I had an appointment with Nodjaha last Saturday. She starts bleaching my hair....starting with the roots. I am PRETTY sure that every bleach I have ever bought, and everyone I have ever known that does hair lightening, and just about any instructional videos you can find, will warn you "DONT PUT BLEACH ON THE SCALP! DONT RUB IT IN AND STAY AWAY FROM THE ROOTS UNTIL THE VERY END!" So she does the roots and all...then goes on to do the rest and like...really feels like she slathered the bleach on my roots but is skimping out on the rest of my hair. I couldnt see it well though so I didnt think too much about it. Figured if its not lightened enough she will lighten it again. Halfway through, my scalp is on fire. Shes got my hair all stacked up on top of my head in a pile and Im like "hey can we like move the hair or something? Can I have a glove to touch my scalp? It really hurts. Its burning" and shes like trying to excuse it like "it does itch sometimes" and Im like NO ITS PAINFUL. She gives me a comb to scratch my head with. So I asked her to move my hair. She finally does and says "Oh gosh thats really hot there!" because, yeah bleach gets hot and it hurts. so she lets some air onto my scalp and then goes back to what shes doing in the back of my hair. she gets done and RUBS the bleach in. then I sit there for like 10 minutes and shes like "oh look you are done!" she washes out my hair and the top of my head looks ok. Its a little yellow but thats unavoidable because my hair was really dark to start with. I didnt have my glasses on and I didnt see the back. Apparently she missed. a. lot. so she starts putting the pink in. Starts with the roots. again. totally slathering it in. skimping out on the middle/ends of my hair. I can tell too because even without my glasses it looks NOTHING like when I do this myself. I can see the blonde through the dye is how thin it is on my hair. She keeps saying "oh no I dont think there is enough" but like I said I do more hair with one pot usually, and on top of it my head is shaved on one side. Then she gets through the top part of my head (rather poorly) and when she does the entire back of my head she just scoops it out of the pan and puts it on the whole chunk of hair. no separating. No even spacing. just dump and comb through. At this point Im like really really hoping that it soaks in more than it LOOKS like it will. And being under the dryer might help because heat makes it brighter. I get out of the dryer. I get it rinsed out. NOPE STILL BLONDE SHOWING THROUGH. I point this out. "Oh no its definitely pink" like I cant see it. Its streaky and patchy and horrible. she offers to dry my hair and see if I like it, so I agree and let her dry it even though I know that wet hair looks darker than dry hair. As expected, still blonde and patchy. I also point this out. She continues to argue with me "WELL I THINK ITS PINK" she even tried to tell me that the dark spots look "burgundy" which they dont. I told her that I didn't really like it, but that I would sleep on it and come back later if I needed her to fix it or give me a refund. I paid her $80 cash. When I asked for a receipt she says "oh I would have to hand write that..." And I say thats fine. I need it because this is a business expense since its for the convention. SO SHE WRITES IT DOWN ON HER BUSINESS CARD. Good thing I took selfies during the process and put them on instagram. Just in case. Well I slept on it, and I see more and more how awful it is. I went back for a refund today and she took up this horrible attitude as soon as she saw me. Absolutely argumentative and belligerent. I started off just asking her for a refund because its not what I asked for, and she went straight into how I came in with damaged hair (which is a lie) and that she did exactly what I told her (obviously a lie). I told her this is NOT what I would consider $80 worth of work and she gave me this triumphant look and said "Then you shouldn't have paid huh?" So I guess don't pay until you sleep on it here. Or better yet go elsewhere.
