I had knee replacement surgery here on September 16, 2019. Everyone here is professional, courteous and kind. The nursing staff responded very quickly any time I needed anything. I highly recommend this hospital. They truly care!

Naomi Allen

Went in for nausea and vomiting every 20-30 minutes for more than 12 hours. I was 6 weeks pregnant at the time. I was taken back within an hour and the ER staff were very respectful, but you could hear all their conversations since the rooms have only curtains. They tried giving me oral meds but when those came right back up, they immediately started an IV and were able to send me home a couple hours later with detailed explanations of how to prevent this from happening. Didn't realize until I got billed that it is out of network with my insurance but it was still much less than my husband and I expected.

Great doctors, caring nurses, and awesome radiology technicians. 10/10 would visit again next time I'm run over by a crazed Tempe motorist.

While on vacation my husband needed emergency surgery . The ED staff were awesome as were the OR and unit. Everyone treated us with respect and made a unexpected event easier to deal with. Thanks to everyone

I had a very bad respiratory failure awhile ago and the staff here was great to me from the moment I rolled in. They’re very loving and careful.

Satisfied with the service what this hospital has given during my wife's delivery. All the nurses were highly skilled and good in nature. They really took a great care of my wife and baby. Also hospital provided me 25% discount on my final bill .

Everything but the food is a-one in my book. Staff super friendly and top notch.

I was in to get stiches in my face. ER was not busy on a Thursday morning at 4am. I heard the stuff talking about how I got a free piercing referring to the dog bite on my face. The person that did my stitches was horrible. She went to put the stitches and my face was not numb and also not to mention she did not clean my wound before doing the stitches. Also when you get stitches it's the clean and sterile procedure there's a certain way you have to open up the suture kit and gloves she did not do it that way. The doctor that came to see me when I first got there was not the same doctor that did my stitches. A nurse when I first got there was so tired she was not making any sense. When I asked her about my medication during discharge she had no idea what it was and what it was used for she had to look it up on her phone right in front of me. It hasn't even been 24 hours and if I get an infection from my stitches there's going to be a major problem.

This is the best hospital experience I've ever had! My husband went to the ER on Oct 4 because his PCP thought he was having a pulmonary embolism. We got to the ER I gave them his EKG from his PCP. They took him right back and started testing on him right away. The test results were coming back stat. They did every test possible and within 3 hours they had all the results and he did have a pulmonary embolism. I was so scared and the ER nurse Sarah I believe it's her name day down and explained everything to me. About 1/2 an hour after that he was transferred to the ICU. The ICU has 1 nurse per 2 patients. They had every specialist possible come in to see my husband because he's generally very healthy and there is no explanation for this. All the DR's were great. All the nurses were amazing as well. They answered all my question's and above all they treated him with the utmost care. I wouldn't hesitate to put his, mine or children's lives in their hands if the need be. Thank you to all the staff at Tempe St. Luke's and just a little extra thanks to Netta the ICU nurse for telling me your experience and putting my mind at ease some.

One star is to many.... Was advised by my son's doctor to take him to the ER for a more in depth exam. Took my son to this hospital ER, everything went smoothly, no long wait to get to the back, was seen by medical staff and was told my son would get pain medicine then a ultrasound. We waited, waited and waited for nearly 2 hrs and nothing. Ask desk staff how much longer was told unsure but it shouldn't be much longer. We left and will be going to another hospital that exhibits true patient care. I will be submitting a complaint with there administrative department and our insurance company.

My fiance cut his finger and ended up needing stitches. Our experience at St. Lukes was great! They got us in and out within a timely manner. The PA J.Leahy and nurse were efficient and very helpful. Thank you!

Is there security at the Tempe St. Luke’s hospital if so I would like to apply.

Worst hospital ever. The only patient care they provide is in the form of their ridiculous bills. Visit #1 they turned my minor daughter away who came by ambulance because they could not get ahold of a parent at 3am for consent to treat. But they still billed for the ER visit and doctor that never was seen. Visit #2, completely ignored the parent there (I was invisible to the staff) and administered expensive, unnecessary and not authorized tests with the nurse stating in a very snide tone, that the phone approval they had from her father for "Initial exam" entitled them to do whatever they wanted, they didn't need to discuss anything with the parent that was on the scene. Then the ER doctor walked in to stop a CT scan that I stated was not authorized by me, and said right in front of my daughter "Her mother wants to cancel the CT scan, she doesn't want to know what is wrong with her". What? When I asked what was the purpose of this expensive test and why was is it medically necessary,, what were they specifically looking for, the doctor's answer was "Don't worry, you can make payments as low as $25 a month". How does that answer my question? I am filing an ethics complaint with the State Dept of Health on the horrid statement made in front of my daughter. I asked 3 times for detailed bills with the CTR codes to submit for insurance on visit #2, which they finally sent details but no billing codes. Their billing department is rude and hangs up on you. Worst service ever, But they sure are on top of sending you a slew of bills. Also the reason they have so many bad doctor reviews is they don't really have many doctors on staff and use a bunch of teledoc services that also double bill you. Stay far away from this hospital if you want to live.

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend to come here at all! I would rather be seen somewhere else. I rather drive farther to a hospital that has better customer service. The receptionist are not the friendliest. So I’m a self pay went in there to take my cast off because it tight and the doctor when he comes in the room doesn’t even look at me plus the assistant cuts me and scar me. When he tried taking the cast off. Then 7 months later I’m in Collections Because I have to pay the doctor. I’ve already gave my pay for the $600. I really don’t understand plus they had all my info wrong except my social security. So I owe the doctor 12000 just to be present in the room for less than 1 min. Wow just wow. Only 21 and in collections. Very very very very disappointed in this hospital!!

The worst place to come for emergency the staff is garbage, lazy, and inconsiderate. They act like they just graduated from icdc, Everest or one of those get you in and out schools and there doing you a favor for being at work.

I really don't understand how this hospital is still in business. My grandmother was transported to this hospital after having breathing troubles. When I arrived the woman made me sit in the waiting room claiming that they were "getting her ready" although she had been there for well over an hour. After demanding to see her, the lady rolled her eyes and finally opened the door. The room they put my grandmother in was small and she shared it with at least 4 other people over the course of the day. After 6 hours, she was finally admitted to the hospital because she had Influenza A which had gone untreated even while other patients were in the room with her and is very contagious. Before transferring her into a room upstairs, they told me that we would be waiting at least another hour because they don't move people during shift change although she had been there since 11am and it was about to be 7pm. The room they transferred her to was inappropriate for her condition. After clumsily bumping her into every wall in the damn place, they finally put her in a room more suitable except for the fact that they "forgot to put her oxygen back on and turn on her machine. Luckily I know basic medical knowledge and turned on the machine and went to go tell her nurse about the incident. Instead, I found the head nurse and told her about the incident. She was able to find me a more competent nurse. I felt very uncomfortable about leaving her there alone over night. The next morning I asked my grandmother what the doctor told her and she said that he told her that she had pneumonia. When the nurse came in an hour later, she said that my grandmother didn't have pneumonia and that my grandmother was maybe confused. (She's old, but not that old lady!!) When the doctor came in a little later, he assured me that my grandmother did have pneumonia and was starting her on antibiotics. When the nurse came to check on us, she still had no clue what the hell was going on. At this point I had about had it. That night on my way out of the hospital I asked for a plastic bag to take my grandmothers dirty laundry in. It took someone more than 30 minutes to find me a plastic freaking bag. I will give credit to the one lady, Kim, who did hear me out and called the complaint board for me. All in all, if you want great care from a hospital (which I am sure you do) DO NOT GO HERE. The nurses are slow, rude and incompetent. You are better off fending for yourself.

8 days in the hospital and I still don’t have an answer to what was going on with me. One doctor told me I had c diff, only to find out from a different doctor that my test was negative?! I was put into isolation and wasn’t able to see my family because of the false diagnosis. They falsely discharged me a few days into my admission only for me to come back within 18 hours. Doctors didn’t really communicate with me and the poor nurses were so overworked that it took them an hour to come into my room when I had a panic attack. I won’t ever be going back to this hospital. Shame since it’s the closest to me.

I went in the ER for extreme abdominal pain. I was seen within 45 minutes. The ER staff were great , the Dr. Informed me of what it was and quickly more tests were.run. The nurses were friendly and I was kept informed all along the way. I was admitted and a Dr. saw me that night. This is where things fall apart. We talked for quite some time mostly he asked me questions about my history. He said they saw a cyst and more tests would be run. He didn't tell me what the treatment plan was going to be in the meantime... I quickly found out I was NPO but didn't know why... The nurse said I may go in for surgery... This is a serious sign for pancreatitis. This scared me. Finally, it's been 24 hours since I have eaten, no food, no information. The room was extremely hot, I asked about it several times to no avail. I finally couldn't take it anymore, no one could tell me when the Dr would be up to see me I didn't know why I was being starved. I could only eat ice chips. I didn't know if I was going in for surgery or what... I finally said I was leaving unless the Dr. came to see me. 40 minutes later the Dr. came up with a serious chip on his shoulder, as though I had inconvienced his entire day. He was rude and unprofessional. I got the feeling that I, HIS PATIENT, and a GUEST in that hospital didn't matter a bit. He could care less if I was informed, or stayed, or left. HE was the only thing that mattered to him. I left AMA. I will never go back to St. Luke's! I have had many surgeries in the past and this, by far, has been my worst experience. Shame on that Dr. for bringing the entire hospital down in my mind. At least PRETEND you care about your patients. I would likely have stayed had he been apologetic, empathetic and kind... He was not. I would like to add an UPDATE.. I spoke with Cindy, the Director, and I would like to say she was very nice. It's unfortunate that one Dr. who is not necessarily hired by the hospital had such a negative impact on my experience. Cindy did say she would notify the practice, he is associated with, of my concerns. Other than his attitude and the room being excessively hot it wasn't a bad experience. My suggestion is that little bit better communication as to a treatment plan, in between Dr. rounds, would have helped me immensely being that my Mom and I did become alarmed at the mention of surgery which, as it turns out, I wasn't going to need. Both the ER and nursing staff were great!

This place is a damn JOKE. I took my boyfriend there on the 20th because he developed a weird itch that just wouldn't leave. The doctors said it was "allergy" and gave him useless medicine. The same night he was still itching badly. So we went back the next day and still the same thing: wrong diagnosises and useless medicine. The doctor even said that our incident wasn't an emergency and told us to go to Urgent Care. Urgent didn't really help much but the did the best they could. So today being April 22, we went back to the hospital and the front desk woman gotten very snarky with my boyfriend saying "they sent you away because they can't help." Which isn't what happened. We waited there for a good 30 minutes before we left because no doctor came to get us to go to he back yet this guy who signed in a minute before us was seen after waiting 10 minutes. If you guys have an emergency go to any emergency room except this one.

Skyler Robinson

They were quick at figuring out what issues I was having and was able to provide me with a great solution

Patrick Mikolajczak

Do not go to this hospital. The “doctors” do not communicate important information with patients or anyone. Also, nurses were terrible. Girlfriend was there for 4 days and came back still sick. Now on day 6 and have to go to another hospital to get proper treatment.

What an experience. I woke up with a corneal abrasion. It was in the middle of the night nothing was open and I had never had one before so I didn't know what was going on. My eye was swollen shut and for 2.5 hours I laid there in pain. The doctor finally comes in with coffee in hand and without numbing my eye opens it up and sticks a flashlight in it. NO GLOVES. How disgusting and painful. Light sensitivity is pretty common with abrasions. He proceeds to tell me...he cant see anything so he'll go make a plan and come back. He never does. They kick me out for something they don't deem "an emergency" and have me sign something stating I would not incur charges. According to what she said since I couldn't really open my eyes. I go to the doctors later when I track down an appt on a Saturday and I am diagnosed with a 40% sever corneal abrasion. Great work team garbage. Better still I get a bill today for 1300 dollars. Enraged. I fully plan on filing a complaint with the state medical board if my bill is not resolved. Also some of your staff could go through and refresh themselves on common injuries and best practice.

I went in for severe dental pain that I was having since friday night from a temporary crown that I had. It was obvious that I was in pain. The doc looked at me and the tooth that was causing it. He asked a couple of questions then left. A minute later the triage nurse came and said that the doc deemed it NOT AN EMERGENCY and said either I pay 250.00 to continue treatment or they discharge me with recommendations. Of course I took the discharge. This is a perfect example of "bad doctor" and the first time I have ever been turned away for treatment. If you want to get treated for ANYTHING... DO NOT GO TO- Tempe St. Lukes.

Going to the ER on Thanksgiving morning WASN'T part of the plan. But we spent Thanksgiving morning in the ER due to my husband fracturing/dislocating his wrist. All I could think about was how terrible it was going to he because the staff are working on Thanksgiving day. Our nurse was Steve and he was just BEYOND fantastic. Thorough and explaining what was going on. Sandy was our NP and he gave us step by step instructions . Chris also helped us and gave us some laughs. When people GENUINELY love their job, it shows. And this group of gentlemen were the reason why our ER visit was beyond swell. As we were discharging, they still had the AUDACITY to have me fill out a "how to make my experience better" feedback sheet. Lol these guys have MASTERED it. Thank you guys for being in such great spirit on a day that you could've spent elsewhere. ;)

Awful. I came in for a back problem. It was so painful it woke me out of my sleep. I waited for 3 hours to see a Dr. He came in, did not examine me, and told me to get physical therapy. The whole meeting took 5 mins, if that. I was then hit with a $710 bill and given a script for painkillers. I waited 3 hrs for that!!??? I could've self diagnosed that from home on WEBMD. I don't want painkillers. I want a solution!! Turned out I have a slipped disk in my back. I have a good mind to see my lawyer. Thanks for nothing!!!

Jennifer Vigil

Have been in different ERs several times for pregnancy complications. St Luke's saw me straight away, explained everything in terms I could understand, and even advised me on what paperwork to give to my OBGYN in the morning. I've been so used to having to wait hours for any kind of results, that it was a pleasant experience to be a top priority at this hospital. I will be coming here for any more emergencies instead of Banner.

Michele McAfee

The RN took the time to sit down, review my test results and research a recommended diet for long term healing. He carefully explained my short term antibiotic regimine and articulated how to prevent. A+++

Gary Armstrong

From check in to check out, I had a great experience. Total knee replacement surgery went great! Couldn't be happier. All staff had a great attitude and you could tell they really cared and like their jobs!

Malia Hughes

THIS IS THE MOST DISGUSTING HOSPITAL. THE STAFF IS CARELESS AND RUDE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY ONE GO HERE

Maria Medina

Thk you for you care to all the nurses and Drs.espesial mente to Dr. Frausto,Stephen Dios lo bendiga

Ty Porter

Terrible, I have literally never been to a more unprofessional medical facility. I bring my girlfriend in for severe alcohol poison/trouble breathing and immediately upon entering the emergency entrance I ask for help from a blonde nurse- she proceeds to laugh, says “we’ll need more info”, and LEAVES. She literally LEFT and didn’t come back!!! It took my girlfriend yelling out of delirium for someone else to notice. As I sit here in a room next to the station containing all the nurses they are literally yelling, cussing, discussing their sex lives and who they like. How is this acceptable? As people who have a leader- how is this acceptable to you guys? For the sake of people who genuinely just want help- have some professionalism.

Dale Buchert

The one star says it all...maybe it will be better this time...

Jordan Kalinowski

Dr Chris Hinson needs to be stopped!!! Its ridiculous that he's allowed to continue practicing. Scary if u see his name on your hospital bracelet you need to remove yourself and go to a different place for your safety

Kai M

MY PROPERTY WAS STOLEN DURING OR AFTER MY OUTPATIENT SURGERY. I WENT TO SLEEP WITH PROPERTY & WOKE UP AT HOME WITH NOTHING. WENT BACK TO HOSPITAL TODAY, “Nothing was turned in” WHY WOULD NURSES & SURGICAL AIDES HAVE TO STEAL FROM PATIENTS????? Just WOW.

Genny Leonard

Incompetent people running the joint.

this is the worst hospital you will ever go to the worst service ever !!! my 1 year old daughter and I waited in the waiting room for over 2 hours while everyone else was getting seen before us while my daughter had a fever of 102 and rash all over her body. .she was also the youngest one in the waiting room so as we were leaving I went to withdrawal her, they couldn't find her in the system because the previous receptionist had put her all the way to the extended waiting time because she wasn't that important I was furious by then I just can't believe grown adults that looked perfectly fine were being seen because my pour little girl was ..never take your children here it's the worst ! I will never be returning here again

in desperate need of updating or something..

Just had a egd this morning with Dr Richardson and all the surgury staff was awesome. Smooth procedure, great throat spray technique used by Dr Richardson for numbing my throat prior to the procedure. Over all I would totally go back for any additional procedures needed. Excellent experience all the way around.

haro kario

Just needed a couple of stitches and it took over 3 hours. After hearing that he will be in shortly 6 times

Genelle Mills

We had to come in for respiratory distress for my father. Nathan, up front was so respectful and kind. He treated us so nicely and went above and beyond to help my dad. Josh, the physicians assistant tended to my father right away and was able to troubleshoot his distress. Every staff member from the front desk to the radiology team went above and beyond to make our time there comfortable and worry free. We are so thankful to the staff at Tempe St Luke’s ER!

ER doctor as well as my ER Nurse Trina were phenomenal and extremely informative about what was going on. Transferred to Floor 2, starving, in pain and not feeling the best but thankful to finally get everything taken care of. I arrived to room 226 around 530pm and nurse said she had called for orders and I was unable to eat until doctor loaded orders in computer. 630pm I again ask about eating and she says still no orders, 730p night nurse and day nurse doing rounds and again I ask and no orders. Now, I'm irritated because working in hospital I know the nurse could of recieved a T.O on my diet as I have numerous times with patients. Markeisha (my night nurse) clearly seen my frustration asked me to hold on give her 15 minutes. Markeisha came back explaining why I couldn't eat per doctor, immediately had meds to make me comfortable from the pain as well as mouth swabs for dryness. She continued to check on me and is a huge blessing. She is someone I will never forget and she definitely needs to be recognized for her astonishing patient care.

Rachael McCoy

Very small hospital and somewhat dirty lazy staff. 25 year old son in ICU for 4 dsys and then in a regular 2nd story room for 7 days. Had to clean the room myself and point out dirty conditions constantly. My son got salmonella in the hospital from serving him the wrong kind of diet.

Lily Z

My mom was brought there by ambulance there yesterday 11/13/17. When we arrived the staff just walked by us for about 15 minutes never acknowledging us. The paramedic even said hey we have a patient here. Then one nurse turned around and said ok what did we need. The whole staff was very rude and so dry, the nurse looked at the computer the whole time never made eye contact with us. The only person that was friendly was the X-ray tech. then to top it off check out was worse. The guy was on a phone call and never looked at me. I had to say something to get their attention. The lady looked like she hated her job and was rude when I asked her a question. The whole experience was horrible. Would never recommend anyone to this place.

Dominique Oneal

I am currently in this hospital I traveled over a hour to get here only because this is the hospital my Surgen works out of , am in the ER triage I have been pushing my call light every 30 mins for the last hour and a half and no one had came to help me yet I am in pain and in need of assistance no once has deemed in me since I was first put in here and not they seem to be ignoring the call light , I am sorry I came to this hospital and still waiting to be assisted

Phoebe Chang

It took a long time for ER. The doctor wasn't bad, service was fine. Good location though!

Laura Sackis

This was by far the worst place I have ever experienced in my life. I fainted from dehydration at a bar that had live music, they dragged me out like a drunken sailor which I was not and propped me up in a chair outside until an ambulance arrived. I could not sit up, they kept telling me to sit up. My muscles would not work, my left arm would not move in fact my muscles we're not functioning well at all. Numerous people told them I wasn't drunk nor do I do drugs. They asked if I had any underlying illnesses, at the hospital er- when I said I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, someone said, "oh one of those!" I was disgusted. The hospital is old and understaffed. Despite still being super dizzy, the doctor walked me to a restroom to take a urine sample for drug testing. It wasn't until after the test results (no drugs!) that they actually started to rehydrate me. My kidneys weren't functioning well, my heart was beating abnormal, and my BP was 90 over 60; yet I had to walk myself back to the room in the er myself. No one in the ambulance even rode in back with me. They ignored me the whole trip to the hospital. It seems the assumption is that your drunk or on drugs which I was neither. I thought I was going to die and they could not have cared less until all the tests were back. I'm not a young kid, I'm almost 60 years old. I had only been in Phoenix less than 2 weeks and not used to the heat. The treatment from many was appauling. I would not wish anyone the treatment I received there. While the doctor did request all the proper testing to assure I had no brain bleed, stroke or heart attack, and finally dumped 2 bags of fluid back in me, they still released me with some of my levels still off too much. I would not wish such poor treatment and attitudes I received from the paramedics to the ambulance drivers to the ER staff on anyone ever! Having just left Madison, WI, one of the best medical facilities and staff anywhere, to this was truly a shock and a huge disappointment. I hope I never ever have to go there again! Chances are I wouldn't make it out alive! Update: in response to your comment, I have no idea at this point who drove the ambulance but this happened on Friday, October 13th, 2017 in the evening. I do not know when we arrived at the hospital, but it was definitely after 10:30 pm. (We were there until 4 am). I was quite scared and asked if someone would sit in back with me to no response. I was worried about getting there alive. I am not a difficult patient. I am quite amicable but this whole incident had me up in arms. I told them several times in the er that the BP cuff was too tight. I was ignored and it popped off my arm leaving small cluster bruises on my arm. Who does that?

Andrew Geren

It would seem they sold or let slip some of my personal information. I keep being harassed by a fake collections agency about a hospital visit here, for which the collections agency has some of the information about my visit, but the hospital itself has no record of unpaid charges. This hospital needs keep a tighter lid on confidential information. Or in the incredible case that it's a real collection agency harassing me, this hospital needs to seriously get it's billing department sorted out. Either way... yikes! Never should have went here.

Joshua Gonzalez

The worst hospital i have ever been in by far. I was having really bad chest pain and they did the normal ekg routine which was fine. Then they moved me into an actual room. Here I waited 30 minutes before anyone even came in. Not that bad I get it it’s an ER. then we did X-rays. Then come back and I waited an hour and a half. It was like since I wasn’t having a heart attack apparently I just don’t matter anymore. Then Dr. Nguyen comes in looking like the most depressed man I have ever seen. Does a half wave and looks at me like I’m a problem. He tells me “Your ekg looks okay”. No clarification on what that means exactly. Then he tells me I have some acid reflux or something like. I’m not making up the something like that. He had no idea he was just guessing. Then he prescribes me with acid indigestion medicine and I tell him it really does not feel like that at all. He doesn’t care I’m paying him anyways. He half answers yeah well just take the medicine. And then he recommended me to go to ASU doctor to follow up. This is the worst advice ever since they can’t even diagnose a torn acl. I’m no google doctor, but Dr.(How did he get his degree?)Nguyen diagnosed me with unknown chest pain. Really? You don’t say? I could have figured that out myself you know since my chest is in pain and I don’t know why. But that part is over and I go to discharge. Here the lady who was nice before started giving me attitude when talking about my copay. The max copay for my insurance is $150 for an ER visit. She is telling me $450. Oh but wait she doesn’t know either. “It’s telling me two different numbers. One is $450 and the other is $350. I don’t know which one it is so I like going with the high one. “ What? How did you even get hired? You don’t know what you’re charging me? Then she gets even more attitude telling me to call my insurance if I have a problem with it. I asked for the billing department number to call later and still gives attitude saying she doesn’t know it directly but call the business office. Shortened: waste of time. If you are gonna die i would recommend dying instead of going to this place. You’re still going to die except you’re going to pay $450 or $350 who knows, apparently not anybody in the ER.

Mario Camacho

This is by far the most unprofessional hospital I have ever been too. They have no compassion or morals to assist anyone in need . This is one of the most run down department with the worst care. The staff is very unfriendly and rude. They have paid well to work . These people can not even fake sympathy. By far the worst hospital in the valley. Please find another e.r. yes it is always empty, but that should be a easy significant performance reflection of service, integrity and care. I would be embarrassed to be a staff member at this facility

Kalee Farberow

Came in at 12:30am with my boyfriend who was in extreme pain. He ended up needing an appendectomy and the staff could not have been nicer to us. We are two college kids who were scared out of our minds and they were wonderful. Even the surgeon took the time to talk us through everything and talked to my boyfriends mother on the phone. The post op room is great and they brought me in a chair/bed thing so I can stay with him overnight. Honestly such great service.

Elecktra Scott

If I could give 0 stars I would...the could type hospital is better than this place. Here for 4.5 hours no medication..they lost my piss..and it seems like every junkie known to man comes to this hospital

Brittany O'Shields

If you have a serious condition. DO NOT go here you will not get better. Terrible service

Chris Roberts

If I could give the lady that checked me in 5 Stars I would, she was amazing. The Doctor however, spent all of two minutes with me and told me I have Acid Reflux and that I need Prilosec. I’m no Doctor but when I have a tight throbbing stomach pain so bad I feel like I’m dying and then literally disappears as I’m talking to the nurse, it’s not Acid Reflux. My Mother and best friend both had literally the exact same pain and symptoms and both have had to have their Galbladders removed. But maybe if the Doctor spent more than 2 mins with me and didn’t feel the need to remind me that I shouldn’t eat spicy things or anything at bedtime, he would’ve been able to diagnose me correctly. Having to pay for a hospital visit where the issue doesn’t get fixed or really even examined for that matter shouldn’t be how a hospital is ran. And now I will have to pay even more out of pocket to go to a real Doctor and actually get checked out.

They charged more for just inspecting a baby..not even 5 minutes check up..they said might be because of infection that’s it... They simply asked us to wait inside to spend some additional time.... When requested to weiveoff deductible, they denied and charged $650 to insurance and $200 from my pocket..not fair...

I recently had a hip replacement at St. Luke's Hospital. All the staff involved in my surgery and care were extremely professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hospital for orthopedic surgery.

howard love

Oct 23 2017 had hip replacement surgery, Dr Sumko was fantastic and the nursing care from Amanda, Chelsea, Virginia, Mary and bobbi (PT) was excellent, very caring staff.

Joseph Ivanisko

I came in on 6-28-18 well Friday early in the morning with severe pains in my back and stomach and the doctor told me I had pancreatitis of which I've had in the past but I don't get was I was at another hospital week earlier and they didn't catch it so far I'm in my own room and they are keeping pain down and staff are very nice!!!!Thanks St Luke's Joseph Ivanisko 111

Britney Staats

Do not come to this emergency room if you have an actual emergency. Also, do not waste your using their online check in, 35 minutes later I walked out m

Taylor Yusman

Thank you to the amazing nurses. I was scared, had a really bad time at another hospital years ago.. I could tell the staff really cared.. This will be my hospital from now on.

DOROTHY CONTRERAS

My husband had knee replacement surgery here.Everyone was WONDERFUL.The staff was very attentive.

Julia Carlson

Overall a pretty good experience. Not fancy like the bigger hospitals which is fine. Total from check in to walk out 2hrs. I checked in online an hour before I showed up. Was seen within 30 minutes of arrival. Doctor Hepburn and Medical Student were helpful and prompt with my diagnosis. However the front desk needs some serious work. No one had collected my insurance and as I was walking out someone flagged me. I said I tried to show last woman, “oh she had to run out early”. To then proceed to my car and see said woman sitting in her car. Just a weird experience. The front desk had no customer service and was almost irritated that I was checking in. Other than the friendless from the front desk everything was great. I would recommend training as this is a coachable opportunity. Also, since when are hospitals allowed to have cameras in exam rooms? I may be out of date on HIPPA but that seems obvious? My care was great!!! Once you get passed the women up front everything was great.

Robin Braddock

This place is gross. They should be ashamed. My daughter was taken there for seizure activity. When we were taken back to a room and went to sit down, there was a used and bloodied band aid on the chair that we were going to sit down on. Needless to say we left and went to a real hospital. This hospital is a joke. CLEAN UP YOUR ACT ST.LUKE. literally!!!!!!!!

Heather Gitelman

I have a shunt in my brain, and came in to the ER with an intractable headache... the doctor (assuming I was drug seeking) refused any medications, or imaging and instead conducted a pelvic exam. My only conclusion is that this was done in order to teach me a “lesson,” or as some sort of punishment, as there is no other rational for it? Need I say more? This hellhole should’ve been shut down LONG ago!

Giovanna VanMeter

The nature of emergency rooms is that they're unpredictable. Sometimes busy and other times not. I was lucky enough to be seen straight away for a minor concern. My insurance isn't taken anywhere else in the area due to living out of state. In and out in an hour and a half with very friendly nurses and doctors. Thank you!

Fattie Baddie

Super horrible experience. First of all, I went to the hospital with my girl for a miscarriage and she wasn't seen for 3 hours. Blood is coming out of her and they never offered a pad until I said something. We end up having to come back to the hospital because they sent her home with no pain meds after a miscarriage. To top it off when they discharged us the first time they never even told us the ultrasound results or nothing about that. This place is by far on of the worst experiences that I've had at a hospital. The staff talks about the patients in such a foul manner. I happened to record my girls procedure and you hear so much negative and foul talk about patients. It's truly sad. Had I not been visiting and camping out at a local hotel I wouldn't have came back. And let me tell you, the second time was worst. They left her sitting there miscarrying without the proper meds for a second time. I highly don't recommend this hospital. If you go in the ER treatment rooms you will see patients looking like "HELP MEEEE!" This company needs new nurses and maybe management when it comes to dealing with patients. Me and my girl witnessed the security and a male nurse aggressively handling a patient because he wanted to leave and they didn't feel like he was ready. They said they was stopping him from leaving so he wouldn't injure himself more but from what I could see they was roughing him up worse than if they just let him walk. Foul experience. A couple alright staff but overall a -10. No place for an African American patient for sure. As I'm writing this review I asked for a water and they brought me a cafeteria cup filled with water and ice. Any other hospital offers bottled water. Board of Health needs to really check this place out.

Linda Newhouse

Saturday noonish - maybe I was just lucky. Went in for an excruciating gout attack in my wrist, by ambulance - I don't drive. Nurses at entrance, seemed to ignore us, but I was quickly taken to an examining room. Waited about on hour or so to see a Doctor, was ignored prior - no nurse visit or check. Seen by a PA, Josh. He was very kind and considerate. Got immediate pain meds. X-rayed it found nothing wrong, but trying to position my wrist was hell. Sent home with appropriate prescriptions. The front desk called a cab for me to get home - I didn't have enough cash, so they called a second cab. I use a walker and they made sure I got in OK. Home by 3pm. Light years better than a similar experience at Banner Desert, early this year.

Gloria Atkins

Quick ER service, friendly staff, attentive doctors. But bad food .. lol my son had to stay a couple days and I was running out to get food for him. So be prepared. Oh and bring a sweater like all hospitals it's cold.

Katie Scott

They were quick to get me into a room, I saw the doctor right away, got xrays and a diagnosis, & was discharged in under 2 hours. All of the staff were professional & friendly. The best experience I have had in an emergency room.

John Adlesic

Wish I could have left more positive review. Hospital initiated aggressive treatment on my right toe infection. Great. However, several other actions or nonactions override experience. For example, I asked Sandra, nurse from 7pm to 7am, if she could get me a new sheet so I could put a fresh one on my bed, since current one was now stained after 3 days of no turnover. She remarked, incredulously, that the issue was one for day shift. And She would not be bothered with a day shift issue. In a sign of gross neglect, laziness, and pettiness, she said she would, however, find out who wason day shift and report the person. Meanwhile, I'm suffering from severe infection and she can't be bothered to even give me a fresh sheet. Wicked!

Shana Cohen

Horrible experience for my daughter. She is 38 weeks pregnant and not feeling well so she went in and they did a vaginal check and my daughter informed the doctor she was hurting her, the doctor said, "oh sorry, I forgot to take my rings off" The doctor took her ring off and placed the same glove back on her hand and did another check. It was a dirty environment and I am shocked that hospital is still open.

Tamara Dooley

Broken ankle and they gave me a referral to see a doctor who doesn't even look at broken ankles. Makes alot sense eh

Rob bianchi

Mother was admitted to hospital they took good care of her, very polite staff.

Shy Sanchez

This hospital saved my life after a really bad miscarriage incident that I experienced, thanks s to the E.R. N ALL THE HARD WORKING DOCTORS n NURSES WHO TOOK THE TIME TO SAVE MY LIFE N FULLY UNDERSTOOD ME.THANKS TO THE ICU FOR SUCH LOVEING AND GREAT CARe.

Rosa Rubui

Worst of the worst! Went there for nausea and they kept me waiting for more than an hour. When they called in my name the nurse told me to get on the scale l, I was vomiting while she was asking so I could not move. My friend told her thatI already know my weight. She screamed on her and asked her not to answer for me or she would kick her out! Then asked me to go on the scale or she’ll get another patient! Very disrespectful and rude. Not to forget to mention that they got a bed for me but no body have checked on me until I screamed from muscle cramps. Turns out that they forgot about me and there was no nurse in charge! Very unprofessional disrespectful staff. Don’t recommend at all.

James Stocking

I have been here twice and both times the doctors were unwilling to help figure out what was going on. Instead of trying to help they just stood there and asked questions without any tests. The nurses are great and are more willing to help than the doctors. If you are sick or have a skin rash, dont go here. Its a waste of time and money. Try going to the one in Scottsdale for they are far better in taking care if patients.

Linda Vargas

My mom has received the most thorough care. The staff are all really attentive. I was surprised that it only took 3 hours after walking into E. R. for her to be admitted in a room! She is receiving top quality care! Very happy with her care

Leslie Cawthon

Staff was so rude!!!

Diane Perciful

I would rate this hospital in the negatives but it won't let me. Don't ever go to this hospital if you want medical attention. I took my boyfriend in for the second time with kidney infection. We waited two hours no nurse, no doctors as he sat in extreme pain. I asked for a cup to pee in and a guy said he we would get one and never returned. Not to mention the bed had an old sandwich and old milk underneath the bed. Who knows how long that was there the mustard was like rotten play dough. After almost three hours we left and told the front desk we were leaving due to lack of service and the lady laughed. This hospital needs inspection from the health department and patients care.

Barbara Atkins

This has to be the worst hospital in the health care industry. The nurses need to be re-trained in patient care and the doctors who misdiagnose are worse. Never again..

Evelyn Perez

Truly an ER, fast, caring and attentive service. Especially during an extremely bad time.

abraham flores

Good experience and good staff but the bed was really uncomfortable and really thin mattress.

Carlos Hernandez

While it took me a while to get in, I was treated perfectly by the staff. They are really special. I've been here twice and the people here really care. Thank you guys!

Jaclyn Einfeldt

HORRIBLE. I don't care if I blood coming from eyeballs I'm never using this ER again. The front desk staff is rude and unprofessional. As I was rolled away in a wheel chair because I was in so much pain, I heard the front desk women laugh and make a joke about my condition with her co worker. I then asked a few questions about my insurance and instead of getting an answer I got snarky remarks and looks. I have been here twice now and both times I have waited way longer than necessary in the waiting room. The only reason I was seen was because I asked to leave. I had a nurse attempt to run blood tests on me after I repeatedly told her no and then she laughed and realized she was with the wrong patient. DO NOT GO HERE

Nina Marcella

I came to this hospital, after experiencing a asthma attack on my way home, driving from work. My rescue inhaler was not doing me any justice, probably due to the high pollution we have had in the area with the monsoon and extreme heat. I was 8 minutes away, and to scared to pull over and wait for the ambulance. The doctor was a complete arrogant high and mighty fellow, who said that i was not having a asthma attack but probably a panic attack. mind you i have never in all my years had a panic attack, but I have had an asthma attack. He then informed me, i did not need to be treated. He would not even look me in my face while talking to me. I mean who would lie of such a thing do you think im trying to get free prednisone? A free breathing treatment. If that were the case wouldnt i try for something a little stronger? Please save yourself the embarrassment of coming to a hospital where instead of getting help they turn you away, and there is potential that you could loose your life. The doctor even had the nerve to say, that if i died he would bring me back. Not sure who made him God, but i am sure, that nobody should come to this hospital if you are having a real emergency. St luke? This hospital should be called hitler was a St.

Xiang Yan

Me and my friend set in the room about a hour and a guy walked in make fun us than we waiting for other few hours for no reason

sam Phillips

Amazingly awesome till check out was here for heat issues nd then apon check out they told me I could walk not in this az heat even at 2 in the morning then one of the desk receptionist told ME to call cab couldn't verify it was me that told me that they had to call her they told me that's not what she said I freaked out and cussed and then she refused to help me after that the other nice desk receptionist was amazing on the other hand even though yes I was being a pain in the ass but I'm sorry it is Arizona I came here for heat issues and I'm not walking in this heat

Dylan Cooper

I have never been to a worse hospital than this one. I wish I didnt have to give them a single star. No doctor was present in the emergency room. We waited an hour for treatment before walking out. When we first arrived a heavy-set brunette woman harassed my fiancé over her service dog, mind you she is disabled. Later, I went out to the lobby after my girlfriend told me that her blood pressure was dangerously low and no doctor had come to see us. After I got her water and a snack, the same RN at the desk refused to let me back or offer an alternative solution, thus putting my fiancé's life in danger. We walked out after waiting hours and witnessing people in critical condition not being seen this whole time either. If they dare try to make us pay for offering no service we will sue for more than the bill!

Jackson Turner

If you want to live...don't go here. Any hospital with so many bad reviews should not be able to have a license to operate. NOT A CANCER HOSPITAL. Don't let them persuade you to do anything related to cancer because they are not equipped to do so, and won't send you anywhere else after several misdiagnosis'.

Anon Ymous

I was attacked & told to visit the ER to collect evidence to prosecute my attacker. The staff are an absolute joke. Misdiagnosing & refusing to complete basic screening that I need for prosecutorial evidence. Save your money & go anywhere else but here. 0/10 healthcare- bottom of their classes, inept at bedside manner, unethical & the list goes on.

Keren Veliz

Everyone here was kind and helpful. I didn’t have to wait long I literally waited about 10mins and I was taken in quickly. Thank you !!

Prabhav Pathak

Telling them a series of medical symptoms, they chose specific ones to test me and did an incomplete routine check asserting that it is the Primary doctor's job to deal with the rest. However they failed to give me a diagnostic report for my symptom regarding my headaches, severe lower back condition and insomnia. They did not do an x-ray or CT scan for it. I was diagnosed with a liver condition for which I already told I have an history of and were not able to give reason specific to my abdominal pain.

Angela Phillips

This place has the most disrespectful, arrogant and ignorant doctors I have ever seen. I would only recommend Dr. Coor if you want to die. If anyone knows how to upload video here let me know I would happily upload it...Hence showing proof of Dr. Coor and his better than thou attitude and ineptness as a physician.

V Myers

I have had 2 surgeries at St. LUKES in the past year. They have both been a great experience from the friendly staff to the professionalism of the nurses and doctors...thank you for the efforts you have all displayed to make a tense time a bearable and calming happening...

Jireh Molloy

Go somewhere else. No bed side manner. One hour after tri age to see a joke of a doctor who thinks he knows my body better than me. Nurse was rather quick and desensitized. After another hour after I petitioned to find out the next step did the doctor or NP come in then said that xrays wouldn't be necessary becaus e of my mechanism. What does that even mean !!!!???? Possible slipped disk. Walked in with pain walked out with pain. Not ever going again. For those reading this go to a Banner hospital.

Sidney Leigh

The fact that there has been so many complaints about how DISRESPECTFUL and RUDE the ladies are at the front desk, and yet it hasn’t been resolved is an absolute joke. People worrying about their loved ones should be “annoying”, and getting your eyes rolled at by grown women??? Really??? This is your job, if they don’t wanna be here then they should probably find a knew one. Let’s not forget to mention the fact that my friend was in an awful car accident and her wrist is completely broken and she sat in the HALLWAY with NO MEDICINE and a broken freaking wrist for over an hour. This place is an absolute joke.

Kaylie Hernandez

Had the worst experience at the Er. So slow and no respect for my pain and what was happening to me. I will never return and will tell everyone I know to never go! This Er needs a major Clean , better customer service , and new staff ASAP ! As I was there waiting for my docotor my parents came to visit me and ensure I was in good hands (I wasent). They told me only one person could come back with me. THATS RIDICULOUS. I am still young and wished both parents could have come back with me. NEVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!

Kitty Lune

I went there last night for a laceration on my hand and the nurse was super attentive to getting it taken care of. The staff made sure to ask the questions that needed to be answered and I got treated like I was important. The wait for being discharged from the ER was well worth it and I got the help I needed.

Woodrow Westerfield

I got the attention I needed. I was treated with respect during the entire experience. Great attentive doctors!

Donica Chavers

The doctors and nurses at this hospital are very centered and focused on their patients. I avoid hospitals like the plague but on this day i can honestly say that i felt like the doctors really cared about my health.

Tami Emmett

Pathetic. Shouldn't even be considered a hospital. Check out the reviews before you consider this place especially the ER. I do not know how they're allowed to stay in business. Honestly. Took my friend to ER on October 20. He had thrown up twice earlier in the day. Third time was a lot of blood. The ER doctor was dismissive and suggested it was acid reflux. We told him he had lost a lot of blood. Didn't seem to care or listen to us. In the early hours of October 21, my friend started throwing up a lot of blood. I called 9-11 and requested that he be taken to Banner Desert which is only a few more miles away. Threw up more blood in ambulance. Ended up having blood transfusion and surgery for tear in his stomach. I'm disgusted with the lack of interest and care from the ER staff. I still can't believe they sent him home but glad they did so that he could receive proper care from Banner. Btw, looked like college kids who were sleeping off drugs just laying on gurneys outside of rooms. I'd expect better from a hospital in Arizona. And no, I'm not interested in talking to anyone at St. Luke's. Figure your stuff out.

Shannon West

November 9th I accidentally cut my finger making bagels for my kiddos. I had to have 4 stitches. Dr. Kate Farrell truly has blessed hands! She was as gentle as could be! She is caring and compassionate! I am truly thankful to her and the other staff members I met that day and on my return trip to have the stitches removed! I hope I don't have to go to ER again but if I do I would definitely choose Tempe St. Luke's!

Emmanuel Perez

Horrible, we went there due to my wife having symptoms of a heart attack at 11:30 pm my wife wants to wait it out and so we do but she gets worse with her symptoms we arrived at 1 pm woke up our daughters of 2 year and younger and went to there ER and the front desk immediately started laughing and very sarcastically said ok if you want to just check her out but I doubt it go ahead sign the forms...so we left. That was not only unprofessional but also a belittling to people who are not doctors and have been told about watching the symptoms. I will file a formal complaint in the morning

Joe Great

OH come on guys please run for your life. So many bad ER doctors in one place.... PLEASE RUN..... This is truly one of the WORST hospitals in the country. I know someone who works there well and let it be known it is truly an embarrassment that the medical community actually allows this hospital to stay open.... Please do the valley area a favor and have this place shut down.. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.... THE OTHER BAD REVIEWS are SPOT ON!!! YOU CAN"T EVEN BELIEVE WHAT GOES ON HERE...... THE LACK OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS MIND BOGGLING.... PLEASE RUN for your life.. NOTE THE OB department was so poor that they just shut it down...... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Terrel Byrd

I was at St. Lukes and it was a wonderful experience I was helped by RN Michelle and her service was top self. I love this hospital I went in at 11:30am was out at 1. #GREATSERVICE

Regina Evans

I took my son here cuz his fever wouldn't go away. Even though he had to be sent to another hospital that has a kids floor if I ever had to bring him to an ER again I'd come here. they were nice and made us feel ok and explained to me what was going on. He's home now and is better.

Erica Glanton

I had out patient surgery and everyone that worked with me today was fantastic. I love great customer service and is exactly what I received. I went in nervous and I was quickly relaxed because of the staff. Job well done!!!

Jan Maes

I have been twice and receivedwonderful care they were kind considerate and very efficient. In no way from the front door desk girls to intake nurse than immediately a doctor wow no problems.

Rome Boss

I was feeling like the next stop for me was death, Flu symptoms was kicking my butt. The staff worked diligently and efficiently to give me the best care I have ever received in my life. Michael, Josh and Dr. Kate was the team taking care of me and I can’t express my gratitude. Thank you all for your hard work and it is very much appreciated.

L GROVES

Never in my 44 years of life have I walked into an ER to receive help and walk out feeling worse. Very bad experience.

Latasha Thoms

I’m not sure why they have so many negative reviews. My experience here was great. Now granted I had to wait in the waiting room for 45 minutes and I was hemorrhaging due to a miscarriage but I’ve been to some ER where you wait for hours. The doctors were very knowledgeable and attentive. They kept coming in to check on me giving me water and crackers. They were slammed and I know they were working to get me out as soon as possible.

Megan Rader

I was denied water and ignored for over 2 hours while being placed on a psych hold. I was upset and asking for help when a staff member said that I should "die quieter"

Jason Davis

Horrible experience. I went in with a pulled/strained calf, bruised rib, and bruised shin (martial arts). After checking in, which did not take very long, I was called back where I waited for over an hour for a doctor to come into my room. He glanced at my leg before saying use ice and Tylenol and left the room. I waited another 20 min before I just got up and walked out. No one said a word to me. They obviously do not care about the patients at this facility. It appears they did not even notice that I left and no one even called me to follow up about why I left. I'd rather drive to the other side of the valley than to use this ER again.

Adil Zakir

One of the worst experience ever. Please DON'T EVER VISIT THIS HOSPITAL. They're there just to make money. I went last night in an emergency, first of all I waited outside for 25 minutes, I mean really? My wife was unconscious and they want me to fill the form and sit until they call me up. Secondly, Doctor Nayakuma whatever his name is doesn't even know how to diagnose. For every freaking thing, he said let's do these test. He didn't even talk to diagnose what the actual problem was. My wife said she's having a back pain and his response always was 'OK' nothing else. He did tests out of nowhere and when I felt like please discharge us because the experience was so ridiculous. He sent some nurses to ask why are we asking that and gave us one more test. I will never ever ever go there now. Everytime there was a new person, they're going to ask you the same f questions again and again. You have everything noted down then why are you asking and discomforting patient 7-8 times asking the SAME EXACT QUESTIONS. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. IF YOU ARE TO GO EMERGENCY and NEED SOME REAL CARE, go to some other hospital. I should have seen the rating and read some reviews.

Alicia S.

My drink was spiked against my consent and after filing a police report, I was still feeling the effects of the spiked drink. I told the doctor this, and he REFUSED to complete a full drug test needed in order to prosecute my attacker. Instead, he drew a line through the original order and wrote a new order altogether to test for ONE drug. I will be contacting the Medical Board to report these crooks for malpractice and negligence. MALPRACTICE.

Shawn Chambers

Dr Michael Sumko came highly recommended by several sources at the VA Hospital and a personal friend. I am extremely happy that I chose to have my surgery done by the best Dr in Phoenix! The procedure was done a Tempe St Luke’s Hospital which is now my favorite hospital in the valley! Everyone was so nice and treated me with the best care possible! I will not hesitate to share my positive experiences with everyone. Thank you especially to Dr Sumko and Drew for the special care!

Sacha Lane

I was in the emergency room twice in one week. The doctors misdiagnosed me twice. They diagnosed me with a flu when I had a grand maul seizure and and when I had petite maul seizures they said I had a mental problem. I actually had a grade 3 brain tumor which couldve been easily found with a CT scan if they had bothered to give me one. Because of tempe saint lukes it took 3 weeks to diagnose me. The doctor was also incredibly rude to my aunt and I.

Gord Nicodemus

RN didn't seem to know what he was doing. Was writing notes with pen on his hand. Kept asking the same questions over and over. They put my fiancé on a bed that had a wet spot that smelt like urine. When we told the doctor, he acted disgruntled and bothered. Exceptionally unprofessional hospital. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Hopscotch0113

Staff was very willing to listen to my needs. This is the third time I was here and I was treated well each time.

Jimmie Strong

Wonderful! Staff here are amazing, and are really for their patients! I was seen quiclky and all staff i interacted with were courteous and well mannered individuals! Will never hesitate to return to this location... If needed

Dominique Rankin

Wouldn't even rate this hospital 1 star! Went in for migraine and shoulder & back pain mind you I'm 12 weeks pregnant. Horrible dr came asked me what was wrong that's it. Nurse came and said sign this paper for non emergency and that I could get dressed and go home. Very unhappy with how this hospital is ran. Will be making a report. That is not how you treat patients PERIOD! DO NOT GO HERE.

Zevan Vanderbilt

If I could give a lower score I would. Literally the worst hospital I've had to visit. Couldn't take my insurance back in 2011 because the "system was down" so I paid out of pocket the maximum co-pay. Then my insurance paid the bill and reimbursed me for my co-pay. Despite all of that the hospital is still harassing me for the bill. It's been paid for 4 years now, and I can't seem to get them to understand. Let alone that the staff was rude, and the facility was in terrible shape. I wouldn't have gone here if it weren't for me being from out of town, and needing emergency attention on a holiday. A holiday that was supposedly the reason for the "system being down".

Jon Guidone

What kind of ass-backwards place is this? I went in for some basic stitches on my leg, knowing it was going to cost me an arm and a leg after the fact. I got a bill for $665.00 I called and settled for around $560 with out even putting up a fight, the girl simply offered me to pay less if I just paid it now. Now over a MONTH LATER I get a bill from collections where St. Lukes sold a debt to a collections agency for over $900! Since getting the letter I've spent over an hour on the phone and "deflected" twice where a manager will call me after reviewing the account. This kind of poor financial management on their part is extremely destructive for a college student who was being responsible and paid the bill out right. This needs to be fixed NOW.

Tristan Carson

All I can say is Dr. Kate Farrell needs a raise and she should be sent to every hospital in this country to teach bedside manner. Also I wish she could be my primary care physician. I have a chronic illness so I have had my fair share of ER visits. You can tell that helping people is her passion. She picked up on something that me and multiple Doctors have tried to figure out by listening to me and using her knowledge. I will be using this ER for the rest of my life. Thank you so much for being a caring and knowledgeable physician! PS I am a patient that loves nurses and your nursing staff is amazing as well. You never know what people are going through, and the care I received brightened my day. Thank you so very much!

Logan Borca

Stay as far away from this place as possible unless you absolutely have to come here (way better options throughout the valley) Dr. Robert Hepburn walked in and you could tell he didn't know the heck to do so he made me leave. I immediately go see my go to doctor now that he was on the clock and was treated right away and they found out the problem asap. I recommend seeing Dr. Reyes at any of his locations and yes that clearly means he doesn't work at this hell hole St. Luke's in Tempe

who you

I just had my son there last friday and i have to say the birthing suites there are nicer than banner and we had our presonal room with 2 beds and the nurse and staff were really nice best birth experince of my life defiantly will be going back there with baby number 3

Justin Kelly

I1 STAR BECAUSE I HAVE TO. NEVER GO TO TEMPE ST. LUKES. THEY TRULY DON'T CARE FOR BEST INTEREST. I WAS BASICALLY TOLD I JUST HAVE A SPRAIN IN MY LOWER BACK WHEN I KNOW 97% BASED ON MY SAME VISIT TWO YEARS TO THE SAME HOSPITAL THAT I HAVE A HERNIATED SLIPPED DISC IN LOWER L4 AREA. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME A X-RAY WHICH IS THE MAIN REASON I WENT BACK TO SEE A DOCTOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. TOLD ME WHEN I ASKED AGAIN THAT I JUST NEED PHYSICAL THERAPY (WHICH IS SLIGHTLY TRUE) BUT IGNORED MY INJURY AND POSSIBLY FALSE DIAGNOSED MY CONDITION. I SAT IN A PATIENT ROOM FOR 3+ HOURS, FOR A VICODIN! WHEN I ALREADY HAVE THAT AT HOME AND IT DOESN'T DO MUCH. IN FACT I CALLED IT A MASK AND THE NURSE GOT VERY SHORT WITH ME. LAST VISIT TO THERE WONDERFUL HOSPITAL IT WAS MORPHINE!!(WHICH I WAS IN MUCH MORE PAIN AT THE TIME BUT STILL). NO BLANKET OFFERED IN A COLD ROOM. WAS TOLD MORE ABOUT MY HEALTHY KIDNEYS THEN MY HERNIATED DISC(WHICH WAS MY ORIGINAL REASON FOR TODAYS LOVELY VISIT. THEN TO TOP IT OFF AFTER SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE I WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A DOCTOR'S NOTE TO EXCUSE THE NEXT FEW DAYS OFF AND THEY CONVENIENTLY "FORGOT" TO GIVE ME ONE. SO WALKING OUT STILL SOMEWHAT DISCOMFORT I HAD WALK BACK INTO THE BEST FRONT DESK ASSISTANTS(TOTALLY BEING SARCASTIC) AND ASK THEM IF I COULD SEE MY AWESOME NURSE

Bhetti Blaque

Took my son to the ER yesterday. The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because of two WONDERFUL nurses. One by the name of Katie I believe and can't remember the other one's name but he was awesome as well. Dr. Hinson on the other hand was rude, insensitive, and offensive. Making comments about my son's hair like it's any of his business. I also witnessed a man bleed significantly in the ER waiting room while I went to check on my daughter who wasn't allowed to go back. He was ignored and told to wait as he bled all over the floor. Nobody did anything until several people, my family included, complained that he needed prompt assistance. Will not be return.

jay

my sister had gastritis and they tried giving her MORPHINE

Abbie Lee Olson

Very quick professional service...

michael gomez

This hospital killed my sister in law and these are the words that came from the ambulance lady if I tell my story about this place it would take me all night to explain just remember this place kills ppl not help them

Todd Barker

Had a great experience at the hospital. It was updated, very clean and impressed with all the staff. My Father had a totally knee replacement performed by Dr. Mike Sumko and I can say he is the best Surgeon out there! We drove all the way from California and he was he was sleeping in his own bed the next night! We will be back in a few months to get the other knee done! Highly recommend Dr. Sumko and his entire staff at St Luke’s!

I have been having side pain with nausea and vomiting, we on the ER two times. 1st time everyone was nice and care was great although he was unsure what was happening. After I left I got the meds the doctor gave me, yet over night I the chills and a fever. I felt worse. So I went back as instructed. The Dr made the woman next to me cry basically tell her she was full of it and he let me sit there for hours throwing up and in pain then told me I didn’t need medical help. If you get Dr Hinson ask for someone else. Still can keep food down and have had a fever since I left.

Went here with an appendicitis. Boy, that was my first mistake. The procedure didn't happen until the next day due to incompetent doctors who took unnecessary time. Afterwards, the nurses kept me over for three unnecessary additional days, despite my well-being and fast recovery. This place was absolutely miserable and I felt like I might actually just die there from the hospital's refusal to release me. If you can take the time to go to another hospital, please PLEASE do.

I just had an emergency csection here and I can't get over how wonderful the staff and nurses were. I changed my mind last minute about where I was delivering and if I happen to have another baby I will definitely be here. They were wonderful.

It's really crazy how many 1 stars this place has & it's for a good reason. I live across the street from St. Luke's so if I ever have a medial emergency that's where I have to go & since my last visit I'm extremely hesitant. My visit wasn't really an emergency, at all. In about 10 hours from when I came in it could've turned to a slight emergency. I go to a clinic 3 times a week to pick up a very strong opiate. I missed one day due to transportation issues, I made it to the clinic but they had shut down the medication pumps. The director asked if I lived near a hospital & told me I could get my mediation for that day only if I went into a hospital with the paper he typed up for me. I get there, my blood pressure was higher than it's ever been. The triage lady was super nice, but she got my hopes up. I asked her if she thinks they'll be able to help me & she said yes, they just didn't have my exact brand of the medicine so she doesn't know what they'll give me in it's place. The doctor finally comes in & tells me there's nothing he can (wants) to do. He tells me he can give me IV medication of some drug combo that'll help with the medication withdrawal. I told him all about how I have been dosed@ hospitals before that he's just being a jerk. He didn't want to help me @ all because he knew I would get my medicine the next day when I went in to my clinic. I had to beg this guy to give me a benzo (lorazepam) to help with the anxiousness & restlessness. When I went Into my clinic the director flipped out mad they wouldn't help me. I guess there's specific protocol hospitals are supposed to follow. Like if you have surgery @ the hospital & can't make it into your clinic the ER contacts the clinic just to verify everything then it's given. I suffered from a psuedoaneurysm not too long ago, worst pain in my life & I've given birth natural no epidural or pain meds. If I have another one, you are the hospital I'll have to go to, and that terrifies me with all of the 1 star reviews I've just read & the 1 star experience I had.

If i could only give a negative five star rating I had gotten a sliver of metal stuck in my eye sat in the E.R. waiting room for over two hours with one other person in line before me when I finally saw a "Doctor" For all of five minutes he told me there was nothing he can do i would have to wait for the metal to rust out then the gave me a $1,200.00 Bill do not waste your time going to tempe st lukes

I would stay as far away as possible from this place. You go there. They take you Insurance, In this case, ACCHHS (SP) and then bill you. You tell them several times, and they don't do a thing. Then they sue you. Their lawyers are more crooked then they are. They serve papers to a 13 year old. and lie. So you never get your say in court. Then you get your wages garnished. What can you do? Single mom, making less than 25K a year, and losing 23% of your income is what? They probably got paid by the state too. Fine Christian Hospital. Fine.

This place is ran like a county hospital no one knows what there suppose to do and some RN don't even know how to start an IV. I was I serious stomach pain and they didn't do anything besides one nurse in ER she made sure I was comfortable but after her night shift it was back to b's. They started talking about my EKG and basically made my stomach a minor issue and I told them what the problem was. After the ruled out my chest which wasent a problem now they decide they weren't going to transfer me to the other facility for the Heart. Transfer people never showed up anyways I had to tell them I'm going to another Hospital to get help because there moving very slow with no communication. They moved me finally to a room and here we go again nothing was communicated one RN asked me why I was there. No test was scheduled for me no GI doctor never talked to him but I bet I will get charged for that. Doctor on the floor talked to me about a minute that will be a big charge also. I told them my room is hot and the nurse told the other nurse I assume the charge nurse.Nurse came back and told me I dealt with it this long why do anything also the Nurse told me they are racists at this facility and yes I am Black. I will never come to this hospital again and will dispute my hospital bill.

This place is horrible, don’t ever go here it’s a fraud. The staff seemed clueless about my symptoms.

When I was arrested, i was taken to this hospital by Tempe Police and was cuffed to a hospital bed starfish style by my wrists and ankles. Then someone(Im guessing a nurse)pulled my pants down while an officer held me and the "nurse" jammed a catheter as far down as they could until I pleaded for them to stop. I was then dragged out by said police without any further "treatment" or "care." This place is a medeival quackery and an accessory to police brutality and torture.

"I just want to say a BIG thank you to Dr. Manisha purohit, and the entire OBGYN staff, for all of your attention and support during my pregnancy. Dr. Manisha purohit and her team have been nothing but helpful, very attentive and very careful with me and my child. The entire staff is truly caring and knowledgeable. If I have any questions or issues, they are always responsive and reassuring. Special thanks to Layla for providing free classes on child birth education. Thank you all so much!!!"

This was the worst experience in an ER I have ever seen in my life! I brought my daughter in for a back injury in extreme pain and they did nothing for an hour while she laid there crying in pain!! After hours of this when she was finally discharged her nurse left her prescriptions and discharge papers sit on a table while my son and I helped her in a wheel chair because ONE other patient needed his help. After standing and waiting another nurse came up and grabbed her papers but couldn’t read her discharge papers to us because, well, she didn’t have her glasses!! I then wheeled my daughter out to my car where my son and I had to help her in the car. No care for my daughter or us at all. Oh and a side note, the front desk needed a paper filled out about her insurance and gave me papers with a different patients information. What kind of hospital is this??? DONT EVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. Poor care no care for their patients and no care for there own paperwork!! The computers were too slow for shift change employees to sign in so we had to wait!! Never ever again and if you need help, find another hospital because you won’t get it here.

We were there on Jan 3rd Only Gripe I have was going in at the ER, and leaving. In the ER the nurse was wonderful. Kathy had broken 2 bones in her Ankle and Crushed one and Dislocated it. Dr Vanderhoof said it was the worst he had ever seen. Took 2 hours to get her pain meds becasue the Dr had to prescribe. Kathy was laving there shaking fighting back tears because she was in so much pain. Treatment was ok, Surgeons were wonderful. Then when we were to be released, the guy who was getting the paperwork ready promised he would be back before 5. Never showed back up. I finally went found a guy walking through and ripped him. He did help us get out. Had something to do with Meds being called in to the Pharmacy or something. Then the Nurse said she was going to get a Wheel Chair when we finally got discharged, and she went home. Caring about Kathy was not high on the list. Or even remembering they mmade a prmoise!

I had surgery on June 12 2019. I have too say that the start of my experience there started ok with the staff that checks you in and gets you prepared for the procedure was great. I had a surgery on my nose and sinus cavity I have severe sleep apnea and a heart condition and is diabetic that required me to stay for 24hrs all that was listed in my paper work or medical history with the medication list that I am on . My surgery was completed and the care for recovery went down the nurses have no clue of what they are doing once in my room my oxygen level was very low. My 2 teenage kids were in the room with me and the nurse told them too watch the machine and to come get her if it went below 86 it went done to low 70 daughter went and got nurse she hooked my up to oxygen with a special mask that sits on around neck and chin since I was not able use my nose. There was several different nurses in and out of room and each one of them did something set something up and then the next nurse that would walk into room would undo it respiratory came in and set up a humidifier and a nurse turned it off. One took my mask off and said I should be fine my oxygen fell low again so nurse comes in and puts mask on but shoves it on my nose I yell in pain and tell her it doesn't go over the nose.my nose starts to bleed she leaves the room my kids freak out because she not only does that to my nose she was adjusting my IV bag and had it in her hand as she talked away. My kids did not want to leave me there in the care of the staff. Two nurses came into room to check and change bandage one was the one thatshived mask onto my nose she says to the other nurse I dont know its bleeding like this my daughter says it's because you shoved the mask on her face instead of the chin. She didn't say anything just left the room.i had ice packs on my legs that had melted and leaked all in the bed the nurse kept checking my legs for some reason I dont know but would pick up the melted bags and would place them back done saw my bed was soaked but it was my daughter that asked if they can change the sheets. Nurse came in and changed sheets and put padding down and tells me this should absorb the next time I have an accident my daughter tells her no it was the ice bags that you took that leaked she said I dont remember taking any out of the bed. About 4 hours go by and they nurse informs me that I have missed the kitchen for dinner so I was not able to eat now I haven't eaten anything after 8 PM the night before following preop instructions and surgery was done at 3 and at this time its 9 PM I haven't eaten for 24 hours and I am diabetic started to feel nauseous and my daughter said i need something too eat nurse says well she has no restriction you can go and get her something my daughter tell nurse that's not what the doctor told her when he talked to her after the surgery. Nurse said that she will check to see what to do. My kids had to leave at this time. It was about 4 am the nurse came in with apple sauce for me to eat I ate it fell asleep it was 6 or 7 am they came in and checked vitals and drew blood my sugars were high they insisted on giving me a shot of insulin which I am not on I told them it was high because I had apple sauce and that I am on metformin they said they dont have that in my medication history. I told them they have to because I filled it out and registration went over the list me and it was on there. They never gave me my metformin. They gave me a few of the other one including aspirin which I was told to stop taking a week before sugery and not to take it for week after because of surgery but they gave it to me. Few hours later a doctor came in and released me and I couldn't wait to leave. I would never want to go to this hospital or recommend it to anyone. Room was dirty had sun flower seed shell in chairs and on floor from previous patients bathroom was gross the toilet had urine on back of seat I had to ask nurse to clean it so I can use it she did and without gloves and did not was her hands and went and fixed my pillows .
