Special thanks to all the doctors and staff for dedicating their time to patients. Fast service and are willing to do what it takes to save a life. I recommend this hospital.

My visit was great and the staff was so nice, helpful and professional. Would not hesitate to go there again.

This absolutely the worst experience ever! The emergency room staff is completely pathetic at best. We arrived at 12:25 pm. We were walked right in and given a urine sample cup. Filled the sample and sat with the cup for the next 20 mins in a room. I went out and found a nurse to take and process the sample. The nurse acted confused and lost. After she took the sample we didn’t see anyone for the next half hour. Yet 5 nurses were hanging out at the nurses station chit chatting about patient satisfaction rates. The ultrasound tech arrived and was incredibly nice polite and punctual. After coming back from the ultrasound we sat for the next hour with out a single check in from anyone. Now we are getting pathetic, because after being in the hospital for over an hour and a half the first nurse came back and with a completely lost and confused set of questions about if anyone has seen us....or taken blood yet. They don’t take notes or keep track of what has been done or who did it. Most of the time we spent here was hearing the medical staff complain about child patients. Or how they had patients with trauma that required immediate care which resulted in them missing lunch. Yes lunch was a bigger issue then patients health. This is the biggest waste of time and money. I don’t know how this hospital is still open.

Horrible experience overall!! The staff are rude and unprofessional. One of the nurses gave me the wrong name tag and I had it for several hours before I realized it wasn’t mine. I highly recommend Banner health they are more organized and professional.

Courtney Conchola

The nurses are not friendly nor compassionate. They sit at the nurses station and play on their phones. My friend checked in, to have his fourth or fifth surgery, after being shot. He was advised he could not eat nor drink starting 12am last night, it is now 5pm the following day, the patient has not ate nor had surgery. His bullet wound is oozing puss through the gauze and through his sock. I had to change it for him because a nurse hadn’t been in the room to check on him. No pain meds, no antibiotics, since this morning. I don’t recommend this hospital for serious matters, just minor coughs and colds. They ARE NOT professionals.

Yolanda Flores

My daughter's nurses Cindy n Brooke in the ICU have been absolutely amazing. Thank u all for taking care of my daughter.

This is the best hospital I have ever been in. The staff from the minute I entered the emergency room until I left the hospital 3 days later were fantastic. Everyone I encountered doctors, nurses, respiratory, xray, plymbotomis everyone was so nice and helpful. Even the food services. Everyone had a smile and explained every step. 2 of the days there on the 3rd floor I had a nurse name Jennifer she was awesome. Thank you everyone. I left there feeling so much better.

Wow! We did online check in and enjoyed the best ER experience we have ever had. I know the word enjoyed sounds "wrong" for the ER, but it was the word of choice for this visit. The doctor was quick, knowledgeable and helpful. The entire process....tests, procedures and services were expedited in such a timely fashion that I was stunned. I truly am grateful for such a smooth, efficient process at such a sensitive time.

Thank you to the birthing staff on 10/26/17 - 10/27/17. Latasha helped my daughter so much through the night! She stayed an extra hour to make sure everything was ok with my granddaughter Luna and daughter Samantha! Things got a little tough there for mother and baby but the nurse made sure both were safe! Thanks so much! You are the best and will never be forgotten!!!!!!!

On December 27, 2015 I was having a serious major stroke. My husband brought me to the ER and they immediately got me took the back and started taking care of me!!! The saved my life !!! I am so thankful for them and their quick response time!!! I was admitted into the hospital for several days the staff was very awesome!!! They let my husband stay in the room with me day and night. I highly recommend this hospital.

I had emergency surgery and pins and screws placed in my hip. It is now three and a half months later and my Dr. at home is having to do a hip replacement because I was never able to straighten my leg, the screw is preventing my leg from straightening. The hospital has billed my insurance but it's been denied twice because of missing or incorrect information, they came around with their card machine for me to pay while I was still recovering from the surgery, definitely don't recommend this hospital.

This hospital is the worst. I had went in last night about 12:30 am due to me having shoulder pain. I had my niece with me and the front registration people had told me I can't take her to the back with me due to "flu season". I told them that she's not going to wait in front lobby alone. Remind you she's only 7. They said OK well she's going to need a mask on while being in the back. We were ok with that. While I'm in the back getting my vitals my friend is standing in the front. They basically tried to throw my niece to him and I had told them that he is nobody to sit in lobby and watch her, that he won't be watching her. They still tried to argue. I took everything off of me so that I can leave but they told me no to just sit and relax. And then they took me to intake one and I looked at my niece's face and she looked scared and uncomfortable like she knew she was not welcome there. I asked her do you wanna leave and she said yes. So we had just got up and left due to a 7 year old not feeling welcome and uncomfortable. So thank you west valley for making her feel that way. Sadly this is the only hospital in goodyear!!

I've been in this hospital many times for various reasons. There have been a few problems but over all they treated me very well. The nurses and doctors are professionals. They listen to you and find the problem. They fixed my small intestines and saved my life. The nurses are courteous and attentive. They answer your call swiftly and get to you as soon as possible. They are very busy and some people are impatient. All you have to do is understand their work load. Give them time and they will stay with you until you're done needing their help. If there is a person that isn't kind or acts like they just don't care, they will take care of the situation. A temp was not kind and was fired for her actions. Let it be known that you were mistreated and they will investigate. They take swift action and remove the problem. This is the only hospital I will go to for treatment. Thank you west valley!

thomas doyle

They keep you in against your own

Andrew Tidmore

Received excellent care in the emergency department

Came in with a bruised foot thinking it was broken. They were extremely busy but I was in and out within 2 hours. All of the staff were awesome especially the X-ray technician Christine!! Thank you for taking care of me! This was my first visit here and if I need emergent care I will come here again. Thank you for being so kind, quick and resourceful

If you Love your Family member, do what you can to avoid this place. If you you don't care for them, they won't either. Father-In-Law waits on average of 2 hours before someone will come to the room. He's Piss and Shi* himself so many times waiting on the staff. His nurse Benn* said "I Don't Care" more times then I can count. Her sentiment is exactly the attitude of this place. AVOID AT ALL COST!

Unfortunately we chose this facility for the birth of my son. Should have done research and found a better location. They do not do circumcisions here. The focus after birth was selling photos, and getting a payment. The billing staff had NO CLUE that I didn't have to pay any deductible because my insurance covers all of that. No I am in the process of getting information regarding vitamin K being administered or not and no-one has a clue. In order to possibly obtain that information I must again PAY. Oh and that information will not be released to me immediately so any health concerns or needs are not going to be met. Parents please don't conceive at this place. Biggest nightmare as a parent is not having information provided to you in a correct professional manner. I have discharge papers that are half completed. Unreal.

v Simm

Sad my son was brought here. Some of the nurses were very nice. But she took him out of er room for urine sample after he had been given meds.If I knew she would just leave him there I would have waited for him. I had to go looking for him. and he was coming back to the room. 10 min after he was back i went to let nurse know sample was waiting (response-I know)10 min or so after that she came to take it who knows how long b4 someone did anything. The blood draw nurse was not so nice. No wheelchair to help him and me out to the car. I'd give 0 if I could.

Brooke Bello

The only reason I am giving 5 stars is because nurse David who worked in the green hall where I was before being moved to the yellow side to wait more comfortably for a room upstairs. Thank God he could still see me from my position on the bed crying in pain because my new nurse never even brought me a call light even after multiple people told him to bring one and was withholding my meds until he got back from whatever he was doing. David you are much appreciated.

Penny Fernbaugh

I was seen immediately. No line. I was taken into an examination area. The PA was exceptionally thorough and formulated a plan of tests after determining my condition. I was given a CT scan before I was escorted to my bed. The staff was very efficient, caring and generally concerned about my condition. Tests were given quickly and the results of the test very complete and comprehensive. MY EXPERIENCE: from admissions to the entire nursing staff they were the best. This experience was the great. If you have to go to the ER I definately would recommend this facility to anyone and everyone.

Wish I could put 0 stars don't bother going here I went in April and have been robbed out of $975 already just to wait over 2 hours to be seen and than to be put in another waiting room in the back to be prescribed ibuprofen that didnt even fix my issue, so I ended up being in that hospitals waiting areas for over 6 hours, I have gone to my physician to be told that was the worse thing for them to prescribe that it was a pointless prescription, now they want another $285 are you kidding me!!!!! Dont bother going here stay in pain till you can get to your doctor it's not worth it!!!! UPDATE they still screwed me for my money and even though they have me an email to send my response no outcome came of it. They must answer and put that so they act like they care!!! Screw this hospital!!

Stay Br00t4l602

Came in with a blood pressure of 174/109, fighting a panic attack, after three hours of sitting in a chair with no one saying anything to me I walked out. But the guy that came in after me with hives from an antibiotic, also dealing with anxiety, gets prednisone and adivant, and gets discharged. This place is a joke

Hi my name is Lilly, on 11/8/18 with the fluctuated high BP,HA and shortness of breath and by the suggestion of my family doctor . So i went to ER Abrazo west campus , and was admitted there in the 3rd floor. After a lot if tests ( blood, urine ,chest xr , Ct scan the forehead cause i had a very HD), i got a result sinus severe infection under the skin and low sodium. So they kept me there to monitor the heart ang boost the sodium level till normal and also treat for the sinus infection . During the stay , all the nurses and the staff (from the nurse aids to the food department ,the cleaner etc ) ,they are working hard , nice and very patient and gentle to patients ( the primary need for the illness) , they updated all my results every day ,and tried to response quick to my request. They put down all the persons in charge names & their title on the board , & and the staff changed every day ,but i still remembered some of them for example "Mary ,Hannah, Judith ,anastasia, Charlene ,etc but my favorite is Donna , she is so sweet, and dr in charge that time is dr Nassour ,he is very nice and knowledgeable. ,professional .In summary, they all work hard , have precise diagnosis, otherwise i can say the patients are in the good hand and meet all their needs And the ER staff too , they are caring and nice and even they work very hard and under the pressure but they sre still smile and nice to patients. I can't say that Abrazo west campus is 100% perfect , cause it's human being ,but i still scored them 5 stars cause they deserve it and also i want to encourage them to reach the goal "provide good care for patients" One more thank to nicole and Stacey for helping me to have prescription csllec in to my pharmacy and i am thankfully to all the staff of Abrazo west campus who cared for me the time i was in there

Stephanie Gutierrez

Past 3 visits to ER have been handled promptly and efficiently with excellent results. Stays in the hospital were also friendly and professional.

My husband had a great experience at this Hospital from 2 emergency room visits to surgery!

John Smith

Had my second reconstructive surgery from cancer removal at Abrazo West. My experience was outstanding. Every person I dealt with, from administration to my post op nurse, was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I had two prior surgeries at different facilities and to be honest they did not compare to Abrazo West. I sincerely felt that the people I dealt with actually cared about my well being. I was under quite a bit of anxiety heading into this surgery and the staff was outstanding at making me feel comfortable, they were warm and caring. I had problems from anesthesia from prior surgery and that was relayed to my anesthesiologist and had much better experience post op. Nothing but good things to say about this facility and especially the people who cared for me during my stay.

Anthony F. Angelic

My 96 year old father is ongoing extensive testing by doctors, staff. Results soon to follow. Staff medically responsive, insightful and explanatory. Staff nursing supervisor Felix, outstanding. Hospital supervisor nurse Bryan exceptional. Hospitalist John Kercheval, DO has kept me current on father's condition, plan of remedy. I am told that there are nine doctors reviewing my father's conditions. Follow up: my father was given unnecessary narcotic.

Diana Aidee Lopez

Hands down best experience! Nurses and docs were great, husband went in on an EXTREMELY busy night for kidney stones. We were out in less than 2.5 hours, with prescriptions even blood pressure medication because my husband had ran out! Awesome! No other hospital has come close to this hospital!!! Thank you!

Jose Venegas

I was involved in a car roll over on 11/14/18. From day one, all my needs were met. 5 surgeries later, 5 days in ICU, They have all been great! A big thanks to all, especially YaYa, who made me the most comfortable n cared for patient. Still in here 2 weeks later. Its 11/28/18. But, will be leaving here soon. Next day or two. Then to post acute rehab for another 2 weeks or so. Gotta relearn to walk n such.

Manuel Cortez

I sat for more than 3 hours had to leave and go somewhere else .I'm with pain but couldn't tolerate they keep on passing people who where on Facebook laughing people that just could of waited longer than me .And it wasn't just a lot of other people felt like me .

My 89 year old father waited over 10 hours in the E.R. to be admitted to a room for pneumonia! ALL the nurses said this was normal for their hospital. In fact, one nurse bragged that when she left the night before, the same patient in E.R. was still waiting for a room when she came back to work the next morning. How is this normal!!!

Marisol Alliv

I completely recommend this Hospital staff and everyone there where a lot of help very nice people I had my fourth child there and I was just amazed on how good my stay and service was especially my night nurse JOJO!! she is such an amazing person very sweet and helpful I would give it more stars if I could.

Shawn Gionet

Had 3 surgery’s and the first time I was treated good after that the other 2 was garbage... I won’t ever go there again. Was mistreated by the nurses. Then to add on I signed a paper of another patient... how do you mess that up.....

Stacie Davis

Horrible parking I’m disabled and all spots were taken! Not enough parking spots at all! Didn’t get picked up with cart that was somewhere in lot, don’t know where. Er is horrible you have to sit around corners and they call you but over around the corners you can hardly hear them. Haven’t even been seen yet and it’s alreay horrible! It’s busy so understand takes time.

Jamie hinton

BEWARE MY FRIEND WENT IN FOR STAB WOUNDS THEN discharged with no pain pills or antibiotics. 3day later in a Non steral environmental procedure was done in the dirty er.THERE a (MACHINE )was used by a lower staff.broke a huge needle off in his arm and the nurse assistance began to open his arm seacrcing for the lost ?????he had to wait for the (real surgeon) then being put under he awoke to no information about the plastic n broken needle inside.now let me tell u they discharged with no meds for pain ..now he has an infection and they tell him two weeks until he can be seen again . During the whole horrifying ardeal he was never offered anything but water...no even discharge info to care for wounds or emergency signs

Steven Krigbaum

My wife and I just had our baby girl delivered last week and the nurses were so incredible! They were so empathetic and caring and never once did they mind going above and beyond to help us out.

Linda Stevens

By far the worst experience! I’m still waiting for a return call from case management. No communication between staff daily pressure to move mom to nursing home after being told family would care for her. Thumbs down Trauma... people/patients/family Don’t take your loved ones there. Don’t do it

Kathleena Jimenez

Son had open heart surgery. There ICU unprofessional . Surgeon wants to perform open heart surgery then not follow up. Went on vacation cancelled 3 appointments he too busy to check patient s wounds called his office told he didn't have time he was saving lives, or destroying them? . I came in because I had fallen and hurt my back and I was in alot of pain that was August and it being October it still hurts and I'm not sure what's wrong because no one could give me my answer. So I went to the emergency room and the gathered all my information they then sat me in a corner where there is a one person couch and waited for the doctor about 5 min not to bad he checked my back suggested I get an x-ray and a shot on my back for pain (temporary fix of course) so then he left and I never spoke to him again for the remainder of my visit. I then waited for my pick up to the radiology room the x-rays were done and take he then took me to the LOBBY to wait not a patient not any thing else but a LOBBY waited there for about an hour I got antsy and asked if the doctor would speak with me then a lady (not the doctor) came out and said to me your x-rays look fine they didn't show me them they did not consult me on my x-rays and I just left because they were no help........come to find out that whole visit came out to be almost a 3,000 dollar trip I understand that you are a hospital and you charge for the emergency room but for my lousy visit that is just nonsense.i didn't even use there resources or even placed in a patients room I have been to another hospital and the actually use there resources on me and placed me in a patient room and it didn't come close to what this hospital is charging me west hospital experience ever. And I still don't know what's wrong with me

Vivi Lizethh

Had my daughter here in March of 2017 my first baby. I had a great experience except at first the nurse in the labor and delivery triage took a painful drug test for no reason and didn't give me no information just left me there while I was having painful contractions I was scared and had so many questions until later another took me into the delivery room. She was awesome my plan was not to have any pain medication and she was very supportive she and a couple of other nurses delivered my baby my labor was so fast the doctor didn't make it. After getting clean up and going into my new room all the nurses were amazing I love this hospital and will continue to have my future kids here thank you Dr. Bujak best ob

I would rather die than visit Abrazo West Campus.

Whoever the female ER head is, is a horrible person. After being very ill for a long time, I came in again because I was feeling terrible and having many issues. She came to me personally to let me know that she believed I was a drug seeker and not to come back. Needless to say that made me bawl like a baby. I had to go all the way over to Mesa, to Banner Desert, to be diagnosed correctly. Abrazo had noticed a spot on my lung but dismissed it as nothing because of my age. Turns out I had valley fever and necrotic tissue was eating my lung. After being diagnosed in Mesa I was scheduled for lung surgery, which resulted in a full lobectomy of the left side of my lung. So thank you abrazo, you misdiagnosed and nearly killed me. Your service is horrible and I have never been back to your hospital and never will be. I let everyone know that your Hospital ER is a joke. F you people.

Rachel Elizalde

Where do I began? How do I began to doscribe how horrible and terrifying my experience was at this hospital? Will it even matter because, I tried making a formal complaint at the hospital but I was refused that service. My wife was transferred from a sister Abrazo emergency room, by ambulance , to Abrazo West Campus due to an umbilical hernia. She needed surgery to repair it. When she arrived to to the ER, we were met by a nurse that was so rude to the paramedics that I almost interrupted to tell her to stop. I decided to pick my battles and only be concerned about my wife. We were then met by he surgeon, which was amazing ! He was calm, cool, and collected. He answered every question and resssured is that it will be a quick, 20 min surgery and she could possibly be out the same day. Soon after, my wife was taken into pre-op (Cardiovascular lab) to be prepped for surgery. The nurse named Carolina seemed pleasant, asked us all the important questions including who should be notified during an emergency and also who can be given all the medical information after the surgery. Of course it was me, due to being the spouse. The surgery was scheduled for 4:30 pm . Around 2:45pm the nurse came into the curtained area to let us know they were taking her in 10 mins. I was shocked they were taking her early , but also relieved. The surgeon came back into speak to my wife and again said the surgery was going to be super fast, in and out, about 20 mins. I asked the surgeon and nurses standing there how long it would be before I got to see my wife after surgery. They said at the most an hour and half from beginning to end. They just need a short window for her to wake up. So they took my wife for her first surgery in her life and I left it in God’s hands. My friend and I waited in the waiting room just outside the cath lab. There was no one else out there but us. An hour and a half goes by and we figured we would be called back soon, or given updated information on my wife’s prognosis. 2 hours go by so I pick up the hospital phone to the cath lab and ask if my wife is still in surgery. The young mans voice over the phone told me that he doesn’t know who I’m talking about and that “most likely the surgery was delayed “ and “most likely there was an emergency while in surgery.” I then questioned him, an emergency possibly with my wife ? He put me on hold and I overheard him asking someone about my wife. He said he doesn’t know but I just need to wait it out. So I hung up with him and walked back to my friend really concerned . My friend and I asked one another things like , “ if the surgery was delayed, shouldn’t someone have told us so we don’t worry? Or if there was an “emergency “ or complication, shouldn’t I be notified? We sat there for another 30 mins worried. I didn’t hear anything so I went back to the phone and talked to a different person. The lady transferred me over to my wife’s nurse Carolina. I asked Carolina if she had any news because I was told that the surgery could have been delayed or there could have been an emergency, and also I was told twice by the surgeon that the surgery would only be 20 mins and 1 1/2 hours tops to see my wife. She said that she has “no idea what’s going on with her” and that she has to run a patient up to the 3rd floor and when she gets back in 15-20 mins. She will find out “ where my wife is.” So we hung up and I began to worry and question why they would make me wait so long to hear something and why they couldn’t send someone else to help me if Carolina was so busy with another patient? The time was going on 3 hours and I grew extremely concerned. Still no Carolina, no doctor , nothing . So I picked up the phone and the same young man from the first phone call answered. I asked to speak with a charge nurse. He put me on hold and put Carolina on the phone. Carolina was not happy with me. She yelled at me and said rudely ,” what did I tell you I was going to do?”I said to her that was 20 mins ago and I haven’t heard anything from you. ( Part 1) read other review .

This is the most unprofessional hospital that I or any family member has been to. I know every state has different laws and procedures but this hospital is the worst. In the ER area there is not the room for the volume of patients. Beds in hallways on monitors other handcuffed to beds, If not enough room build more rooms, expansion is rampant in the medical field. Then you get a PA that is rude and uninformed when you my wife was taken to ICU. Some of the nurses were great but the staff from case management are not professional and lack in follow up. They tell you they are setting up home health fiscal therapy but that has been 5 days and no follow up. They say to call doctor for appointment but doctor is just a hospitalist and does not take appointments. You call the case managers office and leave messages and never get a return call. Now I see why people say this is the house of death. I understand some of the reviews and why it is posted on the floor the only 57% patients have a satisfied stay in Abrazo West.

Sandra B

I am surprised by all of these reports. I went into their ER dept. Late one night to get some glass removed. They treated me with respect...took me back to be treated as soon as I arrived. They were able to remove some of the glass even one that was inbeded Into the bone because I waited 2 weeks walking on it. They advised me that one piece would need to be removed from my other foot surgically. They treated me very professionally.I would recommend them to family or friends anytime.

The absolute worst hospital I've ever been to. I wouldn't even trust Abrazo West Hospital with my dog! The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I was taken to their ER after an auto accident. I had brain/ head injuries w/ concussion, torn rotator cuff and other multiple injuries. I was left alone in the hospital ER room for hours at a time with concussion, and multiple injuries, I kept telling them I was in pain they gave me absolutely NOTHING for it, and forget about pushing the nurse button - they will not answer and will be ignored as I've also read on other multiple reviews! The staff was carelessly pushing and rolling me around the CT Scan and I was screaming in pain, they even became belligerent and yelled at me to stay still, knowing I was just hit by a car a few hrs prior, again with No Pain Medication! The staff continued to ignore me and was left alone with no pain medications for another 5 hrs! Then I was abrublty discharged still in pain with multiple injuries and told to follow up with my PCP, what a joke! If you care about yourself and loved ones-- please please avoid this deathtrap at all costs, as you will read numerous other patients suffering from the same horrific treatment and negative experiences at this hospital. I will never ever go to this deathtrap/ aka Abrazo West Hospital ever again, even if my life depended on it!

I wish I could put 0! I went in with bad pain in my side and got seen almost right away..not bad. However! When I was about to get my blood taken, the first nurse came in and tried giving me an IV. She stuck me twice, one in my arm and one in my hand. Both of them are so bruised. She didn't wait until the alcohol dried, she didn't listen to me when I told her it hurt, she didn't stop when I asked, and in the end she said "at least youre not thinking about your pain in your side anymore". I was crying and in pain and she kept going. Horrible!! I will not be coming back!!

JENNIFER LERPOLD

I have a friend in the er right now that has been sitting in a hall way and they arrived there before noon! It's 730 pm...No one checking on them... In reading these other reviews I agree.. Don't go here! What kind of care is this? Emergency means just that... Not 8 hours later.. Sad.

DO NOT GO TO ABRAZO IF YOU ARE MILITARY AND ARE USING TRICARE . Abrazo is clearly not a military friendly organization. My husband had emergency surgery in March 2018. The quality of healthcare is good but the billing department is not. We have had a terrible time with their billing department in trying to get them to communicate with Tricare. Tricare is willing to pay the bill but Abrazo refuses to call the number Tricare wants them to call to get the payment started. We have explained to Abrazo multiple times what they need to do and the CSRs lie about the notes they supposedly put into their system and yet we have to explain to every person what we have already told them multiple times. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told that there were not any, then when I pushed, the CSR said they would come in a few hours. You would think they would want to get paid but obviously they are more interested in sending us bills that we can't afford to pay that our insurance company is more than willing to do so. Apparently making a phone call to Tricare is just too much for them to do.

I don't understand the low stars. I think this hospital is fantastic! The staff is very knowledgeable and very caring. I was just admitted and had to stay for almost a week and everyone was great. They figured out what was wrong with me, they cared and were concerned. My wife was there last year and needed her appendix taken and this hospital did awesome. I had all faith in them when I had to go for my problems. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone. Very clean hospital, very professional people that know what they are doing.

Austin in registration did an outstanding job for my husband this morning. His Dr had not signed the order for his procedure and Austin obtained the signature in a professional and caring manner. He stayed in touch with us, acknowledged our long wait, and inspired confidence that he would resolve the issue quickly, which he did. I observed his interactions with other patients as he called them in to register and staff members. He was consistently efficient, professional, respectful, and compassionate.

Sylvia Blais

I was in the hospital for 8 days and I had the best staff ever. From the Drs to wonderful nurses as well as really nice cleaning staff. They all made me feel like a person with compassion. Humor to taking an interest in me as a human. I would go there again with out question.

Roberta Martinez

My husband was cared for at this hospital after a serious car accident last month. I truly am thankful for everyone who took care of him. Everything is very neat, the doctors check up on him daily and coordinate d his care. Like I said everyone from kitchen to cleaning people were kind and amazing but he had two very special nurses which we will forever remember, sio and yaya. I don’t remember their full names but they spoke Spanish which helped Out a lot because we had a lot of family visit him. We hope never to go to a hospital again but if we had to abrazo would be our choice

Only giving this one star because 0 is not an option. My mom was waiting in an overflowing emergency room for almost two full days before receiving emergency surgery. Whenever she asked for anything, a nurse or PCA would never come back. We NEVER saw the same person twice. She had to do recovery in the emergency room instead of the ICU. The surgeon didn't come in to talk to her until almost three days after surgery. She's been in the hospital for almost a week now and has only had one morning of physical therapy and should have moved to rehab days ago. The staff is seriously the worst. If you can, please do not go to this hospital!

I went to emergency room twice release me. Still didn't know what was wrong with me.5 blood transfusion.I had bad pre the following day. Then I was release.still didn't know what was wrong with me. Went home was not feeling well.18 hours later.Check in the emergency room at Banner hospital.By my house within 3hour their told me what kind of infection that I had.I think of my condition without knowing what my problem was. Then shouldn't not release me.Good thing that I banner Hospital.I probably would have been in worst Sharpe or died.I believe that I suffered way to much.Im going to make a legal matter of unfortunate experience at Abrazo hospital.

I had to go to the ER in the middle of the night. The entire staff, doctors, nurses, techs were all so kind, compassionate and informative. I have been to other ERs and by far this was the best. I even received a follow up call the next day from the Doctor to make sure I was okay and that got an appointment with a specialist. So thankful they were there through my difficult time.

Allen Moreno

Very professional staff. Compassionate and very timely with service. Swift and assured me things will be alright and taken care of. 5 stars

Jayne Greene

We had to take a visit to the emergency department. Everyone was wonderful with one exception. Our doctor was very kind, helpful and extremely informative. I believe it was Dr. Fructos. Our nurse was very degrading, not helpful in the least and frankly quite rude. Her name was Amanda T. She rolled her eyes quite a bit and simply appeared to be put out by us needing to be there. If I were grading everyone else that we came in contact with during our visit, I would have given an overall 5 stars. However, our nurse alone made this experience a 1 star visit. This is very unfortunate. We will definitely chose to come back if we need to, but would certainly hope that she never be our nurse, or anyone else's nurse for that matter.

Where do I even begin? This is the second time that my father has been admitted to Abrazo west, to say that his stay was terrible would be an understatement! My father is a total assist and the nurses neither took the time to help him eat(he's a choke risk) or provide hygienic care for him. He was over medicated(probably so they wouldn't have to deal with him) and we had to tell the doctor to stop with all the pain meds because he wouldn't even wake up! If my mother and I wouldn't have been there to assist him and speak up on his behalf, they would have just let him lay and rot. We walked into the room on a number of occasions to find his tray of food out of reach and him trying to reach for it. His lips and mouth were so dry from him not getting water that his lips were stuck together, tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth and he got oral thrush!! The nurses lied on each other to try and cover up their mistakes and got attitudes when asked questions that we, his family have the right to know. Even after talking to the DON, nothing changed. My mother and I ALWAYS take the stairs due to her having severe claustrophobia and not being able to ride in elevators and we took the proper steps to make sure that security, and the front desk were informed that we were heading up and today a nurse named Tesse, confronted us at the door telling us we couldn't come in that way.. without even getting all the information. After TRYING to explain that security and the front desk knew and called the nurses station to let them know we were coming up, she said well next time you have to use the elevator, rudely! Without knowing we were behind her still, she said "I didn't realize you guys were special" in a very smug tone! After she found out we were still there, she tried to apologize saying she shouldn't have said that. Too late!! Never in all my life have I experienced such poor behavior and lack of professionalism at a hospital. Take your loved ones elsewhere and save yourself the headache! I plan on filing a formal complaint and requesting a sit down with the CEO, if that even gets anywhere.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at this ER. I’ve taken my daughter in at as young as 6 months old. I’ve also taken in my 5yr old & my husband. The staff has always been amazing, front desk, nurses, doctors, admin, etc. It’s always been right away check in, and our concerns are always addressed. It’s clean, it doesn’t stink, there’s vending machines, TVs, etc. Worse thing I can think of is that their chairs suck lol typical hospital chairs.

I dropped my husband off at the ER at 10:30am on a Monday morning for high blood pressure, rapid heart beat, and a tight chest. He texted me two minutes later that there were a lot of people waiting. At 10:55 am he said he had just gotten triaged and was sent back to the waiting room to wait to be taken back. At 2:09pm he texted that they had just taken him back to a room! THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER! Doctor spent a couple of minutes with him, prescribed him a medication and said not to worry about what his heart rate was and that it was probably just anxiety. Doctor said “don’t chase numbers” when it comes to blood pressure. Husband was done at 3:24 PM. This was a terrible experience. To go for rapid heart, tight chest, and high blood pressure and be told it was “probably” anxiety with absolutely no tests is ridiculous. We will NOT be returning to this location and will tell everyone we know not to. 4/26 update: we received a call on 3/26 (the day after the services were provided) from the director of quality. She stated they would do an investigation on the incident. We have not heard from anyone since. It is also worth noting that my husband had an appointment with his PCM later the same week and they did an EKG which determined he should see a cardiologist. Definitely reinforces the fact that this hospital does not do their job. We received the bill today for the “services” and that is frustrating as well due to the fact they clearly didn’t do anything. Spoke to the director who said a letter was mailed out, and that they would be in touch next week with an update.

I gave birth here almost a week ago and I was so happy with the nurses and after baby care!! The nurses ended up delivering my baby because I delivered so fast! I appreciate the quietness they provide in the atmosphere the laid back healing vibes it promotes. Not too many people in and out bothering your bonding time with baby! I just could go on and on! Loved those nurses in L&D who basically coached me through labor because I was all alone!! Thank you thank you thank you!

Christina Flotes

Very friendly staff and took very good care of me !!!!!!!!!

J K

Beware horrible hospital!!! Horrible staff! Very unprofessional! Would never recommend that facility! Those people should be ashamed of how they treat people!! If I could give negative stars that would be the rating that place deserves!

Kristin Zuehl

Still sitting here over an hour in the lobby for our loved one that was brought in by ambulance-that is SITTING IN THE HALLWAY still. If you CANT TREAT PATIENTS IN A TIMELY MANNER SEND THEM TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL. This is ridiculous and we can't even go back to see him while he's waiting in the hall. This hospital has more love of the $$$ than getting people seen and helped. Don't go here!! And this isn't my first horrible experience with this hospital. How about NO stars.

Aimee Griffith-Johnson

This hospital has got to be one of the WORST hospitals that I’ve ever stepped foot in. I would strongly recommend taking your loved ones to another hospital, preferably without the name “Abrazo” on the building. If your loved one’s need assistance getting themselves up and moving around, & need to call for their nurse, they may wind up meeting their maker before they come in; then scold you for assisting your loved one to their wheel chair after waiting over an hour & half. They should be reported under “Disability Neglect”! Shame on you Abrazo! You should be held to a higher standard; perhaps an investigation will be in your near future!

Lindsey Shore

I had to bring my husband in for severe abdominal pain and they got us in right away, didn’t even have a chance to sit down. Megan was our nurse and we loved her! After helping my husband with his pain, she was friendly and joked around with us and made us feel comfortable. Dr. D was personable and very thorough, we were happy to have him overlooking all the tests and trying to figure out what was going on. Although we did not get a clear answer (all tests were coming back normal), they were able to help my husband with his severe pain which was our main concern. They also scheduled a Dr’s appointment for us with our primary Dr (which was very convenient and one less thing for us to worry about doing). Higher up management checked in on us to make sure we were doing okay and getting everything we needed. I would definitely come back to this hospital and would suggest it to friends. I hate being in hospitals and having that sense of worry but everyone was extremely nice and helpful here at Abrazo West! I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us.

Linda Alfaro

My daughter had her son there a week and a half ago. Every nurse that came into her room were awesome. We have no complaints about her birth experience here whatsoever

Denise Covarrubias

I was here to deliver my baby. The labor & delivery nurses were all amazing. I had a smooth delivery thanks to them & my doctor. So with no complications while giving birth everything went great. But again it was thanks to the nurses who were so sweet & caring. I unfortunately didn’t have my mom or sisters here since they live out if state. So it was just my husband & I. But the nurses really made me feel like they cared for me, witch you need while giving birth they’re support & care was absolutely great. Thank you to all the staff in labor & delivery. ❤️

AGAIN 1 STAR IS FAR TOO MUCH! I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF THAT WERE AN OPTION! MY DAD WAS ADMITTED ON 3-16-19 DUE TO A WORK INJURY & A BROKEN FOOT. OTHER THAN PAIN & THE FOOT HE WAS FINE....THEN ON 3-18-19 THAT ALL CHANGED. HE WAS TAKEN INTO SURGERY TO REPAIR THE FOOT BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DO SO BECAUSE OF A "CARDIAC EVENT" SINCE THEN THEY HAVE TREATED HIM LIKE A NOBODY.. & THEIR SOLUTION FOR ANYTHING IS TO SEDATE INSTEAD OF ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. THE NURSE ALSO DEMANDED THAT MY DAD STAND ON HIS FRESHLY PINNED FOOT EVEN THO THE SURGEON HAS ORDERED HIM TO NOT EVEN SO MUCH AS SET THAT FOOT ON THE GROUND AT ALL FOR THE NEXT 3 MONTHS! ONE NURSE ALSO ACCUSED MY FATHER OF BEING A DRUNK! HE HAS BEEN THERE OVER 2 WEEKS & WE HAVE YET TO SEE AN ACTUAL DOCTOR! ALL OF OUR QUESTIONS & CONCERNS ARE TOTALLY AVOIDED & SOME OF THE NURSES HAVE BEEN UNBELIEVABLY RUDE! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE EVER! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ALL THE WAY AROUND!

Dawn Isrow

Unfortunately I am still here, I have been here for 4 days so far , the emergency room and the first 2 days were great, the staff were wonderful. But I guess the saying all good things must come to an end, if you are not their patient they won't help you, crying in pain and they just walk out the room like they didn't see you, I have been refused medication, left for hours in pain, the call button means nothing. I could keep going on.... Shift change is in about an hour, if it's the same staff from last night then I will find out if I can transfer to a different floor or hospital, even del Webb and Boswell are better then this

Brian Williams

This is the most worst hospital I ever been in ever in life they are very disrespectful and it take them 9 hrs 13 minutes for them to sell my wife who had the flu they told us the was waiting on a bed witch she never gotten a bed or anything. I wouldn’t come here if this was the only hospital on earth I would weather die first because coming here u would die anyway. I give them a -0

Denise Rico

I would do No star, 0 , NADA if I could. The RN that took care of my dad when he was in the ER, is only there for a paycheck! Does not care for the patients that are under his care. If you decide to come to abrazo west bring some one with you at all times, you will need a second pair of eyes to take care of you. "Dead bed is the nick name for this hospital" I couple of months have passed by since the review i posted, my dad never recovered from hospital stayed, went into hospice and a week later passed away. R.I.P dad.........

Mary Ann O'Brien

Both my husband and I have had excellent care at Abrazo. I feel comfortable knowing it is so close by. I commend the Doctors , Nurses and Staff for their hard work and dedication. The nurses & aides are overworked, and underpaid in my opinion. Thank you Abrazo !

Katy P

Wish I could give zero stars...this hospital cares about one thing ands one thing only, your money. Won't go back here even if it's a matter of life and death as death is preferable to the care and treatment received here. Rudest staff I have ever encountered!!

Michelle Medina

My 17 year old child was admitted over the weekend with serious head injury. I want to personally thank staff for your hard efforts n support in this matter.my child is a smart kind loving happy young person who is loved by so many ppl with alot of life left ahead of her. She goes by the nick named red and loves to sing,I know she is in good hands here . Once again thank you very much to all staff for taking care and providing quality genuine care for my child.

Shannah Spaugy

The ER doctor, Katrina Aquino, that treated my father was amazing and tried very hard to get my father treated fully, if I could I would give her 5+ stars I would in a heartbeat, however the general surgeon Prashant is unprofessional, uncaring and rude to his patients. He told my father and me that he was a busy man and he might be able to "squeeze him in" in a couple weeks, and then followed by saying he needs the surgery in 3-5 days. He then had my father rushed discharged, and to you could tell the ER doctor didn't agree but he wouldn't listen. We then left the hospital with prescriptions and a catheter now placed in my father just to get home and find out they didn't give him the antibiotics or the nausea medication just pain pills.

NANCY FAUSTO

gave birth yesterday morning October 12 to my son it was amazing nurses were great amy and errin were amazing made my stay there great i wouldnt go to another hospital for delivery ive had my 3 youngest children there and i have not been disappointed

Kamryn Bliden

Bad attitudes and incompitent billing department, for the last two years we fought billing to charge our insurance. They never have and now i am getting a call back saying its all on me because its been so long. Well it wouldnt have been so long if you guys did your jobs...

Dominic T

The good: - Nurses - Doctor The bad: - The lady at the front desk of the birth department is a witch - The department that takes your info and pushes it to outside agencies messed up the name of my daughter and I paid for and received incorrect birth certificates and SSN cards. When I called the hospital, the spelling of my daughters name was correct in their system and on all our receipts but they mis-typed the name when sending it to the AZ state department and the SSN department. They wouldn't accept blame, issue a refund, or help me with the mis-spelled name on my SSN card. They wouldn't just admit that it was their office that caused the issue and then didn't accept the responsibility to follow through and fix the problem.

Melissa Rodriguez

This hospital has horrible communication among all nurses and doctors. My mother was in here for 5 days and after 3 days of needing the same tests, I finally lost my cool and said something. They changed their diagnosis 3 times! I am going to start with and elaborate on each issue...First and the most obvious sign that they are unprofessional and they have issues that need to be addressed...the Doctors didn't come in ready to do a round. They didn't review any tests results before walking in so if we were waiting for a response...we had to entertain the same dam questions they asked the day before and if they had the tests done...THEN they said they hadn't seen the results and they would look at them and come back! Thats like saying that you walk into a presentation meeting and then say that you will come back to present later! What the heck! Next...I heard them saying the system was glitchy and tests or doctors notes had disappeared between shifts. After that things moved as fast as a TURTLE! They ended up cancelling the tests and the nurse said things that completely conflicted with the message the doctor shared with me. The next day my Mom needed Medicine and they didn't get her medication before she ended up going to the restroom and throwing up. Most night nurses were ok, they felt my frustration and were the ones that got anything done. On one occasion, one nurse was odd...that was a minor thing. Last...when discharged they signed her paperwork and then after the nurse came back and said she was missing one paper so we needed to wait...after I had gone to move my car to the loading dock!!! Are you freaking kidding me!!!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN, AND HOPEFULLY NOT YOU EITHER! AT LEAST we DIDN'T HAVE HOSPITAL CAUSED STICHES LIKE AT LEAST 2 OTHER PATIENTS THAT WERE MY MOMS ROOMMATES DURING OUR STAY.

Morgen Neiheisel-Chase

After taking a fall down the stairs, my knee hit hard tile. The pain wasn't getting better after 9 hours. Due to my insurance I had to have a referral from my primary, who was not in office. I was told to go to the ER by the nurse hotline. Showed up here, waited for a long time, with no one but me and one other woman. They took x-rays, even though I said that "I am sure" it isn't broken or fractured, but that I felt it was ripped (as it was very wobbly and hard to stand on). Asked for a CT, something that most ERs do, because unlike an MRI they are quick and take about the same effort as an x-ray. The difference is a CT can see tears, infections, tumors, etc. They told me again, they were only going to do an x-ray, and I should have left right then and there! After another hour and a half of waiting in a ER all by myself they said "no broken bones". Went to Dr. next day, was able to take an appointment early morning for a scan at a Diagnostic Place. Multiple tears in three different areas around the knee, grade 2 & 3 with a separation. These people at this hospital are utterly incompetent, if you are injured, please go somewhere else. You will not get top quality or even mid-quality care here.

Michelle Bandin

This is the best and only hospital I would consider going to. I feel safe and comfortable here.

Jenna Graham

Great concierge staff, but I've been waiting 2 hours in the outpatient area. They were supposed to bring my daughter and I back to see my husband before his procedures, but they never did. They went straight on without brining us back. My husband couldn't see his family or receive comforting words before being put under. My daughter's been waiting to see her dad. This is ridiculous. I've never had this treatment anywhere else. We've had a few visits to this hospital this year. I'm underwhelmed. I'm updating my review. Within minutes of this post, I was surprised to see the hospital staff respond to me so quickly to me. I was impressed with that. Apparently, the staff did try to call me back. Their error was that they called my husband's first name only. I heard them call it, but another gentleman got up and walked their way and that was that for me. They should have called "the family of" or "for insert name". They could have even asked him for my description. The effort on the part was mediocre and so it was a miscommunication on their part and a misunderstanding on mine.

Lara Batie

I've been here 3 times in the last 6 months including last night and I received outstanding service from EVERYONE including the nurses who weren't even assigned to me The ladies who did my check in & Nurses Betty & Chad the image technicians and the Dr all treated me great I did online check in and was seen 45 minutes prior to my designated time Not one person was rude they all listened and did a great job as professionals in fact my husband even commented to Nurse Chad as he wheeled me out to my car "I wish all the people who are in the medical profession were as great as all you guys are "

mxbrand86

1 star is too much, if I could have told the ambulance to take me anywhere else I would have. 12 days in the hospital and from the start is was a mess. They put me on a dirty bed with someone's dried blood all over it. Had me listed under the wrong name and reason for being there. When I went to get xrays, they only had an order for my knee when my foot was also broken, which I told them. Hospital was severely understaffed which led to antibiotics and pain meds not being given sometimes until hours past when I was due. I had a high risk of infection break and if my leg got infected I was told they would have to amputate.. The surgeon assigned to my case only works out of this hospital and that's the only reason I have returned. I scheduled another surgery and was contacted by the hospital a day before, telling me I needed to bring 2500+ to be admitted. the lowest I was told they would accept is 75% lol kick rocks!! If you have a family member admitted here, get them out of there and into another hospital ASAP!!!

Tiffany Minnerly

I highly recommend this hospital. I was in and out in an hour. I waited an hour at an urgent care before walking into this facility. It was clean, the staff was wonderful and I felt they truly cared about my experience here. This is our new ER for family emergencies, we urge anyone in need to make this your destination for care.

Samantha Brinegar

Nursing staff in the ER was amazing. However no amount of good care from the nurses makes the inappropriate, insensitive and ignorance of the security staff ok. One of the officers mocked my wife infront of her for why she was in the ER. That right there is a sign of the lack of discipline and professionalism in the security department.

Samantha Magnuson

One star is enough. I have never been here, this was my first time last night because I just moved to Arizona with my husband and kids. I don’t know what other hospitals are a better recommendation?. Went in for abdominal pain, severe abdominal and back pain to the point that I couldn’t breathe and it was hard to talk between trying to breath and control myself. I arrived here, and was told that they would be removing my gallbladder because it was inflamed and that they’d be admitting me. The man I spoke to was super nice and concerning he was the one that told me they could work around the pregnancy but wanted to confirm it first to make any further decisions. But it didn’t seem everyone was on the same page or knew what was being discussed always looking confused when I said something or asked a question. About 1 I get to my room and get done talking with the nurse and go to sleep. Early in the morning I get told that they’re not doing the procedure that gallstones don’t often show much they can stay there. But the whole reason I’m in the hospital was because of the episode and pain I had. Then an hour or two later my nurse walks in and tells me that they’re prepping me for surgery at 7:45, so they will be in to talk with me. Next thing I know they’re telling me no surgery and then one more time that I am having surgery. The final time a last came in and said the surgeon said that they won’t be going through with the surgery, because I’m 4 weeks pregnant, blah blah blah everything they said was all over the place and confusing. No one told me what to do if it happened again and gave me a numbers to follow up with on getting it removed. I’m scared the pain will come back, they really lack organization when it comes to being on the same page with everyone and their patients. This was the most awful experience.

R

I had a family member in the teams center. I was talking to a member of the trauma team his name was Kelly Anderson. He is the worst, very worst, most worst. You need to be rid of him. Terrible attitude, terrible about being courteous, 100% rude and not helpful and understanding about issues u may be having. He seems to be a person that should never be aloud to touch a human in need he is a very selfish acting talking person. I will make sure to tell all my friends and family about this man and where he works so they will stear clear!

Jenny Cortez

Leaving the hospital so disappointed still in pain feeling sick with white cell count of 23 but no big deal wow. And they didn't even offer wheel chair when was all dizzy with all the meds they discharged before my ride was even here and put me on the lobby you guys think it's easy to be going every time it's so much money. If something happens to me that will be this hospital fault.

Michaeline Caroline

The ER portion of this hospital seems to be very quick. Each time I've had to go into the emergency room they've been ontop of things.. however, on Friday morning I was told I needed to have an emergency surgery on my gallbladder which meant I got transferred to their inpatient hospital wing. The beginning was great. They started strong with an excellent RN and technicians who came in and checked up on me and truly listened to what was going on. After that it felt very down hill. For 4 hours I had been asking for something to take for my migraines however no one kept me in the loop and I didnt get anything until it was too late and I was already going in to surgery. Also, I kept telling them that I could not afford the surgery and they repeatedly told me that their would be an Acess representative who would come in and get me squared away and applied for emergency access. Fast forward to Saturday evening, a while after my surgery a social worker comes in and tells me I can go online to apply. I have already been trying to do this however it was complicated and was then trying to get into the physical office. I am livid.

Nicole Dorfmeister

Went in with shoulder pain and a lump on collar bone very painful, they don't care about ur pain. I sat in freaking chair not even a recliner, a uncomfortable chair waiting for my results. They didn't ask If I was in pain,u sit in front of everyone and everyone can hear everything no privacy what so ever.. I have to pay 250,for nothing they didn't even give a sling. Terrible I won't be back

Breezy

Rude doctors and unprofessional. Very RUDE. Dischared me still in excruciating pain. They couldn't wait to get me out of there. All they do is chitchat and talk about their life to eachother while people need help. Would give a zero if I could.

My Girlfriend and I went to the ER at Abrazo west last Wed Late night 5.29.19 for a painful injury she had. We used an electronic check in online before we arrived and from the first worker a lady at the ER window to the “intake” nurses everyone was helpful decent seemed to care. When we got inside again pleasant helpful and we had a P.A. Student and another P.A. which was fine both very on top of things and anyway my Girlfriend was taken care of and soon out of pain. So I wanna thank the staff Frances G, Lisa and all the others, because she left out feeling much better than when we arrived. Thx

Andrea Estrada

We had a pretty good experience at Abrazo West, the ER and ICU nurses were fantastic, especially the ICU nurse, she was very competent, empathetic and reassuring. She also had been through a similar situation to ours and gave us a lot of useful information. Once we were moved to the 5th floor we also received great care, however, those nurses seemed pulled in all directions. Their hospital mobile phones rang constantly and while trying to provide care they were addressing other situations at the same time. We would have liked to see more from the doctors, we had asked for the Neurologist to call us because after several days of staying past 10 pm we still had never seen him, we never did get a call from him and only saw him once and he didn’t explain our options and seemed to want us to make a quick decision without knowing our options. It was important to us to have direct communication with the doctors because our loved one was not able to communicate. Again the nurses did a good job explaining our options.

Jennifer R

I have been here a few times with my mother. The emergency department staff has always been great! They have been attentive, caring and dedicated to finding out what's wrong. We have also experienced the surgery department for day surgery and they have also been great! It's great that they keep you updated with what's going on with your loved one. My mother has been admitted a couple times and the nurses and staff in the regular part of the hospital have been pretty good but could use some improvement.

Perla Munoz

If I could this hospital no stars I would!!!! I was in the ER department last night for 6 hours and I was literally only checked on about 2 or 3 at the most, while everyone else around me was constantly checked on and were being comfort. I felt discriminated and humiliated. I will never ever be back to this hospital.

Joe Black

P A MCKENZIE WOOLSTENHULME,and Dr. Ricks I saw today in the ER were phenomenal in their craft. I did misunderstand one thing but the lovely PA WOOLSTENHULME was more than compassionate in explaining it to me . Thank you both . You eased my worries -Eric L. Smith .

Pamela Conway

Nurses in ICU were amazing and friendly!

Brenda Marquez

Have had 2 deliveries at this hospital and every time I've had an amazing experience! All the nurses are so attentive and caring! Never felt so comfortable at a hospital! Best staff ever!!! My doctor, Dr. Michaels was the best! I had a few complications and he took action immediately and made me feel comfortable and confident that everything was going to be ok! Would give them 10 stars if had the option to!

Kel Qua

There was an awful, condescending doctor assistant that had the nerve to talk down on someone after they had a terrible car accident because they thought they may had a concussion. "WHAT ARE THE SIGNs,HOW DO YOU KNOW." IT DOESN'T MATTER you idiot. They got their head hit 5 times during the crash and had a bad headache. Make sure they're okay and shut the hell up. Don't talk to them like they are lower than you, especially when they weren't even rude to you. Unprofessional

When my 72 year old, US Army veteran father wrecked his motorcycle, he had the unfortunate luck of being in this hospital's range. They cleaned him up and stitched his wounds, but he required daily changes of his dressings due to the severe nature of his wounds. This hospital refused to keep him in a room to recover, and instead sent him to an outdoor homeless shelter with a blanket in the 100+ degree heat of summer (I live nowhere near Arizona, so my home was not an option). He had asked this hospital to transfer him to the VA hospital, but they refused his request, and refused to even to contact the VA hospital for a pick-up, stating that they didn't do that. When the taxi arrived at the shelter with my father, the driver took pity on him, and agreed to take him to the VA facility. There, the doctors re-cleaned and bandaged what the Abrazo West Campus had done (his original bandages were stuck to his wounds, so the team worked for some time to soften and loosen those bandages), and expressed their concerns about Abrazo West Campus not helping to transfer him. The VA has many services that are easily engaged. What a shame.

Amir Smith

Worst hospital ever. If you care about your loved ones at all and you want them to be treated like humans DO NOT , I repeat DO NOT bring them here. Your loved ones would receive better care at an animal hospital. Like seriously they have a 2.5 rating!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!

Lisa Keele

My husband was admitted through the ER yesterday after our horses came running in a stall and flattened him breaking his hip. The ER staff were excellent and efficient. I am an RN of 35 years and can assure you they did a great job. Thank You!

Angela Greene

I have lived in the west valley for over 20 years and I know that this hospital has a bad reputation. I have been there on a few occasions over the years and had semi decent experiences but this last visit was excellent! I was admitted to the ER and my stay at the hospital was a few days long. During this time everyone was kind and professional. I am thankful for the outstanding care I received! Everyone was amazing: the ER doctor, the ultrasound technician, the ct scan team, the MRI team, the nurses, the lab staff, the hospitalist, the surgeon, the anesthesiologist and so on, everyone was wonderful! A special thanks to nurses, Cynthia, Rhodra, Mary and April and of course to my 5 star surgeon Alicia Mangram! So why did I remove one star? Ok I know I said everyone was amazing, but alas, yes there was one bad egg that I encountered. Her name was Dr. Neeja Dave, she is a hospitalist and her bed side manner is awful. First, she is dressed in chunky heels, tight jeans and a blouse with ridiculous long nails, um ok, are you heading to the bar? Cause I preferred my doctor to be dressed and ready to save my life if necessary especially in a hospital setting. During the five minute conversation we had before I was discharged, she spent the entire time digging in her ear with her long nail flicking wax out of her ear!!!!! Disgusting!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! Then as she is exiting my room, she shouts "Get this girl out of here!" Ok well, I am a adult woman with a name, why are you shouting? Why are you shouting at the nurses?? Unprofessional and disgusting, I would have had a 5 star experience if I never would have had to deal with her and I feel bad for the people who have to work with her. It was shocking and a complete opposite to the excellent and professional experience I had with Dr. Hui Gao, who is also a hospitalist there. She was dressed nice and professional, wearing her doctor coat and badge, was kind and receptive to any questions I had. Regardless of the one disgusting encounter, I am still thankful and believe this hospital deserves praise, thank you!

I wish I could give this place a zero. We have never had a good experience here. My husband was taken today he had a seizure. When they went to release him he couldn't even talk right and all they said was well your vitals are fine. Like seriously you have a patient who can't even speak correctly and you are just going to send him away. I'll never recommend this hospital to anyone

The worst experience my two boys were taken there with life threatening injuries my family weren't informed of there death till hours later..never again

This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to. I was given better care at a prison hospital in Florida. The doctors act like they get a bonus for how many patients they can misdiagnose in an hour. Go somewhere else. You would have better luck with a witch doctor in the swamps of Louisiana.

Congratulations you receive the worst hospital reward! My wife came into this hospital emergency room where she waited to see the doctor. The care that she received at this place was none. She laid in the hospital bed with no information as to what we were waiting for. She was given lots of jello and ameneties from the kitchen. We updated the emergency contact list and awaited for the doctor. The next day came around with no word from my wife and her phone no longer working even when given a battery pack and charger before leaving. I call the hospital wanting to know how my wife was doing. Multiple phone calls were placed to get the right department. The reason could be resolved if they listened, processed the information and then offereed to transfer and to let us know what department and then most importantly wait for us to give the confirmation before transfer. Not only did I find out my wife was no longer a patient at this hospital, but was moved and when asked why they never contacted anyone of her family from their contact request they all shrug their shoulders and say they weren’t there when it happened and that they have no information for me. Even being her husband they give you a phone number to call the Grief center for more information. Except they forget to tell you they are closed to the public during the weekend so you have to use the option to talk to an on call nurse who can not give any information about the patient. When calling and waiting for what to do next in the hospital parking lot. Security asks me to leave or the cops will get me for trespassing. I asked for what and he said I made the nurses uncomfortable. Not sure what that implies when their was never any hostility. Never told to leave, I was given the information with no luck. I finally get ahold of my wife and find out she has been trying to have them call me, but they refused and asked for them to call someone else knowing that we just had moved here and had no family within a days drive. After them releasing her after 72 hours they still refused to call her husband and sent her out of the hospital without any information to where her stuff was. My wife was traumatized and will never go back to this hospital afterwards. Really wish I could rate this a zero.

I am so thrilled to have been able to choose this hospital for my emergency care. I ultimately had to be admitted for three days and the entire team, including housekeeping, was outstanding. Thank you for saving my life!

I recently had a procedure done and had an awesome experience. Kathleen, Shane, Amy and Dr. Aftahi and especially Shannon were excellent, friendly, kind and caring. Appreciate their care and warm blankets.

So why does Abrazo have a portal system with secure messaging stating you will respond in 2 days? Left a message with the Doctor to refill meds and get no response. It's been a week. This isn't the first time. Please get your act together and fix this system. Hire someone or unplug the dang portal.

Wish I never brought my mother here. 5days later they tell me she had pneumonia when she came in. Never mentioned it before. Now she is in ICU. I'm being told to expect the worse.

I have heard many things and names prior to my own time inpatient here at Abrazo West Campus; they could not have been more wrong! Granted, 'new and shiny' has a way to grab our attention and flood us with thoughts of luxury and grandeur but this is something we need to not associate with healthcare. Since the moment the paramedics rolled me into the emergency department I was treated with appropriate respect and urgency. I was quickly triaged and sent off for thorough scans even though any stranger to the workplace could tell they were busy. Once admitted to stay and brought up to my floor where I would be calling homes and extended amount of days I had no idea that they truly would think of me as family. The sheer level of compassion and patience I was showed, planted firmly, in my mind that 'I was not alone' in this; from complete strangers, to boot! Not that I recommend a visit to the hospital to even my worst of enemies, this is the one, to make your choice in the hardest time of need. Thank you from the bottom of my heart xoxo- JH

My husband had triple bypass surgery there 2 weeks ago. *E/R nurse told us he would be in a medically induced coma for 24 hrs after surgery (LIE) surgical nurse told us this is only done to brain trauma patients *day of surgery, in the ICU, husband is complaining of pain, nurse tells me, he has to wait till 630pm. I step out of room, come back to a different nurse, MEAGHAN. Its 6:55pm. Again, hubby tells me hes in pain. I ask if he can have pain meds now.she barks, I JUST GOT HERE, LET ME SEE MY NOTES. A couple of minutes pass, i again ask, this time explaining the other nurse said he was due at 630pm, now its well after 7pm. She barks, almost yells, LOOK, IM GONNA SAY IT AGAIN..I JUST GOT HERE..LET ME CHECK HIS NOTES.. i then start crying, yelling at her about how scary it is seeing my husband in pain, scared about being here, etc. I used the words, her being "snippy" in her voice. We were yelling so loud, hubby in pain, just out of surgery was like, "girls, girls, STOP!" After a few minutes, she comes and explains she didnt think she was being "snippy" but that she "felt bad i felt she was being snippy. Not an apology, but from then on, she was more compassionate with us. *Kate the nurse in ICU decides to move my husband from the recliner to the bed. My husband weighs 250+, Kate maybe weighs 95 lbs. She drops him. No one, i mean no one informed me of this. I had stepped out for not even a half hour. My hubby tells me later. He said she didnt lock the wheels on the recliner. I will NEVER go to this hospital, refer this hospital to ANYONE. Their chairs, recliners in the ICU, rooms are sooo uncomfortable, that i slept on the bare floor 1 night, in their uncomfortable recliner chairs (that dont recline), in my van 2 nights, finally in a "sleeper chair" that I had to hunt down, for 1 night, then back on the floor on the 3rd floor. I realize this isnt about ME, but i never left his side..i feel they shouldve done more for patients family than they did..rather than lying and dropping my husband.

This place deserves no stars , I would not recomend this ED . We got here at 4pm and it's now 10:00pm and no update on my husbands MRI . We have not been check on by any of the RN to see how we are doing . All you here from down the hall is laughing . Thank goodess my husband is just here for back pain, and hes not dying . People in the medical field should treat evey single patient like if it was one of there family members. They get into this field to care for people , but all there here is for the money .

The emergency room was filthy. Floors and walls in the room we were placed in were a breeding ground for every ailment you could think of. Patient exam chit had dirt grime and weird debris all over it. Would’ve left and gone to banner if we honey already waited almost 2 hours to get placed in filth.

Horrible experience I brought my girlfriend, they called everyone in the waiting room first had I not gone to the window again, probably would have stayed waiting for a while, saw the doctor he took blood samples saying the results showed there was nothing wrong it's just her hormones go home and make an appointment with her regular doctor turns out it's something more serious and that doctor should have ran more studies according to her regular doctor. So the hospital ripped us off with $500 now I have to pay another $500 at a different hospital to get better studies, if your a Dr and you don't have passion for what you do anymore please find a different career people trust and depend on you....

Vince Hernandez and his team were amazing! My son busted his leg open and they were so helpful. They got us right in, walked us through everything and did such a fabulous job. Vince made us and our son feel very comfortable and assured us everything was going to be ok. Dr. Camarata came in and checked on us as well and was very nice and made sure we didn't have any additional questions. I highly recommend this ER team from the front desk all the way through the process. Thanks for taking care of my son!

The worst hospital in Phoenix, go here and get ready to die, 3rd floor is the worst of all between incompetent doctors and nurses, it really pains me how far below the health care line this hospital is.

aaron jackson

The doctor was very nice but the nurse was very emotionless and uninterested in my mom's care so much so she sent my mother home without removing the IV out of here arm. I had to remove it myself once I got home.

My visit was absolutely horrible due to the PA's attitude, lack of concern and obvious discriminatory NON_treatment of me while I was there. I scheduled an online in the ER at 8:15am on 1/22. I chose this route because I came to Abrazo in early December with what I was sure was kidney stones (I had surgery for them previously) When I went in December I was sent home (no MRI testing, scans or any blood work) I was told that since my urine was normal I would be alright and to come back if the problem persists. I REQUESTED them to please do a scan to be sure since I was there and was told they didn't want to use radiation on me. Fast forward to Tuesday I got there early and was taken straight back to triage G8, I was the ONLY person that was back there although there were others in the waiting room. I advised them that I had been there for the same thing 4 weeks ago & was in a lot of pain. I was back there for about 20 mins then the rooms began to fill up. There was a person next to me on both sides and adjacent and across from me.... everyone had kidney stone complaints except across was gallstone complaints. I was the last persons curtain the PA chose to come to. As would be necessary and as requested for EVERY other patient around me bloodwork, ct scan and meds. They came to me and suggested an ultrasound (after this being a follow up visit). I am then hearing the people around me getting morphine, being asked if they need more and are comfortable and even one patient who actually requested more meds 3 times within a 30 min time span however, they didn't even come to check and see how I was doing. I actually had to get up and ask for a nurse because I was in a lot of pain. I was addressed by the nurse as if I was a nuisance, then told that she would ask the doctor if they could give me something BUT if she doesn't come back that means she didn't get and answer, all the while ALL 4 people (with the same issues) where medicated, went to their CT, had the nurse check on them several times and were one by one being discharged with what they needed. I finally get wheeled by bed to my ultrasound because at this point I am in so much pain I have a migraine. They wheeled me back and again I was left there. An ME finally came and gave me ibuprofen and shortly after a phlebotomist came in to take blood work and put an IV in after being there for 4 hours (The IV was never used , no meds or fluids). The next set of patients brought in were being treated and discharged as well. As it was going on 1pm I went to the desk to ask of results to my US and was told they got them but just ordered a CT, however, no on came to tell me this, the results, what they planned to do next concerning my care or anything. I asked how much longer it would take because I had to get my daughter shortly. I was then given my US papers with clear indications of kidney problem and inflammation and NO ONE explained what was going on AND the PA turned his back to me and said "there's no telling". At that point I asked if they could please get my lab results, urology tests and US copy to me because I could see without a doubt that I was not in the best care and quite frankly this PA did not want to treat me. As soon as I walked back to G8 the CT assistant came. I went and Anthony was very nice, concerned and sympathetic to my issue. He took great care of me, got my scan done quickly and by that time I had to get ready to get home it had been over 5 hours. I requested for them to please hold my CT results and I would come back and even at that point was given the number to medical records and the procedure to request. This was the Absolute worse visit and bedside manner. I can't even say that this goes for every patient because those around me and the ones that came in after me where cared for very differently and were in and out quickly. So this made the 3rd time I was sent home without proper treatment. I did come later for my scans and Yes I did have kidney stones. I also called Administration in the parking lot, have not heard back yet!!
