If you want a great hair cut and/or color--this is the BEST place. Over the years I have tried a broad range of salons from basic Hair Cuttery to high-end private salons in the West End. I have to confess that I am unusual: I HATE GETTING MY HAIR DONE! Always have because of my unruly coarse hair, the time involved, and the expense. I avoid it and used to go just twice a year but Legends has changed that for me. At Legends you will be treated well, offered a beverage while you're there, experience the MOST relaxing shampoo and scalp massage, all without any overdone hype, upselling, or stress. I see Maria every 6 weeks like clockwork because her suggested schedule and regimen for cut/color and care have proven to be spot on for the past year that I've been going to her. She keeps my hair gray free and so healthy looking. As Maria says "we are all about the health of the hair" here. It is true and it shows. Felicita (sp?) is another wonderful stylist that works on my hair sometimes and also my son's hair. She is kind, patient, and very knowledgeable! I have waited a long time to do this review but can now confidently claim that in the Midlothian/Woodlake corridor you will struggle to find a salon as good. Keep in mind: 1-It is not cheap but is fair for all the effort and care they give. 2-While you are in the chair during the consultation ask how much it will cost. Don't be shy about this. They will suggest alternatives if too pricey. 3- Hands down the calmest most relaxing salon to attend 4-Best shampoo and blow dry I have gotten anywhere. My scalp feels alive and my hair is silky for days. 5- you might have to wait at times because they give you good care

Family member went here and owner Maria did not follow what she wanted. Maria took it upon herself to do what she wanted as a stylist and when my family member complained Maria got nasty and told her she gave her a discount and she should have been more clear about what was wanted. A picture was shown to her prior to the styling and she still claimed to not be clear. Sad I will be telling everyone I know about how terrible the service was here.

Maria is absolutely fabulous!!! I love my color and cut (platinum color and very short cut). I called them in a panic as I needed to have a cut and color done fast and my regular salon wasn't able to fit me in. I am glad I made the call to Legends as I have found my new salon and stylist. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Total ripoff first time I went there I was charged $65 Second time they said they changed the price for just touch up and charged me $75,3rd time I went for root touch up I paid $150 . I would never recommend this place to anyone ever .I was not happy at all.

I was referred to Maria by a friend for whom she did wedding hair and makeup. I was not disappointed! Maria did my wedding hair and makeup and I have been going back to her since for cut and color (first time I had done color in over a decade and it turned out great). She gives professional haircuts that grow out nicely. The salon is very welcoming. She also did a great job on my husband's thick and wavy, coarse hair - something most places either chop entirely off or butcher.

I am thankful I found Legends. Last year I moved back to Va. 25 years since I have lived here. I know there is an abundance of salons available, however I really hate the pretentious air of some of them. I am an average person, and have no desire to put on airs when I am in need of a haircut. I delayed a haircut for a year because our house was being prepared to sell, and for a portion of that time on the market. I kept thinking I would get back to Ky and get a haircut, timing never worked out. Finally I could not stand it any longer. I took a chance walking onto Legends, (near my home) just to check out the atmosphere. The things that matter to me, above all are attitude and cleanliness. I was welcomed, warmly by Maria, she set an appointment for later in the day, and welcomed me to spend some time looking over their style books. I have worked in salons, and many times the stylists are so stuck up as if they are above such work they simply can't be bothered to care about keeping the salon clean. Legends is very well kept, tidy and clean. The stylist who shampooed my hair did so with skill and care. Maria cut and styled my hair exactly as I asked. Besides getting out from under a years worth of growth she restored style, then skillfully blew it dry. I always pay close attention to the way my hair is finished, so I can do it myself. I learned a couple of tricks, and I'll be buying a new brush. Maria did not try to sell me anything which I appreciate. I will return to Legends. With my tight budget, I will continue to make sure I have tip money for both Maria and whoever does the shampoo. I would recommend Legends to anyone.
