Salon Khouri definitely provides for a nice experience in the sense that the atmosphere is very pleasant; however, they’re scheduling tendencies are subpar. My first experience with Salon Khouri was great, and I had a great stylist. I booked my following appointment with her months in advance, only to be notified the day of my appointment that my appointment could no longer be fulfilled. I was understanding even when they told me that the hair stylist that I had originally booked with was no longer available. My second experience there was mediocre, so I decided to book with the master stylist for my third visit. I was pleased with her services, however I’m not sure that her skill level really warranted such an exaggerated price difference for her services. However, she was very friendly so I rebooked with her. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make my next appointment with her and needed to make a last minute cancellation. It was then that I was told that since this would be my second cancellation w/o 24-hour prior notice w/i the last year that I’ve been with Salon Khouri that I needed to provide a credit card to put on file, and would be charged the full price of my visit should I cancel again. While I hadn’t planned on cancelling again, I was seriously bothered by the salon’s policy. I could understand being charged a cancellation fee, but a fee that amounts to at least $100... Give me a break. No salon is worth that much hassle. Not even doctors’ offices carry that heavy of a penalty for cancellations. Nevertheless, it was okay whenever my appointment was cancelled the day of by the salon... I had to make room in my day for that, but was I offered free hair services for the compensation? Of course not. I was offered 5-10% off my next visit, which amounts to a mere $5-$10. In all, Salon Khouri is a nice “experience”, however it is overpriced for services and skill level that you can easily find somewhere else for cheaper. I will miss the atmosphere, but I also prefer not to waste my money.

Salon Khouri was a stellar hair experience all together. The staff are cheerful and welcoming. Priya Clee is a color and style wizard. She corrected my previous balayage with great precision. As a stylist she is attentive and listens to your specific desires. I would definitely recommend the Dulles Landing location.

I absolutely love Salon Khouri! For me, finding a good hairstylist is as important as finding a good doctor or dentist. It took years of bouncing around and trying out new places with inconsistent cuts, before I finally discovered Salon Khouri. Since 2013 I have been a loyal SK customer and I have tried out about 5 different stylists there (mainly due to my last-minute bookings for special events/occasions, depending on who was available) and I have never been disappointed with a cut. Lately I've been going to Kamen and she always does a great job with my short, angled bob. I always feel glamorous when stepping out of her chair. I highly recommend her and Salon Khouri!

I love Salon Khouri, Fairfax and Dulles. I feel pampered and beautiful every time I go....not to mention totally at home. It is unusual these days to come across a place that focuses on professionalism they way they do coupled with such top notch services. Uniquely wonderful!

WARNING: to all curly hair divas!!!!! Never go to this place they are in capable of handling curly hair and the salon ower's assistant (who does not have curly hair) that day was quite insulting. According to her "if I has THIS hair i would never come to a salon." This was quite shocking because the salon owner, Jonathan, who handled me that day, has curly hair and he was unable to straighten my hair as well. it was a very frustrating situation from the coloring to the end result, felt so embarrassed. And, I was charged the full price $300+. Dispute what the reply may say. Sorry, but you all need some diversity within your Salon or the proper training.

I just had my first appointment at Salon Khouri today and I must say, I was impressed. I've had a couple of bad experiences in the past with haircuts, so I was a little nervous going in. My stylist Kai was not only a good listener, she cut and styled my hair exactly like the picture I showed her. I would definitely go back again. The ladies manning the front desk were very nice as well. I've enjoyed my overall experience at this salon - thank you :)

Carlee is amazing! You can check out her work on Instagram too, which I found helpful when looking for a salon. Great customer service overall and loved the way my hair turned out. Unexpected perk: the shampoo bowl chair was comfortable and gave me a massage during my appt!

I am a new client at Salon Khouri. I have had my hair done twice by Ashley. She is attentive and listens very carefully to what I want in a hair cut and color. They use Kevin Murphy products which are wonderful. The salon is very comfortable, and although it is a little pricey, I don't mind. The results are fabulous... and so is Ashley!!!

I visited the Dulles salon, in hopes to achieve a balayage look. Prior to my visits, I had been applying Wella permanent color dyes but my natural growth was about maybe 4 inches. First I went to Ashely; I don’t think enough questions were asked to get to the bottom of what I really wanted. The balayage I received looked like highlights in between my faded out color, it was a copper color. On top of that, I had cheetah spots from the bleach and the color did not lift correctly. I did not sit long enough for the color to lift. I made a call for a second visit to “correct” my hair and even at my second visit my desired look was not achieved. I think a lot of the issue in this case is that the ladies did not want to spend “too” much time and trying to do as minimal as possible. My second visit, I worked with Kamen and she only added more highlights at the front but didn’t really blend the color out with my natural root. My main problem, with this salon was that I paid for a “FULL BALAYAGE” and they only added lights to the top half of my head. They did not recommend dyeing my roots to get an even color and then do a balayage—they just did what they thought was “best” not what I wanted. The cost was not an issue to me; the issue is that I did not receive what I paid for and the job was botched. The bottom half of my head has little to no highlights-they basically placed all of the lights on the top half of my head. It’s very frustrating because I went in twice, spoke to two different people and my desired look was not met. They damaged my hair from all of the bleaching and I am traumatized from the botched job. I don’t feel comfortable visiting that location anymore because I feel like my needs were not urgent and it was all about speed; to get me in an out the door. The ladies also talked about how I returned and whispered about me while grabbing my color obviously making it uncomfortable for me to say I didn’t like it the second time because they probably think I’m crazy and annoying. I contacted the Dulles location, trying to reach an agreement: either obtain a full refund or at least half of my money back. I spoke to the manager “Janelle” and she said they would review my case. A week went by I had not heard from them, I called back; she said they were still reviewing it? After week-two, of all these shenanigans I called back, she said that the owner had concluded to not refund me my money because I went ahead to post a review on Facebook. They had not bothered to call me and let me know their decision. This is completely unfair because I had to take time from MY day to dye my hair back to dark; since I DO NOT TRUST THEM TO TRY TO CORRECT IT AGAIN. They Owners NEVER bothered to call me even though I had requested to speak to them directly. They have they have withheld my “refund” because I have practiced my right as a consumer. Their website does not say they don’t offer refunds and neither do they suggest that “YOUR SATISFACTION WILL BE GUARANTEED” if you look through other YELP reviews, other people have complained about their lack of effort, bad customer service, and terrible outcomes. The final conversation I had with Janelle was very unpleasant, she basically said they wasted their time working on my hair twice and that I was an inconvenience. SAVE YOURSELF folks, DO YOUR RESEARCH visit another salon where your satisfaction will be guaranteed and you don’t have to fight them to get your money back.

This was my first time at the salon after searching for a good colorist in the area for blondes. I found the stylist on Instagram after seeing her good work and transformations. My stylist didn’t seem too interested in me and after my shampoo was done, she was onto her other client. She seemed more into getting through as many people as possible than she did on customer satisfaction or relationship. When I checked out, I wasn’t too pleased with my color and asked what else would or could be done to get my color more bright (my hair was still a little brassy/ yellow tint) and she said I’d have to come back in. She then left the desk to go back to another client. After two days passed, I called the salon asking for a manager since I wasn’t happy with my color. I kindly asked for a redo because the color is not what she said she could do nor was the color in the picture I showed that I wanted to look like. The manager said they will redo then passed the phone onto the stylist. She then informed me that they can only tone it for free but can’t give me anymore color without me paying even more. This is the first time a salon refused to redo my hair free of charge since I wasn’t happy with the final result. The stylist didn’t sound phased that I was unhappy with the color nor did the manager. This is the most I’ve ever paid for a full foil in my life and still didn’t get the correct color that I wanted. Save your money, go somewhere you know and trust

Do not buy gift certificate from this salon. I felt it was a scam and cheated. My sister bought me a gift certificate of $200 on Aug 5 2017, the expiration date on the receipt said is Aug 5 2020, even the date on the gift certificate was dated on Aug 5 2017, the same date of purchase of the gift certificate. I first used the gift certificate on Feb 2018 to have my eyebrows done, for $20, and the remaining balance is $180. I came back December 29 2018 for the hair cut, I was told that my gift certificate is expired one year from the day it was purchased. After I showed the receipt that shows Aug 5 2020, the receptionist then said she was only sixteen years old and this doesn’t know how to handle it. I was told her manager will call me back the next day. I came back one week later, and was told to come back again to see the manager. I came back the third time to meet manager, her name Jonelle Jones, after tried to explain to me that she saw my certificate in the system, and agreed that my certificate should be valid until Aug 5 2020, promised to call me back after fix it. It has been 5 days, no call from her. Bottom line, we paid the salon in advance for the service, it doesn’t matter your system is new, the salon should honor the certificate. I felt absolutely cheated. It is not worth for me take extra trips to beg this salon to valid the certificate. I want my money back! Don’t buy certificate from this place, they took your money and ran! Will file a complaint for sure at small court. It is not material money, but it is a principle for a business to be intergrity.
