Kiela has been doing my hair for approximately two months. She always greets me very warmly and asks how I am doing. THEN she actually takes the time to listen to my response. Kiela also does miracles on my hair. When I came in, my hair was very dry from living in Alaska for 2.5 years. Kiela has put me on a conditioning regimen and I can see results already! I am always smiling when I leave Salon Appearance. She is always really accommodating when I have schedule changes also. If you are looking for an upscale professional climate, then Salon Appearance is your salon.

Stylist does not overbook clients, keeps each appointment individualized and understands the importance of a clients time; very little to no waiting time. Additionally, stylist will not recommend or add service not needed for your hair. These are important details when I decided to get my services done at Ms. Kelly's establishment; my time and finances are a priority and she clearly understands and priorities according.

Keila Kelly is amazing! I did a walk-in for a consultation on getting my hair dyed to blonde (first time dye).From the moment I walked in I was greeted by Keila and she took the time to view the pictures I had in mind and answer any questions/concerns I had about dying my dark naturally curly hair to blonde. This all transpired on a Saturday and Keila kept in touch through the weekend up to my appointment on Tuesday, leaving the door open for me to send her pictures on what I wanted/liked for my hair, and consulting. This alone shows how dedicated she is to her clients. Still a nervous wreck on Tuesday, the day of my appointment, we settled on a picture and the journey began. Keila did not overbook, was very attentive, and I honestly felt like her main focus. The results were amazing!!!! My highlights and cut compliment my skin color, face, etc. Keila did not disappoint! I've had so many bad experiences at hair salons, I was honestly scared, but Keila took that fear away and had me walking out of her salon feeling beautiful!!! Thank you Keila for all the hard work and your attention to detail and dedication on this head full of hair I have lol!! Love it! I will be back :)

She got my thick kinky natural hair to lay down i usually wear an afro so she did a great job. Its was soft and blew in the wind. Also during the process my hair wasnt burning!!! Black girls know what im talking about. Lol She also gave me a trim. And I almost cried from the excitement. I will definitely be back to her. She has shown how versatile my hair can be with the right knowledge. She also trimmed it. And did a great job with that. When I washed it I had no problem reverting it back curly. Kiela Hatcher has been doing my hair since I was 14 years old (I'm now 20) and there's a reason why I keep coming back. She's very warm, inviting, and cares about your hair. She won't do anything that damages it or that she's uncomfortable doing. Her salon is very modern and the other stylists are also nice. My experience was soooo great. I've been looking for a great hairstylist that could treat my hair and also make it look good. I walked in she wasn't busy and told me she'd take me right then. She was so friendly, we talked as if I'd known her all my life. On top of that, she knew what she was doing. When she put the conditioner in, my hair MELTED. I'm natural and she knew exactly what to do and how to treat it. She blew my hair out and gave it volume like i liked it and I knew I was on Fleek! I got it done on Friday and it's Monday and my hair still holding on! She will be my stylist from here on out and get this!!!! She's three hours away from where I live. So you know she's got to be worth it..

Salon Appearance was recommended to me by a coworker and I have been coming to see Kiela from that day forward. I have never seen her turn away a walk-in client. I have only seen her try to do everything possible to accomodate everyone. I was baffled by your "seemingly nice but rude" comment, and as an English Teacher, I wanted to take a red pen to your writing. Was she rude and pretending to be nice or was she just nice? I can answer that for you. She was nice and just too swamped to take you at that time. In fact, I think that part of your story is missing. I'm sure she didn't have you wait and then just turn you away without offering you an appointment at another time. I bet it is quite possible that you left before she had the opportunity to speak with you. Kiela is professional and kind. I not only view her as my hair stylist but as my friend as well. It is unfortunate for you because you missed out on a great stylist.

To Jamie S: Kiela has been my hairstylist since 2005 when I first relocated to Virginia, and it has been a rewarding experience. Rude? Kiela is anything BUT rude and has always provided me with excellent haircare and service. She is knowledgeable about haircare and a wealth of other information. She knows hair, and has always been sincere in her advisements and upkeep of "All" of her customers' haircare. Kiela has the gift of making every woman who sits in her chair feel "special". I have witnessed Kiela welcome walk-in customers and have never seen her behave rudely. On the contrary, she offers advice, and I have yet to see her turn someone away with a flat out "No, I can't help you," no matter how busy she is. It is unfortunate that you made a hasty assessment and did not give yourself a chance to experience all that Kiela at Salon Appearance has to offer her clients. Dreadlocked woman? What a negative connotation this phrase carries. Kiela's personal appearance and professionalism does not support this negative descriptor. Hopefully, you will think twice before posting a negative review about anyone else. In this day and age of technology, impulsive reactions cannot be retracted, and one really needs to think about how others can be affected by his/her word choice.

Salon Appearance isn't your run of the mill hair salon. Kiela values each of her clients time and treats us all like VIP. I appreciate her professionalism and her passion for the business. I will not speak on the comment made by Jamie S because its grossly uncharacteristic of what I know Kiela to be. But I will speak on what I know .... and that is Kiela Hatcher and Salon Appearance are top notch. Salon Appearance is a classy establishment with an even classier owner. Google should allow for a 5 star rating on a business because Kiela Hatcher and Salon Appearance deserve it!

I have been a client of Kiela Hatcher, owner of Salon Appearance for about 13 years now and I absolutely LOVE what she has done with my hair over the years. I came to Kiela after a recommendation from another stylist that specialized in healthy hair care and to this day it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Kiela is a master stylist and is able to handle all hair textures but what I admire most about her is that she cares about keeping your hair healthy! I have often told Kiela that if she or I ever moved from the area I would come to wherever she is to get my hair done and I believe that says a lot. I wish I could give more than 5 stars I've seen Ms. Kelly twice now and have been impressed both times. She runs a clean and profession.... Like the 02 al salon that is well-decorated. I am never going back here again! One of the girls (Renea Church) DOES NOT know how to cut bangs. My hair was very long and thick. She grabbed way too much hair to cut & didn't even measure on top in the middle or both sides of the bang before cutting. She just Cut! She made mine look awful. I walked out of there feeling funny because my bangs looked like a freaking Mushroom! I am highly disappointed in her. She makes me feel Regret towards cutting of my hair.. and some.
