I've been going to Adwoa since I started my natural hair care journey, which has been over 4 years. My hair was a little past my shoulders with a relaxer and she wouldn't do the big chop but helped me transition into my natural hair. She advised me on different vitamins or products to use to promote hair growth during that time. With her help, it took me a year and a half to fully transition and currently my hair is right below mid-back length. Adwoa offers different treatments to maintain your blowouts or treatments to help damaged hair. She shows you every product she uses so you can research for yourself. She remains professional at all times but you can always talk to her as a friend. Adwoa is the best at what she does and I don't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who asks about my hair. So if you are looking for someone with growing hands, I suggest you make an appointment with Dominican Doobies by Adwoa because you won't be disappointed.

Since moving to Columbia about 3 years ago I have been on the search of a hairdresser that cares about hair growth and health. As well as do a blowout and not burn your hair in the process. I am glad I did my research. The thing I appreciated most was the website and how in depth she goes with showing the pros of each service. How this service will benefit your hair. Not to mention it is really nice to look at the pictures, which shows not only the women/girls with good hair, but those who have nappier hair and show the end results. She literally makes you look like you have a relaxer no matter what hair type. I got the Tropical Island Blowout over a month ago. My hair is still straight. I forgot to put a shower cap on and my ends curled up a bit. I normally get my hair straightened once a year. I was set that my hair would not bounce back at all from getting wet. I took a brush a little bit of oil on my ends and put flexi rods in my hair. My hair bounced back! No other hairdresser has been able to do that. A believe this is because of the products, the time she puts in (your time is literally YOUR TIME!!), and trains your hair in the process. I will definitely going back to her in the near future. I'm natural and was displeased to learn the products used were chemicals. It took my hair 1 full year to grow back out. Would not recommend to those who want chemical-free hair care.

I have been going to Adwoa since 2011 and saying that she truly saved my hair would be an understatement! I lost all of my hair from my birth control and had to go natural to save the hair that was growing back. After cutting all of my perm hair and doing protective styles for it to grow back I did not know what to do. My hair grew back really thick and unmanageable and I had no clue how to take care of my hair. I couldn’t even comb or brush it!! And then I found Adwoa!! She taught me how to care for my hair and how to watch out for products that would do more damage than good. I’ve had the Keratin Glazing Blowout, the Platinum Blowout, The Tropical Island Blowout, and Bleach free coloring. My hair has never been healthier. I have moved to Atlanta now, and I still go home to SC to get my hair done by Adwoa...it’s worth it!! I am truly appreciate having Adwoa in my life. This has been the GREATEST hair experience of my life and I have been here on this Earth for 32 years. I say that because tell me how many salons give you one on one care and attention,(not many) gives you knowledgeable recommendations based on what you need, and provides you some of the most down to Earth customer service. Ms Adwoa is very knowledgeable about hair and all the products that she uses on her clients. She creates a special care plan for each and every one of her clients hair. Yesss I said it a CARE PLAN!! She takes her time and she explains everything step by step from the the products and how they benefit the hair while she is performing the service. She gives hope to clients who have been hurt and damaged by other salons that are ready to just give up. Ms. Adwoa is the TRUTH and I am extremely graceful to have such a wonderful HAIR SPECIALIST performing services on my hair. Yes I said HAIR SPECIALIST because she specializes in hair and she assess the hair and see what needs to be done to make it healthy. Most salons just offer extra services for the money, but not Ms. Adwoa, to her this is her passion and it shows through her work. Another thing that sets her apart is that fact she has the most detailed hair website I have ever seen. She breaks down every service and has pictures and videos for visuals so you can see the process. She has created a Hair Channel that gives you awesome information on how to continue to take care of your hair even if you don't purchase her services. By the time you finish checking out the website and hair channel you can tell her exactly what you need. Ms. Adwoa prices are worth every penny and I 100% guaranteed that. I recommend Dominican Doobies by Adwoa to anyone that wants that one of a kind hair experience that will keep you coming back for more. Dominican Doobies by Adwoa. Adwoa is an awesome hair stylist. She takes gentle care with my hair. My hair has been it's healthiest in its natural state. I haven't had chemicals in my hair in a few years. After deployments and wear of my kelvar (ACH) my hair was damaged (natural hair). She help restore my hair to a healthy state.

First, I need to mention how wonderful Adwoa is as a person. She made a very long and what could have been scary process very fun and worry free! My hair is (was) naturally curly and not in a good way., it goes frizzy in the heat and humidity. My hair turned out amazing, and should last as long as was told if using the products they recommend. I highly recommend Adwoa and this treatment!!

Attention! Attention! Dominican Doobies by Adwoa is the best salon for CHEMICAL FREE natural hair in Columbia hands down. First off I want to discredit the individuals who come on here and post fake reviews about coming to Dominican Doobies by Adwoa and their hair being damaged due to chemicals. I know for a fact she doesn't put chemicals in any of her products. Adwoa is very knowledgeable about natural hair and only uses products that are chemical free. She is the only hair stylist I have ever known to show you and let you smell products before placing them in your hair. I know what chemicals smell like and I know there are none in her products. My hair is the healthiest it has ever been since I started attending Dominican Doobies by Adwoa. Ladies having natural hair has become a big thing nowadays so what stylist will do to stay in the competition is totally appalling...even if that means posting fake reviews to other stylist pages....but let me clarify once again NO CHEMICALS ARE USED AT DOMINICAN DOOBIES by ADWOA. She is at the top of her game when it comes to natural hair. She doesn't just do natural hair she "SPECIALIZES" in it which sets her above the rest. FYI she does do live videos in the salon from start to finish on how she processes these chemical free blowouts...tune in and also check out her natural hair channel on YouTube at Nappy2Straight. Once you do all of this you decide if this sounds like a person who is knowledgeable or taking the low road and resulting to chemicals..

Adwoa made me feel at home and she did a wonderful job on my hair she made me look good and feel good she is truly a God sent money well spent.
