Who would have thought back surgery could be fun! Well my experience at this lovely little hospital was exactly that. From the minute we arrived to when I left 10 hours later I was treated like a princess. From the receptionist that checked me in and all of the nurses, techs and my anesthesiologist and my Surgeon they made my day fearless, pain free and joyful. My main nurse was an adorable woman named Olive!!! Best Nurse ever. She had me laughing all day and was so kind...thank you Olive. Don't be afraid to come here. It's a little slice of hospital heaven...much love and gratitude to a wonderful staff!!!! Thank you!!! ps I had a micro discectomy at L5 S1. It went beautifully!

Wow where can i start well my wife had a bad seizure so rushed her to the hospital because she was really bad the emergency room was great shout out to marcus he was awesome but once we finally got admited it was a complete change nurses were clueless on how to treat a seizure patient i was the one attending her putting her on her side and all they had us in this room with no proper set up to treat a seizer patient the doctor kept avoiding us and refused to communicate with my wifes doctor who was treating her for her seizures and on top she is also diabetic the doctor didnt take care of that because he says it has nothing to do with her seizurez i was like wow you know in shock its crazy how can this dictor be so stupid hello anything that puts your body in to stress couses a what !!! Seizure plus its a health problem never got insulin nor her sugar checked had her on a regular diet never ever had so bad of experience in a hospital doctor and nurses were bad people pls dont go there for ur own good your life will be im more danger i still dont understand how these people work in the medical field or how this hospital works

I had a terrible ulcer attack and just went to the nearest emergency room around. Taylor, Roe and the other staff are very helpful. The wait can be a little long if the ER is full, just FYI.

I had my baby here and all the nurses did excellent job very sweet and patient with me i was there for about 6 days though because i had a c section and i didn't know what to expect after words but they were extremely supportive. The nurses also kept insisting me to breastfeed even after i felt too overwhelmed they kept encouraging which i really needed. Also the food was very very delicious my compliments to the chef/ or chefs, missed it a little after i left. So all in all i give it a 10 and plan on going back. But i mostly have to thank god for a wonderful experience

Parking is easy & my doctor validates. Staff was professional and helpful. Wait time not long. Pet scan machine is somewhat outdated, according to my oncologist, but all other services were very good

This hospital is Amazing great employees and staff my dad has been here many times and we have always had the best of doctors treating my dad and have always had the best of results. I wouldnt want to go to any other hospital. Although the Charge Nurses are oh so great until the date of discharge, in our expirence they basically kick us out pressuring my parents to leave when im at work and i wouldnt be able to pick them up until a couple of hours even getting a patient that just got out of an open heart surgery to wait for his daughter in the lobby. I was very very disappointed in that aspect of the nurses literally kicking my parents out of the room. If your going to give great costumer service it should be all the way up to the end even as your getting discharged. I wouldnt punish everyone for a couple of non-caring rude nurses though.

5 star all the way from registration process til end of reason for visit. Dolores was an excellent registration personnel and Cesar was the gentlest nurse to administer all 4 vaccines I came in for. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Thank you for the superb and excellent customer service. Parking was convenient and attendant was very pleasant and patient upon the exit process.

White Memorial went above and beyond my needs. Not only the 4 previous times I had went to observe my baby but also during my birth and recovery. The rooms are spacious and kept clean. I had all my 3 kids here and my experience was wonderful. Attend Dr apps for myself across the street. Attended prenatal also across the street. And my kids pediatrician is also there. I love it!!! I had a procedure for my stomach problems, I was so scared and fearful for the type of procedure and it was my first time @ White Memorial Medical Center. What a surprise the staff was so wonderful and nice to me, they made me feel safe and all my fears were gone. I just had knee surgery a week ago... I was very nervous and very scared before my surgery, the staff was so friendly and made me feel comfortable my whole wait up to the time I was moved to the OR room. I want to send a special thanks to my nurse Nelia for being so nice, my surgeon Dr. Longacre and his OR staff, and last but not least to my anesthesiologist Dr. Berpashigian, he is the best, he made me feel comfortable, very friendly individual! My experience was over all amazing! Hospitals can be scary at times but I was well taken cared of during my visit here!

I went to the Emergency Room because of Upper Leg Pain and interior bleeding. I did''t know what had happened. The Nurses and Dr took very good care of me and diagnosed the problem very quickly. I was impressed on how fast they took labs and received the results. They explained everything thoroughly, also discharged me in a timely manner and gave me tips on how to avoid my problem in the future. Great Facility, Clean and Roomy Waiting Room, and the people in the front are quick and patient when dealing with me and other that were there that night.

Had my knee replaced just last week. Not going to lie about being apprehensive in regards to the surgery but also the hospital and it’s location. I live in another county and was very unfamiliar with the area. Knowing I was looking at a three day stay I only hoped it would be as comfortable and productive stay as possible. The staff at this hospital could not have been more professional, caring and accommodating. I was beyond impressed with every single nurse, every assistant down to the people that brought me food and blankets. They were incredible. I highly recommend this hospital!

Let me start by saying that White Memorial Hospital is definitely worthy of healthgrades 100 best hospitals! I arrived at WMH about to die from Osteomyelitis. I already had a weakened heart (CHF), mitral valve prolapse, uti, aniema, and needed a blood transfusion. Dr Jacob Flores was my attending physician . He put a team of specialists together Dr. Hiram Palmer, Dr Ethelred Carter, Dr Raymundo Romero, and many others. The doctors, nurses, and staff were my angels. My daughter was at my side the entire week and they kept her informed and took care of her the entire time. They made sure she was trained for my after care. That was the first time I was ever admitted into a hospital (which the exception of giving birth to my two children). That was the first time I was under the care of Dr. Flores also. He saved my life. I can not tell you how thankful I am to have had him as my doctor. I have since changed my insurance group so I can remain with Dr Flores and have him as my primary care physician. As I am really not looking forward to my heart surgery, I know I will have the continued top care that Dr Flores, Dr Palmer, and White Memorial Hospital provide. My appointment was for a PET scan. Everyone was very courteous and helpful and answered all my questions. Only problem, I was told my doctor would have the results of the scan in 2 to 3 days. It has been 5 working days and I am still waiting.

I had my son here a couple years ago. Everything was fine until I told the nurses that I wasn't going to breastfeed. The nurse I had in the delivery room was so rude, kept making jabs about my weight, and was just generally unpleasant. My son ended up having to stay in the NICU for a little over a week. As I was packing, a nurse in the recovery area came in and told me that I needed to hurry up and go since I didn't even have a baby with me. The NICU staff were wonderful and they're the only reason I don't give a lower rating.

I love Dr. Patel and my nurse Deloris they are both supper sweet ladies! I hate needles but this process has helped me over come that... I so badly want a cat and to be able to go hiking without having an asthma attack! I had a scratch test today that proves that my immunity shots are working and I'm almost completely cat allergy free amongst other things! It does take 6months to get an appointment with Dr.Patel but I only need to see her 2 times a year and trust me she is totally worth the wait!!

My first mammogram was a routine, uneventful experience. I value punctuality, especially when I'm on time. My primary physician at White Memorial is notoriously late (but he's so thorough that I suffer through), so when the staff at the Imaging Center had me in and out in no time at all, I was thrilled. Everyone was pleasant, they answered all my questions, and were professional. All in all, a great visit.

Had a memorable experience with the medical staff! My nurses were amazing and very helpful, not to mention personable! However, my best experience was with my anesthesiologist, Dr. Friedman who was so approachable and had the best bedside manner and quickly expelled my anxiety and of course Dr. Hay whose praises I always sing! He is the best, always with a smile! First time in 39 years at White Memorial, where I delivered my only child under Dr. Matthew Kates! Great experience overall.

This is a beautiful hospital however it is not a hospital i would recommend for African American people. Although the nurses are nice (because it's their job to be) a couple of them were mean to me on the under and would take forever to service me in my needs. I would not know this if it was not for having Hispanic roommates and seeing when they called for a nurse how fast they were service and how long it took for them to service my needs.

From the moment I walked through the door, I was treated promptly and professionally. There was never a moment that a need or an issue was not immediately addressed. I traveled a long distance to have my procedure done and was so impressed with the treatment I received, that I traveled back to have my young son's sports injury surgery done as well. I am a parent of a 4 month old that should have been checked on her appointment which was 7/17/18 (pediatrics).We were wrongfully denied service in which they did not confirm correctly with our insurance, tricare. My daughter has tricare select in which we can go with who ever we want. I am very upset and it hurts that we were treated like trash. Unacceptable! While my husband is deployed, he had to call tricare to see what happened and they didn't understand themselves. Anyways, they lost a patient . I gave 2 stars due to the situation we were put in but I give an amazing thank you to Dr. Andrea Ward. She is an amazing physician . She showed how much she cared for my daughter on our first visit and I loved it. I had questions and she returned my call with all questions answered. I was hoping she was going to remain my daughters pediatrician. At this point I'm upset with this office and we found a new pediatrician. Thank you dr ward for your services.

I worker in this institution for more then 24 years, always helping patients every day. Specially when it’s the first time in this hospital, they are afraid , they know and trust their doctors but the environment it’s new, they asked many questions and I always give them a little bit of history of White Memorial after this I feel that the patient look more comfortable, they look around and notice that everybody it’s friendly and works as a team, Patients some times said I never been around this area! And I said ...you are in Boyle Hights ...BH...! Beverly Hills they will laugh and said you are right! ... .Now going to my own experience as a pacient, I can said that I’m so proud to work at White Memorial I fell that I was in BH with the process from the beginning to end.... I had a GREAT TEAM the best doctor, the best anesthesiologist, the best surgical tech, the best RN’s, everyone was so nice make me feel as a family..... This place over all disgusts me with there so called “medical professionals” if you call the white memorial phone number they state they are a Christian wellness center focused on helping there patients body soul and mind!! This is a complete JOKE!!! From my experiences with vomiting while being rushed out of the hospital and layers blankets being thrown on top of me to cover the vomit so the nurses can go home instead of tend to me after my horrible surgery performed by a horrible doctor (Dr. Matthew Longacre eastside Orthopaedics) to the outpatient physical therapy staff and manager unwillingness to perform there jobs correctly and be attentive to dealing with the director of risk management Rebecca B. Who is completely unprofessional and should be fired for her lack of experience in dealing with patients in a proper and respectful manner. This place is a joke and should be investigated to the fullest extent!!! One experience included This doctor who is emotionally unstable and a liar. He accused me of being physically violent towards hospital nurses and screamed at me over the phone saying they only help people who are nice to them. I was supposed to get a nerve block but due to my fibromyalgia and CRPS the pain just isn’t tolerable for me. It was supposed to be a hospital procedure where I was going to be put under. I waited from 1:39 pm to about 5pm with the nurses talking for hours about cookies in a biohazards bag. Not once did the attending nurse come to tell me that there was a delay and the doctor started later than he should have , my mother had to ask around 4 pm for her to tell us. Then around 5 o’clock I asked the nurse how much longer because my sciatica and fibromyalgia were acting up and I hadn’t taken my medication that day because I was told not to. She then proceeded to tell me that there were 3 patients a head of me and it would be 2 1/2 hours longer (7-8pm I would have went in) I told her I wanted to leave because I was in sever pain. She asked me about 5 times if I was sure I said yes please don’t ask me again. I got dressed and walked out and asked if she could please cut off my bracelets. She cut them off and I walked out. I called Dr. Borovic’s office immediately and left two voice mails. I called back on that following Monday or Tuesday to see why no one had called me back in regards to my message. Ashely the receptionist at Dr. Borovic’s told me the report stated I was rude to the nurses!!! I said well why didn’t anyone call me back on Monday ? She placed me on hold and several minutes later the back office MA ( male) answered and started to talk about the injections I said wait I’m asking why no one called me back and he said they didn’t get any of MY messages... I asked him well where do these messages go to a rainbow land of missing messages.? He asked me if I felt safe with them or not to do the injections ..? I then asked him in sarcasm if he was retarded... he was begging to say they have the right to refuse and I hung up. I called back a day or two later to see if Dr. Borovic or Dr. O’Malley would refer me to a different pain management specialist and Dr. Borovic gets on the phone and screams at me I don’t believe what you have to say I don’t believe your story you cursed at my staff and you attacked one of the nurses I told him he was acting childish and unprofessional and he told me I was childish for telling him he’s childish and unprofessional then he tells me we only help people who are nice to us and I said I’m coming down. I called white memorial administrators and they set up an immediate meeting with Director of risk management Rebecca who was very unpleasant and unprofessional as well. Overall this doctor is extremely rude and unstable.

I'd give zero stars, even a -1 star. I recently had contacted the OB/GYN Medical Clinic in White Memorial and they are HORRIBLE. The Nursing Coordinator is so dam freaking rude. She wants to go ahead and confirm an earlier date of my surgery in which I've never approved and just earlier today I got on the phone with her after calling her several times without answering any of my calls and she wants to now say that everything is my fault??? She is so dam ridiculous. Other nurses and representatives were very unprofessional as well. If you want to call to schedule an appointment, DON'T EVEN BOTHER!!! They'll transfer your call as a way of holding for a good 7 to 20 minutes!!! Their only excuse is that everyone is on lunch at the same time. So ridiculous. NEVER will I come to the White Memorial Hospital ever again.

New Moms Beware ...social workers here are working with Corrupt Child Protection kidnappers to legally kidnap new borns and traffic them to the highest bidder.. Do no research and ruin new Moms lives.. White Memorial brought us from bliss to terror... Do not have your children here..they will be at risk.....it got worse...later i go to front desk to get new visiter nadge.. I mentioned to receptionist the mass shooti g in Thousand Oaks yesterday..She laughs ..smirks and say she doesnt care as long as they dont start shooting at here.. I was shocked.. If you ever need something done such as a surgery or just general healthcare ,I would not hesitate to use White Memorial Hospital. I really wanted to give them a good review because it’s a nice big hospital but the service at my colonoscopy was horrible! My appointment was for 10am and the procedure did not start until close to 2pm. No one updated me, my daughter called for Cathy the RN TWICE because I had such a bad headache that I was throwing up (she never showed). Dr Donald Portocarero (?) came in at 12:30pm asked two questions and left, nothing more. I understand that due to my limited insurance I have to put up w long waits on occasion, but this was ridiculous. I am very disappointed and saddened that this is the kind of service low income patients have to put up with.

I've been here for 6 hours super packed all the time and now my estimated time is 1-3 hours more! This is like county already and they have all the children with the adults at least at county they have their own pediatric unit! I wanted to go eat and they said don't leave they might call me and that was 2 hours ago

My stay at White Memorial was a complete, unexpected surprise to me. While there, I was impressed by the attentiveness of all those that cared for me (looked after me). This is no little thing for I was there for 3 and 1/2 weeks and I had no prior experience with the hospital, staff member and/or consulting doctors. Everything from emergency care to admittance to corrective procedures to physical/occupational theropy was first rate and carried out by skilled professionals. Very, very Good.

My mom was a patient there for only 3 days,the nurses there are very lazy my mom was not turned which she developed skin break down ,just because someone is on morphine doesn't mean you don't know what's going on ,on the second day my moms tray was so far away from her ,unable to eat,call lights were not answered promptly,my mom was told that nurse's don't do repositioning patients,shame on all you nurses involved that gave my mom a terrible experience ,thank god she was discharged quickly ,3 days was enough for my Mom.

White Memorial Medical Center has been been the greatest hospital ever. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 7 at White Memorial and the service has been great. I have gone in for DKA and the nurses were kind of course the needles hurt but i knew it was for my health and to treat me back to being normal. White Memorial gives good advice and their service is excellent, they also provide variety of resources to follow up on having a healthy lifestyle. The doctors are caring and respectful. This Hospital is great !

I never want to come back to this hospital. The doctor's and nurses are cool, but the kitchen staff are idiots. Every meal I ordered came back wrong. Everything I ordered they ran out of so I had to get a sandwich. While everyone else has a full meal. If I wasn't black I bet the food would be there. It just so happen to run out of the food I ordered and nothing else. If you ever get admitted to this hospital and you're black bring your own food unless you like sandwiches. SMH.......

Couldn't even schedule an appointment. I was already on hold for 15 minutes when a lady put me on hold AGAIN after I told her my insurance until they closed so I couldn't even talk to anyone else. Call representatives are just rude, unorganized, and one even hung up in my face. I'm glad I couldn't schedule an appointment because God knows how rude staff is if I can't even get through a phone call with them.

I delivered my first born at Pacific Alliance and I can say that it was only out of convenience. I just had another daughter who was delivered at White Memorial and I just loved it. The nurse were so sweet. The doctors were very informative and everybody was so polite. I had my own recovery room, the food tasted great and nobody looked at me like a burden on their life for being there. This was the best experience I could have had. Oh and if you stay the night nurse Juliet (night shift) is such a funny sweet lady. Thank you all in the maternity floors.

I had my baby this week and had the best experience at this hospital. Hands down best nurses especially Grace, she helped me through everything on those 2 days I was there, if it wasn't for her I would of gave up breastfeeding but she talked and helped me through it. I had my third child at this facility on the 21st and it was a great experience. Everyone was very nice and compassionate about what they do. Helped me every time I needed it. And it was a clean a tidy place. If I decide to have another child I will definitely be coming back here. Would highly recommend this hospital to anyone.

It's our second time at this hospital for baby delivery and both times they get a 5 star! Staff members, nurses and doctors are all very friendly, professional and you can tell they want to do amazing versus "ok". They do a great job exceeding patients expectations. Something they do that other hospital doesn't is mom and dad celebration lunch! Makes mom and dad feel good to have that time together. I highly recommend this hospital when it comes to delivering babies.

This is one of the best hospitals I’ve ever been too! I have sickle cell anemia and was in a lot of pain, the staff got me in the back quickly. All the nurses Candi, Kenny, Zayda, Diana, Ana, ( a lot more but can’t think of the names) were amazing. The doctors, CNAs, people who delivered water, cleaned the rooms. Everybody was patient, kind and treated me like family! They made me laugh, kept encouraging me, didn’t judge me like most hospitals do and assume sickle cell patients just want drugs! I really appreciate everyone this past week!

I’ve come here serval times for my services. This experience was horrible. I started off in the ER Sunday night. Nurses were very impatient and rude. I was admitted and got moved to the med surg floor the following day. I had Mayra and Brian the first two days / nights an they were fantastic. I was pleased to have Mayra as my nurse more than one day. Unfortunately my last night took all of this away. I had Jospeh as my nurse and he was horrible. I had to call serval times as ask for medicine. Explain very basic things. And he was all over the place. When the night nurse Yenna started she had the same behavior as Joseph and this only made my frustration grow. Seeing as I’m a nursing student, I will only take away from this so I can know how I should and shouldn’t be treating patients / doing my job. Being ill is already enough without someone not doing their job to help.

The front office staff are very aware of the patient privacy laws and are respectful of them. My x-rays were done prior to being seen by the MD; this is a very efficient use of the MD's time, and also my time. Care was timely and efficient, and my treatment was extremely effective. The staff are all great. I love my physician, Dr. Itamura; he is simply the best.

The ultrasound and blood tests her pediatrician recommended were done, and when the result was positive, she was taken to surgery for an emergency appendectomy. Time from entrance into ER to surgery: 6 hours. That' s not bad. Post op care was excellent with attentive nurses, involved "child life specialists" to help her pass the time. Nurses provided appropriate level of attention to her needs for pain medication.

I love this hospital the most friendliest staff in triage, labor and delivery, and maternity. I have had 2 of my kids delivered there nothing has changed the hospitality is amazing. They really care about what you have to say what you want and don't want. I wish I would have had my 1st child there. The doctors are caring and nice. I live in the Covina area and make the drive to my doctors during my pregnancies to the Los Angeles area just to deliver at that hospital. That's how much I love this hospital compared to the many I have seen.
