Not consumer friendly. While the employees are all smiley and nice, they are so driven by corporate policy that they forget that medicine is about helping the patient. Today I was in pain. I couldn't get into my primary care. I couldn't get into a specialist without my primary care's referral. So I called the ER and asked if they could do the procedure I needed to relieve my pain. The charge nurse said that it could be done if the doctor recommended it. So I show up at the ER. I was actually impressed that it only took about 75 minutes from arrival to doctor review. But the doctor was worthless. He and the radiologist decided that while they could have done the procedure, they would not take on the liability for the follow-up lab work. It is part of my PCP network. Why in the world couldn't they coordinate with my doctor for the lab work while giving me the relief I needed today? Why? Because it was their stupid policy. Honor Health does not honor patients.

Visiting from out of town for a hockey tournament. I had abdominal pain and took myself to the ER. The staff was courteous, thorough, and very efficient. I have to say the facility is the NICEST I've ever visited. Very clean and modern. Dr. Itty was nice and attentive. The nurses, Chris and Jamie (?) were excellent. The CT Scan team was also very nice. Heck, the CT imaging room was so soothing, I almost zoned out! I was in and out within about 3 hours total. Highly recommended!

This facility is wonderful. It is smaller and more personal plus it has a great cafeteria. My mom had surgery after being diagnosed with cancer and our whole family was by her side for the entire weekend. Her room was large enough to accommodate all of us (including my 2 year old and me being pregnant) plus there is a kid's area with toys and books. They also had wagons, which my son had fun being pulled around in as nana walked and he also slept in it. We were there for a sad reason but it felt like home for 4 days thanks to the staff.

Was there recently for an ambulatory procedure and this place rocks! Everyone was so nice and compassionate. Five stars aren’t enough stars to rate this place. As a healthcare professional, I highly recommend this place. Keep up the great work!!

My husband there for a 3 day stay . From ER to discharge to billing and all the care in between--wow, super care and kind, professional people. The place is clean and spacious rooms. My husband had top of the line care without getting procedures etc he did not need. He did get 3 mris and the tech called in and pleasant/kind/professional. The PT/OT and nurses and staff were awesome--really this place hit it out of the park on every level. Even billing is smooth process. All of this and they have doctors like Dr. Becker of the highest caliber. We have found our hospital! Thankyou to them!

I was most impressed that every person on my care team took time, without me asking, to explain what to expect next. I found this very calming and reassuring. My nurse, Katie, made sure I was comfortable and gave me time frames for tests and procedures. She was great. Also Caroline performed a echocardiogram with great care for my comfort...and Glenn too was awesome. Thank you all most sincerely!

We had a really wonderful experience here. My husband was scheduled for an outpatient surgery and every single person we encountered was very nice and helpful. From the front desk check-in, to registration, and help desk personell, also the nurses, anesthesiologist, and Dr himself were all vety friendly. We had a great experience and I definitely reccomend this place for any outpatient procedures. Big THANK YOU!

Very courteous, caring staff. Was treated promptly and efficiently. Dr. Castro-Marin was very professional, knowledgeable and genuinely concerned with getting me back to health. Highly recommend.

I was in the ER last night. I didn’t have to wait long and everyone was nice. Christopher was a very caring and kind nurse. The doctor sent me home after 2.5 hours. Good ER experience.

How many of you will be ok with waiting 4 + hours & paying the $$$ of an ER visit to see a PA?? Ask yourself that before going to Thompson Peak ER cuz a PA is what you’re gonna get there.

I was hospitalized the end of August 2017. First off I want to say Dr. Aditya Gupta is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He definitely knows what hes doing. I was hospitalized in intensive care at Honor Health he was the only doctor that was able to wake me up out of my coma and get me to breathe again on my own. Following that, I was able to see him again at Arizona Pulmonary Specialists. He really cares about his patients and is excellent at what he does, we need a lot more doctors just like him who listens to his patients. I would recommend him to ANYONE...........Thanks Dr. Gupta I will forever be grateful for you! See you soon for my follow up appointment.

The emergency room physician found my cancer in 2016 & I have since had treatment. Without his thorough testing I would not be here today to write this 5 star review. Thank you Honor Health.

I spent 4 nights at this hospital last week via the ER. I felt the care was top rated and the facilities as good as they can get. Great nursing staff. Only issue was with the head dr called the Hospitalist who seemed to want to take the role of attending physician and seemed to be over stepping her role. She was leaving so that issue is going away. Ive always had good experience with this facility. We in Scottsdale are fortunate to have first class health care.

Professional, polite, helpful, friendly hospital personnel. Of five hospitals that I have dealt with, Thompson Peak is tops.

The service in the ER is incredibly bad. After waiting for over two hours, found out that they only had one ER doctor who is not part of united healthcare network so he would be billing separately and we would have to pay out of pocket. Totally ridiculous and unbelievable that a hospital of that size had no other options. Do not recommend at all!

Surprised at the level of care and attention my mother received compared to the Shea Hospital. I got calls from doctors...never happened at Shea. My mother and the family received a surprising amount of attention and responsiveness from everyone. ...emergency room, nurses, and discharge process. I had given up on customer service from a hospital in the era of Obama care. What pleasant surprise

I walked into the ER and complained of trouble breathing. I was immediately seen and taken to a treatment room. Within 45 minutes blood was drawn, xrays were taken and a ct scan was performed. About an hour later, I was informed that I had 4 fractured ribs, my organs showed no trauma and my lungs were okay...but, I needed to be admitted for further tests because I had enlarged lymph nodes and the doctor suspected lymphoma. I was moved upstairs to a room. I was left in the room without any counseling or anyone really telling me much. When my wife arrived with our son at 7:00 pm that night, there was no one to really explain anything to us and we were told there was only one doctor on staff. Frightened and without answers, my wife wanted me to just go home. I checked myself out and went home without anyone willing to prescribe medicine for my pain...I still had 4 broken ribs. The next morning I called the ER to ask for some pain medicine to be prescribed. They read my chart but refused to phone in a prescription. So, I still have 4 broken ribs but no pain medicine. And, oh yeah, have the added stress of possibly having lymphoma. Not a great experience.

This is an awful hospital. I was visiting in Scottsdale and my friend took me to the ER on Shea Blvd where I was admitted. Whoever designed and approved this building ought to be fired. The rooms are laid out in pods all facing into a small foyer. Everything that happens in every room can be heard by everyone. Staff does not close the door when they visit the patient so everyone hears your issues in direct conflict with HIPPAA laws. If someone is watching a ballgame, we all had to listen to it. The nurse's stations are not enclosed so any conversation that goes on out there carries into the rooms. All around the halls and elevators are signs about being quiet and providing patients with peace but the staff hasn't gotten the message. I often had to ask for something twice before I got it. I was into my third shift nurse before I found out I could have pain meds even though it was obvious I was in pain. I ordered three meals while there. The first one didn't show up and the second one was wrong. They figured it out by the third one. I was told I could go home on a certain day but at 2:30 p.m. the nurse said I couldn't because I hadn't eaten or pooped. Could they have told me that sooner? I wound up staying an extra day to eat and poop. I was supposed to get an injection to ward off blood clots. Two of the four days I was there I did not get them. Go to an animal hospital before you go to this place.

Absolutely best hospital visit ever. The staff is amazing. Best bed side manner I've ever experienced. Dr's were thorough with explaining everything going on. Great food from cafeteria. A super clean campus. Loved my private room. I will never go to any other hospital. Scottsdale Thompson Peak is the best. Loved loved my experience here !!!!

Horrible service and care. Was seen this morning. Whoever the doctor we saw seemed to be quite confused. Doctor told us one thing and at the end of my visit he did another. Staff was more concerned with talking amongst themselves then caring for patients. The male Nurse was rude. No one was literally in the ER, and service was still terrible and slow. I don’t feel I received the treatment I paid for or deserved. . I feel I was pushed out before showing any results of getting better. I was only in for an hour. Being seen for influenza. Was extremely dehydrated and wasn’t even given an IV. I don’t recommend this hospital at all!! Only reason I came again was because it was closest to my house. Otherwise I would definitely Stay away. Scottsdale hospital you need to take a serious look at the care your giving and the employees that work for you. Please beware of this ER

Horrible! They were going to just let my mom die. They said they don’t have the capability of doing ekg and chest pain is not a priority. This hospital is worse then one in a third world country. They train security to open their little glass window if someone gets loud because they know they have horrible service and they are medically negligent. Avoid this place at all costs!

Grigori Rasputin

The Hospital cafeteria has really gone down hill. Rude customer service, expensive and hardly any food available. The staff has had a continuously poor attitude and tone that is not welcoming. I will no longer bring them anymore business. Recommending others to just bring lunch or walk the same distance a bit further north for some really wide selections of food. If I get hurt ... don’t take me to an HonorHealth lol.

William Roscher

I received excellent care and would recommend it for others. As a matter of fact I have to go back for another wound treatment

I had to have emergency surgery on monday. Waited in the ER for a couple hours, but every single staff member i came across were so very friendly and kind. I had to stay over night, all of the nurses, aides, specialists were very thourough and extremely patient with explanation of every step taking place in my procedure. I feel very fortunate to have had the experience i did, for the trauma i was in. Thank you so much everyone i dealt with!

Had hip surgery. The hospital was all very nice people were extremely nice and polite. The surgical staff we're very friendly answered all my questions and get a phenomenal job. The recovery nurses were exceptional and took very good care of me and help me to understand what to do when I go home. If you need any kind of orthopedic surgery this is the place you want to get it done.

I had a black out in the Marriott lobby woke up here being interrogated like a criminal who must have o.d. on drugs till my tox. Screen came back clean then i was hurried out without even getting any food or water in over ten hours, made it to the cafeteria no free food for patient's there either an overpriced Metro Center food court instead....

I was admitted for a gall stone in September. I provided my medical card. Now I'm being billed for the doctor (Itty) who worked with me in the emergency room because they're not covered by my insurance. How is that MY problem? I'd think it was the hospital's job to arrange care and coverage properly. Now, apparently, the only recourse I have is to appeal to Medicare which will not work, because, non PAR service provider. Everyone was so concerned about my comfort and pain when I was there. What about the anxiety of being billed for something that should have been handled properly up front? 12/12/18 update: upgraded to two stars. This was all precipitated by my insurance company and their errors regarding my coverage under a prior policy. I still think the providing facility and insurer should have a better method for resolving these things behind the scenes rather than making someone recovering from surgery go thru the anxiety of feeling defrauded. Simply explaining to me that EVERY emergency room uses contractors and so... sux to be me is not an example of going the extra mile to provide exceptional care.

Richard Groeneveld

PATIENT BEWARE! This is a surprise billing hospital, especially if you have to use their emergency room. They inflate prices and will itemize extended Billings over a four to five month period. You will be asked to pay up front (cash) for a discount (which is not discounted), then you will receive multiple bills that never seem to end. Unfortunately an ER visit catches you at a vulnerable time, but you must demand that they put their charges up front in writing before you receive treatment or you will get screwed.

Veronica Smyth

One satisfied patient here! At first I was hesitated being admitted, but things changed after I ended up here. I didn't expect my experience would that be great! Thank you for taking care of me. Keep it up!

Family member was taken here in an emergency and she was treated amazing for her short stay.

We waited for 2 hours to take for them to tell me they don't ultra sound babies and sent me to the Shea location this is not the first time this hospital disappointed me! Staff are stuck up and all they care about it money!

Took my wife there for back surgery. They took her back to get her ready and then I was supposed to be taken back to see her before the surgery. They FAILED TO TAKE ME BACK to her. I was not privy to papers she signed before surgery either. The nurse that prepped her got and left blood from her iv on the palm and back of her hand (was cleaned by another nurse after surgery). They are NOT a Gold Star Hospital by the Joint Commission of Hospital Accreditation. AND they do not do complicated surgeries at this facility. Wonder why? Stay Away.

Mom elderly mother has been there several times. The experiences in the ER have been great. But in the hospital, it was the worst experience ever. She had been admitted, on one occasion, for hallucinations and paranoia. She was on a medication that, I have been told by several people, including her current neurologist, is known to "make you crazy" if you are not bipolar. Instead of changing her medication, they admitted her to a psychiatric hospital, even though they were given the history to pin it to the medication. On a second occasion, she had had a breakthrough seizure (the reason she was on the medication in the first place). The nurse were never there when she needed to go to the restroom. I was the one putting the bedpan under her. On the day before discharge she had a seizure. I had to ring for the nurse 4 times. Three of the times, they just turned off the call button. In addition, the neurologist changed one of her critical medication dose times without saying a word to me or my mother, which was dangerous. He did not listen to me when I described her mental health. And he was basically a condescending a-hole to both of us. There were a couple of nurses that were pleasant, but the primary day nurse was rude and unresponsive. And lucky for my mom, I was there. Otherwise she would not have gotten any food over the course of days she was there.

The Thompson Peak emergency department was terrible. We were out of state visiting family and got into a car accident. We just wanted to have our daughter looked at because she had whiplash and maybe a mild concussion. There were only 4 people ahead of us in the ER waiting room. We figured this wouldn't be too bad of a wait. We were wrong. After an hour and a half we finally were led to a room. Doctor showed up(not an MD) did the basics told us it was whiplash(duh) and maybe a mild concussion and said she didn't think our daughter needed an MRI but they would do an x-ray if we wanted(why else would we go to the ER). We said we would like an X-ray done. An hour and a half later the doctor came back and said oh you haven't had the X-ray yet. Meanwhile I had been wandering the halls looking for somebody who looked interested in helping us. Couldn't find anyone and there were hardly any patients in any of the rooms. We told the doctor we had waited long enough and we left. So after 3 hours we never got what we had been waiting for. Should have gone to a bigger busier ER I guess

Marykate Greer

This is the only hospital i'm willing to go to because the wait time is nothing compared to places like the shea hospital. Longest ive waited at thompson peak was 30mins. At shea i waited 2-4 hours on average. The doctors here are amazing and super nice. The nurses are as well and the respiratory staff is so friendly it's almost like you know them personally. Only complaint i have is some of the triage and front desk staff are rude as can be. I even had one roll her eyes at me when i said i was having chest pain when i checked in. I'm not sure her name but i wish i knew because she should not have a job in healthcare if shes going to roll her eyes at someone answering her question. Once you're in a bed it does take some time to be actually seen, though if there are no beds the doctors will be kind and pull you into triage to see if they can help you without getting a bed. This was the case last time i came i needed an emergency med refill. I was in and out in one hour. Thank you honor health and thompson peak location for such great experiences

I came to ER around 1 PM yesterday (11/8), and have been admitted to the hospital around 4 PM due to pneumonia. I have not seen a single doctor since I was brought to the room, and it's past noon the following day. Still no sight of doctor. And there were two no-shows when I pushed nurse call button. I'm in the worse shape than the moment I walked in here almost a day ago.

My wife is a patient and I am impressed with the hospital. What is amazing to me is the main phone number only rings ONCE and someone answers my call. This has happened four times and amazes me in this day and age of phone service. Totally impressed just with the phone calls.

What happened to the awesome staff and delivery of care here?!..I used to be 100% confident that when I walked into Thompson peak hospital I was in good hands and would be taken care of. Now they rate about as low as PV Abrazzo in diagnosis, patient delivery, discovery, stabilization and P.OC..... I in part believe this is due to the bundled payments, low reimbursement (resulting in the hospital taking a loss to treat a patient and put patients health, safety, loss of use of limbs or and disease aside and choose to throw them back on the street ...THERE IS A NON DUMPING LAW... ) and partially due to Medicare incentives for "show empathy, don't treat just street them" 2,500 for every admission, 1,500 bonus for every empathy, referral and street..and lastly due to the recent rotation of the ER docs. .now the good ones are gone...(EXCEPT DR DEBARTOLO..IF THAT MANS HANDS WEREN'T TIED BY SUB STANDARD HOSPITAL PRACTICES MEDICARE PENALTIES AND INCENTIVES TO DO THE LEAST POSSIBLE AND SUB STANDARD LEVELS OF CARE HE WOULD HAVE HELPED ME IN A NEW YORK MINUTE. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORTS SIR). I was seen there several times for a very complex shoulder injury that each time I went back was worse...I had been to all of the specialists the ER drs referred me to and they said they didn't know what to do go back to the ER....this has repeatedly happened and to date I still have the same injuries getting worse after over 35,000 later... there's much more to this pathetic story...but THE MESSAGE IS AS CLEAR AS A LOT OF THE OTHER ONES ON HERE..UNLESS YOU HAVE AN INSURANCE POLICY THAT PAYS OUT HIGH REIMBURSEMENTS YOU WILL NOT GET THE SAME CARE AS THE PERSON IN THE NEXT ROOM WITH A HANGNAIL... HONOR HEALTH..YOU GET A DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE (JUST LIKE YOU DO TO US WHO COME TO YOU FOR HELP AND YOU HAVE NO REGARD FOR THE OUTCOME OF US WHO AT ONE POINT TRULY TRUSTED YOUR PROMPT RESPONSIVENESS AND COMMITMENT TO THE PATIENT...I HAVE 3 CLOSING LETTERS FOR YOU VILE RATS...WHERE IS YOUR MORALS, ETHICS AND DUTY TO ACT?.

Worst ER in Arizona. They don't care about any person that comes in. Just wait and shut your mouth. January 15th, 2016 at 1:20 am.

The only good thing about my emergency room visit was that it was relatively quick to get a bed, about an hour. Everything else was pretty much mediocre. I repeatably said that I was in excruciating pain (lower back) and they were not the least bit concerned. I waited for over 3 hours for pain medication when the doctor said she would give me some while I was there. I asked several times and they never gave me anything but a steroid shot that didn't work and that I have had 2 days earlier. I explained my pain was not helped by the weak painkillers I was prescribed by urgent care, all they gave me was a similar just as weak pain medication which I had to go and fill at a pharmacy during rush hour and had to wait an additional two hours and once again the painkiller barely did anything what so ever. The doctor didn't read any of the information I provided when I checked in and I had to repeat everything to every doctor and nurse I saw. I asked my nurse for water 3 times and he never got me any. He was short, was not friendly and had no personality what so ever. I will not be returning to this hospital

Andrew

Horrible experience with the ER. Waited over 1 1/2 hours to be seen. Waiting room had 4 other people in front of me. The whole 1 1/2 hours, no one from the waiting room was shown back to a bed. After asking about the wait, the nurses got "sassy" with me and gave me attitude. I walked out and went to Mayo Clinic who got me in ASAP.

Michelle Walker

Horrible hospital. Older lady was in the waiting room and they refused to help her saying there wasn't a bed available. As she clutched her chest and gasped for air. The younger girl with her pleaded for help and the security stood behind her finally after 15 minutes or so of this the girl took the older lady and put her into a car as she was crying and went in one last time to plead with them to get a bed or to do an ekg but still nothing.

Had to visit this hospital for a quick visit and it was one if the best and most professional experiences I have had. It had all the equipment required it appeared as I walked around and the speed with which they operated was to be commended.

I had surgery here today (04/10/19). Everyone from the valet, volunteers, Administrative staff, and every nurse and doctor was the epitome of professionalism. The facility was beautiful and well appointed, with nice decor, modern amenities, and a comforting atmosphere. A man came through the surgical wing waiting area with a "comfort dog", a sweet Golden Retriever named Addison, who brought a great deal of peace and comfort to me. The registration/check-in process was a breeze, and very high-tech (electronic signatures instead of wet and tons of paper). No matter what, going to the hospital is stressful and scary, but HonorHealth Thompson Peak Medical Center went a long way to reduce those fears. I hope I never have to have another surgery - or not anytime soon - but if I do, you can bet I'm going back to HonorHealth!!

Very good hospital. excellent personnel and great service

Chad Fuller

Went to the ER for the first time in my life yesterday. The wait was 1 star, took about 3 hours before I got in. But that is cancelled out by the care once I was actually in. The staff was extremely kind and helped make the experience less intimidating. I was quickly given a CT scan and had an IV in me (was severely dehydrated). Dr. Pedro was awesome, Steve my nurse was awesome, everything was really positive and I was able to go home with my condition properly diagnosed. They have pre-warmed blankets which are the perfect idea for the cold steel rooms, it gets pretty cold in that gown they give you. Great touch. 10/10 would almost die again

I don't know what's up with all the poor and negative reviews, but those people must have their hospitals mixed up. I would expect reviews like that from Banner Desert or Banner Estrella, or even Maryvale Hospital, but NEVER from Scottsdale Thompson Peak. I have been to and admitted at that hospital more times than I can remember and I have ALWAYS been treated like a King. The receptionist, nurses, doctors and regular staff's expert assistance and caring is far and above ANY other hospital in Phoenix and the surrounding areas. I live way on the west side of Phoenix and I do not hesitate for one minute to make that drive to Thompson Peak when I feel it necessary to do so. From the moment you arrive the staff there make you feel welcome, do whatever it takes to put you in comfort, talk to you like a person, are very courteous and attentive to your questions, and are very fast in getting you seen. Whenever I am at that hospital, I know that I am receiving the best possible medical care that I can get from the most professional and caring staff and personnel I can imagine. Thank you and God bless you Scottsdale Thompson Peak.

Stacy Hamilton

I had surgery there on 5/8/19. Everyone I encountered was so nice and caring. I can't say enough about how nice this facility is too. It doesn't feel like sterile hospital. It is a beautiful building. Hope I don't have to go back anytime soon, but if I do I'm going back to this location.

Between the horrible emergency room that did not do their due diligence before stitching me up and then making me have to go to Wound Car for 5 months. When I get here for wound car at 630 in the morning, all of the wound care spots are taken by their over night employees. I have complained to the front staff multiple times but this still keeps happening.

Matt Garrison

My mom called emergency services and was delivered to Honor health on Thompson peak. After being seen from the doctors they sent her home with instructions to drink a liquid. She's currently in an ER at a different hospital with same symptoms. Just infuriating they didn't take the time to help. Probably didn't care since the insurance charge wasn't high in their eyes. Disgraceful.

Amy Drager

Always amazing care and the best doctors and staff. Highly reccomend.

Amazing experience! I requested the ambulance bring my relative here because of positive feedback from trusted friends who recently utilized this Honor Health location. Every person we came into contact with here was helpful, caring and prompt - the nurses, radiologists, aids, doctor, everyone. Dr. Elliot Cropp was especially intuitive, caring and informative, taking the time to address our questions and concerns without rushing through the conversation. Our relative was admitted and the experience has remained positive throughout her stay. We are grateful!

Melissa Arnold

I came in for a routine procedure, but Dr. Janicek was able to detect and resolve a bigger problem. I had to stay 6 day's. Dr. Janicek is second to none simply wonderful. The RN's who took care of me (Becky, Josie and Nicole) were professional, responsive, and genuine. The food was really good. Dr. Stearns consulted and was able to quickly offer relief and get me home. The experience was the best you could expect Thank you for the excellent care!

Was sent by urgent care doc to get imaging they kept telling me I would be called back in a few mins 2 hours later I left. This is the second bad experience I've had with honor health. First was when I chose them for the delivery of my son. Never again will I waste time and money at a honor health facility.

Ryan Borys

Worst experience and least helpful staff I’ve ever encountered at a hospital. The “doctor” clearly had just crawled out of bed and was obviously irritated she had to do her job. We informed her of the situation and she was adamant there was nothing wrong. After her eyes had adjusted she took a closer look, confirmed there was an infection and then offered no services, didn’t even attempt to help the situation just confirmed there was a bad infection and sent us on our way with $1000 bill. Unless you’re brain is bulging out of your eye sockets I’d avoid this place at all costs. There are far better options close by. On second thought, if your brain is bulging out of your eye sockets I would still avoid this place. After a second opinion the infection was reduced and the foreign objects causing the infection were removed.

Candace Keehen

Went into the ER after a car accident. I am having severe pain in my back, neck, and ankle. I was placed into a room where a nurse ordered x-rays, the x-ray tech came and took me to get a few pictures taken, and then took me back to my room. Approx. an hour later, the nurse came back in and said they didn't see anything wrong, and I was free to go home. I could hardly walk or lift my arms, sitting up was a struggle, and it was painful to breathe. I was never looked at, or even spoken to by a doctor during this visit - and know for a fact that x-rays don't show soft tissue damage. Going to this facility was a complete waste of time, and now I'm headed to a different hospital today because, again - I woke up unable to walk on my ankle, chest pain when breathing, and stabbing back pain.

Thanks for everything I appreciate all the RN for taking care of me

This organization is very professional; efficient; friendly; but most of all top of the line when it comes to orthopedic care. I had a total hip replacement; was in one day and out the next. From the first person (at reception) to discharge everyone, and I mean everyone, had a positive and helpful attitude. We are so lucky in this country to have this kind of health care available to us. The information that they provide you throughout the process is complete and 100% helpful; it is a guide to recovery. One thing we all think about when we go into the hospital is cleanliness. Honor Health is spotless; and everyone is on task to keep it that way. This was a 100% positive surgery for me.

My life was saved here back in September. I stayed overnight for 5 nights and was consistently treated with kindness, sensitivity, and professionalism. My only complaint would be the LPN who oversaw the second floor. My wife had a fit of hysteria over my decaying state and was forcibly removed from the hospital by the LPN at the time. With that in mind still, in a life or death emergency there is no other choice for me. This hospital has the low and mid level staff you can find. Doctor's speak to you as if you are on the same level as they are and there is an overall sense of dedication and drive in the work ethic of those employed. Administration may need some readjusting; But, that's a small price to pay for a life saved.

ED charged a level 5 for almost $1900 (just the physician's charge separate from the ED/hospital) for a simple ED visit. The doctor spent 5 minutes, no one was caring or attentive to our needs. Terrible service and I question if the charges are fraudulent. After appealing I got a letter that "...the amount of time the doctor spends in your physical presence is not relative to the charges." Well then explain to me how a doctor does a full history, review of systems, physical exam in that amount of TIME? He is billing for a service NOT rendered even if he documents so (ie documenting something he did not perform or ask). That charge is reserved for true emergencies and true high risk, high complexity patients not headache with n/v. Dishonest practice. Dishonor or horror health at this location.

I had a CT guided bone marrow biopsy at HonorHealth Medical Center Thompson Peak and I'm very thankful for the care that I received from Tess at the recovery area. The special procedure staff (Dan, Shannon and K) were absolutely courteous, friendly and professional. Dan, the physician's assistant did an excellent job in making the procedure fast, thorough and pain free even without sedation upon my request. I had bleeding on my way out but the volunteers helped me to the treatment area where Steve and Jason took care of my blood soaked dressing and clothes. A volunteer named Blake helped me get an Uber ride despite my dead cellphone by allowing me to login to Uber on his own cellphone. I'm thankful for the utmost care that I received all the way out where the nurse supervisor made sure that I wasn't bleeding anymore. I'm grateful to everyone, sorry I can't remember all the names of the caring hospital team.

Very disturbing. I lived in Mexico for many years, thought I was close to a world class hospital. Had an issue went to the ER only 1 yes ONE DR was there and was not in my network. Would have been paying much more for dealing out of network. Left and went to my Primary got referrals and went to imaging. Why only one DR??? What if you had multiple issues. One DR really one DR. Wow.Can't believe this is the USA shameful.

I was taken to the emergency department on March 30, 2016 at 4pm, for bleeding (compromising my circulation), from the time I arrived, to the CT department, and subsequently being admitted to the 3rd floor that evening, 6 registered nurses had the opportunity to complete an assessment, which not one of them listened to my lungs, heart, checked pulses, did a skin assessment, all of which needs to be legally charted and documented in epic. All information that was documented is false since no assessments were completed. After arriving to the 3rd floor, at approximately 2:30 am I was administered dlilaudid IV for pain, I was not told what I was being given until after the medication was administered, the 6 rights of administration were not followed compromising patient safety. On April 1, 2016 at 11:15 I was taken to endo for a procedure at which time I was administered Versed and Fentanyl, after being returned to room 3-125 about 1 hour later, a representative from finance came in and informed me I owed 2321.00 approximately for one night at Thompson Peak (Honor Health), I was still under the effects of the anesthesia being asked for payment which is unethical since patients are instructed to not make any legal or financial decisions for at least 24 to 48 after being sedated. I was bullied into making the payment. At the time of discharge the day shift nurse did not review any discharge instructions, prescriptions, follow up appointments, diet, or activity, she merely asked me to sign a document stating I received said instructions. Overall my experience at Thompson Peak was below par at best however; the hospital aesthetically pleasing to one's eye, the care of the nursing staff and unethical behavior of the finance rep appaulling and dangerous to patient care. I will be submitting a complaint to the accrediting agency of Honor Health and my insurance carrier regarding the Quality of Care. In closing I am a Professionally trained Registered Nurse proudly working at Maricopa County Hospital where we do deliver competent patient care with dignity and safely. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY FACILITIES OF HONOR HEALTH. Deborah

Went to check in an employee that was stung by a scorpion and had major shortness of breath numbness and loss of memory and we were put at the bottom of the list. The front desk never asked what her symptoms were. Simply scorpion sting and that's it. Way to go Honor Health. Meanwhile multiple other people were getting called up my employee was sitting in the waiting room having major cramps shortness of breath and couldn't remember her husbands phone number. If I could I would give this place 0 stars.

August 30th, my wife was taken to the ER with a very severe Dog Bite. She was met with kindness, and professionalism. The entire staff was completely on their game. The ER Doctor new that it was more than just a bite, and took the liberty of contacting the Hand Surgeon, who was able to take care of her within 4 hours of arriving. Had the ER Doctor not done this, my wife may have lost complete movement in her hand and fingers. Once the procedure was done, she was admitted without and snags. Smooth as could be. Nice room, and the staff made you feel like they loved to work with one another, and loved their jobs. Everyone was attentive, and when needed, were there within 2 minutes, every time. Repeat, EVERY TIME. The Clinical Director came to the room and introduced herself. She was unbelievable. She was extremely professional, and all of the staff that worked with her kept her in the loop. I have been in many hospitals throughout the years. For my Father, Mother, 3 Kids, wife and myself. Never have I/we experienced the level of care that we received here at HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center. The best part is when I tell neighbors and friends about our experience, most of them have been there, and absolutely agree that it is the best. When given a choice, we will always choose HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak. Always.

I am writing this review while still in the hospital after having my hip replaced. I wanted to be sure I remember everyone's names to give them the credit they deserve and perhaps some advice on gaining some better interpersonal skills to others. My overall experience has been excellent, so far. The woman who registered me, (the only one who's name I can't remember) was very sweet and thorough, wishing me well with my surgery. I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE VOLUNTEERS! They were all AWESOME! My Pre-OP nurse Vicky lessened my anxiety with her upbeat sense of humor. Dr. Martin and his entire ortho team are top notch. Other than my delay in surgery, all went well. My night nurse, Kate, who just graduated nursing school is an absolute doll. She knows her stuff! She is efficient, super friendly and is very knowledgeable. Dave, the other nurse good as well. Now to the not so pleasent. My first encounter with any staff was with the RN who does the over the phone Pre-OP medical assessment. Her name is Susanne. She was exceptionally rude from the very start. She would ask a question and barely allowed time to answer. She would not stop berating me about the amount of Advil I was taking, to the point I had to get rude and tell her to move on to next question. The entire phone call with her was humiliating and insulting to me. She definitely could use some counseling on compassion, manners and human kindness. Dr. Martin. I love the guy. He's top notch at what he does and I can't say enough good about him. HOWEVER, the three hour delay to my surgery was brutal. I was scheduled for 10:30, had to arrive at 8:30 and did not get into surgery until about 1:00 or 1:30. My only advice is to stop overbooking your surgeries. I will be going home later today and may add to this review, but so far I have had a wonderful experience and my hip feels great, which really all that matters!

Am a domestic abuse victim and rape victim the staff is this hospital is the worse possible they have denied my pain management needs after the actuall doctor's that I've seen written pain and anxiety medications and put them thru computer but the nurseing staff on the 2nd shift refused to pay any attention to.the order placed by prescribing doctor the nurses here decide when u should get medication for pain and anxiety or in my case a all out panic attack i have never seen such blatened disregard for a a cancer patient with a domestic abuseongoing case against husband of 11 yrs and i also suffer from chronic back.hip.and neck pain stay away from Melissa and steve cause they choose to i believe keep medications for themselfes rather than listen to doctors orders worst patient care I've ever seen i would not bring a sick cat here rather than people

Dr Hildy Joe

Neurologist did not even examine me, admitted at 4am-discharged at 8, horrible, He never examined me.

This ER has always been great. They are usually extremely quick to get people back and is the only ER my family will use no matter where we move to in Phoenix. Our most recent experience we did wait a fair amount more than normal but the triage nurse Steve T. was phenomenal. He was so caring and empathetic. He gave the easiest IV, didnt even feel it. And even checked in after we were back in a room. Just a great person and employee. I never give reviews on anything but Steve earned every single bit of 5 stars for this hospital.

EXCELLENCE!!! I have had many mediocre and even worse experiences with hospitals. Not so with Honor Health Emergency at Thompson Peak in Scottsdale. Every person we had contact with from the moment we walked in and to our leaving was friendly, courteous and professional... I was particularly impressed with Dr Solem. A true health practitioner who was very caring and thorough in his examination. He was very friendly and took a lot of time to explain my issue... By the way, I did say we... My fiancée accompanied me and currently has 35 years nursing experience, including emergency... Yes, she was very impressed also.... Thank you Dr Solem and the great staff at Honor Health Hospital... By far the worst Hospital ever. Almost killed me, ended up going here, waited 12 hours for them to tell me there was nothing wrong and to wait 3 days to go see my Gyno - as I'm crying out in pain. Called my gyno - she told me to go to Shea right away, turns out I had a Ovarian Torsion. How could they not catch this??? my gyno said I showed all of the signs. Then they messed up my insurance and had to wait 8+ months for them to figure it out and Many Phone Calls then they sent it to Collections. Worst Hospital EVER.

Extremely quiet, never heard a PA blaring as is normal in many hospitals. Super communication among providers via personal wireless devices. New hospital, so everything is very attractive and clean. Staff at this location were extremely patient focused. Every one of the nurses and doctors were professional and friendly. They gauge your medical knowledge and speak at the correct level. I appreciated that they were more than happy to provide detailed information that I normally have to coax out of most providers. Food was very good! Entertainment options were fairly broad, but I used my tablet to watch Netflex via the consistently strong WiFi network. I can't say enough good about this hospital and staff!

My experience at this hospital was horrible, I just moved here from Chicago and wasn't working yet but didn't have insurance but I was taken to the ED by ambulance because I had a dizzy spell at my parents house. Now the paramedics were very nice but when I got to the hospital that was a whole different story. One of the nurses was rude to my parents who were asking her for an ice pack for me. The doctor showed no concern for me or my well being, I'm on blood thinners and when I asked him if he ran the test for my pt/inr he stated he didn't know I was on it so he didn't run the test. My list of men's were given to the paramedic and then handed to the nurse yet the doctor said he never received them but when I got my discharge papers my med list was there. I don't know if I was being treated this was because of my skin color or because I didn't have any insurance but I would never go or have anyone I know go there. I felt like I was treated like an animal maybe even worse.

Took my grandma in to the ER on Wednesday morning around 2:30 am, and from the get go this was a pretty horrible experience. When we first arrived there was literally no one in the waiting room so we went straight into triage where the horror began. After asking all the questions the nurse placed the blood pressure cuff over my grandmas oversized jacket which was the first mistake, causing the cuff to constrict so tightly around her arm that her entire arm and hand turned purple as her veins bulged under her skin and she screamed in pain. The nurse had the most disgusting look on her face and just demanded my grandma calm down and remain still instead of taking it off and letting her relax. The cuff was so tight my grandma broke out in little red spots all over her forearm and her upper arm was completely red. We walked back to a room where a very kind nurse came and spoke with us and asked some of the same questions.. She placed the IV needle in a rather small vein and practically had to massage the blood out in order to run the tests which ended up clotting which resulted in another nurse coming in to draw more blood out of another vein (tying the tourniquet so tightly around her shirt that she winced and moaned in pain yet again) . She was wheeled off to ultra sound very quickly and while she was gone quite a few people came in via ambulance which took up all of the staff and left us in our room for nearly 2 and a half hours without seeing anyone. Once the doctor came back with the results it took about 45 minutes longer to get her antibiotic for the infection she has and another 45 minutes to actually be discharged.. But before that she had to go through her another traumatizing blood pressure reading and then ANOTHER because the pain was so horrible that they couldn’t get a proper reading. Overall I’m left in shock over the treatment, experience, and care my grandma received. I only give them two stars because while the experience was absolutely horrible, her main nurse was very sweet and the doctor was gentle and caring.

The staff that took care of me at HonorHealth Thompson Peak ( Jan 14th - 16th, 2018) were all fantastic. Every single person I had interaction with from the ER to the surgical staff and post op caregivers were wonderful! Thanks to all!

I've spent my life in and out of hospitals sick for months at a time. When I was out of town in Phoenix, Arizona for business I ended up sick in intense pain all over. All alone hundreds of miles away from my specialists and usual hospital I took a leap of faith, and headed to Honor Health's emergency room. It was one of if not the best hospital experiences I've ever had. I checked in on a Wednesday at 5:11pm and was back in a room by 5:20pm. I was seen by a very competent, friendly, and concerned doctor. He went above and beyond with his assestment to truly understand how and where the pain was. Many friendly nurses were helping to make sure I was comfortable and very informed of all my options. I've always been a hard stick and it usually takes 5 - 10 attempts to get an IV. By the grace of god, my nurse caught my IV first try with no ultrasound needed. By 6:00pm I was administered medicines to help with all my symptoms. I was checked up on frequently and given many options by the doctor on handling the situation going further. I left at 10:00pm confident that I would be able to handle my pain at home and if not I had a high quality hospital to return to. Even my discharge documents were very amazing with a detailed list of the treatments I received and a plan for managing at home. I've never seen anything like that before in Atlanta! Because I was going to be in Phoenix for at least another month, the doctor even referred me to two other doctors to see while staying in Phoenix. Absolutely, spectacular! I've been to some good hospitals and some very bad ones. This was far from an isolated event. It was one of the best hospital experiences I've ever had and I would recommend this hospital to anyone in Phoenix or even the whole state of Arizona! Thank you Doctor Andy C Jou, and HonorHealth staff! 10 stars **********

Great place to work

I was an surgery outpatient and the nurses were OUTSTANDING - great at injecting my inter-venous (didn't feel it at all) and super nice and funny. It made the experience a pleasant one.

Requested my family records over 6 months ago. Our new physicians office received notification that they do not have any records for our entire family of 5. Been going there for over 10 years. Called to discuss directly and was put on hold with "records" for 45 minutes and still on hold. Service is poor, staff is not friendly and thus the reason we changed physicians in the first place.

lack of communication among staff, some nurses are nice and laid back while others are extreme opposite controlling and disrespectful. I thought I was the patient, these places need to understand where there bread is buttered and take care of there clients. Very disappointed and will not be back

Very sad and heart breaking visit to this racist institute. I took my 7 year old with sores covering his entire body to their ER without health insurance. Big mistake. Instead of helping me sign him up for emergency coverage through the state they insisted on sending me a bill in the mail. The minute my son was checked in the man checking him in kept on hinting that they were bed bug bites but when I asked him how it could be bed bugs when the fresh new wounds were just open sores that hadn't been scratched yet when bed bug bites don't do that he wouldn't say a thing. The homosexual Dr. , who I thought would have an open mind, jumped to the same conclusion and refused to do any further testing even after I basically begged him for my poor son's sake. He said,"there's not really anything to test for anything..." Which I believe was total BS. The whole staff seemed convinced that they were bed bug bites and kept saying to check his bed but I told them an exterminator had already done that and cleared my whole apt. Nothing seemed to matter to them but getting us out of their hospital. Sad that they sent by poor son away without even looking at any other possibilities or testing for a skin infection or biopsy or nothing. What I found very interesting was that even though he said it wasnt a bacterial infection he still prescribed my son Bactroban, a powerful anti bacterial ointment used to kill off bacteria from skin infections like MRSA and Staph. This place is a shame and embarrassment but not a whole lot different then the whole medical community. Natural cures from plants and food is the way I will heal my son and the only way anyone gets cured. Drs make money off of death and prolonged treatment from drugs and surgeries. They never really cute anyone. How many people do you know have been "cured" of a disease completely by Drs.?

Great staff. I really like this hospital.

From the ER to discharge my experience was terrifying and more concerning is that I am in healthcare so I never expected such unprofessional and lack of personal care from a very highly rated hospital. I have been a patient here 3 times and the 2 stays were beyond concerning. The ER doctor recommended hospice and pallative care for me without ever discussing my diagnosis or prognosis with me, he placed it in his dictation and my care during that stay was based on his grim recommendation. I am active , golf hike and work fulltime, I have cancer however my oncologist has not mentioned to me that my life expectancy is less than 6 months.Nursing never provided and bathing, bed linen changes, nor did they record my intake or output. I was over medicated for a proceedure and after multiple request about my stupor and inbility to maintain any sensable conversation, multiple test and consult where done. My daughter repeated requested information about my chnge in condition and was denied any information. She was terrified that I had become very ill and would permanently have a change affect. It was not until I requested.my mediical records that it was I learned that I was over sedated with 5 different medications in a 3.5 hour period.
