These ladies are wonderful! Did an excellent job on my hair. Great price with hair included. I suggest making an appointment. Appointments are first come first serve over walk- ins. Their price includes hair unless you need a color they don’t have but they have many colors. I made an appointment 2 days before and got my hair done on a Sunday. These ladies will do Saturday and Sunday appointments if you call 2 days ahead of time. Everyone is super talented and works quickly. I highly suggest coming here to get your hair braided.

I have been going to get my hair braided here for years, various styles and lengths. The staff communicates very well with you before, during and after your appointment. The hair styles come out very nice and I always receive tons of compliments on them ( I always tell them who did it and the location of the shop). I just got Senegalese twists (for the second time) a week ago, and they were able to do my hair right after work, and it only took about 6 hours!! I even had a second braider assist in getting my braids done. I will continue to go to this shop as long as I need my hair braided.

My daughter and I came here, and we were equally impressed with the hospitality. Everyone smiled and greeted us warmly. My daughter received spring twists and a few had came out, but they said since it's a new style, it's new to them and apologized profusely. They redid her entire edges at no cost at all! Her hair is beautiful on her, and they were willing to do anymore that came out if need be, also at no cost. I received individuals and I'm very impressed with the quality. My hair is neat and didn't hurt like it has in the past with other braiding shops. I highly recommend this shop because they are friendly and treat all of the customers with a warmness that is almost like a friendship. They are also extremely talented at what they do. This is by far the best shop in Norfolk. Definitely 5 stars!

I cant say that my experience was the best first of all I had 3 heads done that day my two daughters and myself they quoted 150 for two styles and ended up changing the price to 160 after they finished not to mention that my childs hair was started then the girl just stopped braiding her hair and left the shop no one said anything it took almost an hour before someone else started it again I waited over an hour for my braider to show up when the appt was booked days ahead......lets not leave out how they are no different from the nail shops they talked about the clients in african as if you are that stupid I find that to be so rude when people are paying their hard earned money then the owner texted me at 12pm at night and said can i go leave a review you DO NOT text someone at midnight about a review all i can say is they are not what they seem my hair was nice when it was finally finished my girls as well so i cant complain about that but I am a person who believes in being professional at all times when you are running a business if you dont have the staff dont book the appts or start hair and stop knowing they wont leave with half their hair done so here is your review you wanted you guys need to do better

Absolutely love the staff, and love how long my braids last. Got jumbo box braids done in December and it’s the end of February, finally about to take them out. Only reason I didn’t give five stars is because a few of my braids came out the next day and front braids perfect size but my back braids are very smaller, I kept them pulled back so, know one could tell.

My experience at Unique was beyond wonderful the short story to my day was I went to Lady L hair braiding in Norfolk I arrived at 9 which i called the day before to make an appointment I called that morning of to confirm my appointment and Lady the owner assured me to come she was on her way when i arrived she was not there someone else had to do my hair and on top of all of that she did it all wrong so after arguing my point with them some five hours later I decided to go some place else so I called unique from google they were so nice and took me at the last minute and my hair came out super cute exactly how I wanted it I am definately using Unique for my hair braiding needs and so should you the prices are reasonable and the ladies there courteous and make you feel very comfortable I will be back!!!

I do not live in the area but I was going off of the reviews. Very punctual and professional with the communication. I was a little nervous at first only because I wasn't told a price over the phone just made appointment or payment method they accepted.. This was my first time going to a braiding shop so when I went into the shop Mame explained the process, gave me a price for the Senegalese twist that I wanted, and set me up for an appointment and I received a phone call to remind me of the appointment. I arrived to the shop at 8:45am and waited until 9:10 before leaving the shop was dark and the door was locked no response to my knocks. I get back home which is in Suffolk lol and I get a phone call from Mame advising that her sister is waiting for me at the shop I inform her I was there and NOONE was at the shop she says come back. But this is a place of business and I know you open and close when you desire, however, customer service is customer service and that is what I pay for I don't mind Paying any amount for quality customer service and being ON TIME is a part of excellent customer service. The reviews were great and I wish this company nothing but the best of luck but I take my business else where

Had a great experience at this braiding shop. My stylist whom is the owner took her time and did my cornrows exactly how the picture looked. My daughter who had a head full of natural 4C hair Had two braiders on her had and they did an amazing job on her box braids. We will definitely be returning. They also provided the hair.

This is the absolute best braid shop I’ve been to! I got my braids done Dec 23, 2018 and here it is Feb 13, 2019 & my braids are just now starting to look a little aged. I still get compliments on my braids though! Also, unlike a lot of African Braiding shops, they didn’t have a problem washing my hair before braiding it. I appreciated that! Their braids are nice and flat, neat, and secure! I don’t want to say tight because my head didn’t hurt for days after getting it braided like some shops will have you. Their customer service is beautiful & I recommend having Sophie on your head even if it’s her and someone else, she’s a doll!

I was able to be scheduled for an appointment (the following day) the same day I called! Mind you, I was a new customer... the shop owner checked in w/ me before and after my appointment; and despite how long it took to do my hair, she even trusted me enough to break for food and cash. In addition, I was told I could come back for a refresh in 4-6 weeks... free of charge! I've received a compliment every day since having it done and I am almost 2wks in now (8/6). Money well spent to keep my hair protected in this heat... thank you ladies again.

Mame is awesome; took time to give me recommendations on hairstyles that would better fit me due to thinning hairlines. She ensured thinning edges were not visible.This was my first visit since I am visiting this area. I called Mame at last minutes and she was able to get me in within an hour time period. Did not have to wait upon arriving at salon; she immediately began working on my hair. I am very happy with cornrows, full head. Definitely will come back to this salon whenever I am in the Norfolk area

My daughter was so happy with her back to school braids. Mamie did such a wonderful job. I called, mamie requested a pic of style, walked in and style came out just like the photo within 4.5 hours. This is the best braiding salon in the Hampton Roads area. The ladies are very professional and they work very fast. I was able to set an appointment a day after my initial call, and it took them less then 5 hours to do medium size box braids. I've had the hair style for over a month and the braids still look fresh. I definitely recommend getting your braids done at this place as their prices are very reasonable.
