I had my first visit to the salon yesterday. The front desk staff was friendly enough, but the service I received was not excellent. I'm new to the area, and this was the closest Aveda salon I could find (I like to get the Aveda points, so I'm a loyal customer). I made an appointment ahead of time, but they called twice on the day of my appointment to reschedule; One of which I could accommodate, the other I couldn't. When I scheduled I requested a cut, mani, and pedi, but was told there wasn't enough time for the pedi so I decided to proceed with the other 2 services. When I got there, my stylist thought I was doing all 3, and I hadn't budgeted enough time for all of them.
My stylist wasn't very friendly but attempted to make conversation-- being new to the area I wanted to know the good places to go, but she bad-mouthed the area more than I expected. I requested a trim, and mentioned that I was liking how long my hair was getting and that I have never had it this long before. When we talked about amount to take off, we settled on 1", but I feel I ended up with much more taken off, which I wasn't pleased with. It seemed like she had a hard time "evening" both sides, which I think is why it ended up much shorter (about 2"). My stylist was also my manicurist, and while she did a great job shaping my nails and asking my input on length, she didn't get the polish near my cuticles, so it looks like I am 5 days into a manicure instead of it being fresh. Needless to say, I wasn't happy with the personality and service I encounter at this location, especially for the price-- I won't be back.
