It was my first time going here so i was a bit skeptical at first knowing that they were students. But soon after I got there I realized they knew what they were doing. I had liz. She really cared about my input and worked very hard to make sure that I was happy. I am satisfied with her output and I will go back again.

my hair looks terrible and i can’t believe i spent $77 to get this done. i could have done this myself with box dye. i have thick roots when i asked for a balayage. i cried myself to sleep last night & am currently looking for someone to fix it in an emergency.

My experience at the Columbia Paul Mitchell School was nothing short of excellent. I was shown such thorough attention by my student, as well as at least two Instructors. I found the area to be extremely clean and my student was very professional. As a matter of fact, Miss Savannah was so good that I rebooked with her. I want to have the opportunity to sit in Savannah's chair as much as possible before she graduates and moves on.

Enjoyed my visit. Loved the 80s party and music!!! First time getting a perm. My student was great and we had good conversation. What I liked the most was their celebrations for each student who completed their 800 hours. It’s like a mini graduation and cute as can be. Might want to go to school for cosmology one day.

Really a hit or miss. I’ve gotten some decent haircuts here but I most recently got a trim and noticed when I got home my hair was cut all different lengths and looks funny. Every other time I have been before the instructor has to check off on the work yet no one came and checked if my hair looked ok. You may be better off going to great clips for a haircut. I definitely wouldn’t get anything besides a trim here

I have been going here for haircuts and color for years and years. The students always do a fantastic job and the master instructors are there to supervise. Can't beat the prices! I have some great color jobs done here as well, though I don't really care for the brand of hair color PM uses.

So it took 2 hours, but I expected that. They are students and I have way too thick hair. Ms. Sanders was the teacher that was overseeing my haircut, and she did a great job at teaching the student and customer service. I am happy with my cut. It is a little shorter than I had hoped, but it will grow. Hair is a renewable canvas. I would recommend them.

Actual hair cut hours: Mon: 1:30-2p Tue-Thur: 10:30a-2:30p//6:15-8p Fri-Sat: 9:30-2p Sun: Closed Been going here for 6 years. Have had everything from a standard trim to a High Top Fade and Mohawk. Can't beat the price, they take their time (make sure to slot time for it) and you can be confident about the cut because their Instructors will not let you leave without a thorough inspection of a trained eye. Love going here, and i feel good about letting the students learn. Also, for the guys, their barber training program is open now which even offers beard trims and straight razor shaves!

I came to get my hair done during the summer for my birthday. I came for a wash and style. After my hair appointment, I noticed that my hair had smell really burnt. I had the hairstyle for three weeks. After three weeks, I washed my hair and my hair was completely straight. My hair was has never been straight when I wash it. At this point, I noticed that I had heat damage. I tried reaching out to the hairstylist who did my hair and she never response back to me. As of now, I am struggling to get my hair back to the way it was. I have heat damage and I am stuck on whether I want to cut my hair off or grow it out.

I came in just wanting a nice styled blowout for the weekend. Thought it would be pretty simple since all hairstylists no matter what level SHOULD know how to do a simple blowout, but I left with the girl just blow drying my hair with absolutely 0 style. I left with my hair a frizzy disaster and had to go to an actual salon right after to fix it. If you were to go I would suggest making sure you're getting someone that actually knows what they're doing.

Considering price and location along with he fact that THIS IS A SCHOOL not a salon, i feel it is excellent. Yeah you may get a better cut for 75-100 dollars but that is why there is a price difference. All of the students do their best to make everyone happy. Best advice, go in with a clear idea of what you want with several photos. Also be realistic with your hair. You cant make big changes in one day. It does take several hours sometimes to do color because THEY ARE STUDENTS, and still learning. Haircuts normally 1-2 hours.

Ashley Caggiano is a WONDERFUL stylist. My hair is thick and has cowlicks, Ashley is such an artist that not only does she work with them she incorporates them into an incredibly great haircut every time. She is great. Also, Jake is a fine stylist as well. They are in Phase 2 so catch them before they graduate!

Jonathan C. that works there is absolutely amazing! I had one of the WORST cuts and color I have ever had when I was first introduced to him and when I thought there was no hope left for my hair, he worked his magic and I walked out of there with the BEST cut and color I have ever had! I was always trying to grow my hair out but the cut he had to fix made it to where I had to go shorter in order for it to look like I wasn't a circus freak anymore! But the cut he did was beyond brilliant and made me feel absolutely FABULOUS and it looks amazing! The color? Perfection. For the first time, I do not want my hair to grow because I want to keep this look forever! I have found my signature look thanks to him! I have never felt better about my hair. I completely recommend Jonathan to everyone. If you want to find that look that compliments you in ways you never would have though of, go to Jonathan. I cut off 12 inches of my hair so it was a drastic change but I love it! Also since I'm donating my hair I got the haircut for free so if you're donating your hair make sure to mention it. It takes a little bit longer than most places but that's to be expected since it's a more complicated process with them being students but everyone was really friendly and welcoming.

No no no no! I went to have a balayage on my hair and it turned out absolutely horrible not only that but the ladies (yes there were two like taking turns with my hair) assisting me were gossiping and talking trash about another woman and other co workers the whole time. Using nasty language and speaking aggressively. One of them Zoe i think was her name was just being as rude as could be to me. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted and maybe she was having a bad day but everything I originally showed her she claimed wasn’t going to be done or couldn’t be done. She gave me suggestions so I took them. My hair came out FRIED and it feels awful right now I really can’t believe a shop that is supposed to be one of the best came out to be one of the worst.

It's a little nerve wracking not knowing how your hair will turn out this time because they are students, but they usually do a good job, and hair grows back. I've come here many times, and I've been mostly pleased. The color usually isn't exactly what I wanted, but the cuts are pretty good overall. The last cut I got here was perfect. I love it still. It's affordable, and it gives students a chance to practice and learn. I'll keep coming back.

My daughter went to get a cut/ highlight. She was in the chair 4 hours. Her roots that were brown had grown out about 2 1/2 inches and after 3 hrs of being "worked on" they were still brown, She asked for it to be redone as apparently the color did not take, she was worked on for another hour and now has an orange crown! she left in tears and now we need to pay a real salon to fix this. On top of this she had a groupon for this special, and was them told she needed to pay an additional cost of 16$ for who know what reason. NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!!

I just called to try to make an appointment. A man answered the phone and I asked if I was calling the appointment line or the school his response to me was this is Paul Mitchell. We are a school. Period. In its entirety we are a school.. period. And yes he actually said the word period repeatedly to me. I just wanted an appointment but he was so rude and condescending I didn't even bother I'll go somewhere else.

Being a student myself I didn't mind having a student do my hair. She did a good job and only took off the amount I asked her too. Then she had to get her instructor to okay something and her instructor just started chopping off my hair in 2 inch segments. I hate it now and am going back to my normal hair stylist. Just make sure anyone with scissors knows EXACTLY what you want and that you tell them that yourself.

I have had three haircuts from the Paul Mitchell School, all by different students. They did a great job! On my last visit, I had about 6 inches cut off of my hair. The student was a little nervous about it at first but she did a wonderful job. It takes a little longer than a traditional salon appointment, but that is understandable since they are students who are learning as they go. There are instructors around that monitor the students' work and help out when needed. I will definitely continue returning. One note, if you would like to tip the stylist (which is always recommended, in my opinion!) be sure to bring cash or a check. You can't add a tip on to the credit card like you can in a traditional salon.

In fact, I was recommended today by somebody who is interested in going to school here next year but I will most definitely be telling her that y’all have horrible service and obviously don’t care about your customers because I have been on hold for 23 minutes now so i will be getting my hair done somewhere else and also reporting y’all for your trashy service.

The owner is terrible ! I purchased a flat iron and products from the school. This was my second defective iron from them. I was told by the employee to keep my box as there was a lifetime guarantee on it bc I purchased directly from them. I did exactly what I was told from the employee. I tried to contact them about the damage iron and received a call a day short of a week later. The representative was not helpful . I went to the school to speak with the owner as I knew he ran things from when they first opened. He could careless about what his employee had told me and did not care to try even resolve my issue. I’ve been going to Paul Mitchell since they opened years ago. It’s a shame that when I told him he lost a customer his response was combative. I was told to have a wonderful day from the rep while leaving ( VERY RUDE). I would not recommend them !!! Customers are what keep you in business and when you can’t listen to concerns, You lose my hard earned money. I have sent them plenty of business ( customers) but will no longer do business with them. Again, as you can see in there response .... he is lying about someone demanding anything. Such bad business when you have to lie about what actually happened. No one ever said the flat iron was new . I told you that the representative said that it was a lifetime guarantee bc I purchased it from the salon there. ... this came from your employee not mine ! Trust me .... you won’t get another dollar of mine. And it shows bad taste in your service level again.

I brought my daughter in yesterday evening for what I thought would be a simple wash, blow-dry and style. She wanted a frohawk and that's simply a style that resembles a mohawk but with perm rodded curls. She's had this style done at Paul Mitchell before, in 2018, and it was perfect, no complaints, and it lasted! However, last night, after 4 hours in the chair with 2 and 3 people working on her style, the final result was a disaster. Her curls were fallen in the front and back, some were wet, there were different size curls, her hair is long so it was flopping everywhere. Needless to say, even with the picture of the style in hand, they still couldn't duplicate it correctly and still tried to represent it as if was correct. The first words that came out of my mouth were, "What happened?" and "Looks like you were in a windstorm". I was upset, tired from a 4 hour wait and hungry as ever. My daughter looked like she wanted to cry and she did all the way home. I felt so bad for her. When we got home, I rolled it myself with my sponge rollers. To top it all off, this style was supposed to be special because today is her 12th Birthday. She is great today because I fixed it. But she never wants to go back to Paul Mitchell. I hate that happened to her.

It's good service for the price. You have to remember it's students doing the work so in my experience it takes a lot longer, but I was still always pleased with how my hair turned out.
