Seriously love this place. Melissa Brooks is hands down the best. I have been going to her for a couple years now and she never is disappointing. I hadn't seen her in over a year, and my hair was in terrible shape. Blotchy, and green and dead. I left being able to run my fingers through my hair(which I haven't been able to do in months) and a beautiful all over color! The whole staff is super friendly and the owner is a sweet heart!

I am very wary of salons after a horrible experience many years ago. I had gone over three years between haircuts and was very nervous. Jessie was amazing. She listened to my fears and talked about how to work with what I wanted, and what my hair could do. My hair has never looked better and it is exactly what I wanted. I booked an appointment for 4:45 but wasn’t in the chair until 5:25. I’m not complaining too much though. I understand that the times are just an estimate. Anyways, staff was very welcoming and friendly! I had highlights done by Destiny. I wanted them to look as natural as possible since most of my hair is it’s natural color. She did amazing! I was terrified of having color in my hair again but she made it look incredible. I will for sure be back! Thankyou!

I have seen Erin 3 times now. I feel very lucky that I stumbled upon such a talented hair stylist! Erin is very creative and seems to understand exactly what the client wants (or me at least!, ha). This last visit, she mixed up a color that she thought I’d like (since the other one was not available at the time)...I was really unsure at first, but I REALLY LOVE IT. Not only does she do miracles on my hair each time I go in (In regards to both cut and color), she also has a very warm and bubbly personality. Everyone likes to be around positive people, especially when sitting for that long!! I was a late walk in. The stylist went above and beyond and even stayed late for me. Definitely worth the price (to be honest, any good salon will charge you a decent amount. If you want a really cheap cut, don't expect amazing results).

A friend highly recommended this place and So glad she did bc Hair We Are doesn't disappoint! I've had a my make up done, and couple updos here. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Rachel did an amazing job on my make up and my friends. Who she squeezed In even though she only had a hair appointment. Very sweet of her! Came back for a bridal updo with another stylist and she did amazing! Nothing but complements from my friends and great pictures. I've tried other salons and none have been able to compare. This place is amazing and my favorite by far!

I haven’t had a real hair cut in over 10 years, so needless to say, I was terrified. I got about 11 inches in total cut off to donate. I was scared to get short hair and worried how it would look, but Destiny took great care of me! She addressed all of concerns and was very patient with me. She kept going back to add more layers and letting me check first. She didn’t not do anything without my approval first and making sure I was comfortable and happy with the cut. She reassured me throughout the whole process. I now feel confident with short hair for the first time ever. The shop was so clean and the whole staff was pleasant, especially Snip the salon pup. My husband loved playing with the dog while I got a life changing haircut. Thank you SO much Destiny and everyone else at the salon! If I could, I would give more than 5 stars. I highly recommend this salon to anyone, especially those like myself that were scared to get a haircut!

No time for a walk-in yet I see a handful of employees standing around chatting. No time for a quick 10 minute, $15 hair cut? If I were management, this is when I'd step in and send employees home early for a few days. Not to be harsh, but work or leave! I'll stick to my usual Plaza Barber Shop. Better service, a true mens barber shop the old fashioned way, and they operate on only walk-ins. They shave you as well.

Really appreciate the accommodating nature of HairWeAre! A long-time customer, I drive 45 miles from the Eastern Shore every five weeks for my appointments, and it is well worth the effort. The professional staff is very welcoming and friendly; one could not ask for better service .. !!

I called four different salons before I knew this was the one for me. Not only did Mrs. Donna, on the phone, sound excited for my business she was also interested in my needs. Now you see I'm very stubborn and love my hair long but I hate getting it cut, even a trim makes me cringe. But I knew it was time. Mrs. Shanna is absolutely amazing! She was very attentive and sweet. She also had long hair like mine. I ended up leaving there with a little more length cut off then I expected too, but I absolutely adore it! It makes me feel beautiful so you girls definitely did a great job! Thank you again Shanna and Donna, y'all have a client for life!!!!!!!!!

I went to Erin for color correction after another stylist pretty much ruined my hair. I was supposed to have a fall balayage, but it was anything but. She also gave me a pretty blah, boring cut. Erin promised me I would leave the salon happier, and she delivered. We are not where I want to be just yet, but I'm confident with another visit, possibly two, I will have the hair I dreamed of. Erin just earned herself another faithful client, that's for sure! Thank you Erin!!

I have used this salon for years and I LOVE it! I have had cuts, colors, highlights and even a perm done here, and all were done right. I love Jessie for my cut and color, and Jane for my perms. A professional job at a reasonable price, with a nicely decorated shop and a touch of warmth with Sadie the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! All my family has had cuts here, and a good experience every time. I recommend to anyone!

Nothing special about this small salon in a strip mall, except the prices. They were on the high end at $18 for a quick mens hair cut and now they've raised prices to $21 for a mens Haircut? This little hole in the wall is extremely over priced, and youre not paying for the location or atmosphere.

Always friendly always fast. Corina didn't great job and wast gentle on my scalpn during the shampoo process as well as during the cutting. This has been my experience each time. When my scalp is good( suffer from psoriasis) they scrub me good and its magical and when it's not it's just as good and I come away feeling stress free till I get back to work.

I loved this place. I always go there to have a blow out and even had my hair done by the awesome Owner! They always charge me 40$ no more no less actually the owner actually charged me 35$ my hair hasn't changed and now all of a sudden I decide to have my hair done by someone different in the salon and she says because I have ethnic hair I have to pay 80$ for a blow out. So don't go here if you have "thick ethnic hair" as she said. Really dissapointed.

This salon is easily a 10/10. The owner just did a upgrade on the salon and it is top notch! It’s a welcoming environment with a built in speaker to listen to music while you’re being pampered. Top of the line products for every hair style and extremely knowledgeable about any questions you may have. The owner Jane constantly is introducing her staff to new techniques and products and train them accordingly. This is the only place I will ever get my hair done ever again. Highly recommended. !! I don't usually go to a salon because I don't want to pay salon prices, but I wanted the experience this time and I got it! I went in on a Saturday morning without an appointment, but somehow they fit me in only an hour later and I was not disappointed. I had a wash, cut, blow-out, and eyebrow wax and was out of there in about an hour. Everybody was friendly and helpful, and the ladies were talking and joking around, making it a laid-back yet professional atmosphere. Highly recommend! I'm probably going to go here forever now.

I went here for my bridal hair and makeup where the lady doing my hair would not do the easy waterfall braid i wanted, and kept doing exactly what asked her not to. Then she got frustrated and strarted ripping my hair with the brush really hard. I asked if she could get rid of the frizz and she said no, there is nothing i can do about that. She was awful, my hair was awful, i went home in tears even after having pay $125 for the horrible job she did on my wedding day. The makeup took two people bc the makeup artist could not do wing tips on my eyelashes. I will post pictures of my hair when i get them from my maid of honor who had to fix the mess the hairstylist did. I will never go back!

The first time I was there, Lillian and Shana kindly did an updo style and make up for me at the last minute for a special event. I felt like Cinderella going to the ball!!! The 2nd time I came,the owner,Jane, made me feel so welcome and special! Jane was able to give me the bestest cut and color ever from a horrible recovery at another salon. My hair turned orangey and Jane was able to give it a natural shining color again! What a miracle worker she is!!! This is the greatest salon with friendliest service in VA beach! Ive been going here many years, just make sure you are clear about the prices before they do anything with your hair. Some stylists are better at telling you ahead of time that xyz will be more money. Overall I recommend the to all my friends

I got a short blunt bob, leaving the salon I was thrilled until a few days later when I washed it and I saw what my hair actually looked like. It is obviously uneven and there were many long pieces left. I ended up cutting them off myself. Clearly there was no attention to detail. I’ve never had a worse haircut. My 12 year old sister could have done a better job.

First off, my hair lady here was Lilian Crawford and I highly recommend her. Best haircut I’ve had in my life, and the best service I’ve received, possibly EVER. I am socially awkward, but she made sure I was comfortable and relaxed! I really appreciate her! My hair was looking and feeling dull, tired and dead when I walked in, and when I left it looked better than I even imagined possible for my hair. She also listened to me when I told her I really don’t want too much trimmed off because I love my long hair and she listened and only took the amount we agreed on off (other hair places I’ve been to just chop it all off because I have split ends) Absolutely great experince. I walked out looking like a new person. I will be coming back to her when it’s time again! Thank you Lil!!!

I love the atmosphere, they gave me a mimosa while I waited, and when I walked in the owner was just leaving with her pup (Snippy!! the salon mascot) so of course I love the place. I wasnt super happy with my hair cut (it wasnt horrible, just not exactly what i wanted, but honestly I havent found someone to cut my hair and me love it in years) but you can check out all the stylists on their website and see some of their previous work. all in all, i will be back
