I will never use this hospital again. The NP was not very smart and had the personality of a fire hydrant. this was on a Sunday at 10 am when there were only myself and one other person in the ED. She never introduced herself, never asked my name, never looked at me, and did not diagnose what was really wrong. This NP should never work with the public. If she hates her job so much, she needs to seek employment elsewhere. As a clinic director, I would never allow someone as miserable as this to work for us. Human Kindness? I don't think so.

Very bad hospital. Nurses where very chatty and unprofessional. I was badly inform about my sons medical condition.They took a long while to see us plus they prescribed me the wrong medication. “Only go here if your life isn’t important to you.”

Very rude staff, and the other patients there waiting for hours caught there attitude in the ER. I have a blood clot in my leg. I suffer from A Fib with history of blood clot and strokes. They told me to put ice on it! Wow

Really the wait was ridiculous however I'm thankful to Dr Moerke Brett I know it's thee ER and you're supposed to be seen for your main problem he checked more into my need that day as I told him I was there a week before and they took care of the pain but that's not what I wanted I needed to know what was wrong well he order a CT scan blood work and he gave me answer's and prescribed the perfect antibiotics thank God and him for listening to me .

I went there, and after 4 hours asked a nurse if i should wait or stay and she became very passive aggressive. .and gave me the evilest look. Whwn i was walking out of the hospital she got behind me and screams at the top of her lungs a payients name. Wierd because they have a p.a. system. Really hurt my ears. It says mercy..but a few satanic people there. Its a hospital that primarily cares for homeless, and prison inmates. Nice people in there as well. But if you can ..go to a different hospital.GO. God does things for a reason. .maybe good i left. John 3 16.

After spending several years in hospitals and ER with Don Imhoof, I am happy to say we actually met a very caring and thorough ER physician at Mercy SW, Dr. Crowe. Though we did not find the triage nurse very friendly the ER staff in back made the short wait for services much more pleasant. I hope Mercy SW and the Dignity Healthcare system continues hiring staff that listens and works with their patients to make their stay as short as possible.

I went to the ER because I experienced bleeding during pregnancy & the nurse was so rude! I was waiting for 9 hours to be seen by the Dr. Finally when I was called in the dr didn't even bother to give me an ultrasound or hear my baby's heartbeat! All he said that "the bleeding MIGHT be because i had a bit of a UTI (urinary tract infection).The following day i experienced bleeding again & went to a different hospital & the dr there said i was experiencing a possible miscarriage and that i had no trace of a UTI! So yea Mercy Hospital gave me wrong information never will i go there again.

So here are the pro and cons list: im a RN with 11 years of experience, whose has worked for magnet level hospitals most of my career...this has been the most uneven experience ive ever had in a hospital setting and here is why! Pros: extremely friendly staff.....seriously, very lovely people...Connie 2 in surgical holding, and Kat in PACU were fantastic. Next, well maintained facilities..they are older but very clean. Finally, the doctors are not afraid to engage their patients and explain things very well Cons: HIPAA violations left and right from computers left open with patient info on the screen to nurses/doctors talking about other cases, with patient names by the way. Next, people caring for my grandma seemed to have a real problem washing there hands and/or using hand gel. I get your busy but come on guys...thats Nursing 101. Finally, make sure you have somebody at that admitting desk at all times when your open. This is your first impression guys. When people walk through the entrance doors someone should be there to greet them the minute they crossed the threshold into your facility. When we got here, nobody was there and i had to search out someone to help us. That is not ok! In conclusion, just be better....stick to those JCHACO standards and dont deviate because if you do, people like me notice and will post poor reviews!!

I came in on 1- 18- 2017 with chest pains and right arm numb blood pressure over 200 . I was treated immediately and was given the best treatment possible all staff on duty , nurse , and doctor were incredible. I recommend this hospital .

Do yourself a favor and avoid this hospital, my mother passed out in the waiting room from blood loss do to a miscarriage, when i yelled for a nurse and told her what happened she peeked through the door and said "At least she's sitting down" and walked away! I went after her got her to wake up my mom and get her blood pressure checked and they finally let us in.

I have always had a compassionate visit. I was seen right away and never was treated in kinds way. Look, they are busy there and the way you are it is bad on you. Your narrow minded. No matter where you go people cough. And if you are so alert to that you need to come prepared no matter where you go or are at. Feel me. I thank those workers 21st Mercy so much for the care i received and I'm sure i am not the only one. I exspecially like the fact that they care enough to ask me do you feel ok in here and that allowed me to feel as safe as if i were in my daddy's arms . feel me. I took my brother there three times for shortness of breath, bloating in the stomach , rapid heart beats. His conditions was serious. You could just tell by looking at him there is something wrong and he's in a lot of pain. The first time all they did was test him and released him with some medicine. A week later he's back with the same condition. Shortness of breath but now he has chest pain and coughing. They kept him over night and released him with more medications . Another week later he's back in the ER. This is the third time same conditions now they ran alot more test, came and told us he has liver, kidney and heart failure. They released him the next day with more medications and a follow up at a heart clinic. Last Saturday he is still having breathing problems, chest pain and coughing. So we took him to SAN JOAQUIN HOSPITAL. The RN told us that he has an abnormal heart beat that can cause him to have a heart attack anytime and needs surgery right away. He has been at SJH for 4 days now under the care of caring nurses and today was his surgery day. I will never ever go to Mercy again and WOULD NOT recommend it.

We were told that this facilitie was fast service in the er, boy they are wrong. Came in here for some blood work, seven hour's later we still have not seen the doctor. This place a joke.

Family is pretty pissed that they sent my sick diabetic grandpa home . Without getting the help he needed. Nobody in the family knew what was wrong with him.so of course they bring him here to get help. Which he didnt. He then went to another doctor for help he has now had his toes cut off from catching gangrene. My family called and contacted them many times to ask why he was released from here when he was sick. And they yet to provide an answer. But he is doing a bit better now no thanks to this hospital. Hope that anyone else that goes to this hospital get the treatment they properly deserve.

My brother was in need and the staff at Mercy answered the call when no one else would. My family has a strong Catholic belief and is grateful that such a hospital exist. The core values that the hospital is founded on is a great story in itself. Enourmous thanks to the Surgeon and the staff for providing our family with the chance to continue the battle with cancer.

My 78 yo mother was admitted to hospital with elevated heart enzymes and dizziness and release the next day with no cardiac work up and everything was attribute to a fall 3 days before. My best rating of the hospital is mediocre services as it best and will not set foot in this hospital again only if was death and being fully coded and its the closest hospital nearby. The nurses were only concerned that we were staying longer because my concerns and there were discharge orders since the morning.

My old friend has no family in town and was hospitalized yesterday and taken to Mercy. I am out of town and so I have been trying repeatedly to contact him or even his nurse to find out how he is doing. I have repeatedly called and have been repeatedly misdirected, disconnected, and handed off to people who have no idea what my simple question is. "How is he doing"? I am appalled and shocked at the discordance I have experienced on such a simple phone call. May GOD please help him while under the "care" of this facility.

We are #angry and #frustrated with Mercy Hospital on Truxton. I'm writing this at the end (I hope) of 4 very long days here. My mother-in-law has Stage 5 brain cancer. Our #1 complaint is that we are constantly out of the loop. My husband is the one calling HealthSouth, calling Cedars-Sinai, Medicare, etc. We're trying to get her transferred to Cedars-Sinai so that she can have the world expert on her type of cancer operate on her tumor(s). She was diagnosed almost 2 months ago, and we're still struggling to get her the right treatment, even though this is a VERY aggressive form of brain cancer and we are very short on time. Our #2 complaint is how long it takes for the nurses to attend after the button is pressed. From the time we press the button to the time someone comes in the room, we average over thirty minutes. Disappointing, to say the least. My mother-in-law is in 2 West. We don't know if the nurses are severely understaffed, are incorrectly assigned, or are just lazy. Even the personnel outside of the nurses seem to take ages. Case manager, especially. We just don't feel like they care.

Do not go to this hospital its cursed you will not get out lived! Most of the staff in the ICU are unprofessional. My mom was in ICU for 4 days before she passed away and by experience first hand I don't think they care if anyone loses a loved one. The patients are treated like rag dolls when in life support. I feel the staff and doctors could of tried harder to save my mother, but to them its just another elder close to death and has no chance. I will never recommend or go to this hospital again. Their was one ICU nurse Katie that did show concern and care towards the family and mom, but everyone else showed none. Very cold staff heartless.

Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any hospital. I don't usually rate but today did it for me. I am a a pregnant woman that had been in pain from the moment I walked in. Got there at 1030am took some blood work and a urine test thinking they would do something for me quick, still there at 4pm and STILL not one single nurse or doctor had came to talk to me. I asked what was going... There was so many people behind me that kept being called back and I kept asking the nurse and I told him "I've been here since 1030 I'm pregnant and I have pain!" He straight up just said "no ma'am I can't do anything for you. Ambulance just pulled in and we need the rooms" I've never felt so angry at a person as much as I did today.. I will never return to this hospital. They did nothing to see if my baby was or okay or if I was okay.. Worst hospital ever.

A nightmare! If possible stay away from this hospital. I spent four long nights at the dt location. A total of four staff thought I was a different patient..When discharged I was given someone elses discharge info. I was the one that brought it to the nurses attention. This was hell on earth!

Son went in and has had great care, attentive nursing staff and doctors. He too is very pleased. Staff moved him to a quieter room so he could rest and recover better. Exhaustive tests done to get at causes of his medical issues. I'd recommend Mercy downtown to anyone. And I was born there @ 65 years ago!!!
