I often hear vets bitching and moaning about how terrible the VA medical is. I know that there have been problems in some areas/states...but as far as Ct. VA system is concerned, I can't say enough good things about it. I've recieved nothing but excellent all around from them since starting with them around 96-97.

Absolutely great experience!! Everyone was so helpful and very quick. I had my c&p exams one was at 9 at the newington and the second in west haven. With both exams, travel time and X-rays less than 3 hours. Truly amazed!!

A Primary Care check-in staff member was deliberately ignoring me in favor of finishing her texting convo. She then decided to pretend I wasn't standing right in front of her. Finally, she got up and walked to the back area of the firms where she proceeded to play what I assume was a YouTube video from her phone on max volume. Other employees gathered around her promptly to amuse themselves with the media's audio broadcasting to all corners of the waiting room. In closing, I should mention that I've been waiting for my PCP appointment for almost an hour.

I wish they had a separate rating for the pharmacy and the rest of the VA facility. This pharmacy is terrible. They are extremely slow, and on top of that they are often rude. Everyone else I've dealt with at this VA has been excellent.

I have had a great experience with the Newington VA office. I was tested for hearing aids and within one month I had new hearing aids. I am very happy with everyone I came in contact with from the front desk to the audiologist and her staff.

Received hostile service when calling the Newington VA main reception line. The older woman "assisting" me was yelling at me for not having all the information she needed to do her job. Insterad of asking basic questions to refine my inquiry she grew more angry. I was simply returning a voicemail that a Newington VA rep from the disability office left. All he provided me with was his first name and the main line number. When I asked the operator for basic assistance she was beyond rude yelling WE DON'T PROCESS CLAIMS HERE! I tried to reiterate I wasn't filing a claim and after another exchange of me trying to explain my request SHE HUNG UP ON ME! I called form a landline so there is no way this was a drop in reception. When I timidly called back the Newington office to try and get assistance, Amanda from the call center answered and she was beyond polite and helpful and got me in touch with the DAV office. I decided to call back and thank Amanda. I also left a message for the call center manager Allen and let him know about the disconnect in the service his staff is providing. Rangers Lead the Way!
