Worst hospital I have ever been. Three hour wait for an ER visit and still waiting!!! Doesn't seem organized at all.

Never Never again! Worst experience of my life. Presented at Emergency this Monday Labor Day around Midnight, with severe shoulder chest and arm pain-I have to state I was seen promptly and the Doctors and staff in emergency were excellent. The nurses were excellent too- however the rooms were an absolute nightmare and the ward is totally out of control with so much noise, loud TV, cellphones screaming on speaker , I got 3 hours sleep in three days- when I complained to an elderly charge nurse at night she told me" well your not at home" - that's the attitude the charge nurse had. The CNa's are totally out of control and will just storm into your room in the middle of the night turning on lights and making unnecessary noise- imagine trying to recover from surgery! - they have loud conversations outside your room with their colleagues and loud conversations on speakerphone in the middle of the night. The worst part for me was I was discharged with the exact same conditions I came in with, even after telling them that I believed the source of my pain was spinal stenosis- but they decided to focus on my heart- they just don't listen to patients- even after offering to provide copies of my previous MRI. I only saw my Doctor in charge for 3 minutes the following day- and her statement was" well I don't necessarily need the see you in person- and then she just discussed my discharge- amazing they already had a discharge date- before all my tests were complete. The cardiologist and all the staff who treated me were excellent. In my opinion, based on my treatment, there is a major mismanagement issue. So I was discharged with the exact same condition I came in with- severe pain and no resolution.

Garbage hospital, terrible staff over 24 hours and have not seen a Dr my mom is in pain and all we keep hearing is "the Dr is not returning calls"

My 1st surgery, cervical, and I can not tell you how fantastic this hospital, its staff, especially my nurse Edward, who was just exceptional, a credit to their nursing staff this knows his stuff, his knowledge is and was such a comfort, knowing you have someone that genuinely cares about his patients, along with his knowledge of what going on with his patients, and is always two steps ahead, and is ready to answer any and all your questions, and he can answer them legitimately, and the goes the extra mile to make sure you understand completely. This alone was such a God send especially when your hurting scared comming out of surgery and my first ever and I went in scared woke up, hurting, scared, and stupid to what to expect, which was very short lived, because of the staff as a whole, Edward was the exception, but the staff from top to bottom was exceptional, and I'm taking the time to write this because, I heard everybody's un solicited hospital war stories from everywhere which by the way, was so uneeded and unwanted by me to hear, really! Prior to my surgery, and then to have such a waccident experience, I mean considering post cervical fusion of 3 disks, (no picnic) but , it made all the difference in the world, and it wasn't by accident, no way! They knew what they were doing, and care enough to do it that way, and I challenge any hospital to do half as well, and there "d be a lot of people leaving hospitals worse case senario hurting but smiling, I found myself conflicted by wanting to stay another night, this going in with the mentality the quicker I can get out the better off I would be. Here, this hospital changed that. Sorry bout my wind but you needed to hear and feel me. I thank each and everyone of you at FV Regional Hospital! Tyler Davis... Healing well

Very nice nurses and janitors

I was patients here in this hospital. My experience with them was wonderful the Nurses, Doctors and Surgeon were every helpful with information telling what is going on with my health. ER hospital was quick and fast. The only thing I didn't like was hospital food. They serve regular diet and super diet. I barely ate them. Other stuff was good like fruit, banana as real food. I hope this information will be helpful for other on decisions.

Amanda Corzine

This hospital sent me to collections 4 months after having a baby there because I hadn't paid off the labor and delivery bill yet. Wouldn't work with me at all on payments or anything. Absolutely ridiculous.

I was a patient n taken by paramedic here few year ago. I was admitted after Hoag didn't have a bed for me. MD attempted to do the procedure called embolism. Very next day I met

Very filthy place and unsanitary.. trash every where and rude staff

Denise Nunez

I've been her twice for two seperate different outpatient surgerys . Great very courteous helpfully staff. Easy sign in very clear after care help. I got there super early only concern is how dark the parking lot is no lighting no clear signs no markings on the ground. I didn't feel safe how dark and empty it was outside at that time. it's an accident waiting to happen.

I had several surgery's at this hospital excellence Doctors and nurses and staff every one treats me like I am there own son I highly recommended this hospital to all you out there, they deserve 5 stars

Miss King / Lynn Spoonamore

I love this hospital and all the staff, surgeons Dr kaun, ,Dr Ryan his assistant nurses, doctor's ,and even cafeteria and food servers, and security officers I especially love the physcial therapy man that is on the first floor that walked with me he is a crack up. Thank you for helping me get well.

Dennis Chastain

I went here to get medical attention for a disease I was diagnosed with in October of 2018 (Myasthenia Gravis), I was having a flare up and needed to receive an IV to basically cure it. Instead I was given Narcan, an opioid overdose reversal drug, without any attempt to get my consent or any valid reason for such a drug to be administered! Thus making me violently sick and worse than I was when I arrived there.

Natalia Ava

Thank you for taking care of me, and comforting me during my CT myelogram, i needed it.

Poor communication, dirty, social workers don't care and unprofessional. Go to orange coast memorial on brookhurst and talbert instead.

This hospital was horrible, the ER nurse was kind. My mom went into this hospital for surgery in three days she passed away, the nurses in ICU did not give a darn about my mom, to them your just another job. No bedside care at all. The night nurse caring for my mom or should I say lack there of was a something else, she was rude to me and my mom, she as I found out later by my sister in law that this nurse kept my mom sedated so she would not have to deal with her. Yes my mom had a mouth on her and yes she was a firecracker, this is their job and if they can not deal with a hard patent then they should not be in this line of work period. To sedated or knowen as chemical restraint is wrong. This is what she did to my mom.. My mom was sick and God only knows what she gave my mom to sedated her was the reson for her stroke and her death.... You know who you are and I know what you did to my mom I saw you work with her and you were rude to her and unkind to a sick elderly woman, you were rough with her. I know one day you will need the care of a nurse and I hope you get one twice and worse as you were to my mom...

This is the worse hospital ever. My daughter was transferred there and it was the worst pediatric dept ever...the nurses didnt know what to do..i had to ask them to check my daughter's temperature and she had one..took an hour and a half to get Tylenol. She mever came back to ever re check it..i had to ask..isnt that the first thinf they learn? Then she contradicts herself saying my daughter cant have a certain pain meds amd that definitely not a narcotic one and later when i told her she was in pain she needed more meds she said how about morphine? Wait didnt you say earlier she couldnt? The drs asst reallg got under my skin talking to me like i was a child..literally to the point where i was thinking to myself are you kidding me? And never stuck to the point of why we were there..and everytime i spoke she then again apoke to me like i was an idiot..the 19 hours we were there nothing was done af all just an iv she had from previous er. I signed her out against there rules and since weve been home and ive followed the previous er room directions shes been fine.. NEVER EVER WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND THIS PEDIATRICS

Never ever go to this hospital. Even the laboratory tests are way expensive than the other laboratories in town. Gave me a quote for outpatient surgery which was completely off. Was charged 60000 dollars more than the quoted price. It was an outpatient surgery and a common surgery I was discharged on the same day. My surgery was only for 20 minutes. And I feel ripped off . I researched thoroughly before the surgery and still got a bill which was 50000 more than other hospitals nearby. Not to forget everything was in network. Nobody was out of network. Its worse experience ever When I try to talk to the hospital regarding the bill they didn't even listen. The price of injection have thousand percent markup when compared to normal pharmacy. They dont even listen to you . It is hospitals like these who make peoples life miserable. Also the hospital wasnt even clean and didn't even give me a blanket after surgery when I was shivering with cold due to anethesia side effects.

I love this hospital I had 2 kids delivered. I love the staff always helpful.

I have been here twice, unfortunately they have such a complex parking and building structure that you will lost every time. Also Patient service is not the exceptional.

Last night, September 22nd, 2016, My grandfather, who named Duchien Nguyen, a dementia patient checked in to Fountain Valley Hospital, ER # 5 (Emergency Room, Room # 5). At about 11:30PM, We asked a CNA to change diaper for patient, 2 CNA, who named Derrick and Johnaton B acted so rude, with a bad attitude yelling at us then with a weird gesture using strong force to turn my grandfather, a dementia patient to be broken bone. We would bring this matter to your administrative office to have some sort of correction. Great Consideration! Thank You Very Much

Michelle Nye

2 days and had to discharge myself because no doctors would show up as promised.

Even with "In quicker" I still had to wait like 2 hours. After having diagnosed, had to wait 2 more hours for prescription :/

We just delivered the baby at FVRH. This is our second one and I can say it was outstanding experience. Labor and delivery was great with the nurses that knew what they were doing. Ms Sydney was so motivational and helped get baby out quickly. Of course our doctor Michael Vizcarra came on time and was on call throughout the night to guide nurses. He is the OB doctor we have came across. All Nurses were great in after delivery care. We were blessed to have Ms Cari, Ms Stacy- both of them did outstanding job to help us with questions, education and left with mom like experience. Ms Ginger was life saver for our baby the way she handled the critical situation and got it under control. We are so thankful for what she did. We are in Irvine, it was worth drive and hospital referred by our Dr Vizcarra exceeded expectations in all aspects..

My little one was transferred from CHOC to this hospital due to insurance coverage. I was skeptical about this hospital but my daughter and I had a great experience. They took really good care of her , her nurses and doctors who visited her were always attentive and caring to her needs. It was an overall great experience until my baby was discharged from pediatrics.

Came into the emergency room for severe vertigo and vomiting. I’m not normally the type of person that goes to the ER for the slightest bought of illness, but I couldn’t even walk in a straight line or stand up straight. I didn’t receive any blankets, no IV fluids despite vomiting and dehydration, and I don’t mean to sound like an old person but I was freezing. I was in the hospital from 12AM to 9AM the next morning and then promptly and rudely kicked out by one of the nurses. I had to beg for a wheelchair, still unable to walk.

Emma Hoang

Fountain Valley is an incompetent hospital. My eighty year old grandmother was to be transferred at a nursing home to recover, and they decided to do it at 11:30 pm with none of the family present. For some reason, the staff didn’t inform any of our family: no calls, no messages, nothing. This morning we come in, and we can’t find her in the hospital. The staff takes almost forty minutes to figure out where the hell they sent to her, and told us the INCORRECT LOCATION, before finding the correct nursing home that they sent her to and were unable to explain how they didn’t call the family even though we left our numbers for them and directions to call us if any changes were to occur. That’s quite frankly unacceptable and I’m shocked at their lack of professionalism and irresponsiblity.

Worse hospital ever wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait for ever will never ever come here again

I am a Nurse and happen to work at a UCC that sees a lot of issues similar to an ER, just no trauma, heart issues, or strokes. We have been known to evaulate them and send them to the appropriate ER however. I had to be seen at FVH to rule out gallstones versus kidney stones. This would take mu UCC about 4 hours with labs and imaging and the patient would be onnpain management and fluids while waiting for labs. I was initially seen within 30 minutes in the ER and then forgotten to wait in the Lobby when there were orders for pain management placed by the MD. My blood labs were drawn with 30 minutes of me being put in the lobby, but urine was requested of me until 4 hours later. All while I was waiting in the lobby in pain, I eventually asked a staff member about my pain management orders and he contacted the nuring staff. I however ended up still in the lobby even at 9pm when the MD ordered medications for me at 2:30 or 3:00pm. I’m writing this review while I’m still waiting to be told about my results or whether they need to do imaging to see if I have gallstones or more kidney stones. I knew going into the Ear would be a wait due to the Flu season but I have never seen such a breakdown in protocol or FVH run so inefficiently before. Patients should be discharged in order to make room for new patients and older patients should be checked on before going to newer less serious patients. I will just have to wait to see how long I’ll be here in the ER waiting to know what’s wrong with me. I would go to my UCC if they took my private insurance and my wife knew how to drive on the freeway. I would be hime already if I was able to. People complain about the wait time where I work and it never exceeds 3 hours to be seen, while any ER near that location is traditionally a 5 to 10 hour wait this time of year. Most of the time it only takes 1-2 hours to be seen and discharged.

Worst hospital in the area. And that's saying UCI med is so much better. They send you to collection's before you pay your bill. My son got the worst treatment and he was going into cardiacarest.

Lisa Manring

My beautiful sis in in ICU..such nice people..

Rachel Cortez

The guy in er took my blood pressure and took off just left me there hanging to go talk that's not right to me I dint think they care bout your patients

A B

Rudest staff ever!!! The ultrasound technician Curtis pretty much told my mom that nothing is wrong with her because she’s not pain. The nurse decided to have a conversation about my mother in the hallway with another nurse about how she didn’t want her blood pressure or blood taken out from an arm she has blood clots in. Major HIPAA violation!!! If you don’t like working with people change professions.

hugh nguyen

bedside manners from some of the nursing staff need to be better

Sheila Burgener

Very good ER staff once you get through triage (rude and uninterested in what you might have to say). However, the EAST WING nursing staff is HORRIBLE, LAZY AND STUPID. My daughter is a nurse, and so I don't say this lightly. They're very clicky: nothing but Filipino nurses that jabber their own language at each other, about you, about your condition but say nothing when you ask questions. If you're in pain, you're a drug-seeker. Period. I've been a patient myself, and have had loved ones in there, too. It hasn't changed in five years. Horrible care, slow, lazy and inept.

JC vDrift13

I love all the sick people and the diseases this place has! Jk its always clean

Andrew Hermansen

worst f^^^ing hospital there is. my mom went in with the same thing they sent her out of the hospital with, but in worse condition. better to leave the sick on the side of the road. they would get better care.

Adela Trujillo

I am extremely dissappointed and propensly upset at this hospital. I had already heard about the lack of customer service here but wanted to give the hospital a chance. I had an appointment at 10pm tonight to get induced. It all started from the admitting person that did not even bother smiling or asking how they could help me. Then 40 minutes later a nurse comes out to only say they were no beds and to go home and call in the morning. Or that they would call me. I came from Moreno Valley and no one bother to call me that there was no room available. The hospital employees need to understand and be sensitive to this matter as pregnant women are already nervous. Not only this but my husband already had taken the day as well as my sister not paid. Now we have to wait at the hospital's mercy. This is ridiculous and very unprofessional. I cant imagine the rest of the treatment once your admitted. I can see this is not the first time its happened as Sarah Becera had the same treatment. Owner's need to resolve this issue at once.

Nice people

my dad has been in the hospital almost a week. first he was in ICU, Hoshi, and another one of their nurses, were very sweet & helpful. Jessica in ER, was very kind too. Honestly, we love the staff here, everyone is very friendly, caring, patient, and prompt. Im not sure why these people are complaining its dirty, and trash is everywhere. I absolutely did not see any trash or filth anywhere. Thank You FVRH, and thank you to their great team of nurses, Hoshi, Jessica, Fanny, the physical therapist, and lift guy. you are all ANGELS, and the doctors!

Natalie Aguilar

I was transferred here for an emergency gallbladder removal surgery. Everyone was great! They were fast, helpful and always kept me and my family informed. Anna, the night-shift nurse who took care of me post-op, was amazing! She was incredibly kind and always attentive to my needs. The OR nurses, Gabby and Andres, kept me calm before the operation. And Melody, the nurse in recovery, made me smile right after the procedure. And of course, Dr. Que Le, Dr. Nguyen, and Dr. Jackson were an amazing team! Oh, and thanks to Erin the nurse who discharged me :) Thank you to everyone who made my first hospitalization experience a smooth one!

jennifer leyva

My mother passed away here and the hospital lost her body. They sent her to the wrong mortuary and did it with out written consent. It took me 2 days to find out where they sent her. I was given the run around for 2 days before I found out where she ended up.....and I had to find out on my own the hospital was no help in locating her and staff would not call me back.

You’re Papi

Staff friendly, been to this hospital more than ten times never had issues.

My dad was there for a lung biopsy and the doctor accidentally caused air into his lung, so the nurse pushed him into the x-ray room to have x-ray, few minutes later, the nurse pushed my dad out of the room and said that there was an emergency case for another patient . They left my dad on the rolling bed in the hallway for hours, before he could have an x-ray done. My family were all waiting in the hall way with my dad, then they released my dad to go home a day later without any accomplishment. We had very bad experiences with this hospital. They don't have enough medical equipment to serve many patients at the same time. Everything there seems not be organized.

I have 4 kids all born in different hospitals this is by far the best treatment I've received as soon as i arrived at 4am took me straight to a bed nurses were very nice, communicative and very helpful i delivered my baby @4:39am without complications i have no complaints "if" i ever have another baby i will deliver here again!

Mimi Ortiz

Just had a surgery done at this hospital at first i was scared and sceptic but overall from the front desk to assistants to Drs they were all amazing i felt very calming and safe by all the helpful nurses and Drs. I would definately come to this hospital again 5 star experience. Thank you fountain valley regional hospital for your great care and hospitality.

Abby Garcia

Good hospital but took FOREVER, I was there for 4 hours.

Kelly Rackham

Fountain valley hospital and it's attending kept my daughter for 5 days in the hospital for 5 days for a simple case of gastritis. Which could have been discharged home within 5 hours. Simply to do a " complete" work up which could have been done outpatient. Simply to bill insurance for the money. The M.D. never gave us info nor did the RN when asked, they kept passing the buck.

Perly Nour

The WORST HOSPITAL with The WORST SERVICE. Do yourself or your loved one a favor, find another Hospital if possible you needed. The rooms are disgusting and very dirty. The stuff are very rude and unprofessional. Fountain Valley Hospital and specially the ER room has the worse staff and including incompetent prejudice doctors. Each doctors mocks the other doctors for services given to a certain patient. I myself was advised by one of the doctors their that i have been given dangerous medications by the other doctors working in the ER and he was surprised that they would give me such meds. To my understanding, what he is trying to tell me is that the other two Doctors that I've been dealing with for the past few months are incompetent and are putting my life at risk. Is this something I have to hear from a doctor working in the same ER? Other problems with the Hospital, Doctors at the ER don't even check you. They ask you few questions and send you home with pills. The only other way they keep you is when they want to make money of of you or your insurance. You go in for a headache, they run so many tests on you in order to bill the insurance and make themselves money. Bottom line, Fountain Valley Hospital is a joke. Please stay away from such a hell hole. Most of the doctors are incompetent and don't know what they are doing. They are there to do their 8 hour shift and go home. They don't care about their patients and never treat them with respect. I myself have suffered due to their malpractice and i will be pursuing legal action against them soon. Serious negligence and detrimental malpractice. Fountain Valley Hospital is Horrible. The ER nurses need to poke you 3 to 4 times in order to pull blood. They don't even know how to withdraw blood from the first time. Ask me... I have many bad experiences their. My experience with an emergency room visit ensured I would avoid this hospital at all costs. Again very unprofessional stuff. Dirty Facility and Doctors that are incompetent.

Crystal Parnell

LONG WAIT WITH an appointment. Consistently have to wait at least an hour...BEFORE even being registered into Admin where they then take a copy again of all your insurance? its scanned into The system, why not just ask if its changed? Modern technology people. Then you go back to waiting. The lobby is VERY small, volunteer staff near check in, are loud and a bit obnoxious. Not sure why they're not monitored considering their teens. They also talk about pretty inappropriate things considering where they work. The scheduler that calls for appointments never clearly state who they are until you ask several times. It's just not ran efficiently. Feels like I'm dealing with a hospital stuck in the early 90's. Once you're in though, the staff inside especially in radiology are great.

Tiff Nguyen

I just had my 2nd baby two months ago. I love the facts that the doctors and nurses are very caring and extremely nice. It really helps my labor went very smoothly. And I'm not a fan of the hospital foods, but the staffs are so nice. They always come in and ask if the foods are okay. Overall, I think Fountain Valley hospital has been improving a lot. I remembered when I had my son there 2 and a half year ago I didn't feel the staffs really care.

AVOID this place. The ER was fine, but the main hospital definitely deserves the "below average" ratings it receives from US News. My wife was admitted for bad flu on a business trip and did not see her assigned primary physician until day 2. The only doctor on day 1 was the neurologist - for perhaps 15 minutes (generous estimate) after she'd been in for 12 hours. The next physician visit was a return of the neurologist around noon on day 2. No kidding - one 15 minute visit from a specialist physician in the first 30 hours in a hospital room in Orange County CA. Nuts. My sense is the place is sub-scale so doesn't have physician staff who are dedicated to the hospital. All drive-by. And we waited 8 hours for a basic ultrasound to be read by the cardiologist. Nursing staff was pleasant. The building is worn out - Tenant Healthcare's business model would seem to be to run the patient through all the expensive tests, while keeping medical headcount to a minimum and deferring basic maintenance for the facility. The discharge process, when we finally got to it was smooth.

Fast check in, fast nurses and fast doctors and they r all friendly I can go on and on but all u have to know it its the best hospital in the O.C.

I was born here. Wednesday November 12th 1986

I was a patient there with bleeding of the brain from a fall two weeks back. My Christain boyfriend, Randy took me there and having been an Air Force medic figured that this going to be the diagnosis. So, we see a dr and she was very condescending towards something that I was saying and Randy did not have an issue with it but I wanted a different dr that could have some empathy for what I was going through. They fought it at first and Randy stepped in to tell again of my displeasure and one of the doctors said that "he was being aggressive with his eyes" Really??? They sent him out of the room, blocked the door with 4 cheap interns and got him out of the hospital. I said", Please, I need him here with me" They refused. I finally got a different dr but the scale from one to ten, ten being best. They were A 3. I give a two rating as the law of averages go. Oh. God brought me back to my Love very quickly with His fortitude of justice. One last thing, when I asked to speak to an "Ohmsbudsman," they had no idea what this person does! Look it up everybody! Thank you for reading.

Horrible dysfunctional hospital!!!! Do Not go here !!! Had an appt to be induced went in to the hospital early for my appt and the sent me back home because they over booked people and didn't have no beds !!! REALLY !!!! They said to call back later and so I did to see if there were any beds and still nothing !!! I didn't even get a call in advance ..... I am so upset my husband took off the day from work to be their and my mother took the day off as well to be there for support for no reason ... now the hospital is telling me they might not even see me today to be induced..!!!! I am so upset and stressed out ..!! I was going through a lot trying to mentally prepare myself and this happens now I don't even know if my husband can take off work another day for the birth of our son ... this hospital is so insensitive to people and their time !!! If your pregnant congratulations but trust me you do NOT WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABY HERE call the insurance in advance to see if you can switch to orange coast memorial a more beautiful organized hospital just 5 more minutes away !!.. To the hospital replying to the reviews don't bother apologizing to me when we already know your not going to do anything about it to fix the problem YOU HAVE CAUSED ME ENOUGH STRESS!!!!!!

Nancy Carrillo-Cruz

I love it so much ❤❤

I had my Knee Replacement done here in 2003 I love this hospital the people here are very nice and they really did take care of me and they took very good care of me when I broke my femur 2 months after I had my Knee Replacement done.

DiDi Unrue

I'm sitting in your Er right now in an anaphaltix shock!!!! I was told to sit down and wait!!!!! Really???? Does your risk management approve of this process??? When we asked one of your security guards to have a lady turn down her phone he Devin Abrhams was to busy on his cell phone to even notice the loud opera music that was playing!!!!!! So as I sit here and it gets harder to breath I guess it's OK because we have loud opera music and a security guard to busy playing on his cell phone to notice that my lips are turning blue!!!!!!

Gutierrez J.A

Very rude E R admin staff. I took my mother to outpatient emergency only on me to redirected to the hospital because she had a high blood pressure and she should be seen at once . the ER staff was extremely rude . trust me I will never be back.

daniel ledesma

I went in there with serious chest pains. I was sure i had a heart attack around the corner. I was fine, just under a lot of stress. I was treated so well. Every person that worked with me was very nice, passionate, warm, sensitive. So glad to have this hospital near by.

After staying in the horrible place and getting out and reading all these bad reviews I do not believe this place is still open.

I was born there. I'm still alive. They did a good job!

The worst staff ever , very rude , unethical, unprofessional, all the worst you could imagine , my daughter is scheduled for a surgery , she got sick badly & her nose is blocked completely...so I called to check if it's okay or not to have the surgery . A very rude lady answered the phone her name is Avalia Sotello insulted me after I gave her all my daughters information and I even spelled her name more than three times & she kept on talking asking me about a different person & I kept on saying no that's not my daughter's name , she started talking to someone next to her insulting me because I asked her that I want to talk to someone else , she threw the phone & said that I'm mean & told the other person deal with this sh.. . Anyway how can I trust people like that to take care of my baby after a surgery???? Hospital owners or who is in charge you need to take care of what is going on with your staff if this is in the surgery department, how would the rest be ??? I don't want to do my daughters surgery there , I can't imagine how would they treat her after all the reviews I have read .

Brianda Loza

I had to write a review in regards to my step daughters stay. Yesterday we found out my step daughter had to get her appendix removed. I was so

TheChosenOne

I love u all and am grateful for always helping me. I come here because of complications a lot but everyone is so nice and helpful it feels like a vacation, watching tv all day, talking to nurses etc. When i leave the hospital i always miss it and want to come back even when im not sick anymore.

Lori Downer-Davis

DRS. NURSES. ALL VERY KIND! ESPECIALLY TRICIA NIGHT NURSE..EUNIE DAY NURSE N LAURA NIGHT NURSE ....HERE SINCE Tuesday ....here till? :(

Adam Bein

I found Laura the Medical Surgical/Cardiac Floor Director appalling, embarrassing, angry, and petty. Likewise, the behaviour problems of some of the older Nursing staff in the building in the parking lot, as well as the older Staffing ladies, hostile.

josef rogers

Both of my children were born here 16 months apart. The doctors and nurses were fantastic for the most part. If my review just cover these visits it would be 5 stars. My wife had to visit the emergency department after our second baby. We were seen immediately and put in a private room. Again the staff was fantastic. Our surprise came when we received the bill. We chose this hospital that is covered in network by our insurance company but were charged out of network fees for a doctor to order tests and call in my wife's OB/GYN. How does an in network hospital have out of network doctors working in the ED when we have no way of knowing if the guy is covered under our insurance? What a scam.

Waiting 3 hours to check in, even I had very bad infection in bladder. Front lady just called people come after me. What's going on????????

Lexus Care

To all my fellow Sickle Cell Warriors , please PLEASE don’t come here EVER. You will wait and your pain will NOT be treated. It’s a joke, this place should just transfer patients to a different hospital if they can’t do their due diligence. The worst experience in my life!! Wish I could rate 0 star. But please don’t risk your life by coming here.

Jorge Martinez

I recently get out of the hospital After 11/2 days. I was At the surgery department. Even know i don't need a surgery. But the staff was nice. Especially. LENY and SAMMY, My day shift nurses they're so friendly and helpful. Nice persons.

Roberto Rodriguez

Unprofessional behavior, nurse rude and take for ever to assist and then they say deal with it.

Bruce Garica

My husband Branden quite garica work here Love Bruce duangmala garica

Mary

What can i say about this place , the nurses couldn't find my babies vein so they poked her about 4 times even though i asked if they couldnt find the vein that they should look for it with the ultrasound machine and they said no instead they had her crying from various pokes and they gave her expired enfamil . Nurse didnt even apologize only said ok we'll get you another one like if it wasnt a big deal. That milk was a week expired . Who doesn't check the expiration dates especially on what you're going to feed a baby !!! Plan on switching insurance ASAP ! PARENTS : Speak out for your child your the only one they can count on to defend them

Delia Quezada

I had my weight loss surgery here and I loved It! Everything about it! It was an amazing experience. A big thank you to the wonderful staff, doctors, MA, and RN’s they really showed they cared. All gave me excellent care. Would definitely have any procedure done here again with confidence.

I read practically all the reviews with open mind.... The good reviews showed appreciations for normal/minimally expected medical services at a hospital. The bad reviews really showed major problems with medical staff (from nurses to doctors); they have confirmed our experience at this hospital with 2 of our relatives, and quite a few people we knew. Doctors were all acting they were too busy to care, even for patients in critical conditions. An internist assigned to 1 of our relatives, whose job is to sync up with 4-5 other specialists to come up with best solution, but we saw each doctor worked on his/her own. For example, blood sample was collected per request of each individual doctor. So, 4-5 times each time, for 3 times per day. Patient's arms were badly bruised and at times blood could not be drawn (out of available vein!) Then, each doctor recommended his own medication and dosage with its own side effects, now multiply that by 4 or 5. Each doctor would make a visit for 5 seconds with bogus update and start to leave quickly; we had to ask them to repeat and update family with what the next step was. In the meantime the patient got weaker and weaker, sicker and sicker. One doctor said the drug of the other doctor was not effective, so she prescribed a more effective one - I pulled the daily record/report and found this note recorded. Finally the internist recommended hospice care (giving up on patient after making lots of money on tests and medications that were all worthless). When asked how safe to transfer our sick relative from ICU to Hospice place, disconnecting all the medications by IVs, the internist said she could die shortly without the medications. Why then recommending hospice care at such late stage?! I heard of at least 1 case when a patient died in 24 hours after leaving fountain valley place to hospice care facility. A lot of bad practices by all specialist at fv hospital, from cardiologist, lungs, kidney to several internists. We need to consult a law firm. Regarding nurses' services - it is very random. Some days you may get ones seemed to care; some, it's a job. At times, you cannot find them (taking break?), so we called and then waited....many times. One morning when I returned for a visit, a very mean nurse with visible tattoos said the patient would not let her inject insulin, so she did not do it! (The patient just came out of an invasive procedure and was confused) So let the sugar level stay high. So unprofessional! If you read this review this far, please do not let other hospital transfer your relatives in great medical needs to fountain valley regional hospital. At times we felt like they care more about making money than getting you well to go home. The doctors are all laid-back and unmotivated. When asked why our relative was feeling so bad, one doctor said, "Oh, she will get better in 2-3 days; it's normal"; well, she got worse. What an idiot! You may notice that whatever the patient's complaint is (pain or other), fv doctors will quickly assume it is heart related. They will do all sort of tests related to heart disease and this could take a toll on the patient. More money there, perhaps?! This happened to both of our relatives. Results came back with "no new news!" in one case. In both cases, the patients did not survive at the end, sadly. Do review other feedback and make informed decision. I wish I did that beforehand. I do have full record (notes/consultations/test results/etc.) and names of all doctors involved.

This has to be one of the WORST emergency rooms in orange county.....SO SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW......this place is pathetic

vikevin Tran

THE worst service, never expected to witness my loved one suffer in a room with the worst treatment. ill never forget. after my sick mom was taken to the ICU, one of the nurse kicked us out and she'll call us back in soon.. but she never did. so we then asked one of the random nurse to help us get back in. After we back into the ICU, the nurse rants to us while talking to my daughter and I with an inappropriate tone. When she finished ranting for no reason, she started asking my mom questions an extremely rude tone, treating my weak 85 year old mother with no respect what so ever.my mom got so scared, she couldn't look dead straight into the cruel nurse's eyes.

Leydi Hernandez

If it was for me I wouldn’t even give one star to begin with. This hospital sucks and nurses are the worst nurses I ever met They live you for hours and hours just waiting in a room for nothing. They don’t listen to you and they do whatever they want. Bad bad service and hospital I will never come again or bring my family here

Nicholas Do

Came into the ER today for my wife. Needed to know where the restroom was. BARBRA, is one of the most bad-mannered , impolite nurses I have ever met. My first time in this hospital and I would never want to be a patient here. Was looking for the restroom and asked her and she responded in such an insulting way as if I was a big bother to her. Nurses are not friendly here.

john watters

Had a medical emergency and the doctor and nurses were amazing!!! It's a busy Hospital but everything was clean!!! Thank you Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for your service to our community!!!

Carolina Vasquez

Brought my son with appendicitis, took 15 hours to see the doctor. Surgeon and doctor came in to notify me of an appendectomy 1 hour before the surgery. After surgery doctor never came to talk to us about anything. Not a hospital I would recommend specially not if you have a little one in pain ...

Mark Jenkins

We brought my brother, Deron, who is hearing impaired into the ER last night because he was in a car accident and complained about feeling nauseous. At first we were concerned as aesthetically the building is older and some construction is being performed in the parking lot but don't let this hospital's appearance deceive you. The care we received was A++. It didn't have the look of an upscale hospital which I have been accustomed to but who cares they took EXCELLENT care of us! We hardly had to wait to get in, get a CT, xrays, blood test, see the doctor, get a diagnosis, get medicated and out the door all starting about 11pm. Misspelling his name, but Dr. Armour was Excellent! Jessica, our nurse excellent! Everyone there triple thumbs up couldn't have been better! Professional, caring, quick, competent. Couldn't say enough positives. Great work Fountain Valley Regional Hospital. Mug shot of Deron below. : ) -mark

Duy Vo

how are you a nurse(s) at the hospital and dont even know where the patient is locate? kept on getting transfer, and no one would let me know where my father is !!!!!!!

Mark Oehlerking

The only reason I am giving two stars is because the nurse was very nice otherwise this might be the worst Hospital I ever been to you I was in excruciating back pain and they made me wait almost 3 hours and gave me a flex all muscle relaxer did absolutely nothing for my pain and wanted me to wait another hour to look at my urine sample to make sure I didn't have a urinary infection I told them it was my sciatic nerve and they still wanted me to wait another hour and the waiting room on those chairs I could not stand the pain anymore and had to leave come home and take my pain medication I will never go back there I am changing my insurance plan this is totally uncalled for very bad Hospital.. I am 52 years old and I have never had a hospital not treat me for pain this was the first and definitely the last

Rene Fernandez

The nurses and other staff were great well attentive My son was delivered here as for the attending Dr., a Dr. DANG WHO WORKS IN LABOR AND DELIVERY IS A RUDE ASS HAT. My wife was discharged after having a c section. He prescribes her a narcotic pain killer on a non secure paper triplex security paper, get to the pharmacy we get told they can't fill it. We go back to the hospital. The Dr. Calls and says he has never had the issue before go get it filled. ALL THE NURSES ARE EMBARRASSED BECAUSE HE IS TO STUBBORN TO WRITE A PROPER PRESCRIPTION and they explain the security measure to him as well and yet nothing. we beg the pharmacist to call him and explain this to him. What does he do. He lowers the prescription to a Tylenol he can order over the phone. Lazy ass hole. So now she's crying in pain and going to the ER for her pain. Great job Dr. DANG DON'T LET THIS GUY NEAR YOUR KID

Laura Rosales

This is a very nice hospital. Everyone is very friendly! The food was not that bad. I had my gall bladder surgery here. And I recover very quickly.

Carl Kroesen

Upon arrival reception recognized mi situation and put me in a wheelchair. They asked me so questions and wheeled me into a treatment room, they got from my wife the rest of the information they need. At all times they had someone near me. I expect to be here some 3 day's, I might revisit.

Rob Gal

They treat you so kindly and as 4e very friendly

Resa

Do not visit this hospital period. I would give this place ZERO stars. The staff here are demeaning and negligible of their duties especially the nurses in the icu. They act as if they're better than everyone else and look down on both the patients and their families. They verbally abuse the patients and the families who visit. It takes bribery with gifts and food for them to even properly perform their duties but even then their attitude is trash (It was a family member of mine who bought food for the staff but I do not condone such behavior. There's a difference between a gift and a bribery with one being a form of gratitude and the latter not. This was definitely not a gift based on how they treated this family member). The doctors are equally unprofessional with one comparing surgery to dissecting a chicken. This place gives all medical professionals a bad name. The staff and their competency here all needs to be re-evaluated.

Cali Ghost

TEAM is an acronym for "Together Everybody Achieves More," however, when a single individual, or a clique of Team Members that work here aren't doing their job to what they know to be the best of their abilities, it creates a multitude of inconveniences for many people who are in dire need of care. Everyone should know that being great at what you do is doing your duties as instructed on a consistent basis, day in & day out, & going the extra mile for others at given opportunities. This place would receive better acknowledgement if everyone here collectively at least attempts to be the best version of themselves while they're at work. I'm no doctor, nurse, or phone operator, however, the people who work here are & only they know what it takes to be good at their job. Some may simply choose to just go through the motions & that simply IS NOT enough to thrive & excell. My intention with this review isn't to come off as me trying to tell others how to do a job that I don't have an elaborate understanding of, but I'm sure that most of you reading this will catch my drift.

Maria Segura

Nurses, Doctors and staff are extremely nice and understanding. I've been to several hospitals including St Joseph and never received the same quality service as I received here. They are tentive and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. I will continue to go here for any emergency care.

Bill Green

I went in for a routine procedure and was given an estimate. When I got the bill the charge was almost 3 times what they estimated! When I called collections they said the original amount was an estimate only and that the procedure was more involved than they had originally thought. So what did they do that would require triple charges??? The doctor's report reflected better health than the previous procedure. It was only when I sued them in small claims court that they agreed to settle for a fraction of the cost before the court date. They agreed to take the bad entries off my credit reports. I decided to give them a few months and they still didn't take off the bad marks on my credit so I had to make the effort to have these entries removed. My lawyer said they increase the charges so the insurance companies will pay. Your insurance premiums are higher because of places like this!

Paul Ho

Serious negligence and detrimental malpractice. Do yourself and your health a favor, avoid this place.

Cody Lindsay

I was here about 4 years ago brought by ambulance, forget if it was from HB or from another hospital like Hoag or something, but I was brought here bc my insurance wouldn't take me at the first hospital I went to at the time (think it was Hoag). I was brought by ambulance to Fountain Valley Regional ER, can't remember much of the details but had a horrible experience. I was talked to as if I were a "problem child", wasn't allowed food or water, bedside manner was non existent, nurses were rude and always lying, never got to even see a doctor, and wasn't allowed to leave (I was on a 5150). I was eventually transferred to ETS on Bristol & Warner where I endured much more severe treatment. It looked kind of new inside for 2013 but it was run-down looking too. Like it was recently remodeled but not taken care of. It looked way older than Hoag on the inside but still fairly new. Overall it was a horrible experience I was not here by choice I since needed to return to Hoag later that year and my insurance took me there no problem. If you have a choice, go to Orange Coast Memorial right down the street, if you don't have a choice, pray you get out of here or transferred to another hospital ASAP. At least it's not Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, or West Anaheim Hospital, those places are even worse and they scam you too. Fountain Valley Regional never scammed me or sent me a bill but I was sure treated horribly here. UPDATE 2018: Long wait in the ER up to two hours, still has somewhat newer but run down facilities, apathetic check in staff. I walked out and went elsewhere. Not worth the wait, especially in extreme pain or with flu like symptoms

Alex Larrabee

Did a damn good job of removing that brain tumor I had! Thank you so much!

Paul Alfery

Ended up in the ER twice due to my wife being in excruciating pain due to a tooth infection. No priority was given to her even though the other patients waiting could see how much pain she was in. After an hour, they took vitals (nothing for pain) and sent us back out sit for another 30 minutes. Took blood, wait another 30 minutes in the waiting room. Finally got her back to a room where they proceeded to tell us "we're not dentists". I explained we're here for pain management! We won't go back. This does not feel like a caring, well run facility in any way.

James Spears

thought I was having an allergenic reaction to honey bee stings after being stung about 8 times within a minute. My symptoms were sweating, tingling in my hands, feet and having severe chest pains. My wife rushed me to Family one Medical Center. After being examined by Dr. Gayle Harper, she immediately called Fountain Valley Fire Department paramedics. Arriving quickly they rushed me to the Fountain Valley Emergency room where I was sent directly to the cardiac floor. Arriving there I was given an angiogram and very quickly after that Dr. Jesse Wasley began the heart catheter process inserting a stent (with excellent precision) that opened a 95% blocked artery in my heart,. The teamwork and training demonstrated by the cardiac catheter team was truly remarkable! Although this was my first experience with any heart problem I know that the speed between my entering the emergency room and receiving treatment was within 10 minutes and beyond expectations. I was then transferred to intensive care where monitoring and treatment was given to me by the most caring medical personnel I have ever encountered; everyone treated me as if I were a family member rather than a patient! Fountain Valley Hospital will continue be my choice for any future medical treatment for me and my family! James L. Spears, Fountain Valley Resident

Isabelle Felix

I'm here at the hospital at the moment in the obstetric emergency part, I came yesterday to do a monitoring and I needed to stay, I really have nothing to talk about the staff treat me very well! What is making me extremely upset is that I haven't taken a shower yet, they didn't give me anything for hygiene or to brush a tooth, but the worst thing is that the food came in a cold disposable dish! And with a very bad taste! both times I had the same thing chicken and carrot noodles, came a crusty bread, and I'm pregnant! I'm really starving here! I would not recommend this hospital to pregnant women! I am very looking forward to leaving! bad experience!

Ruben Marchan

I just had surgery and they were awesome

Fountain valley hospital and ER are amazing great staff great doctors and thanks to them I'm able to spend time with my family and daughter and eat almost everything without the fear of ending up in the hospital almost for 3 years dealing with the same pain over and over I would go to my nearest ER and they treated me ok but made me feel like a drug addict they would turn me away and just tell me I have gall stones and give me hard norcodics and send me on my way and never wanted to help me fountain valley took the time to look at my history without judging me or making me feel like I'm crazy the other hospital would give me bogus answers making me feel like I'm making this up and sending me to a bone specialist and a stomach specialist and no one could come up with an answer fountain valley operated me and removed my gall stones with my gall bladder it was a fast recovery and I'm able to do so much more then I could before I'm extremely happy and grateful to everyone who helped me thanks to you I can have a normal life .....

Lendi Castaneda

We have been here quit a few times and all the staff is wonderful a big THANK YOU to all the staff and doctors

I had a situation where one of my staff member injured his back at work approximately 12:30pm. I directed him to Fountain Valley Medical Hospital and received a call at 4:33pm, that they haven't seen my employee, because they didn't have authorization.

I’ve meant to write this review for a month or so now, since my husband came home it’s taken some time to adjust fully, but I figured it’s time for me to thank everyone that we met during his stay in this amazing hospital. My husband woke up at 6:00 AM and couldn’t tell me what was wrong with him. He stumbled on his words and repeated over and over ‘My name is Alex, Alex are you ok?’ And couldn’t feel his right arm. I rushed him to the emergency room, and to keep it concise- everyone but the charge nurse was extremely helpful. She was extremely judgemental and assumed we were there for drugs right off the bat- but we did look pretty rough considering we woke up out of a dead sleep and rushed over. She bluntly broke the news to us that my husband had a stroke, and she softened a bit after having him take a drug test. She however did not like that he was prescribed cannabis for his chronic back pain, and had a patronizing tone to her voice.. We thought it was humorous. But that’s beside the point- After he was moved to telemetry, and shortly after East tower telemetry, everyone we met was outstanding. It warmed both our hearts to have met people so kind, personable, and caring on their floor. We had many laughs, conversations, even short interactions that brought a smile to our faces. I think that was a huge help to my husband’s recovery- he started improving within a few hours after. Everyone from our Doctors and nurses, to case managers and lab personnel coming to draw blood- everyone made us smile and feel welcome. My husband stayed at Fountain Valley Reigonal for 6 days, and every day I felt fortunate to have driven him to this hospital. They took every precaution and ordered tests to get to the root of the problem, all while keeping my husband comfortable and his mind at ease. They think stress was a contributing factor to the stroke, and my husband and I were on edge that we don’t have insurance. Our doctor assured us that my husband would receive all the treatment he needs, and will not be treated differently because we are uninsured. They even helped connect us to an insurance company that could help us after discharge. My husband and I will be forever grateful for what this hospital and their personnel have done for us. We’d like to specifically thank Nurse Bettina, Cam, Mika, Joan, Kaisha, Celeste, Leigh, Shannon, Laura, Sara, Tyron, Dr Nancy VN and last but not least Dr Al Sadek. There were many others we got to meet, their names have slipped my mind unfortunately, but our gratitude is just as strong. Thank you for helping us in that stressful time in our lifes and making the rough road a little smoother!

Ramon Lopez

The nurses in the er are terrible here. My moms been here since 9am and they don’t want to give nothing to drink till the doctor see her. When I asked for the doctor they couldn’t find him. They answer back with an attitude and no respect what so ever. If you have a choice don’t come here go elsewhere.

Alda Sanchez

My son was born here thought it was a good place at first ... Then my mother-in-law took him recently today and my baby is 2 yrs old he felt so sick

TIM STOFFEL

this is the WORST hospital i have ever seen . the nurses are just waiting to do their 8 hours and go home. they were rude and less than helpful. i called to ask if they had given my partner his meds and the nurse spent the whole time yelling over me that she never did answer my question. turns out he didn't get 2 of his meds because they were not available. really ? a hospital that doesn't have access to medications ? i took him home that night....he was not in good hands. never go there ! they suck !

Engy Hamed

The hospital has the worst staff and nursing team. I actually asked to be discharged early as the nursing team were terrible and instead of the supervisor to accommodate my needs, she shouted at my face!! I think the hospital should consider providing the staff with the right training about how to deal with their patients.

Italy Cano

Michele from the ER department was the best nurse I have ever had. She was amazing. I wish I would have gotten her last name! Everyone was incredibly professional and attentive. They also knew what POTS was so I was immediately comfortable with them.

Gee Gee Go

Came in with horrible pain in less than three hrs got my blood drawn my ultrasound my ct scan. And then they determined i needed surgery that same day. They squeezed me in gave me pain medication gave me extra blankets n heater. And after surgery i had a lady that did not let me sleep. And they were kind enough to listen to my requests n moved me rooms. They offered a binder toothbrush food n helped me walk arm in arm. I did not have insurance and before i left they made sure i had my meds. Only thing i did not like was an rn had made an iv and it clogged up so another one came to make a second one n she hurt my hand real bad i now have a breen bruise on my hand the size of a golfball. But not bad at all for 1 day and a half stay. As for billing it is a bit outrageous 100k.

I had the worst experience ever at this hospital. I went in for a spinal back surgery which was more extensive , then I could of ever imagined , it was so hard to get medicine . Me an my roomate had to help feed ,walk , and call back to back to get each other's medicine. On top of that I got a prescription that's was impossible to fill . Never ever ever go here plz save your self....

Maria Alfaro

YES SURE THEY PROMISED THEY WERE GONNA FIND OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING MY FEET TO SWELL SAID THEY WERE GONNA TAKE ALL AND ANY NESSASARY TEST NEEDED BUT DID THEY HELL NO. DO NOTCOME HERE IF U ARE IN NEED OF ANY TYPE OF MEDICAL HELP OR ADVICE. U WONT GET IT. OR MAYBE IT WAS ME AND THEY ARE JUST JUDGEMENTAL AND I WASNT UP TO THEIR STANDARDS. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. BAD BAD BAD. IT DONT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR BUT IT WOULDNT LET ME POST THIS UNTIL I CHOSE A STAR RATING. FIGURES.

Dennis Smith

Wonderful treatment in both emergency room and hospital room. We like this place even though we don't really want to go there.

Natividad Torres Jr.

Wonderful caring hospital that treated me and my wife with excellence.

Jacquie Michael

If you truly care about your family and friends, do not choose this hospital. It is the worst hospital EVER. I could go on and on about why, just trust me.

That Bearded Guy

The ER secretary Joany is very rude, has a bad attitude and shouts at clients if she misunderstands them. She needs a class in manners.

Glenda Kierstead

We were referred by our pedatrician since our son was born at 32 weeks to have an evaluation done. My husband called to make an appointment and got the run around stating specific paperwork was needed. After confirming that all paperwork was sent he called and left multiple messages. My son is now 5months old we still have not heard back from amyone regarding an appointment. Thankfully we and our pedatrician do not have any concerns regarding our son. However, if we did I doubt we would turn to this hospital considering their inability to provide basic care/customer service.

My dad got hospitalized about 3 weeks ago, he was admitted on the second floor and stayed a week, all of his nurses were very prompt, helpful and very nice. Susan, oscar, Cecilia and many others that I can't remember their names and I am sorry for that, made his stay bearable. He is an 87 yr old man that has never stayed for that long or hospitalized at all in his life! Thank you so much for all you do for patients

Webn8tr _

So unorganized and very slow. I feel bad for patients.

Maria Bravo

My dad was hospitalized on 6/22/17 they decided to put him in the DOU unit for more observation. Nursing staff very careless, room was not cleaned and what I mean not cleaned the windows had spit and buggers. Also my dad needed assistance to use the restroom had 3 accidents for having to wait for more than 10 min. Nurse came in after we physically walked to the nurses station. The bed was never changed and he stayed for 8 days. Very sad that these careless nurses are there. Yesterday discharged after 3 hours that the dr discharged finally the nurse realized he had been discharged.

IF YOU ARE GIVING BIRTH DO NOT COME TO FOUNTAIN VALLEY!! THE WORST HOSPITAL TO GIVE BIRTH AT. The lowest budget hospital in Orange county, Hands Down! I've had 6 kids in 4 different hospitals and this one is solo based I can't even find the words. Almost every nurse is a rude, rude, rude b word. From the nurse that lets you in to the baby ward to the nurses who give the service. Thus has been one of the worst experiences of our lives. They say you never forget one of your kids births, well that's true, but this is one I would like to forget. I think the food comes from a jail somewhere and the toilet paper in the bathroom is in one of those plastic security things so none of the new moms can steal the toilet paper. Can you believe it? Just try getting the paper out after a c-section and tube ligation. Impossible!

roxanne agredano

I am so saddened to say that this hospital has progressively gotten worse or perhaps while I was giving birth in 1996 I didn't have time to notice, probably because I was only there about 18 hours (which is another story entirely!) My granddaugher was transferred from Kaiser in Anaheim to FVR. She is 12 months. Very ill with a virus. My daughter ordered her oatmeal cereal for breakfast. When it finally arrived it had a HAIR in it. Needless to say my daughter was furious. Requested a replacement but by the time it arrived the second time Mia was no longer hungry. This is unacceptable particularly when she had already lost 3.6 pounds and did not need to lose that window of hunger. She wanted nothing to do with it by the time it arrived. Waiting for food to arrive is unavoidable but having it arrive in this state is absolutely unacceptable. Further, they did not provide the baby with a new crib sheet after it had been soiled. My daughter requested it but it never happened and they were eventually discharged later that day. NEVER AGAIN. WE ARE CHANGING OUR PPO. SHAME ON YOU F.V. REGIONAL. I lived in FV for 18 years. This is unacceptable!

I just came in to visit a pt but in the room was other pt. A friendly female RN Gonzalez, went to the computer system and look for his name and find out my friend was discharged last nite. Thanks for her busy time and info

I have Multiple Sclerosis and so when I'm sick my M.S. symptoms intensify greatly, so when I was vomiting for a week and couldn't eat anything my body was in excruciating pain. I went to the emergency room and they had half of the E.R. rooms closed for construction, which I was being very understanding too. But then they put me in a hallway bed and we're so full and busy I had no privacy, still trying to be patient I just wanted to see a doctor. I was there for 5 hrs and only had pain meds twice, the nurses were rude and I was in tears. I kept asking the nurses for help over and over. They sent me for cat scan and ultrasound and asked me why was I still crying? I told them I was in so much pain and they told me I had a gastrointestinal infection and cyst in my ovaries that are leaking and causing the pain but they were busy so I would have to wait until they can get to asking the Dr for more meds. And it would be easier and faster to take meds at home and just go?! I was shocked and pissed! But still crying from the pain, I asked for my paperwork and they gave me a prescription for a antibiotic and still with my M.S. going crazy and I was having problems walking, the nurse said you can hold my arm I'll walk you out so you can wait for your family outside. We need the bed!! My primary and neurologist are associated with this hospital and the are pretty good Dr's. But I will never ever go back there or refer anyone there in my life! Worst experience ever!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Kien Tran when I was a patient at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital. Dr. Kien Tran has excellent bedside manner, he was calm, caring, very informative, and I felt safe and secure in his medical care. Dr. Kien Tran put together an effective care plan for me and my medical issue was resolved and I was properly discharged from the hospital sooner than I expected. Dr. Kien Tran is super competent, he followed up with me extensively, and made me feel like I was truly cared for while I was in his care. l highly recommend Dr. Kien Tran and Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for all SoCal patients.

I had what was supposed to be rotator cuff surgery with a possibility of getting the bicep trimmed. But it wound up only being the bicep trim. Anesthesiologist did a different type of nerve block because I explained to him I had breathing issues after my other surgery. I was placed on the operating table told to take a few deep breaths all while the staff had personal conversations One in general about how it was the Anesthesiologist last week at this facility... Next he tells me ok putting you to sleep this might burn... it burned pretty bad that was my last memory until I woke up. I could hear staff telling me to take deep breaths and to calm down, but I couldn't talk I couldn't inhale all I could do was move my legs. I was trying to let them know I could not breath. I could sense the panic in the room. I passed back out. My surgeons assistant tells me I turned blue then I was bagged by the anesthesiologist. I woke up in recovery with a horrible head ache and shortness of breath. Both my eyes had broken blood vessels and I have burses in odd places. My husband was never called nor communicate with about my status nor did any staff explain how my surgery went even after being questioned no one had any answers. I was treated and given care instructions as if I had had the rotator cuff surgery and spent almost two weeks not knowing any different. My Surgeon And nurses in pre op and recovery were very kind and sweet. They were the only positive thing about my experience in this hospital.

Excellent hospital!! Took care of my boyfriend. They told him that the hispital he went to should've done something to him when he went there.

My daughter was in pediatric ICU. She received great care and help. Staff was not only courteous, but went above and beyond to help both her and me.

Went to emergency room for an eye injury. They charged me over 1,000.00 to put a drop in my eye and look at it through an optical machine. Sent me home. Next day I went to my eye fit or who was very surprised they didn't flush my eye and sent me home without the proper care. He flushed it out a temporary lens on it and had me come back every day to clean and check it. The emergency room staff don't care and way or charge for the service. Apparently FV has an agrwe met with blue Cross to rip people off

Fountain Valley has the worse customer service and billing practices around. The front desk person doesn't even understand basic medical/health terminology. I was sent here to get a Methotrexate shot due to a possible ectopic because my OB was out of town on that day. I scheduled my appt. online so I could minimize the wait. Once I got checked in, the ER Doctor came and asked me what I needed. Once I told him he said that they don't give Methotrexate shots at their hospital so I was discharged. The ER Doctor called my Dr. and told him that so my OB Doctor sent me over to Orange Coast Memorial to have it done. It was half the cost there versus FV. Even though no services were rendered FV Hospital was still charging me $1904.70 and my portion was $380.94. Once I called the insurance they returned what they took from the insurance and still wanted me to pay my portion. They want me to pay when nothing was done and I had to go to another hospital to get it done. This shows how incompetent this hospital to schedule a procedure or something at their hospital that they can't even do and then charge the patient when none of the services were rendered. They wasted 2.5 hours of my time on Good Friday and then still think they have the right to charge me for a procedure they can't even do. Patients beware. I called to dispute this the first time on May 27, 2014 and I am still getting invoices today in September. I called back to try and resolve this and the rep Nathan was argumentative and just decided to hang up on me. Instead of trying to help he was argumentative and told me I have to pay this bill. I would never recommend anyone to use this hospital's service. Tiffany Thao Nguyen

Waiting time on phone to reach a nurse to check on my Mom's status was over 15min. Nurses were not attentive in caring for patients. Do NOT Recommend

Came on a Wednesday night - this place was unprecedentedly packed but friendly staff and triage moved people quickly. Had a great and thorough experience here and would return.

I just had my daughter here 7 days ago. It was the greatest experience I've ever had at a hospital. My nurses in labor and delivery were the best. My nurses in postpartum were the best. If I have another baby I will definitely be going back.

Juan Estrada

Wonderful service thumps up for the Doctors and nurses in the pediatric department.

Cheryl Kulka

Was a patient there many times and nurses and staff good, the horrible part is their billing department. Nasty and mean and no easy way to make payments unless you pay it off. Billing department if was rated for coldness well easy 10.

My dad went into this hospital on a Wednesday night at 6 through the ambulance for a serious fall on the concrete floor on his face and he's elderly and the doctor didn't even come in, maybe like once just to give paper work to me to fill out. I was there the whole time with him, they were not helpful at all, he was in tremendous pain and they didn't do anything. They tried to send him home while he was in critical condition, but kept him Bc of extreme numbness in his arms. They told us we'd get a room for him within the hour, waited 4 hours until 2 in the morning he finally got a room. Always took several hours to get anything done for him. Once in his room by DOU, nurses were rude and unhelpful, for example he laid in bed for many hoes needing to go poop, no nurse came in to help after many many calls to them, the other man in the room's nurse told us my dad's nurse was sitting outside the whole time. Also didn't give us necessary material needed to care for him at home, like shower collars since he can't move his neck, and other things, extremely frustrated with this hospital, nurses were so unhelpful, over all horrible care done, very careless, they gave us the other man in the room's private information inside our folder of information. Can't believe them. Disappointed, never under any consequences going back here.

1 Star because you can't give a big fat ZERO! Doctors and Nurses are for the most part skilled, friendly, affable they aren't the issue. The administration, hospital policy and yes folks sadly the food is unedible unless you are starving. My iphone was stolen while I was semiconcious on a gurney on their 'tarmac'-- a long hall of people 'gurnied up' waiting for rooms. The hospital accepts no responsibility for someone stealing a phone from someone who is barely breathing. Should have brought a guard dog.

I am not satisfied with this place at all! i was "scheduled to have my baby here on Sunday Nov 6. I arrived before the time, and was asked to wait in the hall (standing)and told they would be right out to talk to me. about 10 minutes passed by before I picked up the phone again just to be told to continue waiting. finally my mom and I went to the waiting room and waited longer. The nurse finally found her way over and stated that they were too busy and had to postpone my APPOINTMENT. I was told that they would be calling me the following morning to let me know if they had an available bed. Keep in mind this place was had no one in the waiting rooms, it seemed spooky and deserted, with hardly any activity. Here I am 2 weeks passed my due date. I have been continuously calling day after day just to be told the same ol' crap.

Mu Guan

Nurse and doctor are super nice, very professional.

Andy Villegas

Good hospital treated me nice and would detail what they planned to do Overall great experience

Receptionists are so bad, rude. If you have small kid , you should not come here , you can be waiting to 4 h to know results, as that time your kid under 1 year old will be dangerous when they are sick. They don’t care.
