On the whole for VA they do okay but there is just one main problem or woman I should say at the front desk if you’ve been here before you know whom I refer too, get her on the phone or at the front desk ask to talk to someone who’s competent

Courteous staff. Quality care. Exactly what the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic program is supposed to be.

The location is 100 times better than my previous location. The doc that is assigned to me is pretty thorough and listens to my complaints. I am not rushed and definitely get treated like a vet should be treated. The wait can be long. But I don't mind cuz I know either the nurse or doc will take care of my needs.

To much to discuss.

I have always been treated quickly and very happy with this location. Just can't make everyone happy. IMO

At the end of each visit , V.A. says "if you need us let us know, call or come by". I needed them today so I stopped by at the opening of the doors. I told the "suckretary" "I need 5 minutes of my counselor's time. She proceeds to ask my life history then tells me to wait one second, tells the counselor my issue, comes back with"I'm sorry...she can't see you". 1. "Suckretary " my life is none of your business. Answer the phone and schedule appointments. .that's why you have a job. Counselor, if you don't mean what you say, don't say it. Way to be there. Thanks for your time. "V.A. , giving vets a second chance to die".

I have had to change facilities several times over the past few years; & while usually for reasons other than satisfaction with the Doctors, this location is outstanding. They not only answer the phone and handle things quickly and well overall, but has a number of times been able to work me right in with no notice, & handle things so that I didn't have to make trips down to the ER in Birmingham

The nurse was very nice and very helpful. The Dr. On duty wouldn't even speak to me directly. Refused me service hiding behind a made up medical protocall. I've been to many va clinics and never treated this way by any Dr. I would not return to this place if it were life or death. Veterans should never be treated this way by a Dr. The person in charge of this clinic needs to be fired. Asap. They are just stealing veteran funds here and not helping the veterans that ask for it.

My son has already left a complaint about my husbands treatment yesterday. I just would like to follow up. You would think that a doc Dr David Bennett who leaves each day at 5:00, never takes after hours calls unlike docs in private practice would take a little more time with his patients. Even when we are at the hospital in BHam the docs take more time. My husband actually apologized to this man for taking up his time. It was a sincere apology. It was very apparent that we had interrupted this man and his doctor friend who were sitting around visiting. This guy’s picture could be in the dictionary under arrogant. We have been going to the Oxford clinic for a very long time. I guess if my husbands primary (Dr Q) is not there, we won’t see anyone else.

Medical care for our veterans is pathetic, and this location is no better. Granted, I know the doctors are over worked and see far more clients than they should have to, but their attitudes are terrible. My father spent several days in the VA hospital in Birmingham, and when released was told to follow up with his doctor at the VA clinic within a week. His doctor was on vacation, so my father saw one of the other doctors. He totally contradicted the orders of the doctors in Birmingham on medication and treatment; talked down to my mother and father like they were stupid and did nothing but send my father on his way. My father is recovering from pneumonia, has no voice and no strength and the doctor told him he was fine. Totally trash! I cannot even begin to go into how angry I am.
