Worst experience I've had at a supposedly higher end salon. The stylist assigned to me was a 20 year old girl with ONLY 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE!! She absolutely butchered my hair. It is uneven on the sides, crooked along the neckline, and she textured it incorrectly, it looks absolutely horrendous. Do yourself and your wallet a favor AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! If I could give it zero stars I would.

Kayla E is great. The whole place....Great service. I mean great. I have never been to a salon that gives you a drink while waiting, a scalp massage with scented oils, a chair that massages your back while you hair is getting washed, great cuts, and a makeup touch up afterwards to brush off all the hair and give you a fresh coat of lip gloss. For the guys instead of makeup they get a warm towel facial.... Talk about a break from the world for a little bit. It was my first time here, and it wont be the last.

I have a serious lack of respect for businesses that don't care about their customers. After being a repeat customer of several YEARS (I go at least 4 times a year), and always tipping very well, I decided to part ways with this salon. They booked over my most recent appointment and weren't willing to make it right. When I told them I would go elsewhere from now on, they could not have cared less. In general, it seems like over the years this place has become 'too cool' for their customers. They are less friendly and they definitely have more attitude in how they go about their business. This is a terrific salon and very indulgent. I've been to Savina twice now with a real challenge on my head. She was great and fixed my fried mess into pretty good looking hair. Just getting a wash and cut here is like a spy day. Only drawback is the price: I can afford a great cut here but I can't afford to get it maintained here. But you get what you pay for and when I can spend it , Savina and this salon are worth it. Thanks for a great cut! In response to the owner's kind reply: At the time I wrote the first review Sevina was a New Artist. I am so glad to her of her well-deserved promotion. But I'm afraid the sad comment on the prices must stand. thank you.

Excellent first time experience at Landis with Cassie and Mia today! I went in for a partial foil color and cut. Cassie listened intently to my needs, asked appropriate questions and did a beautiful job. Her experience was very apparent and Mia was an excellent support. The most wonderful surprise was the massage chair at the shampoo bowl and the fabulous hand/arm massage by Mia while I was waiting for the toner to do its job. Soooo relaxing, as was the scalp massage by Cassie while working in the conditioner. Almost better than a spa retreat! I will be returning because of the fantastic overall experience, service and color/haircut/style! I highly recommend Landis and the phenomenal team of Cassie and Mia! Thank you!

After moving from San Francisco, I needed a new salon, so I tried the Landis Aveda Salon in Marmelade on the recommendation or a friend and my husband (who only either cuts his own hair or goes there due to the excellent service and extras like head and hand massages). The space is light and clean, the front desk staff the friendliest of any place I've been, and the products are natural and top-notch. The recent time I went I tried Ceci, and she is awesome! She asked me what I wanted, respected my fears and preferred style, but made it even better. She is friendly, made me feel comfortable, and cut and highlighted and styled my hair beyond my expectations. I'll definitely go back.

I saw Logan yesterday to have a color cleanse of my dark brown hair, Logan went to my natural color (dirty blonde) without damaging my hair. Logan walked me through everything that he was doing with my hair which was nice because I knew a color cleanse is a little different. Always love my time at Landis and the staff from the minute you walk in to when you leave.

I had a spectacular experience with Ari Eye (a.k.a. The Color Goddess). The salon environment was perfect, and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. I loved the team feel as well. Kayla Lavizzo, who is incredibly talented with pixie cuts, pitched in tips on my cut and helped with finishing touches. I've got to thank Ari again for making me look as awesome as I feel! This place is so amazing! I came here after just recently moving to the big ol' SLC from utah county and blindly set up an appointment with Brianne. I was so scared putting my faith into a complete stranger with my long locks, but she delievered! She cut my hair better than it's ever been cut, and I told her to dye my hair a color she thought would look best and wow! I was very impressed with the atmosphere. However be aware that the appointment will take much longer than a salon that sets your hair color under the dryer. Don't get me wrong the wait is totally worth it- I just wasn't prepared for almost a 3 hour appointment. All in all, I have and will definitely reccommend this place to friends!

They were so pleasant about consulting with me on the fly about how to get the look we wanted and being flexible with their schedules, so that even though I had chosen the wrong procedures online, they made it work so that my daughters could get their hair done that day. After having a bad highlight experience at another Aveda institute, I decided to go to Landis Salon in the marmalade district. Having received an amazing facial from the esthetician Jane, I thought that getting my hair done from the same location would be a good idea. Not only did my stylist (Caroline K) do a great job on fixing my damaged hair, but she cut highlighted it exactly how I wanted it (Even though I didn't know what shade I wanted my hair to be lightened...) The service there is great, I felt right at home and Caroline is very fun and professional. Over all: 10 thumbs up!

Absolutley LOVED it, there awesome with walk-in's. I really only waited for less than 10 minutes. They offer aromatherapy which is marvelous, followed by a massage. They don't only cut but also style your hair. All in all; the best salon I've been to!

I always enjoy my visits here! I walk out feeling pampered, and beautiful. I have referred several of my friends and relatives and they have done wonderful jobs with all of them. From the first moment you walk in the smell of the all natural herbal products they use is just amazing. There is none of that nasty chemical smell I associate with other salons. My friend got a perm, and her hair even smelled nice afterwards. There is some variation between stylists in personality, but all of them are professional and do a wonderful job. Caroline is my favorite for kindness and cheerfulness.

Worst experience ever. I want to get my hair cut and chose this salon and it was a mistake. The styler poker me now and then with her half- inch long nails during the washing and haircut. I told her the hair dryer is hot for my scalp. But she still used the dryer directly to my scalp even she can see I was avoiding the dryer in the other direction. I was being polite. After she did her haircut. I said the right side felt obviously longer than the left side and she said she could not feel it. Under my persistence, she cut the right side for me and said I am good to go, even though I mentioned the right is still longer. The hair is already shorter than what I showed her in the pic. But until then, I am still Ok with it. My friends checked that the right side in the middle and low layers are about 1-inch longer than the left after I went back And some of the hair projects out of the rest apparently. I made a reservation and ask them to redo it. Today the hair stylist would not willing to admit that the hair looks different at first. I need to show exactly the area to her. In a 5 min- cut, she said she is done. And The right side was still longer. She wouldn’t admit it. I insisted to let other stylists to look at my hair and the other stylists agreed with what I said. And this repeated for two times. She was inpatient and poked me so many times that I had the feeling she did it on purpose. I tried my best to keep polite. I was so annoyed by the attitude and the skills of her. Finally the hair is about 2-inches shorter than what it should be. It was such a bad bad bad experience.

For the amount you pay for a cut, you get so much included with it--it is well worth your money. I've paid more money just for a dry cut--never again! I’m so glad I came here! I let someone inexperienced cut my hair and it was a hideous disaster. I was so embarrassed. I was able to schedule an appointment online to see Jacob the next morning. Online scheduling was convenient and easy. I moped into Landis with a beanie and very little hope, but Jacob was able to salvage my mess and turn it into a very cute haircut that I feel attractive and confident with. It doesn’t look like a fix, it looks like I got this cut intentionally. I’m so happy with it. Jacob was friendly, skilled, and knowledgeable and I will be returning to him for future hair needs. I’m so glad I decided to come here!

It's been such an amazing experience every time I have come! I love the stress relief massage that comes with the cut and style, the scalp massage with the wash is always very good. Overall, I've found it to be a great deal with fair prices. They really make you feel pampered without breaking your wallet. Love the products and the ambiance as well! Mixed reviews. When I went the first time Ari did a great job. However the second time I was 8 months pregnant and going to do maternity pictures that day. They didn't book enough time on the schedule so she told me she doesn't have time to finish my hair (which was no where near done) because she needed to get to her next appointment. Luckily another stylist was free and offered to do it but she was going to let me go with frizzy undone hair. I like the salon but probably won't go back and definitely won't be using Ari again.

I've been to this salon multiple times. I love the atmosphere, the location, the scented oil massage, getting my hair washed, etc. The whole experience is wonderful and relaxing. I've loved my haircut and enjoyed my experience every time (except once when I had a really expensive hairdresser and I didn't like how she cut my bangs). I recommend finding a hairdresser you like here and sticking with him/her.

Great little shop with proven Aveda backing...I live in the neighborhood so like supporting a local business. Having gone there for years, I only stopped because my gal went back to school and I left the country. But I just recently visited and had a great experience so I have a new gals now I seem to click with! I got a haircut, style and had my eyebrows done (finally!). Great service with free massages and good advice. I even left with a new product that works much better than what I had been using for years. :)

Usually I love Aveda services, but the facial I received was mediocre at best. I’ve had better and less expensive facials in a variety of places. The esthetician seemed rushed, the room was fairly noisy with all the hair dryers just outside, and there were several long gaps of time nothing was happening. In most other facials I have had, you get a neck or head massage while things are soaking in your skin. This time i just kept wondering what the esthetician was doing...on her phone? Still love the products but will go elsewhere next time.

I have been going to Candice for about a year now and absolutely love her! I drive down an hour and a half to see her about every 6-8 weeks. I have been blonde and brunette with her and she does an amazing job with both. My hair hasn't been this healthy or full in a long time, thanks to her not damaging it with the color. I wouldn't go to anyone else or anywhere else. I have also had a facial by Jenna, I loved her style and it was one of the best facials I had received. She took the time to study my skin and see what products my skin would need and gave me advice to better my skin. The salon is very comfortable to be at and very welcoming.

Beautiful salon! As soon as I walked in I was welcomed and led back to the waiting area, less than a minute later my stylist came to escort me to her station. She listened to what I wanted, gave me a bit of advice and away she went. I was very tired after a long day of work so while I was getting my foils done I took a little rest. Very peaceful. The treatment of the hand massage and scalp massage was a added surprise. I had never been to landis before, but I will be back!

Worst experience I have ever had at a salon. They talked to me about how horrible my hair was and said that they would "do what they could for me". My hair is fine and knots very easily, it was knotted when I went but they made me feel horrible. The stylist who helped me called her friends over to look. Up until this point and every appointment since I have only been told I have healthy hair (including the appointment I went to after they barely cut my hair). After I left the appointment and cried on my way home. I ended up getting my hair cut somewhere else 2 weeks later and they commented on how healthy my hair was and fixed the trim I got from Landis.

I would post 0 stars if I could. I went to this location hoping to spice up my pixie cut, and I walked out paying $60+ for the most awkward experience of my life and a terrible haircut. First of all, it makes zero sense to offer people a glass of water at a hair salon and bring them an actual glass of water. I drank hair clippings the whole time. Secondly, Cassie probably has to be the worst hair dresser on this side of the Mississippi. I asked for her to cut my hair shorter towards the bottom of the sides of my head and have it so it fades nicely into the longer hair on top. What does she do? She pins back the top of my hair, takes a 3 on the clippers, and buzzes the sides all the way up to the hair that was clipped back. She did not listen to me at all, nor know what she was doing. I asked for someone specifically experienced with pixies and wound up with Lea DeLaria's personal stylist. To top things off, she offered an essential oil head massage. The oils smelled gross but I thought, "hey, this can't get any worse, what the heck." I was wrong. She slathered that ish on my head, massaged my scalp, and whispered sweet nothings into my ear. After repeatedly feeling her hot breath in my ear as she cooed, "shhhhhhh," (I was saying nothing) I was pretty done. Just last night, I went to a Great Clips for an $18 haircut. Good news, I no longer look like I munch carpet for a living. They were able to fix my hair for me and identify Cassie's awful hack job. In fact, she gave me a cut intended for a mohawk. Big shout out to the Bountiful Great Clips, those ladies know what they're doing. Cassie, go back to hair school - preferably one other than the less than second-rate institution I'm assuming you graduated from.

I've been to this location twice and both times it ended in a nightmare. Not only was the customer service bad but the cut and color were AWFUL. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this location. Sugar house is much better.

My haircut came out okay, simple. They massage your scalp before cutting which felt amazing. They don't do returns on merchandise (& didn't tell me that until I wanted to return, they only do store credit) and I've tried calling them to make an appointment the last 3 days and no one answers, guess they don't want my business, but I have a $40 credit there

Caroline is the best at cutting short hair! She’s creative, easy to talk with, and always does a great job. Caroline has been cutting my hair for the past 5 years or so and I can honestly say I wouldn't let anyone else touch my hair. I have difficult hair- wavy in the back, straight in the front, and several stubborn cowlicks, which I imagine make cutting my short hair very problematic. But, Caroline always does an amazing job and I leave looking and feeling great. If you have short hair, Caroline is a must! Go, you won’t regret it.

I’ve been going to several different Landis Salons for the past few years and this one is my favorite. Easy to get to, nice staff, good atmosphere and great service. All of the stylists are great, I just recently got my hair cut by Mireya and she did an amazing job. A+ stylist at an A+ place.

The salon experience was mediocre. I can say I did receive a good haircut out of the experience. It was a late appointment, so I understand the urgency to go home, and maybe having a long day of work. However, I felt like any personal touch was lost. Conversation was lacking, not that it's required, but you definitely want to feel like you can talk with your hair stylist. I actually wanted a shorter cut than I received, so I'll probably go back somewhere else, but it wasn't a bad cut. I felt like there could have been more time spent talking about what I really wanted to get out of the appointment.

I have been going there since march and until now it's been great. Tonight my service was not so great. I had to ask her to cut my hair after the fact. I have been getting the same thing done every time. My hair looked like I had just swam in a tub of grease when I left. I Had to go home and re do it myself. Not very fun after paying a lot of money to get my hair done. Really disappointing for such a high end salon.

Landis marmalade is a very nice, high end salon. every time I go I always have an amazing experience. the past few times I've gone in I've been assigned to McKenzie Enser. she is a great hair stylist. she always does a really good job and is very easy to talk to about what I like and don't like with my hair. and she not only does my hair for me, but she teaches me how I can do it on my own when I'm not in a salon.

This place is awesome. I once got a terrible haircut...not long before my wedding. I came here to get it fixed, and they did so for free! They said it was my wedding gift. Definitely recommended to everyone.

I'm usually a quick cut kinda guy. I was really impressed with the atmosphere, hospitality and experience of getting a hair cut at this place I stumbled into because it's close to my house. It was super relaxing, they actually had good coffee whole I waited. The employees are multifaceted because the massage I received with my haircut was great and so was the haircut. The great conversation throughout was a deal sealed for a return customer
