Just had surgery at the Ambulatory Surgical Center. Experience was very good. All employees were professional, friendly, and took pride in their jobs. Facility was clean and modern. Lets face it, going to a hospital is not like going to the Waldorf Astoria. Can't comment on the emergency room, but it's probably no different than the other area hospitals. Overall, I would recommend Englewood Hospital for outpatient services.

Be aware, careless doctors on duty. Misdiagnosed on a simple issue, but they will still send a bill but will not return an email. They will have you on hold for hours and nothing gets accomplished. Do not recommend Dr Edwind Salamanca totally unoroffesional and careless.

My family and I always go to this hospital It’s house local hospital and we never had any issues with the hospital

HORRIBLE! Regret having given birth to my baby girl here and other treatments I have gotten in the hospital. The system is that they charge you separately for everything they do, the hospital charges and the doctors too. So you will receive 2 bills per procedure. Also, while I was hospitalized, they sent a lot of medicine students to ask me weird questions and all of these students charged me!!! For questions!!!! Like, how are you feeling today? Are you kidding me??!!! My family and I will NEVER visit this hospital again. Last but not least, I asked for a cleaning lady to clean my bathroom shower during my stay and she refused, I should never have to ask for my shower to be cleaned, it should be cleaned! She put towels on the shower floor and said: "there, you can shower now." She never cleaned it! TERRIBLE!

I unfortunately delivered my they’re child here- my first two were born at HUMC but my OB retired and with my new practice I wound up here. It was not good. My labor and delivery nurse was wonderful- no complaints there. The fun began when I moved upstairs to maternity- the nurses up there were so rude and unhelpful. My first nurse didn’t feel like getting an IV pole so TAPED my IV bag to the wall- it of course didn’t stay and my IV stopped working and I needed to be on it for another hour before it could be removed. She shamed me for not breastfeeding my first baby who would up on the NICU for the first week of her life and never brought my newborn into my room. I had to ask the tech who brought my water to finally go get him. She also took hours to contact the food people to tell them I wasn’t on a liquid diet like they thought so I didn’t get to eat for about 20 hours. My next nurses weren’t much better- housekeeping threw out my whole roll of toilet paper for some reason and it took my half a day to get more. They also make you take a baby care class before you leave which is totally useless. The nurse said to ignore all housework for two weeks- yeah, right. They also instructed us not to do illegal drugs, it was a complete waste of time. Staff barges in constantly all day and night- you can’t rest and they kept waking up my sleeping infant. I understand you need to check on people but kicking the door in like you’re on a swat team is a bit excessive The staff didn’t even check my bracelet before leaving my baby with me about half the time. It was a disorganized disaster. Hackensack was so much more efficact and had such kind caring nurses, this place was a joke.

The emergency department its the worst when taking care the patient from nurses to the doctors. We went before 11:00pm and we left at 6:00am the next day and no because the ER was busy its cause they take the sweet ass time to take care a patient when my boyfriend went with stomach aid and bleeding. They didn't even give him a pain relieve. But they're very quick billing the insurance and us... Never again and I won't recommended to nobody

Janae Rosario

I was taken care of immediately! Food was AMAZING & staff was friendly! If I didn't have a two year old, I would have stayed just to stay.. this place is truly a blessing!

Lily Martinez

My brother was in for a procedure today.. . It was scheduled for 7am.. 4 hrs later he was taken in.. He came out at 12 and at 4:15pm after every other patient was taken to a room, because there were none available.. we are still sitting here waiting for a room.. And after asking questions as to when; we got the eye roll, and hold on I'll get someone.. There was only one person that knew we existed.. Mia was an absolute God sent. Never will I recommend this hospital and I will make sure to post my experience to social media to warn others. They treat you as a case not a human.. The only good thing was Dr. Kovar, Mia and the fact that he gets to go home in a day or so.

We had our first baby here and I have to say the attention and care they give over here was phenomenal. The nurses were extremely nice and caring. They came to check up on us often and promptly provided us with anything we needed. The hospital itself is very clean and the mother/baby unit was recently renovated so it felt like a hotel room. If we have a second baby and stay in the area, I would definitely deliver over here again. Highly recommend this hospital if you're planning on having a baby.

Worst experience of my life lit. Literally traumitized as a first time mom I was expecting things to be magical ... that was far the worst part of my pregnancy coming to an end .. nights I would go home crying becuase of some nurses and as a person who had suffered from chronic hypertensia at such a young age some of these nurses made it terrible but only did I have two good nurses at the mommy and baby unit and 1 nurse in the nicu and the secretary Kevin .. that only brighten some day of my life And I owe a lot to Kevin So if your in the nicu Kevin will always be a person to make you smile and patty is an amaizing nurse I don’t recommend any mom delivering at Englewood

The worst hospital in Englewood, NJ. I wish I could give them no starts at all!!! Emergency Room is extremely slow, nurses are slow. They prescribe you medication without looking at your allergies, thank God the pharmacist at a local pharmacy saved their ass and notify me that the medication they prescribe to be was something I'm not suppose to take!!!!! This hospital is well paid yet treat there patient like garbage. The bathrooms are disgusting, They aren't helpful at all, nurses are rude with nasty attitudes, unprofessional!! THEY DONT DO MRI ON THE WEEKENDS UNLESS YOU HAVE AN APT AFTER BEING ADMITTED. GO TO ANY OTHER HOSPITAL BUT ENGLEWOOD HOSPITAL, YOU WILL SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE.

Lubov Brizhata

Amazing experience with this hospital. Very well organized. Great staff. Looking forward to delivering my baby here in June. Very clean... Easy to get around.

Destiny gerena

Pretty great hospital from my experience ONLY THING is their cafeteria is very pricey !

Tim Phan

In the hospital for chest pain... Walked in at 11:30AM... Left at 7PM with nothing.... Doctor didn't communicate well to the point that I didn't get to eat anything until 4PM, while I can see employees eating in front of me during lunch time. Everytime I wanted to leave, they would guilt my wife into pressuring me to stay.... The only fast an efficient thing they do is set up billing with your insurwnce company. Here: have more doctor's available as well as a better/faster lab sysyem. You charge so much money it's an insult that you don't have more than one cardiologist on call

Josh Mayer

awesome experience they helped me a lot when i broke my hand

Joseph Weiss

Efficient, wifi, friendly

The initial nurse was pleasant but the nurses afterword begrudgingly performed their duties in the ER the X-Ray tech was especially nasty (blond tall woman). This place sucks.

My Lady gave birth to my newest boy and it was by the Dr.'s and care of EHMC that we are enjoying him for over two weeks later. My 1st son had similar great experiences throughout his youth, from ENT procedures to even my own occasional visits. There's so much competition out there for valuable medical centers . As EHMC continues to value the incoming and exiting clients of the larger NJ community we should know they've been a greater asset to us.

My elderly mother has been taken to the hospital’s ER several times, and generally the experience has been good. Where things go wrong is when she is admitted to the hospital and transferred to a hospital room. There, a new doctor takes over and communications start falling apart. This happened again yesterday/today. My mother has dementia (and is very hard of hearing) and cannot understand any communications from the doctors or nurses. I try to stay with her as much as possible (I hold her medical power of attorney), but I have to take a break every now and then. The nurses never know when the doctors are supposed to make their rounds, and the times vary wildly. Inevitably, the doctor will show up while I have stepped out, and although I have left word for him/her to call me, they rarely ever do (or they wait for many hours to do so). The response is typically that they “have a lot of patients to see.” They don’t seem to understand that speaking with me is part of their job, and I have a lot of information and insights that don’t appear on my mother’s chart. They need to have that information and insight in order to make good decisions regarding her care, and I need to know what’s happening so that I can make proper decisions and arrangements. Layer on top of that the fact that, on weekends, the levels of staffing and general organization fall off significantly (as it does in most hospitals), and you have a totally exasperating experience.

I never experianced auch bag service in any other hospital i had pain like labour and i end up miscarying my baby while creaming and they dont get me in tgey r still asking me to wait in waiting area i would never recomend thag hospital plus they send me several bills never took the right information of my incurance and keep sending me bill from defferent department while no other hospital does that bad bad bad hospital u die to see a dcotor in emergency wow

Ashley Samuel

Excellent customer service. Was a bit frustrated with my initial experience but I can definitely say if you have any issues you should go to the department concerned and have your issue addressed. They really do care here and do their best to make sure each person is satisfied with their experience. I am highly impressed with how professionally they handled my complaints. I have had a change of heart and would definitely go back in the future. So if you at first don't have a good experience, give them a chance to make it right.

Patrick Genova

Dr. Agnofsky and his cardiac team deserve all my admiration and love for their comprehensive medical care I rec during my recent bypass surgery. Their professionalism, compassion and attention to detail is remarkable. Word can never express how thankful I am for the excellent care I rec throughout this medical emergency. The Registered Nurses on 7 Dean deserve special praise for their commitment, attention to detail and excellent medical care. Special shoutout to Lamais and Emma for their special touch. I will forever be grateful and keep all of you in my prayers. Thank you . Pasquale Genova

So in 2 years they have killed one family member who had cancer and is about to kill another, her granddaughter. Great job Englewood Hospital.

Shannon Siguenza

Horrible experience when my son got brought in by an ambulance!! I walked In through the emergency door & asked to be brought to my son & was refused. They could not locate him, the security guards as well as a lady behind counter with initials of (CB) were extremely rude!!! I had To threaten to call the cops if they wouldn’t allow me to go to my son who is also a minor. I can Understand people doing their job, are you working hospital there should be some kind of compassion, or change careers.

I came to Englewood to have my first child. I loved every moment! The staff here is stellar and the entire experience from beginning to end was positive!

jaslyn soto

My experience in Englewood Hospital was the worst! My aunt died while giving birth because one of the doctors gave her something she was allergic to without asking if she was allergic or not. My cousin had 15 minutes without breathing. If you ask me he is a miracle from God !

Kalpesh Patel

Very bad experience with this Englewood Hospital. They call my wife come 7:30 pm for induse. We was there 7:00 o'clock then they said wait in waiting room. After 4 hours someone come and said we don't have any empty room so you can go home now.

Judi McGuinness

Recently had same day surgery here and was VERY impressed with the wonderful staff! My nurse, Karen, was with me from beginning to end and sent me home with items to ease my recovery. My anesthesiologist, Dr Lobel, was excellent and I was able to have my procedure without opiates, as I am a recovering alcoholic. Wonderful experience, I wouldn't go anywhere else .

Diana Prince

Clean and organized hospital with helpful staff members. Cafe inside has average menu options. Comfortable seating arrangements for patients.

Mike G

Stay away. I had an MRI appointment (6:30pm) for a lingering issue. I get there and all they have is this extremely small MRI machine. I am a big guy, but I wanted to get this done. I lasted about two minutes inside before I had to get out. I was then told that the regular sized machine has been out all day. AND that I should have requested the larger machine... WHAT KIND OF ANSWER IS THAT?????? Why couldn't you call me to reschedule?? It's not like you haven't known the regular machine has been down for the last 12 hours. Now I have to waste another day off to go back. Horrible experience.

Stephen H.

Excellent hospital and people. The nurses Barbara, Marlena, Vicki and Karen are awesome. I don't know the names of all the other nurses but they are all great too and keep their cool despite being busy and harried. Nursing assistants Ana, Magda and 2 others (I don't remember their names) are very good. Tess who does the scheduling is a doll as are Jolenne and Laura who coordinate transportation. A very well run organization.

It’s a shame how they treated my father who’s terminally ill. The nurse had no interest in attending to my dad’s needs. Among the many things that went wrong, it took the nurse hours to check his vitals. I had to ask multiple times for help on multiple issues. Such a shame...

The best hospital ever

My mom was admitted last Feb 28 , 2018. My moms prognosis was very poor. We are aware of that , so we decided to agree with the doctors suggestion that she will be comfort care. Plan to place her in hospice facility, which we agrreed. But at the time when she was about to be moved she became more very sick, labored breathing and BP was very low when the nurse checked it. Dr Kapoor came and told us " Are you aware that she will be move today?" I answered "Yes". I told Doctor that my mom is very sick and she might not make on her way to facility . The doctor said " We still go ahead with the plan she is hopice " So I asked " What if she will pass away on our way, where do we go? Inside the ambulance? I also asked " The doctor said , you still go to the facility where she supposedly going". It really breaks my heart , upon hearing it. Where is your heart doctor? I thought your aim is to provide confort to dying patient , is it comforting to ship a dying patient to another facility even if she is hospice she still deserves a dignified death with the family. To cut the story short my mom passed away 2 hours after we arrived in the facility thats March 13,2018 . I really can't forget this experience of ours, me and family was grieving at the same time thinking about what happened the more it breaks our heart. Im hoping , to you doctor Kapoor and the rest of the team that it will not happen to your family member what was happened to my mother.

My fiance' had a major foot surgery at Englewood Hospital today. Kudos to the staff, the nurses and the doctors for having taken care of her so well and so professionally before, during and after her surgery. You are the best and the most professionals we have ever come to know at a health facility. Five Stars are not enough for how you treated and took care of my fiance today. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You guys Rock.

Andrea C.

Doesn’t even deserve 1 star!!!! Worst hospital ever. They need MORE EXPERIENCED RN’s!!!!!! ER is filled with patients but can never seem to find a health care professional anywhere. Nurses are always on their phones! Your patients are more important than Instagram Englewood hospital!!!!! I was planning on having my children at this hospital! Thank god for this wake up call !! Dodged a GIANT bullet!

Englewood Hospital is worth a 5 star rating. The Hospital is clean and efficient. The entire staff, from the Receptionist to the Doctors, are polite, positive and actually care about you. I recently went to Englewood Hospital for a minor test. The Staff was caring and kept me informed throughout the procedure. In particular, Nurses Barbara and Nancy along with Dr. Klein did a great job! I am thankful and appreciate their professionalism.

Maria Hidalgo

My go to for emergencies. They are well organized and clean. I also had a surgical proceeding performed here a few months ago and it was a seamless process. Great staff, system and facilities.

Nick Minarik

I came to the ER here for stitches after falling off a ladder and was blown away by the level of care the staff gives. The nurses had great senses of humor and helped take my mind off the impending needle time, and when I told the doctor about how scared of stitches I am he took the time to find a common interest and talked to me about hockey and snowboarding for the entire time he was working. He also did an excellent job--the wound healed ahead of schedule and getting the stitches out was extremely easy and painless (I've been places in the past where the removal somehow hurt worse than the procedure. Not sure how.) Not that I plan on getting hurt again, but if I did I'd definitely come here for care.

Nancy McLarsen

my entire family has always trusted this hospital for all their health needs. safe and friendly environment.

R David Koby

Reputable and clean facility. Good security. Many awards for superior care. The 2016-17 issue of US News and World Report’s Best Hospitals named Englewood Hospital and Medical Center as a “Best Regional Hospital.” Very good rehabilitative program. Excellent cafeteria with delicious and reasonable prices.Free valet parking (tips are welcomed).

I was born at this hospital and thought it was the right place to go due to a chest cold/acute bronchitis that had pain. I was concerned with the chest pain. While the staff was cordial. The brunette female emergency doctor couldnt seem to understand why drafts were bothering my chest. The draft from the vent above my head in the ER hospital room was blowing on me for hours. I was given the diagnosis of bronchitis but she looked at me like I was an alien when I explained the cold drafty ER and the vents blowing all over me were giving me the chills. And that drafts in general aggrevate my chest. I went home and feel much worse than before I went. My sinuses began dripping {they weren’t before} I have a stiff neck from the vents, my back pains are worse and my chest was aggrevated by the environment. Going there set me back. And frankly the drs common sense radar was off...way off. I’m very disappointed. {Had I known it was that drafty I wouldn’t have gone.} but her response to my concern about the drafts was what I found alarming.

Eric Wunschel

Orlene from the Radiology Scheduling Department was an absolute wonder. She went above and beyond to assist us when our mother needed tests in an urgent manner. The BEST of care! Much Thanks!

Andrea Ocampo

I’ve had my child in this hospital and currently pregnant and will be here again, also many emergencies and a whole lot of uncomfortable moments. But they take great care of you and you do leave with a peace in mind. I recommend this hospital over any other in the area. 10 years plus of loyalty to it. Wouldn’t trade it for the world

Dunkan Vostrov

In Russia, such a hospital would be the coolest. Appreciate what you have. After all, you live in America much better.

Kim anzaldo russo

Absolutely the best hospital around! I have been to many others in the area and the level of patient care, professionalism, as well as the knowledge and bedside manner is unmatchable. Its organized, clean, polite, efficient, billing department is on point. Doctors and staff are simply a pleasure. I was a breast cancer patient, sent their for the first time by my gynecologist who I cannot thank enough for advising I go there. After my biopsy, I had to wait just about an hour and pathology already had results in. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and they swiftly swooped me off to a patient navigator Cathy Lauer as well as the doctors and nurses who were all there to talk and guide me right into my next steps. I never had to wonder or worry about anything. Cathy was on it every step of the way and every procedure or appt or treatment I had in hospital she would pop in like a little guardian angel! Every technician is so kind and friendly even the cleaning people. Now i will only go to doctors who work out of Englewood Hospital! Even the ER is exceptional. The desk staff and nurse immediately comes out to check your vitals and status just to be sure of the amount of danger or pain you are in. I guess I could go on for hours but I just can't speak highly enough!

Post Traumatic Grandpa

Excellence is the primary goal and achievement at Englewood! Our daughter is in the best of care while she is in labor awaiting the birth of her first baby and our first grandchild. The nurses and doctors are professional and compassionate towards all of the expectant mothers. Definitely gives us comfort to know that the patients needs are well taken care of especially when our daughter is one of them. The level of care provided a great feeling of confidence and well being. Nothing more to say about Englewood as we believe that we said it all.

Samatha Snyder

Best hospital in Bergen county

Sonia Adell

In my opinion, excellent hospital! I entered in emergencies with a strong pain in the abdomen. Each of the people who attended me were great, super professional and kind, they did many tests to me, until I knew what I had. The waiting times quite fast, in some moments I had to wait, but like anywhere! I am not the only sick person in the world, and my problem was not the most serious one. After that, I went back several times to perform more tests, and finally I needed surgery. I have no complaints in any respect. Good job! And continue like this.

Rex Reed

I attempted to schedule a stress test with Englewood Hospital, and I was informed by the scheduler that my MD needed to have privileges there. I said, I am not being admitted...The clerk said NO! I went to a free standing cardiac clinic..... Not great experience.

Jomarie Montalvo

The hospital was ok the staff was horrible

I was admitted in Emergence Room of Englewood hospital on Sunday, January 27 on pm hours. The Doctor, the nurses, lab technician all the health professional are very compassionate and they did all tests and came up with all test results within short time and provided me with excellent treatment. I thank you all for great service. God bless everyone.

Barbara Brown

This was the first time I had been to Englewood Hospital, everyone I had to deal with were, warm, friendly, caring. I love my Dr.'s, Dr. Asad Cheema, & Dr. Omar S Hasan, Cardiologists !!!!! They made me feel very well taken care of & put my mind at ease with the procedure I was having. The Nurses I had in both the Cath Lab & on the floor 7 Dean, where I stayed overnight were Awesome !! I would highly recommend this Hospital to my friends & family a like. Thanks Again for making my stay as comfortable as possible.

Midnightcowboy

This hospital sent a $17 bill collection through collcetion company. I am not joking, just $17. Collection company. Nobody called me, text me from this hospital.

Madelyn Vazquez

I went to the ER and the doctor was super nice. Made me feel calm and safe even though I was super nauseous. BUT I've been trying to get in contact with someone from the billing department for 3DAYS! and NO answer... The billing department thinks I have 30min- 1 Hr to spend on hold .... come on guys.. work with me ...

Chronically 20 Something

I have sickle cell and lupus...let’s just say my treatment was good and they understood my conditions. I was admitted from the ER. Will update

BxGirl Blazin'

This hospital has fabulous cardio-thoracic ICU registered nurses, surgeons, and PAs. Their open heart team is the best.

Andres McMillan

The worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. Just a hospital full of childish nurses that don’t help their patients. They just play around and talk about how much they can’t wait to get off of work. I wasn’t put into a room, I was put in the public hallways next to the rooms and also asked for my SSN in front of tone of random people who aren’t employees, just guests. Doctor never came to talk to me and left me with no answers. An X-ray and blood test shouldn’t take 4 hours and counting. I hate everything about this place and so mad that I wasted part of my life here. The worst hospital of all time, Englewood health.. Trash.

David Morin

I must say that if it wasnt for the doctors and the handful of great nurses i would run the other way ! The small amount of GREAT staff is getting over shadowed by the ones with the nasty attitudes . Trying to get a simple update on a sick parent (patient) you get an attitude , if you ask any questions you get an attitude . Then you get the phone games - " hold on let me find out " ( 28 minutes later someone picks up and hangs up ) or let me transfer you and you get transferred to ever dept or floor besides the one you ask for. Its a shame because i have encountered a few GREAT nurses and staff members and even they told me that they know my concerns and complaints , that its not right for us ( patients and family members of the patients)to have to go through this non sense. Its pretty bad and sad that the employees that actually provide a great service cant even speak up .

Bob Eaches

I went to emergency for poison ivy, laceration on elbow and cellulitis as a result of a bicycle fall. They let me leave without prescribing prednisone for the poison ivy. I had to ask them for the prednisone shot which did nothing. I went in again and the nurse said that she never would have left me leave the first time without getting the prednisone. Fortunately I did my own research and found out from an NIH publication that people that have severe poison ivy have a far better outcome with 2 weeks of steroids. Evidently the ER Doctor wanted to talk to the doctor that came on duty the next shift about the steroids before giving me the amount that I needed. It was also prescribed in an incorrect manner. 40 mg first week and 20 mg 2nd week. Steroids have to be tapered, so I knew from my reading to do 60,60, 50, 50, 40, 40, etc. Then the bills came. Separate ones for the hospital and the ER doctors. Both bills state that they can be paid online. They could not and after calling they stated that online bill payment is not available. Don't they realize that the billing statement is a legal document which must be adhered to? I will pay them when online payment is available unless they send me a bill that states it is not available. Since the bill payment software is a 3rd party I'm wondering if the hospital is not paying these 2 separate online payment providers and they cut the hospital off. I will never go back to Englewood Hospital for anything. Even their website is confusing and inferior. This is the 21st century. I feel that they are operating in the 1970s.

Matt Maginley

We had a successful biopsy and removal of cyst. Top quality care. Highly recommend this facility and doctors.

Gemma Kim

Not a pleasant place to be. No parking, so much waiting, not friendly staffs. Not recommended at all and if you really have to be there plan 2 hrs extra.

Lesia Kuzma

The hospital has the doctors on the staff arrogant and unprofessional that is misleading factor when making the decision for the surgical procedure- one expect that the hospital should have knowledgeable and and responsible staff. Name of the doctor that I dealt with is Nadarsheth, Nimesh that perform on me surgery that was way exceeding my diagnosed needs. I would advise people using the doctors not taking to account what hospital they work at rather what skills do they can present.

Ryan Hernandez

Every time we visit the staff is always hospitable and the doctors seem to genuinely care. They make you feel like a person and not just a number. Thanks Englewood for being superb with my entire family.

John Kim

I went to the ER...staff were very lazy didnt seem to care and took their sweet time entering my info when I was in dire need of help. When I finally was able to go to the back room nurses were standing around chit chatting while I was just asking for some water from severe dehydration. Also they just billed me extra they basically saying I wasted their time because my situation wasnt a life threatening incident. So they just charged me extra when I am 100% covered by my insurer. Horizon said all the extra the hospital is charging doesnt understand why a hospital would charge extra but that's Englewood Hospital for you folks. Bunch business thieves not a place that is trying to help but charge for everything. Stay away always go to Hackensack University Medical Center. Hackensack has never done this. If anything they try to lower your bill not charge extra bs fees.

Falana Alston

My 1st place for care

Andrew Lesce

They saved my ability to walk. And you he Doctors are great they take their time with you. Sometimes you have to wait but so worth it. The pain management and the vascular department are great

Worst experience of my life! From careless staff on duty, to misdiagnosis, to predatory collection practices. This hospital has it all & not in a good way. This is a PRO PROFIT hospital,, who doesn’t care about anything other than making a profit of anyone who comes in contact with them. I have found out that I was sent to collections while making monthly payments that were cashed in regularly. Nobody called, nor mailed me anything pertaining to their closed predatory collections meetings. Beware of this predatory pro profit Hospital! You will be next if you decide to make a poor decision and seek treatment here! Go to Hackensack, go to Holly Name, go to any NON PROFIT hospital, but this one.

kira concepicon

Nurses took forever. Boyfriend literally fainted and they did NOTHING BUT TELL ME TO WAKE HIM UP! I HATE THIS PLACE! Will be calling lawyers

Alla Gazit

Worst hospital ever . The stuff is so unfriendly and unwarming. The waiting time is crazy. I approached the ER and have been there for 7 hours!!!!! Got back home with same pains i came with. Do yourself a favor and don't go there! Drive 10,15,or min more but you will get distant tretmant.

edgardo mercado

Best treatment from any hospital staff I have ever had. All the nurses treat you with great care and they all have great attitudes. This is my hospital of choice from here on out. I felt like a king on my 1 night stay

My husband and I are in our eighties, walk with canes and he has Alzheimer's. We have been using Englewood hospital for many years and have always found the people who work there, professional and volunteer to be competent, professional and very nice and helpful. But yesterday, you surpassed yourselves. We had appointments at the ECHO cardiology department on the first floor. From the telephone appointment person to the receptionist when we got there to the technicians who did the tests...unfortunately I have no memory for names...to the volunteers who wheeled us to our car, everyone was not only competent and helpful but extremely kind. In the day of indifference and divisiveness, it was very comforting to be treated with such kindness and care. You are to be commended on your hiring and training skills. Ruth Camins

My name is Chana. I stayed at Englewood Hospital earlier this month of Spetember 2019. Unit 4 East, Behavioral Health. They helped me feel comfortable, I had a single room, the nursing staff comes around often enough. In terms of physical care, Excellence. I was not happy to have a need to stay in the hospital, of course but I made the best of it and the staff helped me.

Julie Brueck

I had shoulder surgery there. The staff was absolutely excellent! Throughout my wait and recovery, I was never alone...a kind nurse was there talking with me to ease my nerves before the procedure and the same care was provided after.

Amber S.

Worst hospital ever.... Everyone who works here is rude and incompetent... Radiology and ER are the worst!!!!! Go to Holy Name .....

erika bezares

3/3/2019 i arrived to emergency room with my pain at an 8. It was a short wait to get a bed in the ER but thats not the issue. They gave me a bed at 432am. My pain was still an 8 and i was very vocal about that to several nurses. In addition i had already took 2 tramadols at 12am 50 mg each which did nothing. The pain simply increased. The doctor didnt see me until 545am. So i waited 45 min with my pain at 8. The doctor accused me of being a drug addict and gave me 1 percocet pill because i told her per my chart another pain medication via IV helps with this paticular pain im having. I am a licensed professional and this hospital has my records which clearly shows i am not a drug addict or have drug seeking behaviors. This is the 2nd time in 3 years that i came here in excruciating pain and they made me wait 45 minutes ....IN PAIN.

I got my spouse for emergency yesterday night at 9,30. He was in pain we need to wait hour 1,30 minutes to get a doctor, he needed a cat scan we waited 7 hours to get it because they had just one in ER and they were backed up, after they could not figured out what was so he had to wait. In the morning 7 doctors visited him and still they could not figured what they had to do, so they told that he needed a MRI it's 9,30 pm still my spouse didn't get the MRI and tomorrow he supposedly get a surgery but still we DONT KNOW ANYTHING?.... certainly I will never use this hospital for any other reason, hope I don't need it. I remember when I had kidney issues and I had just doctors that were just confusing me instead to help me to understand. Never again.

I am very impressed with the systems that they use to keep track of what needs to be done and when it is done. There is a computer in every patient room and they keep track everything there... from the response time when you use the call button, to what medications you are supposed to have and when they are administered. The staff is friendly, and the community feel of the hospital makes the best out of the situation.

Fantastic hospital, professional and courteous staff.

Compared to Nyack hospital, (where i was actually dropped on my head while under anaesthesia) this place is heaven. I'm sure its nothing special but a meal might have been nice somewhere between 6 and 10. Dont hold your breath for any food. If you're not deathly ill, I suggest you be good and ready to wait, a long time. Checked in for a catscan around 3 PM today. It is now 10:20 PM and though the results have been available to the doctor since 7:11, I have no update and no idea where the doctor is. I realize this is an ER, and while I may not be deathly ill, my time is valuable. 3 hours ago, the test was complete. I've been a patient patient,.but if you want to get out anytime within reason, you'll have to make a little noise. The nurses are angels. The facility is very clean, and they have professional staff. Doctors usually make you wait but this is just ridiculous.

10 minutes still no one is picking up the phone kept repeating the best hospital which annoys me. The fact they made wrong judgement on the situation of my daughter that made us going back and forth in the emergency department plus the blonde nurse assigned in the front desk was rude. Though the nurses in our second visit were really nice but the physician is unprofessional ( female somewhat indian) has no patience on my daughter she should have stayed in the physicians lounge. So, total waiting time is 19:34 before a call was picked up.

I have never ever experienced being in an emergency room waiting room for an 1 1/2 before my husband who has an injury to his back who can. It sit for long and hasn't been called in to be seen absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. Never coming to this hospital again.

The experience I had in the ER yesterday was Inexcusable. My doctor came initially came in for my exam and instantly asked me if I “wanted a narcotic” for the pain. (Those were his exact words.) When I asked him to clarify he referred to morphine. I declined. But was appalled by the way he asked me and the terms he used. We are in an opioid epidemic crisis in the state of New Jersey and there should be regulations and other pain medications offered before that. Let alone protocol for the terms being used by doctors. Then my nurse came in to set up IV fluids. She proceeded to insert the IV and somehow got blood all over the place. She laughed and said “well if you see blood anywhere, don’t worry it’s yours.” Later I noticed the blood droplets that were still on the floor after hours of the IV being inserted and my fiancé almost slipped on an alcohol gauze pad which also was drenched in my blood. Several nurses came in and out of my room and failed to clean up the mess. I also noticed that my sheets were covered with blood and were never changed in the 8 hours I was in the emergency room. During my time in the emergency room, I told 4 different nurses that I thought there was something wrong with my fluid rate and the drip. Every time I mentioned it, they said that I had to keep my arm a certain way and dismissed my claims without actually checking arm. The fluid given to me in the full 8 hours I was there, hardly moved and the drip was extremely slow. After 8 hours of waiting, I finally asked if they knew where my doctor was. No one had any idea WHO my doctor was and asked me to describe him. When he finally came in, I asked for an update on my results from a test that had been taken 4 hours ago... he said very casually that my results were normal. I then requested to be discharged and he agreed. A nurse I had never seen before came to remove my IV and said that the way the line was inserted in my arm had been kinked (not one nurse bothered to check my arm when I told them about my fluids). When she finally pulled out the IV I was bleeding very heavily. She put some gauze and a bandaid over my vein and told me I was clear to leave. There was fresh blood all over my arm that was not cleaned by the nurse before I left. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone in the future. The neglect I received yesterday was appalling and shameful.

I had labrium and rotator cuff surgery at Englewood Hospital; was supposed to be a same-day procedure. In at 9am, and out by lunchtime with 1hr recovery. First, they missed my vein in my hand twice while giving me the IV, my veins are clearly visible all day as I work out regularly... then, I went under, and awoke to not being able to speak, breathe properly, or swallow. I was put in a room for 3 nights to monitor my progress. Turns out it was an error on how the nerve block was administered. So, what really bothered me was that this came down to the Anesthesiology department being negligent. The Anesthesiologist and some random guy who didn't speak came into my room when NO ONE was there and were asking questions, assuring me this is a typical response, etc. etc. I'm clearly disoriented, and you're looking for me to give an ok to cover your butt.... guy couldn't have cared less, just wanted to make sure he wasn't in trouble. Filed a grievance, it was denied, then a 'formal grievance', and that was denied. They took off 20% of the bill instead out of good faith. I even offered to pay for EVERYTHING other than the additional stay, and was rejected. The scope of work was to get the surgery, stay one hour... I ended up paying around $4,000 in additional expenses because of this error. Why should I pay for something outside of the scope of work to which I agreed upon? What's fair is fair; this hospital does not care about their patients. They should have just taken what the insurance covered for the stay (about $45,000), and leave me out of it. Go to Valley in Paramus instead of this place.

I had outpatient surgery on May 1, 2019. EVERY staff member was extremely friendly and made you feel like you were their only patient. The timing was punctual and they met my every need. They called me next day to check on me. I would HIGHLY recommend Englewood Hospital.

Awesome leaders in healthcare and patient blood management options.

The scheduling staff really needs to start paying attention. I came here an hour before my appointment and then they told me they can’t see me because they messed up my appointment.

The staff were very pleasant and caring.

I don't typically provide GOOD reviews, however after experiencing the attention and quality of service for my 80+ years young Mom at Englewood late yesterday afternoon, its my way of returning the appreciation. The entire staff, from the Valet Parking, ER check-in, efficiency and care of staff, nurses and in particular Doctor Rachna A Subramony, were entirely above and beyond measure. Full attention to detail and necessary tests were done, keeping us updated with each one, providing the necessary assurance that everything possible was being examined/diagnosed. Thanks to each and everyone of you. (including the unseen staff; Radiology professionals, blood analysts, nurses). God Bless you! Sincerely, Dean R.

I came to ER after being referred from urgent care. I was seen at urgent care right away and offered a course of antibiotics but they recommended I seek more immediate treatment in ER. I didn't have to wait too long, which was a plus. At triage, the nurse asked me the standard questions- what's wrong, my allergies, what I'm here for. My vitals were taken WHILE I was answering questions without informing me they were going to be taken. After that, I was asked for a urine sample, again no information as to why OR information that they were going to do a lab pregnancy test- after I said I'm not... I asked about insurance they said later, later... after waiting I saw the PA. She asked me the SAME questions the nurse did, no sign that she read any notes beforehand. I repeated myself. She left the room, didn't ask if I had any more questions, then the financial coordinator came in. Took my information, informed me of the co payment. Gave me paperwork to sign that I consent to treatment.... PA comes back in gives me a little more information, asks me about medication offers me two choices doesn't really explain what each individual one is for, except that I had some previous knowledge so I had an idea, then after asking I found out what my diagnosis was--- again- after asking. The bed had a sheet with yellow stains on it, so I didn't sit on it. No plastic or anything covering...Anyway, they called in medication to my pharmacy said that it's open till 12am, which I found strange- I know everything by me closes early. Needless to say, wrong pharmacy, it was closed not sure who they spoke to... then the right one was called in already after I called back and said it's the wrong pharmacy on the sheet and that one is closed- (all day Sunday). I didn't get asked if I wanted anything for pain after reporting it as a 5/10 (just a side note). Then I see on my after visit summary I had a lab test for a pregnancy test- which I didn't consent to, after calling they said it's standard protocol. I wasn't seen by the doctor yet, and maybe if I was asked or told what it was for I would feel differently about it. I work with dentists and we do not have patients take a urine test before taking X-rays. (Easy insurance lab charge? By the way their labs are listed as out of network). I would hope that for any other "safety protocol" tests they would ask the patient for their informed consent and have informed consent paperwork signed BEFORE lab tests, not after, and not as a surprise. As far as I knew they were holding it for perhaps a potential need for a test. But doing it before hand and without explaining and without my consent is not legal. Rushing and expediting treatment is not a way to treat patients.

I have to say that I am really surprised by the 5-star reviews because I do not think I have ever been to a worse-run clinic. I cannot comment on the quality of care because the administration is so dysfunctional that I have not even been able to get my prescribed tests done. Sure, the decor is pretty. Nice marble lobby. "Free" valet parking. But I have been scheduled for screening mammography and bone density scanning 3 separate times now over the past 4 months and each time there was a problem with my paperwork that prevented me from getting the tests done. The first time was because they could not find the prescriptions that I thought my primary care doctor had faxed over. Okay, mistakes happen, so I called my primary doc the next day and asked them to resend them. But when I arrived for appointment number two (after calling to confirm that the Rx had been received), they told me my tests would not be covered because it was only 6 months since my last mammogram. What, I asked, I haven't had a mammogram in >5 years! Well, it turns out they had me confused with another patient with the same name AND no one was able to figure out what happened to the scrip my doctor sent so they refused to do it and made me reschedule. This was not such a small mistake: mixing up patient records is pretty appalling. Still the staff were apologetic and clearly embarrassed that I was going to have to make ANOTHER appointment. So the time for my 3rd appointment rolled around and, after going through all the intake questions (including my email address so they could reach out me and I could then access the EPIC portal) everything FINALLY seemed to be going right. Until I was asked to sign a form that the clerk described as a privacy notice but that also included acknowledgement that not all the services (notably those of the radiologist who would interpret the test) were necessarily covered by my insurance. Having been burned by this kind of practice in the past (to the tune of literally thousands of dollars) I put the brakes on and said wait, I need to call my insurance company because they precertified only the EH breast care center and I have no idea whether my insurance covers the other providers. As luck would have it, the insurance company was closed for the day, so I once again had to forego the testing. Adding insult to injury, when I called today to get the provider information, I was first transferred to the billing department, where after 21 minutes on hold, I was told they did not have the information and was transferred back to the Breast Center. When I asked the admin if she could email the necessary provider numbers to me, she told they "don't send patients emails" (even though they ask us for our email addresses????); when I asked if she could fax it, she responded that she was very busy and, without another word, transferred me back to the billing department. I am speechless. I guess it's time to check out some other providers. Valley Hospital, perhaps?
