I just took my 3 yr old son to this place and the lady has showed no patience to provide service. She may be forgot that she is cutting hair for toddler. My suggestion to owner is to make sure you are hiring right people who knows how to handle kids as you are running a place exclusively for kids hair cuts.

Place looked nice enough, but we didn’t stay for a haircut. After walking in we waited at the counter for a few minutes after signing in, nobody (of the two employees) greeted us or even acknowledged we were there. A third employee eventually came out and asked if we signed in, we said yes. She said ok, we have a playroom in the back. After asking how long, she said she couldn’t tell us and they only had one stylist working. I’m not really sure the benefit of having other people working in a hair salon who don’t cut hair. After seeing there were seven others ahead of us, we decided waiting 1-2 hours wouldn’t work so we left.

My 2 year old son hates having his hair cut. I had one shop suggest he go somewhere else mid haircut. I came here after trying many other places and always having some complaint. We got Tiffany and she was amazing! She made my son feel comfortable and he actually smiled and laughed when he usually cries! She did a great job and ensured I was happy with the cut. They have screens at each station which is nice also. I didn't have much interaction with the other staff members but I will definitely be bringing my kids back here and ask for Tiffany.

Went on a Monday around 1130am and no wait! The hairstylist was very nice and worked well with my tired 2 year old. He cried in the beginning but she was still able to work. She gave him one of his best haircuts to date and he was smiling when we left!!! Would definitely recommend! They have a play area for while you wait and we watched his favorite show on Netflix while we rode in the airplane!!

Sometimes I love this place...I will find a stylist who is phenomenal and within a few weeks...a couple of months she will be gone working somewhere else... and I will try someone else and my sons hair will be butchered. It’s hit or miss.. you may get a great great lady or you’ll get a person that will cut your kids hair in four minutes and they will be horrendous.... she will dig into his scalp make him cry and then make you feel like it’s your fault. I don’t understand the turnaround of stylist at this location.

On Father's Day we took our grandson and his dad to get haircuts and the lady who usually cuts their hair wasn't there that day. Unfortunately, the new Manager cut their hair and although she was told that our grandson is special needs and has a sensory disorder. She treated him like he was annoying as he cried and fidgeted around as she insistently use the electric clippers on him. Insensitive, heartless jerk!!!! She wasn't understanding or apologetic at all!!!! We Definitely are not returning!!!!! When a Manager doesn't have a heart and patience to cut a 2 year old special needs child's hair and she has chosen the hair cutting profession. She may need to stop and evaluate if she should choose another profession. I thought of blasting lots of ugly comments, but she just isn't worth it!!!

Great place for kid's haircuts! Took my 9 yr old son and 2 yr old nephew for much needed cuts. It was my nephew's first salon haircut and he was not sure about it. He loved choosing the vehicle to sit in while he got his haircut but was a little wary when she started in. She was very patient and he warmed up and enjoyed the rest of our time there. My sister-in-law, who's from Houston, was so happy that she plans to visit the salon on future visits to our area!

Horrible waiting time. They always skip us. We've waited up to an hour and a half after an appointment to get my son's hair cut. Not worth the wait. Other than that the waiting room for the kids is great. If it had not been for the children's waiting room we would have never waited that long. Decent kids cut.

Very kid friendly! This happened to be my first solo outing with my 17 mos old grandson Lucas. The idea of taking him somewhere alone didn't faze me until we arrived at the place where I get my hair cut and there was a 90 minute wait (very unusual but for some reason they only had one stylist on duty). I didn't hesitate when asked if we would wait. We left and went back to my house where I found Pigtails & Crewcuts online. As the Southlake Sprouts shopping center is less than 10 minutes from my house, off we went. We arrived without an appointment, and by that point the ramifications of any sort of a holding pattern with Lucas was looming over my head like a dark cloud. but we only had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes. This would have been an eternity at the other place because Lucas has yet to develop an interest in watching sports on TV, but I reckon he would have loved messing around with the hair products display. No such problem at Pigtails & Crewcuts though. The playroom waiting area was fantastic It's much larger than anything I might have expected and has a fabulous tabletop train track set at a perfect level for kids.The wide screen TV was showing Thomas the Train cartoons and between it, the train table and the other toys and gadgets available to occupy the minds and hands of waiting children, we could have easily spent three time as long waiting. The styling chairs are in the shape of cars and trucks and are, I'm sure, a big hit with kids (especially boys). Lucas was particularly fidgety that morning and his taxi cab chair wasn't enough to keep him still, but the stylist we had was very sweet and patient with him. She even gave up her comb for him to play with (She drew the line at surrendering her scissors though - the big meany! :) ) The manager/owner invited us to help ourselves to candy from larges jars at the stylist's station and we opted for a strawberry dum dum that spent as much time outside of my grandson's mouth as in it and as a result, ended up with it's own head of hair. I regret that I can't recall his stylist's name but it was her first day on the job and we swapped grandparent stories so that might be enough to identify her. As Lucas is like Grandpa in hating to sit still, he was squirning the whole time and actually finished his cut standing up in the chair; with me doing my best to hold him in one place. The stylist gave him a great cut though,which was no mean feat considering she had a moving target to deal with. It was just what I asked for too. I don't see any reasom why I won't volunteer to take him for future haircuts, and when I do, I will most certainly be bringing him back to Pigtails & Crewcuts. (Note: In the photo on the left he looks a bit grim and very still, but he was actually just intensely interested in the little boy getting his haircut in the chair to his right and, in terms of fidgeting, this was just the calm before the storm. I wasn't able to take out my cell phone again until he got back home.)

It was my son’s first haircut. I knew nothing about toddler hair cuts and unfortunately wasn’t able to give much direction in that regard. Amber did SO great with our little guy and gave him the cutest hair cut! It also came complete with a photo and a tiny bag with hair clippings. Beyond impressed! We will definitely be back.

I was in a rush to get a haircut because I had to take my daughter to Wednesday night church and she had school pictures the next day. So while I called around many places in Southlake, only Pigtails & Crewcuts had an opening at the exact time I needed. Anyway, we got a stylist named Choicy. My pre-teen daughter had kind of thick frizzy hair. And she had sensory issues, where she didn't like to comb her hair that often. And the last two inches of her hair was getting quite knotted. So it was hard to comb thru her hair with a bristle brush. So Choicy suggested a special brush for her, which made it easier to comb her hair. I also got a after-shower conditioner to help with combing her hair in the mornings. But ultimately, Choicy did a great job in removing the last 1.5 in of her hair that was causing the knotted ends. And after a shampoo and conditioner, her hair looked fantastic! Thank you Choicy for doing a good job and also for being able to squeeze us in! So I would recommend Pigtails & Crewcuts for kids/teen haircuts to other Moms and Dads out there!

I have waited for 11 days to hear back from the owner even after contacting corporate and was promised a call back. I got nothing. A very bad customer experience with the hairstylist who worked the closing shift at 5pm on January 14th, 2019. We signed in at 5pm. After the stylist finished with the current customer we were skipped. I questioned the stylist if there was a reason she bypassed us. She claimed she didn't know we were there and didn't seem to care. We got no apology, no explanation. The stylist made no eye contact or offered any other solution. We felt ignored and felt as though perhaps she didn't want us there. We left and she never tried to even stop us. We have been here twice before and had a great experience. After this experience we will NOT return to this location. We felt very insignificant and unwelcome. Due to the supposed rave reviews, we drove for over 20mins plus waited for over 30 mins and wasted our time. We eventually went to Snip-its Haircuts for Kids close by and got much better treatment and a phenomenally awesome haircut for our son. Not a good way to treat customers. Very, very disappointing.

I love this place! I called various salons this morning for pricing information and ultimately decided on Pigtails & Crewcuts because the lady was so professional and courteous on the phone. She seemed to not be so concerned with just booking an appointment, but discussed with me my needs (meaning that my child is rowdy and wouldn't just sit in a normal chair at a normal salon). I took my 2-year old in for his first haircut this afternoon, and I was very impressed! The salon is definitely for children and that's exactly what I needed to keep my son entertained. The ladies were also very nice and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I will definitely be taking my son back when he needs another cut!

Wonderful experience from beginning to end. I took my 11mo old there this week after trying another local children’s haircut place and being dissapointed. We walked in and were immediately welcomed and serviced. Miss Debbie was professional, kind and more importantly patient with our little boy and with myself -as I was anxious over our previous experience at another salon-. She did a great job! The cut is exactly what I wanted. He looks gorgeous and we have gotten many compliments!! We will be back! Ps: even though we didn’t use it they too have a great play area!

Expensive but get what you pay for - which is a place that entertains your kids so they can leave with a solid haircut....and not be scared to do it again next time. I've been twice and both times had zero wait. They have a treasure chest for the kids to grab a toy after they get their hair cut. Incentives like this stretch far with toddlers. Also has an amazing play area that will keep waiting kids engaged in playtime instead of bugging you for your phone. If you want to minimize drama with the little ones, go here.
