Brandywine hospital, especially the ER departent is the ABSOULety the worst place i have been. . i was there tonight and they left me leave without even treating me . When i asked for a new doc, they threw me out . I was there for a 2 month old migraine and begged them to help which they wouldnt. This isnt the first time this has happend. Everyone was there was so unproffesional it was pathetic . They dont derserve a one star, they should have a negative zero . I will never ever ever never ever go back to the horrible place they call a hospital . Its been like this for at least 20 years . You would think they would of changed things by now but it just get worse and worse . U are just pathtetic and should embarrased to calk yourself a hospital

I am currently in the hospital admitted last night and I have to say Tower Health is really doing a good job of cleaning up Brandywine. New Doctors and nurses and a ton of police security presence as well as the whole beautification of the facility. Some things still need work but for the most part they are on the right track!:)

Horrible horrible hospital! Intake nurse so rude, she kept repeating herself and reffing to my injury as her own??!! "Yeah me this and my that" about MY injury!? Then I get put in a hallway unit?? Waiting for hours!! 9am until almost noon!!!? I'm furious!! My arm is still with no circulation then doctor broke a piece of a utensil or long wooden q tip broke in half and jabbed my arm with it??!!!! To see if i was telling the truth??! I have to wait until MONDAY TO GET A MRI REFERRAL!!! this hospital has been telling me false information since I went to them in 2008 about my son being inside my tubes?!!!! Healthy 9 year old by the way

I am so unbelievably frustrated with this hospital. My father has something wrong with him. Last time, he went in completely incoherent and out of his mind due to a staph infection in his spine and was putting him in a lot of pain and making him completely out of it. Yelling a lot randomly and just can't hold still. When they gave him pain meds, he was yelling in pain a lot just due to being not himself and so the nurses treated him like a drug addict and when he could not hold still for tests from being completely out of it and unaware of what he is doing, they wouldn't look for a solution to the problem and treated him like he was causing problems on purpose! My father is in his late 60's and has a suppressed immune system from a very rare skin disease. He was transferred to Jefferson for a spine biopsy and they are so much better. NOW, we admitted him again this morning due to the same symptoms except he was also vomiting and again, they are treating him like a burden and are saying he will get sent home since "pain is not a reason to be there" and he can't hold still for MRI's and CAT scans without some kind of assistance. He is not himself. He can't think straight. His anti-biotics are working and they are completing ignoring that fact! I really wish we were closer to other hospitals like Paoli because they seem to not care and have no idea what it is like to watch your loved one constantly screaming and yelling complete gibberish and doesn't even know that he's making noises all day and all night with no rest. We just want them to show that they are willing to do whatever it takes to help him even if it means to get him something like Ativan or something stronger to just perform diagnostic testing so they can try to take the next step in helping him. DON"T GO HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE SIMPLE FLESH WOUNDS BECAUSE THEY EITHER DON'T CARE ENOUGH OR AREN'T PROPERLY EQUIPPED AND TRAINED TO HELP SOLVE DEEPER ISSUES.

Went into the ER and long story short couple hours later I'm getting an appendectomy. I had great service from ER to surgery. Had a good experience for the circumstances. Glad I went to brandywine instead of struggling with a wait at chester county.

Received excellent care last night. From ER registrars, to the techs, nurses and doctor. Everybody was great. Thank you! I was grateful not only for the quality of care, but the speed was impressive!

My mother was here they rushed her out the hospital with no discharge instructions. When I contacted the Director she kind of brushed it to the side. They have all these higher ups on PCU and none of them can solve problems. They have lack of communication and nurses are rude and uneducated. I can give credit to a nurse named PAM she is excellent and cares. The other ones are lazy and insufficient. It used to be a good floor when they had a different director but this new one is worthless.

During the weekend the staff works on a skeleton crew...their service as professional suck tonsay the least I will never go there again unless I have no choice

Michael Anderson

The hospital staff really know what they're doing. No matter what I'm going through, Brandywine Hospital will always be my number one choice if I have a medical emergency.

I was involuntarily committed to the Psychiatric Unit in 2005. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had, it traumatized me for many years, even now, 8 years later, I have flashbacks of the horrible things I encountered. My blood was drawn in front of everyone in the dining room, I was forced to take drugs that made me very ill, and I am not even going to talk about my roommates. And I wasn't even "mentally ill," I went through a spiritual awakening which was not recognized by the staff, and I was not able to speak to anyone with compassion who understood me. I was just given a label and stamp upon my head like cattle, and a plethora of unneeded drugs. Please think twice, maybe 100 times before committing someone against their will to this place, or another. There is other help out there, look into holistic healing. I wish you all well, I am still healing from this experience.

I went to the emergency room complaining of chest pains thinking I might be having a heart attack and I sat in the waiting room for 15 minutes filling out forms.

I am in this hospital 3rd floor right now. It has been ok with my experience for the first three days. Some exceeded my expectations and some bad things happened they were able to addressed timely. But tonight my new nurse has not get me situated and it is now 10pm. Her shift started at 7:30pm. I am so frustrated as I am having headache, high blood pressure result taken about 7:40pm, none has been resolved.

We took my mother in for pre-admission tsets on a Monday aND all went well. She had a small problem with her labs so with meds on Tuesday, she had to have more tests on Wednesday. All was good and she was admitted on Friday for outpatient surgery. She had a problem after the surgery and was in recovery for almost 3 hrs. The entire staff, from admissions to lab techs to the Cath lab doctors and nurses were phenomenal. Thank you for taking such great care my mother.

Steve Kroninger

I unfortunately had to downgrade my 5 star review to a 1 star. My pleasant experience with Terry in admissions was overshadowed by what happened after my microdisectomy surgery on Wednesday the 4th. Everything was fine with the procedure until it was completed and I was moved off the operating table onto the bed. I woke up in a panick and sat up because I was still intubated in the OR and was trying to pull the tubes out of my throat because I was gagging and couldnt breath. I was pushed back down because I was panicking not being able to breath. They did it so they could remove the tubes. When I did get to the waiting room nobody even brought up the subject besides me for apologizing because I thought i did something wrong. I was told it was fine and I probably wouldn't remember it or the conversation about medication with the surgeon either because of the anesthesia. I remembered it all. I told my wife about it when I got back my room. She was very upset about the fact nobody told her about the incident and it was never reported. The nurse taking care of me seem surprised that nothing was mentioned. I didn't even have proper discharge instructions when I got released. The doctor had run into another surgery without writing anything up so I was given a generic set of release instructions that weren't specific to me and I went home. The next day I told some of my friends who have been in the medical profession for many years were shocked by what had happened and that it was never reported. It was suggested I contact the hospital and report what had happened. I called early Friday the 6th and was told an investigation would begin. I got a call back again later that day and was told the director of anesthesiology would be calling me back. I didn't get a call until Tuesday the 9th but he couldn't talk then and said to call him back on Wednesday the 10th. I called and talked to the director of anesthesiology on the 10th and what I thought was going to be an apology and me wanting to know what steps were going to be taken so it didn't happen to the next patient, turned out to be how my friends in the medical professional are wrong and its part of the normal process. He went on to tell me 30% patients wake up like I did. Nothing was mentioned or reported because I did not suffer any long term physical injuries or woke up in the middle of the procedure so it didn't need to be reported I was told. To him this an everyday occurrence and nothing was done improperly. All I wanted was an apology and steps would be taken so the next patient didn't go through what I did. I hope nobody does. It was a horrible experience to wake up like that and this wasn't my first surgery. Nothing like this had ever happened to me before. I know things like this happen but it's because I wasn't being monitored closely enough. He did say he would mention it to his team in a half hearted way to appease me. I sure hope 30 % of their patients dont wake up like that. To be told nothing was done wrong is infuriating. If it's true that Brandywine does not require an incident like this to be reported then they are unique because most hospitals do. And if it is true that is their policy then my opinion of the quality of their health care is they are probably the worst I have seen in a hospital, and I have been to a number of them. I will never use this hospital nor recommend this hospital to anyone after this kind of treatment. This whole review would have never happened if they just would have apologized and said steps were being made so it doesn't happen to someone else. I wasn't looking for money or to get anyone fired. A little honesty would have sufficed. I guess it was too much to ask.

The customer service is poor ... Poor bedside manners ... Poor communication....poor accountability.

Lizzy Solenberger

Took me 2 hours to get my medication when i came into the hospital. This is down right disgusting, i should have listen to family and went to Chester County. 15 minutes longer of a drive over 2 hours of waiting for your "staffing" to get off there butt and do their jobs!

Gus Gusimio

I went in for a outpatient cardiac procedure and I could not believe the excellent care received during the actual procedure. Right from the start, the specialists and nurses involved were nothing short of top shelf. However, due to complications, I was required to stay overnight for observation and that's when I hit a few bumps in the road. Specifically, I had to lay on my back for 24 hours, and the people bringing in the food, never even lowered the table so I could reach the dinner plate so I ended up not eating for my entire stay. Also, two fo the three nurses on duty were very nice but there was a third nurse (the last one I encountered) who looked like she was bothered whenevr I requested anything. Oh well, it was an overall delight to get the attention and care received with that last nurse being the exception. In summary, I'm nopt going to let "one bad apple" ruin the reputation of an otherwise fine hospital.

Took my 1 year-old into the ED because he had been coughing for weeks. We sat in the waiting room for two hours before they called us back . Once you’re in the back, we sat there for two more hours before we even saw a doctor and nurse. Now I know better and go to West Chester.

Worst hospital in the area. If you’re sick you have a better chance at living if you stay home. Going on hour 4 in the waiting room after being told the ED “has no beds”. Triaged & sent back into the waiting room while 5 other people have gone back and got beds. Pathetic excuse for a hospital, pathetic uneducated staff extremely reluctant to help.

I went in the hospital with a skeptical mind, because of the ratings I read about. But I had a very strong good feeling about my surgeon. My surgeon Dr. Freese. He was very professional and did not try to convince me of what treatment I should get. He explained my condition, and all the options and made me choose which one was right for me. I chose lemina decompression over epidural enjection. I am so glad I did. Dr Freese did such a good surgery that I was was able to stop taking pain meds five days after surgery. I am three weeks out of surgery, and I am doing very well. Only very slight uncomfortable feeling at the incision sight, but not really pain. I sleep all night without waking. The only thing I can feel about surgery is some numbness on the bottoms of my feet. That is slowly going away day after day. The hospital staff was very caring, polite, and professional. I would recommend Brandywine hospital to anyone. I would also recommend Dr. Freese for back surgery. My experience overall was Five Star.

I recently went in for some out-patient surgery. I was very impressed. From admission, to pre-op, to my procedure, and post-op, everything went just as I was told it would. The nursing staff was great, They even helped with blood work that I needed for another procedure that is being done at the end of the month. Thank you all!

Christine Denaro

Went there for an allergic reaction to peanuts. My face was all swollen and I was having a difficult time breathing. The lady at the desk hands me a clipboard and tells me to fill out paperwork (I could barely see it). My coworker that brought me went to the nurse and demanded that they take me back right away. As they were taking me back the lady at the front desk exclaimed "she's not triage yet". So apparently you need to be actually dying for them to take you back right away. Once I was back there, they put me on a bed in the hallway and put in an IV...with no medicine. No one was checking on me, no monitor hooked up. My coworker came back after returning the car about 15-20 minutes later and they still had not given me medication. I was struggling to breath at this point. I heard her yelling at the nurses too get me medication. They finally did. I was still in the hallway, no monitor, nothing. They checked on me one time after they gave me medication. Another patient's family member called for the nurse because they saw me struggling to get a nurses attention as they rushed past. When my father arrived about 30-40 minutes later, he went to the nurse and they said thank you for getting them since they haven't checked on me for awhile. If my coworker was not there they probably would have let me go into respiratory failure or let me die. They are completely incompetent. I would never, ever go there again. If you want to live, go to a different hospital!!!

Critical ER need. Received immediate and excellent care. Everyone was professional compassionate and respectful. Nurses and nurse aids should be receiving awards. I would take family friends and myself there for any hospital or emergency needs. I am amazed that in our countries current crisis of health care that so many could be so compassionate, empathetic and professional. Not a single complaint. I really hope Nurse and Nurse Assistants are focused on for awards. Thanks to you all in our time of crisis and need. So it’s 5 months later and we are just being dismissed from follow up surgery. The treatment and empathy, skill and compassion was the same as before; on a scale from 1-10 I note 20! Fist we thank Dr. David Reel, Dr. Susan Sees, Dr. Tim Fox for literally saving my wife’s life and further preserving her quality of life. I truly believe if not for those Doctors, the Tower Gastro Group, the Brandywine Hospital Nursing staff and the Brandywine Hospital Nurses Assistants I would be dealing with my loss and grief instead of celebrating a new lease in life with my wife of 25 years. We thank Dr. Sharon Fleischer and Bayada Nursing for the so necessary post hospital stay; their skills, empathy and professionalism were critical to this journeys happy ending and new beginning on life. God bless you all. Thank you!

Inside the hospital there are several medical offices which I've been to for different occasions. -One was for foot issue, the staff was fine but the Dr was abnoxious & rude. He just saw me for 5-10 mts after I waited for almost 30mts to b seen- didn't apolozige or answered any of my questions even thou I repeated, just wanted me to keep coming in for follow ups without sending me for MRI.Had me take an x-ray & decided I had an issue that didn't need surgery. After 2 visits I changed Dr & location. My new Dr knew exactly what I had without an x-rays or MRI.Had surgery and since then he has been my foot Dr. - other occasion was related to allergies-staff was fine but I had the idea I would b seen by the Dr himself, instead I was seen by his assistant that screen his patients (his own words-so he determinates who is entitled to see the Dr) yeah that's what he said. He gave me a bunch of bogus info that I knew already such as home medicine mostly, and some over the counter medicine. Not only he was rude but was arrogant. -last occasion was a throat Dr, I went there with my spouse and last visit was a pos surgery,he had the audacity to tell me while I was getting up to follow my spouse to his consult :Why I was there? Why did I need to always come in? My reply was: I want to and it's my spouse and me might forget to ask something. I was very offended by it. He can b a good Dr but his attitude is lacking in manners.Doesnt matter if he wants me in or not,my spouse didn't mind and he actually told me to come join him in front of the dr. who the hell is he to kick me out? Even if my spouse was ok with me. I don't care if he was joking or not,it's not professional besides being a rude jackass to ppl

Excellent review ! They are all very nice people, with tons if goods equipment. I stayed in a single room, very clean, and the food was good. Nothing bad to say. Thanks again

My friend recently stayed here to help feel mentally better and I was very disappointed and how run-down that it looks. The waiting room where you sit and talk is all messed up. She hasn't seen a psychiatrist in the first three days she's been here and the nurse practitioner is very nasty. I will say that the social worker was nice and maybe this is the best we can do but being a US citizen we should be able to do better with mental health care than this. In the ER she signed a 72-hour paper 201, and when she got in here they said it didn't count until she resigned it so it stuck her in here for an extra two days and that's not good and very deceiving practices. The ER and the actual Health Center need to have better communication practices. I would never recommend anybody come here again. Call Valley Creek crisis if you need help because this place is not good.

They are horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And miss diagnose ppl just to come back. They need to shut this hospital down. They are licensed killers/ idiots!

I was held here involuntarily in February and I couldn't attend work as a Software QA Developer. Working would have been much more fun than being here. I hope they call asking for payment. I will demand they install wifi and phones for everyone before I pay them. Heck, I'll even chip in on the wifi bill. I will give it 2 stars because it's not as bad as Fairmount Behavioral Health. I particularly dislike a doctor calling herself "Habibah E. Mosley, DO" who was extremely rude to me. I think she should be fired. If I had been allowed an iPhone to record the conversation, I could have recorded her threats to me. At this point it's just my word against her's.

Paul O

Only went here because it was on the company approved list. Will never go there again.

Brian Taylor

The staff is very friendly and theybare good at what they do. Only negatives are the building needs some remodeling and the doctors and nurses need to communicate a little better

Horrible worst hospital I have ever been to.. got hurt at work and had to have a cat scan done.. wasn't even busy but I'm still here after 4 hours even though I got my cat scan and I was cleared and told I can go home...most of staff is ignorant.. place is horrible I wouldn't bring my kids here for a stitch..

Been here for 3hrs for 11 o'clock procedure oh were sorry for the wait running a little behind if we were 5mins late we would have to reschedule hope I never have to come back here again

Rebecca Angelo

In the last 6 months I have had to go to the ER here twice. Both times I had wonderful physicians and nurses look after me. I didn't wait too long to be triaged and my pain was taken care of. The building is a little less than what I would expect to be hospital clean, which is disconcerting

Complete lack of patient safety and quality of care - The Joint Commission will be receiving a complaint. A risk for falls patient was never tagged as such, and a cardiac patient with no monitor with an alert then left alone, IV bag of fluid was disconnected and the patient spent entire day not getting fluids (again this is a cardiac patient), filthy ER room, drug list given at check-in was NEVER put into the system, so every healthcare worker kept referring to old medications or meds that the patient was NEVER on; when the 85+ yr old woman wanted to leave they told her medicare won't pay if she left (threating to her) until a doctor signed her out, this took 8 hrs then the discharge papers had none of the correct medications on it. One of the meds would have killed her if she took it.

Not a bad experience to get tests here, but the billing is awful. Just downright awful. They sent me two bills for the same service- one was twice what I actually owed and the other was 6 (SIX) times what I was supposed to owe. The bills also have basically zero information on them, so it’s hard to get info from the hospital about what it was even for. I wouldn’t recommend going here if you don’t have to.

Melissa Campbell

If you don't feel like reading my full experience below here is a summary: If you have a choice DO NOT go to this hospital. From treatment to billing they are incompetent and rude. If you are being transported by ambulance please note that you have to request they do not take you to this hospital! A few years ago I was unfortunate enough to choose to go to Brandywine ER with a minor issue. The wait / experience then was enough for me to never want to go back. They had issues entering my insurance information and ended up billing me $800 after a 5 hour wait to be seen for 5 min. They are rude and uneducated. Then in May of this year I had an incident where I was choking and had to be transported by ambulance I ended up passing out and woke up in Brandywine again....it was like a nightmare. I sat there for 6 hours with steak lodged in my throat, barely able to breathe, and passing out. My husband was with me and was obviously upset that the staff was doing absolutely nothing to help me or calm me down. So they were being completely rude to him and ignoring me. I ended up having multiple panic attacks because the nursing staff kept asking each other very basic questions right in front of me and I had absolutely no faith in their abilities / knowledge. The blankets on the bed, the commode they rolled into my room, everything was filthy. Before they rolled me back to the operating room all I could do was look at my husband and whimper that I was going to die there. After everything I had seen and the way I was treated I was completely convinced I would not make it out of that nightmare of a hospital. By some miracle I managed to wake up from anesthesia able to breath. The nurse asks me if I would like a drink (I had just had a scope and food removed from my throat and was very uncomfortable) so I said no I just wanted to go home. She then informs me I can't leave until I drink something. So I said fine and she brings me APPLE JUICE I just had minor surgery on my throat and instead of water they give me the most acidic beverage they could find. I chugged it just to escape them. As the nurse is finally taking out my IV so I can leave she notices they put an IV in each hand and says ...out loud...in front of me and my husband "Hm why did they do two? That was unnecessary..." I'm writing this review months later because guess what? They send me one bill after treatment that reflects my insurance deductible and I pay it. Months later....I receive another bill for $33000. From treatment to billing this place is a never ending cycle of frustration.

Taylor Thomas

I have now waited 7 hours and still going so that I could get into the Behavioral part of the hospital. They keep saying another hour and then more hours later go by. It should not take a staff of nurses to simply arrange a room for someone who needs help for over 7 hours. I keep asking for food and something to drink and they do nothing. They tried to take my bags and give it to someone else until I stopped them and corrected them. Disgraceful.

Master Sean

I wouldn't take my dog here, take forever to get help in the ER. The woman behind the counter spent 10 minutes to figure out how to change a last name to learn they do it in the back. Train your staff!!! Lived in the area for 22 years and this hospital has the worst reputation of any!

Carmen Schaller

Linda Whitworth

This has got to be one of the worst hospitals I have ever encountered. The nurses on the 3rd floor are a disgrace to anyone who passed nursing school. I would give a negative star if available. I would not take my dog to Brandywine Hospital. Tower Health shine ashamed to put their names on the building.

Wonderful group of Dr's and nurses were helping me during my inpatient stay. Informative, caring, helpful - a great experience.

Nancy Benson

Went in for hives due to an allergic reaction. I was seen promptly and well cared for, from triage to my personal care. Aimee, my PA, was very responsive and listened to my concerns and past history. Teresa, my nurse, was very patient and explained my meds to me clearly. I'll admit, due to the low ratings I was apprehensive about going there, but I received great care and am giving them five stars.

Lorena Lewis

Incident happened 11/6/18:Very poor patient care and bedside manner... RN'S who were caring for my mother were unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. You shouldnt be in the nursing field if it's a problem with caring for people who are in need. RN CHELSEA YOUNG and RN Amanda lacked any form of professional communication. They were dismissive of my mother's needs. I felt unsafe leaving my mother in their care. When addressing our concerns to RN CHELSEA YOUNG and RN Amanda they became combative and argumentative demonstrating non verbal cues like My family didn't have the right to speak up about their poor interpersonal skills and piss poor attitude encompassed with a blatant disregard for a person in need. I followed up with the clinical nurse to Express all of our concerns and grievances and will ensure to be in contact with the Director of the PROGRESSIVE CARE UNIT. With this experience I will not recommend anyone to this facility...GO TO CHESTER COUNTY HOSPITAL!

A routine surgery turned into a life changing event. After spending 28 days in Brandywine, words cannot express how traumatized physically and mentally I feel. For the last 3 years, everyday, I deal with medical issues caused by the "care" received at Brandywine... Don't just go some place because its close to home... Research. Ask people.

I was in. the vacility 3 days my belongings were stolen i wasn't given my daily meds and i contacted mrsa. Go anywhere else but there!

My brother was here for 8 days and they couldn't fingure out what was wrong with him .they did exploratory surgery on his leg for no reason and they do not follow hippa laws, I was happy they gave me info when I called but I'm not his medical power of attorney or his emergence contact makes me think they give informant to everyone over the phone. It was the most aggregating experience and I won't even go into how slow they are at everything , if you want to live don't go here !!please

I knew mom was in trouble when Nurse Ratched yelled at me when I grabbed the bag of hospital gowns and growled to just wear one. I am a grown ass man why in the Hell would I put on more than one freaking gown? I loved hearing mom's moans and groans of pain and being completely ignored by the less than stellar staff. I see that one star is their most frequent rating. Since they do not have zero or negative ratings. I hope you and your loved ones never have the misfortune of being sent there. God help you because they sure will not.

Naj Goodman

I came in with a gash on my shin in tremendous amounts of pain not hurting anybody an the staff made me feel as if my pain was exaggerated they man handled my wound with no care for how I was feeling an when I began to tell them that they were causing more pain with there aggressiveness they told me I was acting erratic an brung security into my room as if I could get up on 2 feet an hurt anybody they were very inconsiderate of how I felt they talked to me as if my pain caused them distress it was very unsettling THEE ONLY person who treated me with respect was the lady who x rayed my legs she deserves a raise so bothered I can’t remember her name I’ll never forget her face , these guys doesn’t deserve 1 star I’m sorry my service there was very very displeasing

Phyllida Whittaker

I went through the eating disorder program at Brandywine. It was exceptionally bad. As the other reviewers stated, the majority, or at least an unacceptable amount of staff were lazy/ignorant/unhelpful (though three or four of them were, I believe, actually good at their jobs). Most of the staff had no understanding of eating disorders and would tell one so, and there was little to no trust given to patients, except for in the food department, in which patients were often held responsible for remembering and getting for themselves specific foods or supplements. I found this odd: they do not trust the patients with anything and let it be known that the patients have little to no control in this situation, but expect them to be fully compliant and active in their "recovery", which the patients cannot define for themselves, but is instead defined by the doctors. If you are not just like them, you are wrong. The treatment of food is almost eating-disorder like, if you eat X amount of food, you get this as a consequence, if you don't eat this amount of food, you get this as a consequence. The website is a joke and uninformative/untrue. 90% percent of the time, whatever you say for yourself is deemed wrong. I think some of the staff works with the program purely because they want to exert their dominance over others. Alternatively, they could have started in the program because it had a paycheck, and simply learned to love the control they have over defenseless people. The outpatient familial plan they proposed for me was abominable and against my wishes and just plain wrong for me, but they didn't care when I explained this. I developed another eating issue while in the care of these people ("the best in the nation", as one therapist proudly described them). When I was discharged, I thought perhaps my feelings for the program were skewed because of my eating disorder and would change. No, I have since done a lot of work and accomplished so much with my great team of doctors and supportive friends and family, and recovery really means something to me now that I can define it for myself, instead of it just being the extremely uninviting idea of being just like the brandywine treatment team. I'm doing great, no thanks to brandywine, and my feelings for their program have not changed. Don't send your loved ones here! It's a bad idea. Thank GOD i got out of there. The only helpful thing I got out of it was the connections I made with the other patients, who were ultimately the most helpful people in the building. Please, don't send anyone here.

My son is having an asthma attack six years old by the way it took them a hour just for them to give him any treatment it was clear like even Steve Wonder could see the attack that was taking place they only gave him like a half dose of medicine I guess just to shut me up like this place ain't right no compassion at all and to think I wanted to work here this crazy ass man walked in all busted and all he needed was some damn sutures but he got attrition right away

98% of doctors and staff are professional, caring, informative, and very friendly. The other 2% of staff are ignorant and unprofessional and should not be working no where near humans or animals or anything related to caring or treating any living thing.Obviously very poor management has allowed this to continue hence the rest of the feedbacks and refuse to see what goes on with the bottom 2%,I would rate the experience terrible due to the treatment and uncooperative attitude we received by certain staff.completely ruins the excellent work the majority is doing.

This is the worst hospital. I would give zero stars if I could. I was in severe pain because of DVT and kept begging them to check me in but it took 3 hours when they told me a max of 30 minutes wait. Die at home than to wait here and die in the waiting lobby!!!!

This hospital is VERY clean from the multiple visits i've been there. They were the only hospital who found my gallbladder issues and they helped calm me when I was scared with a recent trip. Some staff can be uptight/rude but, the people I did see were fantastic. You give or take, every hospital has it flaws.

I came to Brandywine Hospital twice by ambulance this year. My stay was entirely unhelpful each time. As a patient, I expect to receive treatment that prepares me for a better life after recovery. Sadly, the staff there were unwilling to help unless I asked for help calmly and respectfully. The more I was told to ask, the harder it became to actually receive anything. I came to the hospital for a reason, and being told I can’t receive treatment unless I ask in a specified way was in a way debilitating. The staff were biased, the meals were unfulfilling, and my needs were not met. I felt discriminated against thanks to my collection of unacknowledged health problems. The medical system in Pennsylvania in general—in my opinion—is counterproductive in getting young adults on their own feet. Bias needs to stay out of my recovery.

My mother was recently in this hospital and I have nothing but horrible things to say about it. Short staffed nurses, lazy nurses... only way you will get good care is in ICU. My mother was left in a room all day not able to respond to anything. And the nurse didn’t find that weird. I live 40 minutes away from there so I would called and they would say she is doing okay and blah blah blah... well apparently you can’t leave your loved one there and feel confident that they will be cared for. Well short story if I didn’t end up going up to the hospital to check on her bc they let her sleep all day she would have died. She was unresponsive when I arrived. And had to get a breathing tube and rushed to ICU for 4 days. My mom has major health problems any educated nurse would have made sure she had the best care and wouldn’t have let her sleep without questioning why isn’t this patient waking up to give me her name or ANYTHING... I will have to knowledge ONE AMAZING nurse named CEE CEE... she is truly amazing! If you are able to.. take your family member to Chester County Hospital! They are 100% better. I’ve talked to doctors at Chester County Hospital about Brandywine and they give a dirty look and any NO COMMENT!! That says something!!! Please if one of your family member experience something at this hospital take down names and report them! I hope they make a difference and train their nurses appropriately.

My wife went to the ER this morning and sat in the waiting room for 2 hours and pain so bad she couldn't walk. They didn't look at her or do a evolution. After 2 hours and 10 mins they took her bloodpresser and told us she will be in the waiting room for a while couldn't get her back to see a doctor for at least 2 more hours. I let them know this was unacceptable that she was in extreme pain and needed to see a doctor right a way. I took her out of there and straight to Chester county and even tho they where extremely busy 4 times busier then brandywine, a doctor saw her in 20 min from walking in thank God and she was taken for Emergency surgery. Brandywine is the worst ran hospital our family has every seen. If at all possible go somewhere anywhere else. Your life might depend on it.

Horrific experience. We brought my one year old daughter who was projectile vomiting and lethargic and the ER doctor told us he couldn't give her any nausea meds until she was 4. Not to mention he was snarky and had a terrible attitude. It's a good thing our parenting instincts kicked in. We took her to Chester County Hospital and she WAS given anti nausea meds as well as pedialyte rotations because she WAS dehydrated and hadn't had a wet diaper in hours (doctor said she wasn't and that she wasn't lethargic). Terrible experience. I'll never go again.

We had a resident from our group home at this hospital. His doctors changed too often and no one took on -going responsibility .He left the hospital with no confirmed diagnosis and needing a transfusion every other day. I was told the day before he was sent to a rehab/nursing care facility that he would not leave in this state. Also told that as needed an oncologist would be included. Nothing that I was assured of the day before by their RN social service person happened. We were told at 4 pm he was being discharged. The nursing home does not handle transfusions and they were as confused as we were about this chaotic ,discharge.I sincerely hope that as the nursing home sends him to a hospital for another transfusion that he will be in a caring and comprehensive treatment facility.

I just got home from a short procedure at Brandywine Hospital. I have heard so many people say negative things about this hospital but I had a wonderful experience. The nurses, staff, and doctors were all courteous, friendly, and professional. I had quite a few conversations with multiple people that helped put me at ease as I was anxiously waiting for my surgery. These employees took their time to make me feel comfortable and went above and beyond their professional obligations. Tower Health is hard at work renovating the hospital and the work that is completed is beautiful.

Took almost 2 hours for my daughter in law to get an IV bag. This wouldn't happen at Chester County. Never letting her go to "brandywine hospital" if you ever consider this a hospital.

I'm new to the area and had to visit the ER this past Saturday do to a severe leg infection. I was seen quickly and later admitted for a few days. Every single person I had interactions with were professional and considerate. While I was in the waiting room of the ER another patient arrived and while her husband was checking her in she started to have a seizure. I was surprised at the quick response of the medical staff from the back to see to her needs. I am definitely assured that if I need hospitalization I will be well taken care of there.

Half the staff in the behavioral health wing are either incompetent and/or ignorant to the patient's needs or try their damnedest to help as much as they can. There is a whole bunch of miscommunication with the ER and them as well. Today, April 15th, 2019, I was discharged from Unit A and they forgot to pack my birth control, my brassiere, and my hairspray. Also, security took stuff out of my makeup and personal bags and put them with my valuables instead of placing them where they found them. I tried to explain that was not okay over the phone, once I got home, and the woman interrupted me and made wait until she was done speaking to me before I could say my piece. I wish I could give the behavior health wing a zero.

Jes Mcorkel

horrible, waited in er for almost 5 hours and as im writing this I'm still waiting....but its not all bad........they have free internet. If it wasn't the only one close I'd drop it and never look back.

My Mother had to start chemo treatments in the hospital because of her lung disease..when i took her to have her treatment they gave her a bag of chemo and about 10 mins later she vomitied they gave her a pill to stop the vomiting i took my son to school which was about 10 mins away i came back and my mom is in ICU dieing...they overdosed my mom on chemo...this is the worst hospital ever if you want your loved one alive go to another hospital

Terrific food wAs good too

It might say tower health, but it's the same old Brandywine hospital. The emergency room is the only thing holding them back from being a great hospital. The nurses on the floors are good, the staff in the operating room and recovery are the best. That emergency room is totally unprofessional. How some stores and restaurants have secret shoppers, they need to have secret patients so they can really see how terrible the emergency room really is. I'm here now for 2 hours and I'm still not being seen. This is insane.

Sharon L Taylor

My son was recently in an accident that required a lot of stitches to his face! Instead of cleaning him up (like most hospitals would do in the emergency room!), they stitched him up and sent him home!!! For over a week he has not been able to get the blood off of his face that should have been cleaned off!!! I will NEVER EVER give this hospital a thumbs up for anything since this instance. I will avoid this hospital at all costs. There is Chester County Hospital in West Chester or Paoli Hospital in Paoli! Don't go here if you really want to be taken care of! Or, if you agree with this particular hospital episode, feel free! His girlfriend went to Paoli and got exceptional care!
