING around ME, here's your paperwork with your spouse listed. Well SPOUSE is not my name. They refused to give me proper paperwork with my name on it. When I took paperwork to my superior it was unacceptable, I brought in proof of marriage and showed it to superior but BECAUSE MY NAME WAS NOT ON THE FORM!!!! It was no good. I want answers as to why they allow discrimination in the VA hospital ER when all our other doctors know we are legally married. And nobody else has a problem. People are NOT supposed to treat anyone any different especially in hospital. I have rights just like everyone else. I WANT ANSWERS AND I AM GETTING THEM!!!!
I can't complain about the care, it's good and it's nearly free for me, a veteran. The problem can be the wait time; the VA system is notorious for long wait times, there have even been television stories about it.
Philly va is staffed by ignorant, self important, delusional savage barbarians whom have breached thier oath of office and hide behind the shield of impunity and unacountability that comes from the misguided bureaucrats in d.c. who have always regarded veterans as survivors of the canon fodder of their wars.
This is a hospital for vet and their family. The brother and sisterhood is respect. A whole different environment.
Then coming to the medical center since 1977 I have no problem with the doctors I need a specialist here this is my go-to place for medical treatment
My E.R visit was the worse the waiting time was so long and the meds that they give me was suppose to last 12/24 hours got home with an hour pain was right back
Caring for those who served!
I have been coming here for a few years and always had been treated with great respect and I find everyone that I talk to is very professional
Taking care of Americas vets
The wait time here is good and the staff is helpful and friendly.
Outstanding, has great ties to UPENN MEDICAL- which makes it one of the better V.A. Medical Facilities around.
People are friendly and doctors & staff very professional and nice
Okay, this is not the most cheerful place by any means, but come on people, it's run by and for the military! Did we forget how we were always treated like cattle during our enlistment? That said, I'm not complaining. I'm glad to have a place where I can get free health screenings, checkups, immunizations, eye glasses and low-cost medications. Not to mention some of the most delicious, reasonably priced food in Philly. I go ON TIME prepared to wait a bit and I always have excellent healthcare professionals to help me once I am called. The front desk people could definitely be friendlier, but hey, you get what you pay for. Lol
Good job
This place overall was an ok visit. The best part was the doctor, she was very nice and answered all my questions. The worst part was getting my medicine, the pharmacist was short with me and rude. It also took about an hour for the medicine to be ready which was only 8 pills. The other bad thing was getting out of the parking lot, it took longer then it should've to exit the property, they should look at doing some changes to the place to speed up the pharmacy and traffic exiting the hospital.
This VA Hospital Is Horrible. The Whole First Floor Smells like Urine because the rest rooms are ALWAYS FILTHY. The Black Women who work there seems like THEY ALL HAVE ATTITUDES. You're afraid to ask them questions because you feel like you might get into an argument... The Travel Reimbursement runs 5, 6 even 7 Months behind because they're TO LAZY TO PROCESS THE FORMS... Mean While The BLACK WOMEN who work at Travel Reimbursement? Basically JUST HANG OUT ALL DAY. TALKING LOUD AND CATCHING AN ATTITUDE IF YOU ASK THEM A QUESTION... Hopefully This is my last Year Going to The VA Hospitals.. Once I Get someone to take this Pacemaker out of My Chest? I'm going back to driving Tractor Trailers and paying for my Own Private Insurance Again so I can go to a Quality Private Hospital Again... The Veterans Hospital ACROSS AMERICA Have become NOTHING BUT A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT... THE EMPLOYEES THERE MAKE IT A DANGEROUS PLACE TO ENTER... BECAUSE ONCE YOU GET CAUGHT UP INTO THE VA SYSTEM? THESE PEOPLE WILL DESTROY YOUR LIFE AND OR LITERALLY KILL YOU... I SAY STAY AWAY FROM THEM. IT'S NOT LIKE IT WAS AFTER WORLD WAR II WHEN THE EMPLOYEES AND DOCTORS ACTUALLY CARED FOR VETERANS. TODAY'S VA EMPLOYEES ARE JUST THERE FOR 20 YEARS AND A PENSION, AND NOT ASHAMED OR AFRAID TO THROW THAT FACT IN THE VETERANS FACES...
I work here!!!
They never answer a phone and act like they're doing you a favor..Hopefully president Trump will fix this...
Review of my Philadelphia VA Hospital experience I am A traveling vet heading to Newark, NJ and then on to Philadelphia, PA. When I realized I had left my insulin at one of my stops along the way. I contacted the Philadelphia VA hospital asking if they could give me enough insulin to get back to my home in Michigan. Their reply was very positive and advised me that I would be accommodated. My immediate impression of the facility upon arrival was very positive. The first person I interacted with couldn't have been more pleasant. She directed me to the emergency room where I was immediately registered as a traveling vet and escorted into a room for vitals and to await my visit with a doctor. Both the triage nurse and the doctor were pleasant and accommodated my needs in a timely fashion. I was supplied with authorization to receive my insulin from the pharmacy. I then proceeded to pharmacy and was greeted by a friendly pharmacy tech who quickly expedited my prescription. In total, the entire time spent at the hospital spanned a whopping 30 minutes. In summary, I would Rate my experience with full stars and based on my experience, would recommend the Philadelphia VA to any traveling vet with similar needs as mine. Thank you, thank you thank you dr's and staff of the Philadelphia VA for making my experience so pleasant.
they were helpful, and immediate with my care, they wer informational and caring
The VA hospital has imoroved.
Excellent staff, full service hospital
I changed my primary care from my PPO at my job to the VA last year. So far I ahve not had a bad experience. If anything, last year when I was switching everything over they called me to much. I had to use Veteran Choice for one of my appointments and that went smooth also. I ahve started my yearly physical for 2017 this past Monday (15 MAy) I called on 2 May and got y first appointment on 15 May. They made another appointment for me on Jun 9. They offererd my June 2 but I had plans that day. So as I move through this medical maze with VA being my main hospital I will continiue to post to give my honest account of how things go with making appointments and how the appointments are handled.
I have always been treated with respect and good medical care. In 2006 I went to the 7th floor inpatient detox unit and was surrounded by staff and other veterans that always gave me a positive attitude. They got me off the street and into recovery!
THIS IS A REAL POST & NOT A FAKE 5 STAR POSTED BY EMPLOYEES! Worse VA I have ever been at. First one can hardly ever to get someone to answer the phone it just rings & rings & No one will answer the phone! When you finally get someone to answer the phone & they transfer you the extension you want it's "at best a 50% chance" someone actually answer the phone there either. Their follow up appointments that are to happen when the doctor order there is a 95% chance you will ever receive an a notice that it's that time the doctor ordered them to call me because the doctor wants to see me. 50% of the employees are snotty to Very snotty & act like they are doing you a favor when asking them a question but they know they can treat Vets anyway they want because they know it's about impossible to fire them. I even through the years ask doctors why they put up with nasty staff & they all said, do you have any idea how hard it's to fire a VA employee no matter how bad they are! Compared to a VA like Coatesville there is no comparison because that VA treats Vets great & dose all they can do for a Vet & want to do it. Unlike the Philly VA medical center it's like you're bothering them. Plus you can Never personally talk to your doctor there, other than actually going in person to see the doctor there is no emailing them on myheathvet either. There is no messaging them or talking to their nurse, well, that is because "almost" all of them are Penn doctors there over across the street at Penn U you can actually talk to the same doctors. I could go on but it's pointless as this has been going on for 20 years there at the Philly VA hospital & it ain't changing, other then words that go nowhere& do nothing! You can kick a dead horse all day long and it is not getting up, it's dead! Note, don't get me wrong there are some good there too but the bad just over shadows the good after 20 years of crap!
So far it's been great everyone has been really helpfull I go in for surgery next Wesnday so wish me luck I'm a bit nervous cause of all the bad reviews but they are Penn Dr's and I work for Penn also so hopefully they will provide excellent care and wont kill me jk jk but seriously I'm in pins and needles hoping for the best prayers needed.
Promised the Gold team a nice review; they've never let me down. Yes, appointments are a must, but they will always get the job done. Any medical issue I've had, they've been able to take care of.
Terrible ER staff
It is not a clean hospital like the hospital I go to ,and some of the nurse and aides are not friendly st all.
I was at the VA in 2000 and it was a wonderful place especially for women's issues. All I want is a copy of my DD214 - and based on all the negatives, I'm scared to death to trust - I have a scar from active duty where the clown stitched my would a*& backwards, I lost faith in military doctors while on active duty and will never ever let them subscribe or operate on me. BUT, all I need is a copy of my DD214. Wish me luck.
everything
The va as a whole sucks 2-3 months for a doctor appointment and thats every time i go .. the VA is a broken system!!! I would be better off collecting walfare then i can go to the doctor when ever i need to.. it's really a shame that stuff we earn is a pain in the ass to use but when people are giving stuff in this country it's no problem.. now tell me how that is right or fair
I always see the doctor or doctors and any test they want I get it right then.
We were from out of town and were treated very well. Could not have asked for better care.
ER This morning the nurse was looking and talking to me crazy. Saying that's what happens when you have the flu. That I'm having chest pain and my fever isn't breaking. Like I'm stupid. The next was amazing so nice thank God nurse Ratched went home. Doctor was nice too. Quit your job if you don't like it or retire. Hospital specialists and staff, you guys are amazing thank you for your patience and service to us VETs. Kudos to Dr Wabba, female rheumatilogist, radiology, lunchroom, and lab.
This place cannot and is unable to do any simple tasks. The level of racism is intolerable.
This place has helped me from the bottom to the top! I'm very grateful for the help I've received from the Philly VA as a disabled veteran with ptsd. Your new life begins here!
I don't know about the Philadelphia hospital, but the Boston VA Healthcare treated my husband tremendously. I have nothing but great admiration for them, but the Philadelphia VA's office are downright evil liars! BURN IN HELL, LUCY FILIPOV.
Care n experience with Veterans
The doctors and nurses and staff are very thourough and caring. Just gets really crowded with patients at times. Seems there's not enough doctor's and nurses to go around. Often times there is a long wait to be seen
You can NEVER get through in admissions without at least 100 rings before they answer the phone. I call on a daily basis. The last time I called I waited 3 minutes for someone to answer the phone just to get transfered to a nursing floor, add that up...
Horrible
They provide great service! However, you may be there a lot longer than you think, so come prepared.
I've had no issues with the service in Philadelphia. They are aggressive in follow-up and I am please with the smooth operation of the GI / RAD clinics, pharmacy and blood draw unit. Also like the convenience of the Horsham clinic. Retired in 1999 and experienced no problems during my initial retirement physical.
ugh...
Great care to vets
Easy to find.
I have no problem with the staff I am very well taken care of
"SLOW", but they care of the Vet's.
Their very caring
Service was fastest I've ever known!
When you can get seen by a provider, the treatment is well enough. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with my PCP, he is a great doctor. The issue is dealing with the front desk staff. The worst scenario's are scheduling with the dental clinic, where doctors and techs are on their own schedule and some schedule their own appointments, so you cannot go through the automated system. It is a 1.5 hr drive in to this VA and I went to my first appointment for the dental clinic and was informed that the person i was scheduled with is on vacation, of course I was not informed about that and I was told to reschedule, with her, when she gets back. The next available appt was 8 months from then, in which she happened to be on vacation again ( I called ahead this time), so i rescheduled for 4 months later... I went in today for a routine cleaning and it turns out that the tech that I was scheduled with quit last June, and my appointment was never rescheduled nor was I informed that there was no one for me to have an appointment with. The front desk kindly informed me that she didn't work here and I should have known. I am giving up on this VA, there is only so much you can take.
They are ok with the medical care but they lack any bedside manners and don't seem to care if they are rude to their patients
Dr Coslett (neurologist) is a great doctor. His compassion is rare to find these days. He was thorough and easy to talk to. He actually listened to us! His staff was very efficient and kind. I'm so happy to have been referred to the VA hospital.
My husband had just returned from service and in the VA computer system his age was 63 (mind you he’s 23) so there was very little he could do, (he had severe back pain, and walking too much took a huge toll) we would go see his doctor and she would’nt see him because of the age malifuntion and she would send us to registration which is on the first floor and we would get down there to find them gone for “lunch” for 2-3 hours, or one time we went down and the woman was I kid you not asleep at her desk. Then we would think that we fixed it and head all the way back up to the doctor and nothing would be changed and they would send him home without x-rays, without testing, without help. This happened about 5-6 times, one time we had to go to their “ER” and they gave him a pain shot that did nothing and sent him home cause they couldn’t do anything cause his age was 63, then we went to a real emergency room and saw real help and care, (can you believe they even pulled a wheelchair out, accommodating) only to find now 6 months later he’s still battling with “patient advocate” over those medical bills that they are fighting to not pay although they are the reason we had to seek care elsewhere. They are severely understaffed, and the people that they are staffed with are disrespectful scumbags who have no respect for those who defended us and our country. They need to do a wipe through of this hospital and put people who are grateful for our veterans,
Everything for me great except appointment in dentist 6 month to cane to see . 7 th floor great doctor eyes clinic great but pharmacy suckssssdsssd
We have had nothing but bad experiences there, my husband and I we are both veterans. Last summer he had to go to the ER we went to the VA, we waited 8 HOURS for him to see a doctor, once he saw one the doctor gave him a quick check up said he would be back, after 2 HOURS of waiting for the doctor to come back, we just left the VA and went to a real ER in another hospital. VA IS A JOKE. My second bad experience came when I became pregnant and needed appointments to go to the OBGYN, they are a mess, they never documented any of my visits to the women's health to verify I was pregnant, they did not send the authorization to the Choice Programs, its taking me half day to book ONE APPOINTMENT. They hung up on me when I tried to explain everything. THIS PEOPLE ARE LAZY AND NEGLIGENT! Nobody knows anything and they keep transfering you, they should start firing people when they dont do their job.
It's a lot better place than it was 30 years ago the lines are shorter you still have some weights but you got to Mason nurses and doctors
Ugh
Always packed, not enough parking
Completely unacceptable level of service. A disgrace.
I've been to the ER here twice. I waited less than 30 min both times and received treatment I feel was on par with a public hospital.
Great doctors and nursed and staff !!!!
If not for the VA I would either be dead or in the poor house. Treatment has been great, competent, responsive and friendly. My prayers regarding my healthcare have been answered through the VA.
The VA has made strides in improving its relationship with the veterans it serves!
