I've been here 3 times since I moved to Virginia. The cut was always decent but not something I would pay 60$ for. 2 Weeks ago I went in with a picture of a blonde asking for a color change and walked out with streaky 90s looking highlights that are grown out looking, at least an inch from my scalp. 150$ and 4 hours should have looked better than what I got.

I was a little apprehensive going in, because the outside of this place isn't very appealing but I'm so glad I went in to this hidden gem. They were very busy but it was worth the wait. I just got a fabulous hair cut from Cali Hair Studio by Yvonne! It turned out so good, my daughter spontaneously ended up getting the same cut the same day. We are looking forward to getting a keratin treatment to straighten her curly hair! Yvonne is very detailed and makes sure that each cut is precise! Sheila really knows her stuff! Very professional, caters to exactly what you want and amazing attention to detail. I went in with a baylayge that was mediocre covered in a red all over color and Sheila fixed me up with a stunning deep and vibrant red. The only thing I would throw an air of caution is that it is I bit on the pricey side, but it is totally worth every penny. When it comes to your hair color, it is SO very important to get it right. Thanks so much i love my hair!!

I have a couple problems with this place. I went in for a haircut. The girl that did my hair did not ask me how long I wanted it in the back. she just started cutting. (When I came in I told the main person that I wanted it to be should length so that's about 6 inches cut off maybe since my hair was way too long. He said either her or another guy could do it. I wasn't familiar with specific stylists so I said either is fine). She started cutting I asked her how much she has cut because I noticed the length was barely changed much and she said she wasn't done yet and thought we needed to talk about the length. Ok so I gave her some time and she continues to cut maybe for 15 minutes and she says she is done, but it was only cut off 2 inches in the back. I don't know how she decided on that length, she just cut it arbitrarily at a length that she chose. I wanted more length cut so she had to go through it all again and redo it which she did within 5 minutes. Later I thought how could she redo the whole thing properly and take only 5 minutes. I don't think the haircut was very sophisticated. The last time I did my hair at another salon it took over an hour for them to do the cut and I felt like it was a a lot of technique involved. It was carefully pinned up in sections and each part was meticulously cut. Not this time, I felt like it was done very quickly and not carefully, just chopping here and there so it look shorter and that's it. I asked for the same style that I already had I just wanted it shorter because the last time I cut my hair was almost 8 months ago it had grown out a bit and gotten too long. This time she basically did the cut in 5 minutes (not counting the first time when she didn't cut it to the right length) like it was just cutting without much skill involved. After she was supposedly done, she noticed some strands out of place and had to snip some more probably because it wasn't quite right and she didn't know what was wrong with it. I always give a tip anyways for any service I get so I still tipped them. I think this place is fine for a simple haircut or if you are a guy but if you want a sophisticated haircut go to a more professional salon. Even if it does not look terrible it doesn't mean it was because of a good cut. I could have cut it myself to this length and it would still look similar but that doesn't mean I know what I'm doing. ANY shorter style about this length looks fine on my face which is why it doesn't look bad but that has nothing to do with the actual haircut, if that makes sense. Also the massage she did at the beginning was extremely hard - it was the hardest scalp massage ever and it even hurt. I thought maybe some people like that and it's better for cleaning purposes so I didn't say anything about that. Also the place is located in an isolated place. Parking is very tight and I could barely park because the driveway is so narrow. I went next door to grab some food and did not feel safe. There are some sketchy people walking around. There was a guy that was staring at me as I was eating and walking out of the restaurant and I didn't feel comfortable.

I’m from NY, but while visiting VA I decided to chop off and dye my hair. I went on a Sunday ( 12/17 right before Christmas) which are walk in appointments only. I was kindly greeted at the door, explained my hair situation and was not rushed at all, and I only waited thirty minutes for the appointment. Tommy did my hair and I’ve never had such an experience. It was amazing and he is truly an artist and great at what he does. Even while washing my hair he massaged my scalp and took his time. I had an amazing experience and hope to come to this salon again!

The vibe of the salon, customer service was great,that was actually very comforting & made me not think twice to get my hair straightening done here.. I have thick, long Indian hair.. Tommy is my “golden ticket” he knows how to work it.... own it... and make it happen. I came in wanting to go lighter and let him do his thang. Full head highlights is a process of procision, placement and patience not to be rushed. On top of that he did tint in between for my greys and charted my root color to be precise on his application. Now that’s a professional right there. I trust his work and plan on being his regular client. Ladies, when you find that diamond treasure it and it will take care of you.

Love this spot for many different reasons! First and foremost, great haircuts (Sonny & Tommy)! Great with the scissors and awesome with clippers. Some of the tightest lines and fades I've seen or gotten. Both my wife and I won't go anywhere else! Hair wash standard and all around cool staff! The icing on the cake... They're the only salon open on Sunday's and Monday's I've found in the area! Appts recommend but they take walk-in. If you attempt a walk-in, I recommend trying after 2:00 P.M.

She's given Jaide back that confidence (she's been lacking), lifting up her self esteem and building her courage (for the 1st time ever) to face the unknown. That is priceless!!! I did a walk in today, and got sat within 15 minutes of getting there. Sonny explained everything to me, he and everyone else there was SUPER nice. They got my hair exactly how I wanted it and super fast. The shampoo chairs are amazing, I’ve never seen chairs that let you lay down and my neck is usually killing me while getting my hair shampooed but I was borderline falling asleep while getting my hair washed here. It was so relaxing. Everything was awesome. Will definitely be going back.

If you want your hair melted, come here! No seriously they had a fabulous way of melting off a good 6 inches of my long hair when I asked for a perm. So bad in fact that they couldn't even brush through it, they had to cut it off. Said I didn't have to pay for it (a joke if they thought I was going to). And offered me weekly repair treatments for free, umm you thought I was going to let you touch my hair again? This was several years ago, and I've finally grown all of the destroyed hair out. But I just drove by this place and thought... Ya know? I never left a review for them. But hey, they scared me into never dying, straightening or so much as blow drying my hair again!
