Was treated on 10/02/2019 in the ER. I received immediate and professional treatment by all the staff that assisted me. The wait time was average for the amount of tests and treatment I had, no big deal staying there for the results and after care instructions. Compassionate and caring staff made my entire stay thankful that we have a full service hospital in Tehachapi with professionals we can count on. Thank you to all of you who are dedicated professionals!

These were the worst sutures that I have ever seen. It looks like a 5th grader did them. I couldn't believe my eyes when I changed the dressing the next day. It looks like negligence as far as I'm concerned and if this is the standard of care STAY AWAY. I can't wait to see how bad the scar is if it ever heals!!! My skin closure for transport to the hospital was better than the sutures that were given. UNBELIEVABLE!!

Still send me out with a fever wouldn't give me Jack schitt for it horrible place better off going to Bakersfield are Lancaster's our your neighborhood drug dealer

I got no complaints. I show up to the E/R with a my problem. Get a nurse within 5 minutes, and am brought to the back quickly. Doc checked me out, was unable to figure the problem at face value and asked me for permission to run some tests. They had me in the E/R over night. In the morning, the E/R section passed me to the hospital side for more comfort and a specialized doctor. After looking through the stuff, he figured the problem and decided to keep me in for monitoring for a couple days. The doctors and staff in the E/R were thorough in their work, as well cheerful to talk to and willing to answer questions. Same for the hospital side. Willing to talk and also fast respond. You see these negative reviews, and I cant answer for them. All I can do is give my experience here. These guys and gals are humans too, often working in a high stress environment. I respect their attitude and their work environment. They saw I was respectful, they were cheerful and respectful back.

It was phomonia, and the hospital was not equipped? To treat my wife so she had to wait 16 hours for Tehachapi hospital to transfer her to a hospital in Bakersfield. I would try and get your love ones to any other hospital.

Amy Feng

I have been to this hospital several times while dealing with post surgery complications. The staff have for the most part been empathetic and understanding with the exception of a few times...but Friday was the worst. I was brought via ambulance to the hospital after I woke up and could not walk due to extreme dizziness and pressure in my head and neck that was bringing me to the floor. After explaining that I had had a Mylogram on Thursday (CT where the contrast is injected directly into your spine)..I was told this was a side effect of the procedure and to follow up with my doctors. At this point I was STILL unable to walk and being brought to my knees with the pain. No admit, no transfer...discharge. A nurse suggested I go to Bakersfield memorial as it was clear I needed more care. Fast forward to later that evening..transferred from Bakersfield memorial and admitted to Bakersfield Adventist Health for an emergency blood patch on my spine after my Mylogram pierced my spine and caused a SEVERE spinal headache. Thank you to the nurse at tehachapi that advised me to get further care...discharged this morning and slowly recovering...granted my care at the tehachapi hasn’t been the greatest, but this occasion was the absolute worst and had the nurse not suggested Bakersfield Memorial I would still be unable to walk due to the pain!

If i could rate zero stars i would ,this place sucks very long wait times, rude security ,and very unorganized..

Place is god awful

My teenage son came in with a knee dislocation and he sat in the waiting room for 7 hours. They came and got insurance information and wanted me to pay when they haven't even seen him yet. This place stinks and is so unorganized.

V Meddler

The staff is great but the wait was hours.

Alexis Jimenez

I've taken my son here, and there was a young male nurse who was rolling his eyes constantly, looked like he hated his job and honestly after being there for hours I was doing the same but ultimately working in the medical field you should have compassion and be more professional.

Evangelina Martinez

If I could give this place a 0 I would, i go to the office in mojave they can never see my sick child when i do get an appointment they take for ever to call us in. I cant even go to a different dr because none are in my network.

This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to. I moved to Tehachapi in April of 2016 I was injured and I was seen her at that time I mean Physicians request by to hatch the hospital now of Ventus Healthcare. I got the unfortunate experience and having to deal with a doctor there in attending like she was a traveler named mardones mardones was the lead ER physician. He was an a****** he was an arrogant cocky know-it-all douchebag. As a result of his missed diagnosis and his inability to treat me like a human being. He treated me like I was some kind of drug addict just pill seeking so since dealing with this piece of s*** Hospital I have refused to go back to it I will drive over an hour to go to a different hospital. However tonight I'm in a lot of pain I just had surgery on Friday the 13th of this year I fell causing me great pain I have a hundred and one fever. I haven't stopped throwing up for a day now finally decide to let my wife take me into the hospital and let me take take me to the hatch being all I wanted to know because of the issues I have with this doctor and because of some other stuff that he acted unprofessionally in I don't want to be seen or treated by this not knowing MD that adventisthealthcare Tehachapi has decided to keep on as a doctor despite his horrible disgusting deplorable that side manner never mind the fact that I'm a paying customer but I also work in a hospital I am also a nurse at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital sorry let me take that back of you my correct title certified nursing assistant slash unit secretary is my actual title so I get to see all kinds of stuff and if I ever treated anybody the way this douche treated me I would be fired. So the hospital won't tell us who the attending physician is even though I told him that I've had an issue with one of the personal issue with one of the Physicians and don't want to be treated by him so now I either go to Ridgecrest mean sorry I either go to Bakersfield or I go deal with these incompetent people so I Hope Adventist checks out all these post because I would rather die then let anyone at Adventist Healthcare Tehachapi. Because of them and their lack of intelligence and ability to perform right just medicine I was hospitalized for 11 days. I was in a wheelchair for three months fighting an infection that left me paralyzed. I was home for another 30 days with a PICC line so all because of this pathetic hospital and I'm going to blame the whole hospital to didn't get rid of him but because of this pathetic Hospital keeping this douchebag on staff as you can tell by other reports and in comments people would rather go to drive out of their way to another hospital then do it end this piece of s*** small-town rinky-dink non medicine practicing incompetent Hospital

I had a urgent care problem on Sunday evening while passing through Tahachapi and needed assistance. I have nothing but praise for the pleasant reception and professional care that I received. Excellent people and treatment, thanks again .

Went to the Emergency Room On Sunday. Got right in. I was there three days. All the staff made my stay as comfortable as possible. I give them the highest rating and many thanks

Brandy Sweeney

I’ve had 2 experiences with the ER and really have felt they were effective, efficient, kind and quick.

My wife brought me in this hospital at about 4 AM in the morning was serious stomach pain. I was immediately brought into the ER where they started drawing blood and hydrating me with this series of anabiotic‘s. They knew exactly What to do to get me in better shape. Long story short The doctors and staff dietitians chapel everyone about this hospital has been so nice and helpful. Looks to me like I will be able to go home in the morning thank you wants again to all the staff at Adventist health Tehachapi Hospital

chris tuggle

Horrible! They take forever to get patients in so you wait 3-4 hours to see a doctor. Then its a another 1-2 hours waiting on nurses and dcotors to come see you in the room.

Michele Linicome

It is a very good hospital

Robert Rose

Went to be seen yesterday for the flu that isn't going away, after waiting for 5 hours & NEVER being seen by the doctor, left & went to Bakersfield!!! This place is THE WORST!!!

Heather Beshears

The nurses, doctors, and staff I encountered in my almost 3 day stay were all very attentive, professional, and friendly. They did as thorough a work-up as they could, and for the one test they didn’t have available, a nuclear imaging HIDA scan, they are working on getting me in at another hospital to have it done. The facilities are lovely and clean, and it was the best experience I’ve had at any hospital, large or small.

Megan Kileen

Had to go for an abdominal ultrasound, the financial/check in lady said,” you’ll have to pay $175.00, and your insurance will cover the rest. You have really good insurance.” Got the bill 2MONTHS LATER I have too pay over $500 but insurance did pay the $175.00 . SERIOUSLY! If I knew I had to have paid that much I would of declined it! Best part THERE WASNT EVEN ANYTHING THERE.. smh I will try to never visit this place again.

Bivian Warner

They take forever on in patient and once you are admitted too much to hasle with. Id rather not go to the hospital for my pain. It sucks. They need better training. New nurses and doctors suck. Should have the ones who have been doing this for years. Im going to report to medicare!

christian cano

The wait time is the worst . they don't give you an answer the reception or the nurse .. First time being here . going to be my last .. Worst hospital I been to

Sara H

These guys were awesome. The front desk, doctors, and nurses all had a sense of humor and had my boyfriend in and out for stitches in 30 minutes. I highly recommend this place (not like there's anywhere else to go to the ER in Tehachapi)!

DAMN PEOPLE ,, DOES THE PEOPLE THAT RUN THE HOSPITAL EVER READ THESE REVIEWS ????

BusyBird ,

Waiting over 12 hours in the waiting room and still haven't been seen.

I thought I would leave my two cents, because hospitals don’t seem to get reviewed frequently, unless an individual has had a negative experience, which is unfortunate. I’ve been to this emergency room twice within the last ten days. I could not have been more pleased. The first time I went, it was not that busy, and due to some of my symptoms, I was seen right away. The second time I went, yesterday, it was very busy, and my symptoms were completely different. I spent most of my time waiting. However, I would 10/10 give both visits an equal rating, and this is why. First off, don’t go to an emergency room unless you are having an emergency, or urgent care is telling you you need to go. Emergency rooms are busy places and a lot of people will go and not be enthused with the wait, complain, get upset they aren’t everyone’s top priority, and write negative reviews. I’ve seen many reviews along these lines and likewise witnessed several unhappy persons at the hospital, because they thought they deserved preferential treatment. People also tend to be unhappy if not every single individual working in the hospital isn’t being SUPER sweet with them. This does not mean they are rude or uncaring; rather, they are simply trying to do their job and take care of everyone. On both of my visits I’ve encountered the likes of hospital staff that were simply professional, and visibly swamped with responsibility, and those that were also very busy, yet “extra sweet” in their tone, because that is their personality. I HIGHLY commend every healthcare personnel I have encountered at this hospital, regardless of how they spoke with me. Working at a hospital is not an easy job. The reason this is a lengthy review, is because this hospital is a great one, and sometimes people have unrealistic expectations about emergency rooms and need to consider the facts. All that being said, if you have an emergency, need extra help, and want to receive proper, thorough care, come to this hospital and you won’t be disappointed. Waiting room is on the smaller side, so don’t bring unnecessary amounts of people for an emergency. Thank you Adventist Health Tehachapi for taking care of me.

Keith King

Basic care service here, if you need more they contract you out to Hall Ambulance services where they will take the money your insurance gives them and then come after you for the rest. Better off driving to Bakersfield if you can...

Lauren Powell

I don't think I've ever had a good experience here. Some of the nurses are nice and have good intentions, but I've also heard them lie saying that they checked on me, but it had been three hours since I had seen my nurse. I was in a bed in pain and waiting to see if I had an allergic reaction while the nurses were all huddled talking. More recently, I got charged for something I denied since I already got tested for the particular sickness. They proceeded to tell me, "everybody lies" and tested me for it though I told them it was negative a few days ago by someone who specializes in it. Sure enough, I got a $200 bill in the mail for the test I refused and now I can't get ahold of anyone to dispute it. I also can't tell you how many times my family has waited for this place; my brother got bit by a dog and it took them 8 hours just to see him. I went in there with a 104 F fever; after waiting for two hours, we overheard someone else say (who were waiting for 6 hours for a simple result) that they could leave and get receive the results in the morning. Then they gave me the wrong paperwork! I would not be so bitter because everyone makes mistakes and they're human, but this isn't just one visit. It's EVERY visit (I'm accident prone). I'll be driving anywhere else in an emergency even though I'm right up the road.

DJ RULAZ BACHATU

they are very rude and take forever to take you in no matter your circumstances.

Mike T

I checked myself in to the ER for extreme alcohol sickness like I've never felt before and the nurses and doctors took me in right away. I was treated with so much care that I couldn't be more grateful. I feared they would scold me for self inflicting my own illness but instead they treated it very seriously. I am very thankful for the care they provided. Very much appreciated.

Christine Soriano

I went last night from a fall from horse and cracked my helmet and they didnt even take a CT. Just xrays and blood work. They just gave me some pain meds and sent me on my way... Very upsetting

A breath of fresh air! The Staff and essential especially the nurses in surgery and recovery were amazing. They were polite, courteous, knowledgeable, and experienced. They cared for my wife like she was family. Surgeon was also professional and did a great Job. Emergency room was full to the brim but they still tried to help as soon as they could. Triage is triage and the most I’ll will always demand the most attention. I will not hesitate to bring my loved ones in

Gary Katz

Had a nice experience having blood drawn and an X-ray. No long wait times and the staff were great!

Shayne Schmidt

Waited 5 hours and was not seen, One lady was waiting 9 hours. The 4 girls working up front just chit chat the entire time and when we asked for a cold pack they never brought one out. Horrible place and it makes me sick how those girls sit up there getting paid to gossip. HIRE MORE DOCTORS , You don't need all the girls up front , use that salary to HIRE more DOCTORS. Pathetic place for sure

Judith Quijada

The staff is wonderful, patient and kind. BUT, if you don't want to spend hours there and then transfered to another E.R. just to spend another 6 to 7 hours there, ask if they have the necessary equipment first and make sure they clarify "they have a bed". Ugh! Feeling really disappointed in the medical industry.

Dianna Condon

The nurses are beyond amazing. They were professional, skilled, caring, attentive and compassionate. State of the art facility. Highly recommend using this hospital

Sandra Olivas

Briannan Armstrong

Nick Gallrado

Staff was awesome and friendly but the wait time was really long, need to be more organized when it comes to patient care and wait time .. some hospitals are faster than this one

Tedi Bare

Wonderful wonderful staff clean no waiting loved it

Roger Hall

Went to emergency room yesterday. Attendants were very friendly and compassionate. After all information was taken I was escorted to a bed. Less than 5 minutes a very friendly doctor came in. I was diagnosed and prescription was written. The whole process took about 1/2 hour from beginning to end.

Tyler Garner

Been here since 1:30 it's now 4:00 And still haven't been seen.

Fauna Estep

Have always had any testing done here, now they no longer take my insurance, You would think County of Kern Blue Cross would be accepted in an area with so many Firefighter families and in Keen Country. Never even mentioned it to me when I scheduled or arrived. What good is a local hospital that isn’t serving the locals. When I was in last they were over run with non emergency clients from Cal City. Do they even contribute to the funding to have a hospital in Tehachapi? From the looks of them I doubt it!

Kev E

Amazed they are still in business. If your emergency can wait, I'd recommend anywhere else but Tehachapi Valley Health Care facility. They checked my blood pressure, and did the thing-on-the-finger i think to check pulse. Thats it, and they couldn't even help with the issue i came in for. For total, after the two above tasks, i received two bills, one for $388, and another for almost $300. DEFINITELY will not use their service ever again. Again, i warn anyone from using this facility and hope you don't have to go through the same trouble I had with them.

Amanda Martin

This hospital is a joke. We ended up leaving after 4 hours and still not being seen. It's nearly midnight now and my 4 year old daughter is exhausted. Damn joke.

Ed & Yvonne Dunlap

I am going there with a special needs patient. GIVE THEM A BREAK FOLKS!!! They just opened!!!!

Billy van Graan

$970 to see a doctor for 10 minutes and get one injection. CRAZY expensive.

David Hammons

I had a blood pressure scare (219/112 when I came in). The staff was eager to help. I went to get blood drawn and me and the nurse were talking and laughing, same thing happened with the imaging lady. By the time I got a bed, which was not long, my bp was 170/80. I don't know who keeps giving this hospital low scores but personally I received nothing but the best care possible. I take my hat off to the staff, nurses, doctors, admin. You all are wonderful! God bless you.

Jamie Island

This hospital is absolutely great all around. Never had any problems here. They treat everyone (even the guests) so wonderful. Sure seems family run , I wouldn't choose any other hospital. Excellent employees, must include Natalie , Amanda, and all other nurses and doctors. They were outstanding and many more people since I've been here with my mother for 12 days. Mom came in short of breathe, and a heart problem. They took care of her like their own. We are still here but we will for sure reccomend this hospital to everyone. I saw the er reviews and I can say at least they're kinda wrong. Because I was in there for a deep laceration that needed stitches. I waited about 10 minutes and I was in being taken care of..Only thing is the stitches were a little sloppy but acceptable. Perfect place ! A+! CLEAN

Jena Zurian

Small triage 24 bed ER so waits are shorter than I've experienced other places. I was actually there for what ended up being a more serious condition and had to be transported elsewhere so in the time I got there at 6p they were pretty full but by 220a they were very empty and stayed that way until the time I left around 7. So 2-7 may be their hotspot. They are going through some staffing changes and it showed. Most of the employees are very knowledgeable all of the employees are very nice. They don't deal with really serious surgical stuff but the Dr at least knew what he was doing and diagnosed the right thing, he just couldn't treat it. If you have something simple, come here. If you have something more involved you could go elsewhere. Thanks for everything!

susie ormsby

I have had three occasions to visit Adventist Health Hospital in Tehachapi, CA and each time I was treated with respect and competence. My problems were efficiently diagnosed and effective treatment accomplished in a timely manner. I am very thankful for the help I received at this facility and very thankful to have such help so close to home.

Dee H

I love Adventist Health Hospitals. I choose SJCH in Bakersfield over all other hospitals in the area because of how much they care, how thorough they are and how much they go above the call of service to make you comfortable. That said, the hospital in Tehachapi is a joke. Is this because Adventist health has not taken complete charge yet? Or is it because they haven't done an overhaul so the disrespect and disregard for a patients health and safety is allowed to continue? Whatever it is we will choose another hospital until they get things under control. The nurses stand around chatting with each other instead of checking on their patients, the doctors dismiss you or misdiagnose you because they are dismissive. I took my son in because his face was swollen, hot to the touch and looked like he had been in a brutal MMA fight (He hadn't, he just woke up that way) and the doctor said it was likely his asthma causing it so he gave him a breathing treatment. When that didn't work he said it was maybe the soap he was using and sent us home. As a nurse I was disgusted, but challenging them at Tehachapi hospital gets you no where. They still discharge. So I took him elsewhere and it turns out he had a serious infection and needed antibiotics. Which I suggested to the moron who saw my son. He shook his head and said something along the lines of he knows I am a worried mama but he is a trained physician. I would like to shove this worried mama's boot up that trained physicians.... Well you get the picture

Lydia Kielpinski

I take my son to the pediatricians at Adventist Health Clinic and they are awful. The front desk clerk is rude as hell and even when you walk in you can tell she is annoyed and hates her job. She gets paid to help people and greet them when they walk in so I shouldn't feel like my presence is inconvenient for her. The nurse practitioner was sweet and helpful. If I tell the physician something is wrong with my son they just go Google it and print me out something. I know how to Google. I'm not talking my son back there and I suggest nobody else goes either. They shouldn't even be in business.

Cheri Alcaraz

The experience was truly amazing. No wait , both times we were there, and the staff is very caring and professional .Thank you to the Doctors and nurses that make this possible.

Jefferson Cox

It's better than going to Lancaster Hospital.

Jesica Pelayo

Walked into the ER around 5:30am with my sick 2 year old. The waiting room was empty, good sign. We immediately got admitted and seen in the triage, then walked over to a bed. We waited for the doctor to see us, he was great, very friendly and helpful when I asked questions. Extra points for giving my child a dosage of antibiotics so I wouldn't have to wait until the pharmacy opened. We were out by 6:30am. Fastest ER visit I've ever had, and my child is looking better already. Giving it 4 stars instead of 4 because they are not in my insurance network :( so I might have to pay all services and medication my daughter was given out of pocket. Would return for an emergency, if needed.

Matthew M

I went for a simple issue after waiting two and a half hours in a tiny waiting room I finally made it into a room the doctor was a complete a**hole who lectured me on a medication that I've taken for two years. Upon finishing the pharmacys in the area were all closed and wasn't given one to leave because I was driving, nor was I offered one for when I made it home needless to say I had to deal with the issue once I made it home. Wish I would've just drove the extra 8 miles to the other hospital where you're treated like a human being I was treated like an addict/seeker I offered my doctor name and phone number to confirm the issue at hand honestly UNLESS YOU'RE DYING AVOID THIS PLACE even then I would rather drive the additional miles to another hospital after my experience.

Joseph Lombardi

In the last 6 hours, one walk-in patient has actually been taken back into the actual ER. Apparently, they had an emergency. What kind of hospital can only handle one case at a time? Multitasking anyone? This is unacceptable.

Stacy Warner

Wonderful staff! Everyone in the entire hospital was so friendly! The nurses and Dr. Genuinely cared about what was going on with me. Ran tests and didnt come up with the problem, so ran some more tests and figured out what was wrong! Thanks guys great job! It was so nice to be treated as a patient and not just a number!

Cheyenne Watts

They performed emergency surgery on my husband. They did an amazing job. I am beyond thankful for this place.

Tara Forrest

The staff were very friendly and I was checked in as soon as I arrived.

Sheila George

I went there twice for that same thing, turned which turned out to be something that was quite serious. The first time around the doctor couldn't find what was wrong. The second time I was able to give more accurate information and the doctor got me into emergency care real quick. I ended up having to be transferred for the resulting surgery Long story short, The people there are great, it's quite a casual atmosphere, and throughout my time there I was able to forget about the possibility that I could have died. A+

I've never once had "anything" negative to say about this E.R. They've treated me family and I with the upmost respect and I can honestly say they are, "Hands down the very best E.R!" They're not only respectful, courteous, compassionate, and very thorough but they actually listen. Which now in days you won't see in many E.R.'s. I've been to the E.R in Palmdale called Palmdale Regional and my experience there was nothing short from "Horrible!" I've even went to an E.R in the valley called Olive View to have my grandma seen and once again it was just a horrible experience. I have so much faith though with this here E.R that I've not only recommended it to my family and friends I've gone as far as to drive out of my way to actually take them there myself. I'm glad that I did also, because my family was able to get the actual treatment that they needed. Just the other day I took in my grandma not knowing they had opened a new Hospital. It was only their 2nd day open and let me just tell you, I was amazed by just how great of a job they were "ALL" doing. I'm so happy they finally were able to get a much bigger place because it was well overdue. I'd like to thank them once again for their continued success and wish them all nothing but the best!!!
