This Hospital is included in the category of Veterans hospital.
Excellent facility they take great care of you. No wait times
Dr. N. Bhalla and her staff are amazing. I have received outstanding health care from the Southeast VA Health Care Clinic and I appreciate their positive attitude.
Anytime I have to go to the VA is a dreaded day. The main hospital is horrendous and the southeast clinic is getting the same way. The eligibility manager makes you feel unimportant and would rather turn you away then help you. All the front staff would rather tap tap away on the computer then help. When they finally look up they point you to someone else instead of answering your questions. Only plus side is I dont have to drive an hour to get told what I already know...
As soon as we arrived, I was impressed... Several little " jitneys" to pick up at the car & deliver to the door. Dad was greeted and everyone thanked him for his service. This was his 1st visit...at 91, he wasn't too adept at the computer check in, so a volunteer helped him, and directed him to his appointment. There was no wait, they were absolutely on time! The nurse and doctor spent 1 hour taking his medical history and examining him, and a social worker explained what he needed to do to get the help he wanted. The longest wait was getting his ID card! Not a bad wait at lunch time! Again, everyone thanked him for his service and was very nice and cheerful. A very good experience for a WW II Marine who served from Guadalcanal through the South Pacific to MacArthur's landing in the Philippines.
I usually go to the Phoenix VA for my healthcare, but since I am currently staying in Gilbert I figured I'd try this clinic. After waiting three hours, I was told I cannot be helped since they do not have a women's clinic. They couldn't write a prescriptions for antibiotics and suggest I leave and go to the Phoenix VA. I only then realized, I was the only female veteran in the clinic. If you are female, do not waste your time, you will be turned away.
There is no option on their phone menu to speak to a human being--they don't apparently want us to bother them. My PACT provider has change twice this year and am trying to get an appointment. This is impossible.
I generally get good care here. Sometimes it is very difficult to get through by telephone. The entire VA telephone system is antiquated. Unless you know the extension numbers for the department you are trying to get, you can find yourself in a miserable loop, listening to message after message, getting patched to another number, then getting anything other than a voice mail box is a hassles. But that's part of our benefits.
This Southeast Clinic and Dr Davis is the worst I have seen in the US. Dr Davis didn’t sow up for her work day on the day of my much needed first appointment for primary care. They knew I had been having 10 to 15 bouts of diarrhea daily for 6 weeks and that I have lymphocytic colitis which is quickly treated once a Gastro doctor prescribes the meds. Well, after waiting weeks with these symptoms Dr Davis cancelled my appt so she could take Friday before Super Bowl off. Then her office told me I’d have to suffer and wait another 2 weeks to see a primary care doctor and that there was nothing they could do about it. This is the epidemy of everything wrong with VA medical treatment. Southeast Clinic and Dr Davis are the worst of the entire AZ state. Do not depend on this clinic to help you unless it fits with what’s most convenient for them. Do not use this Clinic if you have anything physically wrong with you. You will regret using this Clinic sooner or later. Heed the warning of a veteran who was treated like gutter scum by this Clinic and Dr Davis.
These People are Excellent Awesome! Great! They take Very Good Care 4 All Veteran's! They take great care for me and what I've been through! I want to say Thank You 4 the Veterans Affair! I love those people!need VA take very Good Care me!
This Clinic outpost freak out when you show up as a walk-in and they lack respect towards you because you walked into the clinic for treatment. I was turned away several times because I came in as a walk-in and was told by staff that I needed an approval prior to doing a walk-in for treatment. Seriously? I am not feeling well and I just wanted to get seen to receive med's. So, I was turned down, I walked away, and went out in town paid out of pocket for the medical expenses.
This is a great clinic to get your blood drawn. Hardly ever have to wait.
Started out good and is now becoming another version of the old Phoenix VA. Take my 90 years old father-in-law in for appointments that were scheduled by the VA and the snotty staff at the desk claim he wasn't in the computer. A return trip 3 weeks later for the same appointment, also scheduled by the VA, and once again they claim he wasn't in the computer. Asked to speak to the manager and she claimed not to know the main Clinical Pharmacy Specialist who has been at the Gilbert VA center since it opened. More wasted tax dollars on useless individuals who act like you are a bother to them and probably their facebook and chat time. Finally got squeezed in and the back staff were great, it's getting past the millenial gate guards that drive you to distraction.
Found the best PCP!
I went to Dr. Simon twice. I was informed he left which is fine. I didn't like him anyway. Now I have no psychiatrist and no refills on my medicine. Finally, after calling White House 24 hour helpline I have a psych appointment but in the meantime no medicine.
Treated every time with an appointment, treated poorly with long wait times of a few hours or more without. Not perfect, but certainly not much if anything to complain about.
This is the worst medical care I have ever seen here, and I have been in the VA system for over 6 years. The care here is criminally bad. Go anywhere but here for care. The audiology department is fine, they do good there. The medical side deserves zero stars
Cant believe VA does not have National Data Base for all Veterans. Please change your walk in audio for cleaning only. Smile once in a while.
Great
Country Club Atmosphere For Employees! Hours of operation are from 0800-1600hrs. I arrived at 1445hrs only to find out that the only worker at Patient Registration/Eligibility on duty bailed out at 1430hrs and the other 2 assigned workers were no-shows that day. No other employees were available to help. This is the 2nd time I have sought services only to find out no staff were available having bailed out early. As much as I try to support and defend the VA, occurrences by irresponsible staff make it extremely difficult. Supervisors need to do their job and keep staff ON THE JOB during business hours!
Feel very fortunate to have a Clinic and Staff like this one.
Last time I came here I received an incorrect treatment for an infection. Was scared to come back, because of their lack of knowledge of the treatment. 1 year later finally decided to come back for the same treatment and they denied me any form medication. Problem is still not resolved after a year.
Can't seem to get anyone to answer the phone.
I checked in and got my lab work done in 5 minutes. Fast, efficient and friendly!
Great service, everyone has been helpful and respectful.
Awesome experience with world class Nursing staff.
I've never had a problem here. All the doctors are great
This place has been great, wonderful people. I had a massive stroke/seizure and the follow-up care has been perfect. 8^}
We were happy when this clinic opened. My husband has had the same provider for years. Sometimes there is a wait, but you get that in the private sector also. Everyone there has been pleasant and professional.
5 Star Service
I was trying to do a walk in. None available at this location.
Hope you dont have a job or dont mind running to Phoenix if you need to drop stuff off at the lab. Pretty ridiculous that because im employed and cant miss work i have to forego treatment because they wanna close the lab at 230
Are you kidding me right now VA? What an absolutely incredible 1st visit to your new fantastic facility & to meet my new healthcare team! Wow! A clean & gorgeous building, with a kind & helpful staff, made navigation a snap. I can hardly believe my energetic & encouraging nurse-doc Heather, is holistic too! Such a blissing...I even signed up to MOVE and eat better, plus a couple of others tests I have been dreading, because she motivated me SO completely! The whole experience was unexpectedly amazing. I actually feel more confident at being proactive with my health, now that I have the VA SW Clinic & Team Heather as tools, to help me manage my wellness! Thanks sooo much everyone!!!
Visited first time 2 days ago from out of state. Registered quickly and escorted to audiology dept. Taken almost immediately. Appointment for new hearing aid made at once. Very impressed with prompt service and help from staff.
They took care of me that day
I went yesterday to see if i could get the Dr to get me a pain management appointment set up . I walked in after spending 45 minutes in a never ending loop on the phone tree ( Press #1 for ...) I got there at 1500 hours , I informed the reception guy of who i was and why i was there . I then waited for another 45 minutes in the lobby I was joined by another vet who was in pain. we were then Shuffled over to another clinic ( down the hall ) for Triage, we were left there in the lobby and told to wait for some one . After a while i a guy walked out and saw all 6 of us sitting there and asked why we were there . then we were shuffled to yet another clinica while there and a Nurse comes running around the corner to tell me The Dr WILL NOT see you today ! now it is close to 1700 And I am to the point of being LIVID . my pain scale with my back is about a 9 and i can hardly move .So I went home and did the best i could . I got a call from the Drs head nurse the next Day and was told she never heard I was out there and she had informed the Dr months ago i needed help with my pain .Funny thing about it ,I have sent my records from the surgeon ( civilian ) about the need for surgery on my back . yet this dr Pupalla says nothing can be done
Very little help for medical procedures...thank God for mental health department..they keep me sane.
The care is good and short waiting time
Great service large facility
My husband goes to this clinic. After waiting nearly an hour for a 20 word referral letter from his PCP, not only was his first and middle name spelled completely wrong, the letter had multiple grammatical errors with no real reference to him specifically outside of an extremely generalized statement. Completely unbelieveable.
This VA Clinic is very nice. They take good care of me!!! And they follow up with there patients.
When services were at William field yes they were crowded. Today a patient like myself would rather go back to functionally old then tragically incompetent hidden behind a gleaming facade. This year marks a turning point no longer will I subject myself to physical, mental abuse while in their care. I chose to use Tricare and skip medicad intirely while living aboard. Phoenix's Southeast Veteran's Clinic well all I can say is their staffed by Administrator useless in responsibly directing and leading their people or themselves.
Doctor Patrick is trash. She would rather argue with her patients than fill diabetic prescription. If you support Veterans you dont support the Veterans Affairs.
Excellent care and concern.
I enjoyed the programs here and the staff are friendly and helpful. But very hard to reach someone to make an appointment.
Given the quantity of Vets that go thru this system, I think they do a good JOB. Normally see me on time and have adequate/reasonable suggestions to improve my health. Usually expect me to be responsible for my appointments and health. I feel they are an additional resource, not the final answer.
I've never had to wait for help from admin or one of the customer service volunteers. The facility is very modern and I'm so glad my g.p. Is here now instead of Phoenix because it's much smaller and it doesn't take me a half hour to walk from the entrance to my doctor's office.
Staff is excellent. Always pleasant.
This place has always been bad but now its just terrible. The new provider I got was no help and the others on her staff act like you are bothering them. Having the VA in charge of my medical care is dangerous. They don't care if we are sick they just want us to leave them alone.
Large facility, went on a Saturday. Cool it was open, not busy. Decent parking and friendly staff. I'd come here again.
I have never had a bad experience at this facility since it's been open. Today I was called back in by the nurse 10 minutes before my appointment time when the vitals were done and prep questions were asked. My PCP Kenneth Smith came in right at my appointment time. Both were caring and were eager to answer any questions I had. I left there impressed with the service I received.
It's been a great experience everytime I go much better than 7th Street
Just check in last month but so far they have been great. Everyone was very helpful at this clinic.
Good clinic's nice folks and lot's pf parking
They just do it right. THANK YOU Southeast Veterans Affairs Health Care Clinic!!
Quick and helpful staff
Dr. N. Bhalla and her staff are amazing. I have received outstanding health care from the Southeast VA Health Care Clinic and I appreciate their positive attitude.
The Best
So far this place is not doing so well for me in regards to access to care. Website says 9 days for mental health appointments for new patients. Mine is 2.5 months from now. I'm a cat1 patient with recorded difficulties. That is not good access to care. Primary appointment is a couple weeks out which is better but I need both.
Gilbert VAMC much better than Phoenix!
I came here for a last minute physical that was required for school. They gave me a provider and set me up with an appointment right in time. These people aren't as busy and really provide care as well as understanding. First experience here was worth the 5 stars. I hope they keep it up.
Excellent doctors and staff. Always phenomenal care. Laboratory is awesome.
, effective and a great support and treatment system for veterans.
Excellent !!! my husband says.
This place has an amazing atmosphere. I'm only 29 but I was greeted in the parking lot by an older man in a golf cart, he then drove me to the front door!
Horrible staff. Uneducated "doctors" (one told me that Aspergers cannot be diagnosed in adults, only children), CNA's who check their phone constantly during office visits, doctors and nurses with surly attitudes, staff that refuse to help get needed DME, dental department has no clue, they don't listen to patients concerns re pain, a hot mess overall. Impossible to fire incompetent people here, let alone find anyone to register complaints with. If the staff doesn't "like" you, you WILL be abused and neglected.
Half of the lines just ring without answer.
This is by far the best VA hospital that I've been to. They were able to register me quick and get me seen by a nurse. Very nice and clean facility everyone was kind and respectful.
Pact team staff is rude and inconsiderate. PCP treats the patient as if they are an inconvenience to their time . Pcp likes to interrupt you when you are talking. I emailed my care team about a emergency room visit on July 1. The nurse responded to my secure message confirming i had suffered rhabdomyolysis as a result to acute dehydration. When i went to see my pcp on july5 her first statement to me was “what can i do for you today” I’m thinking did you not read any of your notes or did you speak to the nurse that took my vitals . I told my pcp i had a er visit for acute dehydration and I’d like you to view my labs. Her response “what do you want me to do with them” . I said i think you are the medical professional shouldn’t you come up with an after care plan since i suffered an almost life threatening event . At no point did the primary care physician so any interest in my health .
My husband has called Va several times for a new CP mask and Walker that broke and hasn't got a response back. Very poor care of Veterans!!!!!!!
Always a pleasure when I have to see my doctor, friendly helpful staff.
They cancel my appointments?
The atmosphere is completely different than it was at Williams airfield. But it has a lot of the same staff which is great! The building is still smells like new paint. All in all they do a great job!
This clinic is a step up compared to phoenix.
My husband came in with chest pain and had been puking for 48 hrs, can't keep any thing down and the Dr told him to take otc stomach meds and drink Gatorade.... really he can't keep anything down, is very dehydrated and they didn't do anything to help him.... all the VAs are a joke
great facility :-) :-) :-)
Never busy, quick appointment and good customer service. Clean environment, friendly staff, just need to be full service with all the clinics instead of having to go downtown.
I used to take my grandfather's hearing aids here, but after the tech told me it was none of my business what her name and last name were, (her name is Eva Chavez) I would much rather drive to Phoenix instead of dealing with her. Jamie Cooly did not have a problem giving me his name. Gilbert Audiology, front desk is slow, tech is rude and sophomoric! Get rid of her.
Very Nice Clinic !! Staff and Volunteers are Wonderful !! My husband is Retired Navy and they took Good Care of Him
Great medical services for Veterans, great people dedicated to our men and women who served this Country.
Great care my only problem is getting them to submit my deductible to my supplamental insurance. Have been trying for months. Anybody got an answer?
No better than the Phoenix VA. If you have an appointment your fine, do not try to walk in. I sat there for 5 hrs and was not seen. Tried to speak a manager and told there were none there. WORST EXPERIENCE AND A WASTE OF TIME. How do welfare recipients get better care than I do?
Dr. Wheeler and the nursing staff are world-class. The facility is super clean and the staff are very welcoming. As soon as I parked, a man in a golf cart pulled up and politely asked if I would need a ride to the entrance. I politely declined and he asked if I needed in guidance. I was impressed at this point. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by what looked like a volunteer. She pointed me in the right direction. When I arrived to check-in I was delighted that there was an electronic kiosk. I quickly checked in a sat down. There were plenty of comfortable chairs available. During my appointment, Dr. Wheeler address my concerns with care and seemed very genuine. Hands down it was one of the best experiences I've had at a medical facility. Since I am a retiree, I initially was going to continue using my Tricare insured provider at Banner. After my amazing visit at the Gilbert CBOC I have decided to continue using it for all my medical needs. The VA has come a long way and I'm happy to be a patient of theirs.
This is an outstanding facility with wonderful people. I have had nothing but great experiences at the Gilbert center. They are prompt and remind you multiple times of any upcoming appointments you have. I’ve never had to wait and usually get in early. The service is fast and streamlined and yet somehow it’s never crowded. The only thing missing at this location is a pharmacy. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. I would give them 10 stars if that was an option.
Since they opened I have been going to this facility. Kumar doesn't seem to have any real concern for your mental health and I have been waiting for an appointment with McKee since I met him (again, when the facility opened)... since then, I have been out of pain meds and calling my PACT Team constantly, which is proving to be useless.
Located in the part of the valley where I am seeking housing...full facility support for all aspects of my care without travelling into Phoenix uptown
Absolutely disgraceful My wife is my stepfathers caregiver and when she tried to explain what has been happening with him Dr Patel treated her with total disrespect. I would recommend you take your sick veterans to any other Dr.
Nice Facility and Atmosphere
New building,it should be clean, its New!!!!
Love ya VA!
