Do not EVER go here for your comp and pension. 1 person saw me in one sitting for 3 claims, put in 1 and said i canceled for the other two. when in for a nuero claim and the examiner would ask the question. do you ever leave work because of your migraines. answer yes I try to work from home when they occur so i can sit in a mostly dark room or rest when i need. doctors response. now do you work from home because you just dont like being at work or because you have migraines. screw then 10 years of documented migraines i must be lying YES! the whole claim went that way. save your self some time and just see a civilian that wont try to piss you off.

At the VA right now. They're slow but they are doing their job. There's so many veterans that need help and they are trying to help each one but they can only do so much because they are understaffed. The Government need to hire and train more individuals who are willing to serve. I personally am grateful that they even exist.

The quality and care at this hospital is worse than banner health. My primary care physician Patel at the thunderbird clinic asked me if I have diabetes, what you are supposed to be looking at my records!!! Then Patel proceeds to say oh I have the wrong person on my screen. The Phoenix va is probably one of the worst va hospitals I have ever been to. Besides if they were so good why are they always on the news for being in trouble for malpractice and such? That is a question for all of you that go there religiously.

Phoenix VA has improved and the staff does try to help save us old guys and gals, often from a lifetime of bad habits. BUT, there are NO magic pills, and we all are lab rats. Yes, we were once lab rats as enlistees and draftees, and now 50, 60, 70 years later we are still basically lab rats for big pharma. The staff does try and the squeaky wheel rule does apply. If you want more attention (and do we really deserve it?) for our pains, we must speak up. I hope this does help

I have never had an issue here. The staff is friendly and doctors do their best with resources provided. Some areas the wait is longer than usual but not that bad. Bring a good book and be patient.

Tonight I had to go into the emergency room for my service connected back pain. Since I had just moved to the area, I was worried about what to expect with the check in experience. I was registered with ease by a really polite staff member working a busy ER evening by herself. And in just under 2 & 1/2 hours, I was seen by the nurse, the doctor, treated, had my prescriptions in hand and was out the door. The doctor even went a step ahead to make sure a PCP was requested for me in my doctor's orders for a follow up since I'm new to the Phoenix VA system. For the last 15 years I've been in the Southeast DC VA hospital, and more recently the WEST LA VA hospital system for my care. I have to honestly say that vets here in Phoenix should consider themselves lucky to have a VA that has the quality of service that this one does. It is hands down 5 stars compared to the others I've been unlucky to experience. I know that results can vary, but I also believe it starts with YOU. Remember it's a government run system, these people are doing their best with what they're given, and there's a lot of injured vets out there to care for. So start with a smile even if it hurts, have some patience, be polite and most importantly remember, it's not ALL about you! Cheers.

It care is excellent there. But getting appointment is so slow. Love the idea of seening another doctor outside the district if your appointment is more than 30 days over. Big Improvement. Especially when you're in pain.

Crystal Renee

Every time I am there, there is always a helpful volunteer looking to answer any questions, ensuring no one is lost. This place is filled with so many nice workers, whether it be in a certain clinic , to the pharmacy or the lab.

The staff is friendly and the work has been great.. The only thing that I can complain about is the wait

As a 5c alumni I had a lot to learn, Coach was the best, he helped me through my struggle and daemons. Coach helped me open up and made sure I made my mind right before I went home. Honestly he is an angel from heaven.

Doctors are great parking and everything else is lacking. If you’re not there by 8:30am you will not have parking and this not make your appointment.

SaHayla Griggs

The ER here is no good, there was also an incident with a officer being racist and even though I filed a complaint they never got back with me or did anything about it. As well as the nurses blaming me for not getting appointments and lying to me about making appointments or relating messages. When I actually need a consult for them. The only reason they’re getting any stars is because the mental health care provided is Good. Everything is slow and the care and safety is to whom they consider are priorities.

Would really like to review the Phoenix VA Hospital facility but was not able to find a parking spot. Drove around for over a hour looking for a spot to park with no luck. There were 40+ open spots in their Valet parking but access was closed with a sign stating Valet Parking Full. Once at the department that I needed to go to I had already missed my appointment time and was told that I would have to wait for the walking clinic to open and that would be start in a hour. I am now waiting with several veterans for the walking hours to start This is the worst ran VA system that I have seen and the snowbirds are not here yet. When the snowbirds start showing up in the Phoenix VA system the wait for a walk-in clinic can be in access to four hour and some time you are told to come back to the walk in for the next day. Hope I get in today

I get all my medical care there. I have NEVER had problems getting medical care there.

My gallbladder decided to stop working all of a sudden. Luckily for me I happen to be a Vet because the VA here in Phoenix is top notch. The people who staff this facility are some of the best there are! And that is a fact.

Jesse Serpa

I was seen imediimmedi and treated and work around my schedule. My nurse and doctors are really great.

Dusty Eatman

Best Hospital and Staff hands down. I have had nothing but great care and concern. Love them all and the staff are awesome.

I have been going to this VA for 5 years. I came from St. Louis VA. I have to say the Phoenix VA has much more to offer. The adaptive sports program has been one of the best things that I've experienced. It has gotten me out of my lazy chair to be active and productive. Rec therapy is also a great program. There are so many things out there like Golden Age Games, sports clinics, and Valor games, to name a few. Doing these things has made my mental health improve immensely. The mental health Dr. That I have is extremely caring and listens to me. I am grateful for the care I receive from Phoenix VA and sorry for those who don't receive the care they deserve.
