I've had my haircut and color here about 3x over the past two years. I've had a different hair stylist each time but they've all been talented, friendly, and considered my needs. The salon is spacious, clean, and sophisticated. I normally go in the morning so I get free coffee but there's also complementary wine. Service can be spendy but worth it!

Kelsey has been PHENOMENAL, I feel like I've finally found my hair stylist who actually listens to me and understands what I want. Shes always up to date on new techniques. I love how elle marie has continuing education. For being a bigger small company, it feels so personal and comfortable. I have nothing but incredible things to say, and I have had no issues with any other stylists I've worked with. Kelsey just puts up with me and my partners requests! I am so happy to have found Kelsey and this salon. Customer 4 Life!

I had madison cut my hair and do a deep condition that ended up taking 2.5 hours to do. I am a pretty laid back person and I dont have crazy high expectations but I do expect if I ask for a certain hair cut to get that hair cut. Everything I asked for seemed to come out the opposite. And towards the end I was so exhausted from requesting things to be fixed, I just wanted to leave. I hope she finds clientele that will be better suited for simpler hair cuts.

Had partial balayage done by Emily who said to wait one week and see how I like the color and if I have a need to fix it, let her know, she's be happy to do it. Within one week, I've contacted the front desk who said that they will leave a message for Emily and to wait for someone to call back. Three days later, Ive contacted the front desk again and they had no idea what I was talking about. So they took my message for Emily again and again told me to wait to be contacted. Almost 4 months later, no one called me. :) I don't waste my energy on arguing so I left them be. Extremely disappointed, hence this feedback.

DARIA literally ruined my hair... she cut about 4 inch of my hair and it look horrible! It was just ok when I was at the salon, but 5 hours later when I got home, I noticed how terrible it is. She make my hair too thin and uneven. Now I don't really know what to do and really wait for my hair to grow back... Usually I grow my hair long, but this time I want to do something different so I want to cut it to shoulder length. And it's the worst decision ever! My expectation at this salon was very high since my friend recommended it. But Daria ruined it all. Later I found out she's only Level 1 stylist, should've known it earlier so that I never let her touch my hair. Not to mention that my experience with her was very awkward, she seemed unprofessional and the way she handle the scissor was weird. I'm really sad right now, feel like I'm treating my hair in a bad way... when I got home and found out how terrible my hair cut was, I literally cried. Never come back to this place again!

Let me preface this by saying I usually love Elle Marie. However my recent encounters with the salon have been close to abysmal. Between turnover of two stylists I've been scheduled with, a lack of notification when such things happen, and time allotted for appointments not correct, I'm sad to say I will be taking my business elsewhere. I've had much better luck with other locations of Elle Marie than I have with the Alderwood location.

I appreciated a last-minute appointment and the style really was pretty solid. I esp appreciated the stylist consult (I think I had Christopher) - giving me a reason for why layers would not be helpful and providing alternative suggestions. My only issue was that I requested only 2 inches(ish) be cut off but it was much closer to 4-5 by the end. Again, good cut but much shorter than we chatted about prior (I told him I was growing it out to donate but wanted shape).

I recently went to Elle Marie Salon and had my hair done by Sydrah. I’m very picky with my hair, but she’s styled a few of my friend’s hair; so I set my appointment with her. She honestly deserves 10 stars. Her customer service was so above and beyond. She listened to everything I said I wanted, and the results came out even better! I had dark brown hair, and I wanted a bailage to lighten it up. She was fast at applying the lightener to my hair, and she didn’t “fry” my hair. I also told her that I’m trying to grow my hair out, so she trimmed off only what “needed” to go. My hair is so beautiful! The color is perfect for Spring time, AND still feels soft and healthy. This is the happiest I’ve been with my hair in such a long time. Thank you Sydrah, you really did an amazing job! I think I found my stylist for life!

Not The worst, but it's definitely not a place that I would return for any hair service. They told me that The cost would be $35 and at check out it was $60! For what??? All they did is wash blow dry and curls that were absolutely the worst. A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY A RIP OFF!

My husband booked me for an 11:30am appointment with Amelia on a Saturday. They called at 10:45am to inform me she was running late and that 11:45am would be a better time to show up. I arrived a few minutes early and waited until 12:05pm with no further communication about when Amelia would be available to actual cut my hair. I left as I saw this as poor customer service and communication skills, along with the possibility that the hair dresser is having troubles and wasn’t going to risk a chop-job.

Favorite place to go. Never found a better hairdresser than here. gotta schedule months in advance, because they're always full. if we tell them in advance we're prepping for an event, then sometimes the super nice stylists will sometimes offer on one of their off days to help you. It's an amazing store with amazing staff. Every time I go in & get a new style they take my hope of a cool cut, & make it way better than I could have imagined & I walk out actually turning heads. :) ♡ I'll never need another salon. ^-^

Ronnie took his time getting to know what I wanted for my haircut and color. He is straight forward, much appreciated. I wanted to cut and color my hair at the same time, but Ronnie wanted to do my color right. So, we made a separate color consult appointment. He gave me homework for our consultation. At the consult we will see how my black hair will respond to lifting the color out. From there Ronnie will help me pick out the best purple-red. Ronnie also guided me on my hair cut based on my face shape and hair type. He also gave me tips and tricks for styling my hair. I'm not the best at styling my hair but the tricks he showed me are simple and quick. I am pleased with my haircut and happy with the change in hair style. Thank you Ronnie, I look forward to working with you. The Elle Marie hair studio experience was luxurious. They hung up my coat in their closet and offered me a black thigh length robe to cover my clothes and still used a black cape cover me during my hair cut. The salon is very stylish and professional. I look forward to going there for all my hair care needs.

Kelsey is my girl! She does a BEAUTIFUL balayage! I came in almost 5 months ago and she gave me a beautiful cut and full balayage. Came in today and chopped off my hair and freshened my balayage. She does such a good job and the color grew out so well that we only had to do a partial balayage to freshen it! This was my second time going to her cause I had such a positive initial experience. She is my go-to balayage colorist. I even asked for an ash-blonde and she GAVE IT TO ME! Came out so beautiful. This is the gal you’re looking for!

The curled hair shot was when i was leaving the salon. The straight one is well when i showered and got the curls straightened. Im not a hair artist, but i dont think this is what a balayage is supposed to be. 2 stars bec i loved my curls leaving the salon and stafd were friendly, but i wish i had it done with someone who can actually do good balayage. I’m a regular. I started in Lake Stevens with Megan who is terrific and when I asked for a perm, I was referred to Ericka in Lynnwood for her skill with perms and long hair. The salon is always kept clean, the ladies and gentlemen who work there are always warm and friendly. Ericka is always ready for my appointment on time and we spend the couple hours catching up on current family events. They provide a welcoming ambiance with fruit infused water, tea, or wine. Plenty of magazines and room to stretch while waiting for hair treatments to set. Most importantly, my hair always looks amazing when I’m done. Today they received King 5s best of the NW award. Awesome! Way to go Elle Marie ladies and gentlemen!

It was my first time to have a haircut in Elle Marie. Madison is nice but I think she lacks experience. I wanted a haircut like a bob cut but it became a “spongeBOB the squarepants” -so square. I showed her a picture so she will have an idea of what kind of haircut I wanted. I thought she can do it but she didn’t make it. I don’t usually offend or intimidate people so I just didn’t make a scene. And, it was my birthday, I didn’t want to spoil my day. My hair got ruined. I think she doesn’t do layers well. It wasn’t that bad when I was in the salon but when I got home, after I showered my hair, I realized how terrible my hair looks now. It was so uneven especially the back part. It is the most terrible haircut I ever had.

Today I visited this salon for the third time. My experience with my stylist I enjoyed and she is the reason that I came back, but when I went to pay my bill today I was shocked. The last time I went there I paid $264 ($211.20 and 52.80 tip) for a full balayage and a long hair cut with 20% tip included as I always give Kari 20% because I like how she colors and cuts my hair. My surprise today was that I paid $249 ($209 and $40 tip) for a partial balayage, long hair cut, 1 toner or gloss, 1 add color. I can not understand for a partial balayage and cut which is what I scheduled my appointment for, what is the additional $45 for the toner /gloss and add color that they added to my bill was. How can a full balayage and a partial balayage cost the same? It seems like it is a $200 minimum for someone to get their hair done here. Also I see on the receipt something about loyalty points, no one has ever mentioned this to me and I have been to the salon 3 times, every time paying the amounts above I should have some points logged in the system. Seems like a lack of communication and bad customer service. And lastly today I entered the salon at 9 and didn’t leave until after 12. My stylist started to attend other customers and took an extremely long time to return to finish my hair styling, I was waiting more than 1hr. With all this said the Elle Marie hair studio in Lynnwood just lost a customer, that was extremely happy with the services until today.

This is my go to place for anything to do with my hair. After years of bad hair stylists I've finally found this place and it is worthy of loyalty. I've made appointments with Anna and Jessica. Their prices are reasonable for the care, skill, and treatment they provide. They have always made me feel welcome. They are also willing to have fun and do crazy colors or challenging cuts! Last time I was in I went from flat, no texture, fading box dyed red hair to super volume with lots of layers and texture and black all over color with a hint of dark blue (and later purple) underside to my bangs. They offer free bang trims if you get bangs cut during a session and friend referral discounts to your account. I have always loved visiting here and will do so as long as they stay!

First time to Elle Marie and went in for a cut and all over color. Was persuaded into a Baylage but to my error we never discussed price. I paid $239 before tip for a level 2 stylist. I have no clue how that got so expensive. I was never quoted a price before we started and looking up at prices online the $ doesn't add up. I did really like the cut though and if I had picked a lighter color it would have turned out nice.

My hair is definitely more beautiful and probably more healthy after visiting Natali. I originally wanted to bleach and tone my hair, but I ended up getting persuaded into getting rooted out, toned, and getting my hair cut and curled, since my hair seemed very dry. After seeing the results, I trust them in their knowledge with hair, I just hope to get what I originally wanted eventually. It was a lot more expensive than expected (I checked price estimates online), but they give you an estimate upfront before doing anything to your hair which is nice, and you get what you pay for. Natali spent almost 4 hours on my hair alone and she did a fantastic job fixing my brassy, bleached hair that I received from a different salon and hairstylist.

Angela did a corrective color on my hair after I turned it purple/red with a home box color. She was able to remove a lot of the product and then color it a wonderful red without using any bleach. I am super happy with my new color and will definitely schedule with Angela again! The receptionist was also very friendly and helpful.

I have been a couple times now, my cut from Madison was AMAZING and the grow out has not been rough at all. I had not had a cut or a trim in over a year when I saw her and she helped make my hair SO HEALTHY!!! Went back a month later and had a wash and blow out with a different stylist for a week end get away and it turned out GORGEOUS! My husband loved it. All of the staff a friendly and really make you feel at home as well as give you the feeling, not just impression, that they really like where they work and what they do!

Unless you are Caucasian, DO NOT GO HERE!!! They don't know how to cut your hair straight, without stands sticking out, and, no matter your natural hair color, they WILL DYE IT BLACK! Two years ago, I started going here. First, I had the assistant manager, Kari do my hair. She started by dying my hair black, which it is not naturally and not what I wanted. Had to wait for my next appointment, 3 months later, to "get it corrected." Only to get my roots done darker and my haircut not even. She claimed the hair was lighter and will do a permanent (this was a temporary dye) lighter highlight next time. 3 months later, I had to point out the uneven stands again and had black hair. I was sick of this and was going to leave. I had spent hundreds to have her finally say that the only way to fix it was to bleach it and she had kept dying my hair black! A friend recommend a different stylist at the same place. The stylist was surprised at how badly my hair was cut and I finally left the salon feeling great! Stayed with that stylist for the past nine months. I walked in for my appointment today to find out that my stylist had quit and I was not notified that my appointment was cancelled! They first claimed that they didn't have my number. After telling them that they never had a problem reaching me before, they tell me I must not have given my number when I made the appointment. I tell them I've never had to give my number for a following appointment because I make it at the end of an appointment. Then it was more excuses! I had been a client for about 2 years and that was it! A fifty dollar credit is chump change to what I've spent at this place! Done!

My husband had surprised me the day before our 6th-year anniversary with a spa day which included getting my hair done. I have virgin black hair and he knew I do not trust anybody with my hair. And so, he did his research for a trustworthy place and Elle Marie had great ratings and so, he called to talk with someone who would be really good with their work. Even with telling the gals that this was an anniversary gift, they allowed me to walk out of there with Copper-Brass-Orange hair. The goal was Bayalage from my natural color to smokey gray to platinum white-silver. They told me that it would take 4+ sessions to get me to that color-even with Virgin Hair (this was stated during bleaching). As hair is not my profession, I get it. But as they washed my hair they kept saying how well my hair was bleaching and that it would probably take just one more session. I was excited. But... In the the picture: shows the progress of my natural hair and what Elle Marie Hair Studio did in 5 hours turning it to a nice solid bleached color and then to Copper-Brass-Orange hair, because of the improper judgment of toner. If they got my hair bleached to that color, why would they go darker in toner? The last picture is a fix-save from another Hair Salon in Vancouver, WA - Hadassah Salon & Spa - where they only took 3 hours to fix, getting me to the platinum silver as much as possible without ruining my hair. Yes, there is still blonde in my hair because of the chemical used at Elle Maries's. But it blends well with my hair in which you can see a major difference in work. I also asked for drastic layers, and Elle Marie only did facial framing and called it "really well layered". Again you can see the comparison in the bottom photos. When my husband called to let Elle Marie know how we felt about the color, this was the response, "We train our hair stylists to color in sessions." Meaning, my first session at $300+ x4 = 1200+ dollars when, Hadassah Salon and Spa got my hair colored in 3 hours with bleaching, and layering for NEARLY HALF the amount of $300 and my hair is not damaged at all, what-so-ever. Why this review? Because I had to enjoy my 6th-year anniversary feeling like Garfield the cat. Almost not wanting to go anywhere because Copper-Brass-Orange-Hair was not cute with any of the dresses I wanted to excite my husband with on our special day. Also, for those who are like me who do not just trust anybody with their hair, I do not want any of you to experience what my family and I had to. Thank you all for reading. I wish I could keep it shorter.

I had my hair cut by Ronnie last Sunday and I paid $65 including tip. He seemed really knowledgeable and was able to explain how my hair would react to bangs...so I am really confused as to how he screwed up my bangs so badly. They look awful. When he first did them they were in a weird uneven triangle shape off to the side. It's like he picked where he wanted my hair parted and went with it, not bothering to ask me how I usually styled my hair or make sure it was even. Or maybe he realized he screwed up and stopped. I went back in and had Jessica make them even (thank you, Jessica!), but they still look horrible - not Jessica's fault. I showed Ronnie 2-3 pictures of the bangs I wanted. They were wispy bangs. I somehow ended up with bangs that use about 80% MORE HAIR than I wanted. They start super far back on my head and go really wide. It looks like I'm a 5 year old in the late 90s and my mom cut my bangs. It is not good and I've been obsessing about them for the last week. I feel hideous and self conscious. I don't even know what the rest of my haircut looks like, because I've been so focused on my bangs and keeping my hair up and back at all times so I don't have to think about it (Doesn't work, FYI. Just makes me less self conscious.). So...my options to fix my hair are hate it for 2 months and pretend it's not there and keep it in a high ponytail/bun the entire time or I can get most of my hair cut off.
