The owner of this salon is actually nuts... she tried to get a customer FIRED FROM HER OWN JOB after leaving a bad review on yelp and endeavored to sue her for it. I think she forgot we live in America and have the right to freedom of speech. If you look on yelp, there’s about 125 “not recommended” 1 star reviews about this place that the owner coerced people into taking down. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs - unless you’re okay with getting serviced by unlicensed estheticians and cosmetologists. She’ll hunt you down LOL.

My first spa experience ever was at Shimmer Salon. My husband is currently deployed and wanted to do something special for me. He contacted Shimmer Salon and coordinated an all day spa day for me. Everyone was really attentive and so nice! From the pedicure, to the exfoliating scrub, the massage and hair blow it. All the ladies were very professional and so nice. I would recommend this to all my friends and family for any of these services!

Went to this salon with my mother and bridesmaids the day before my wedding. The staff handled the large party very well and at no point did we feel rushed! Every girl's service was perfect! We even had a private party room with food and drinks. I felt like royalty while I was there and will definitely be going back in the future! Thank you Shimmer!

AVOID. I do not understand how the google reviews rating is 4 stars, do yourself a favor and look at Yelps which are more accurate... less than 2 stars. For my friends birthday I paid for her to get her hair done here... it was so disappointing to get a phone call of her SOBBING and then finally seeing how TERRIBLE of a job they did. What’s worse? The hairdressers in the salon told her to just put dawn dish soap in her hair bc they simply “didn’t want to fix it for her”. The hairdresser was Frank but the salon owner, Grace Labbe, is worse. The most unprofessional “professional” I’ve ever encountered. Gave us insane attitude on the phone and told us to go elsewhere if we wanted to get her hair fixed and continued to literally mock us on the phone. To wrap it up, no idea how this salon is still in business and it made for the worst gift I have ever given someone.

So I want to write a review.....or two or three.....to this question about an 'irritating event..”And how is that also good? Perhaps I can say it occurred to me that both good experiences and bad experiences lead to good. My dearest friend booked this place for herself and nine friends, as a spa party and experienced some problems. Out of it the owner provided me a complimentary pedicure. Thank you for turning the complaints into a positive.

I went there yesterday, for facial. There was very less massage on the face. It was like applying the product with a brush and cleaning after 1 or 2min. A gentle massage on the face, will have more blood circulation. Which was not at all the case here. After spending so much money, I wasn't satisfied. Not worth it. The room was clean and hot steamy towels were nice. Workers there, talk more and work less.

I have made 3 phone calls to schedule an appt..1st time was person answering the phone not in front of a computer to schedule...I'll call you back - NEVER DID. 2nd time...I'm with a customer.... i'll call you back - NEVER DID. 3rd time I;m not in front of a computer why don't you call me back! I DONT THINK SO! I said to the person on the phone why do you put these Living Social Deals out there if you dont want to schedule an appt with me!! SHE TOLD ME TO ASK FOR A REFUND BECAUSE I WOULD NOT BE HAPPY...so i did and yes she was right i would not be happy....YOU NEVER EVER EVER HAVE A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A 1st IMPRESSION!

I came in thinking I only needed a toner to wash away my gold undertone and Grace gave me her honest opinion and gave me all that she had! Thanks for my fab new hair xo

What i nice surprise, me and my wife got a couples massage , to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff and the owners Grace and Jim are fantastic. They went over and above any service we have experienced from other spars . I went for my first visit this weekend and was thoroughly impressed. The Shimmer Salon and day Spa is very clean. I received a bikini wax and they were wonderful. Extremely friendly and professional I was nervous and they made me feel very at ease with a procedure that is obviously intimate. I am looking forward to trying out the many other services offered by Shimmer Salon and Day Spa. The owner of this salon should be very proud of their business and their staff.

My friend booked this place for herself and five friends, as a spa party. I personally was scheduled to arrive at 11, for a pedicure and manicure (they have a two service minimum for parties). I asked when I checked in if I could have a full set done instead of a manicure, they told me to tell the person who came to get me for the manicure. Simple enough right? Well it took two and a half hours to get a pedicure, and after that I was ready to leave. I asked the guy at the front desk, after waiting some time when it was going to be manicure time, he then told me only one girl knew how to do a full set and she was busy. Without trying to make a long story even longer, I walked out of the salon at 3:30, with a terribly done set of gel nails and nicely painted toes. The women who did my nails was dull, and hard to make conversation with. The cheese and fruit platter they served us hours after arriving left much to be desired, especially since they had us there ALL day! I do feel due to my overall experience, I paid far too much. Those that got massages said they were amazing. There were plenty of staff, but there was a lot of disorganization clear to be seen. The place itself was nice, modern and clean. I certainly wish I had checked yelp before my friend booked this place for her birthday.

Cannot begin to describe how upset and disappointed I am. It was my anniversary so wanted to surprise her and I booked a couples massage for my wife and myself. Online it showed that they had plenty of openings in the afternoon. I went ahead and put my credit card information in to reserve the appointment. The morning of I woke up to an email saying that they did not have the staff to accommodate us and would not be able to keep our appointment for us. Definitely not the way I wanted to start my anniversary morning by explaining to my wife that the surprise I plan for her had to be canceled because they cannot schedule the appropriate amount of staff. Thanks a lot I will never return and I will be sure to voice my opinion with everyone I know. Social media and word-of-mouth is everything nowadays.

My experience definitely wasn’t great there. I was scheduled for a hair appointment and I ended waiting because the stylist was 45 minutes late and wasn’t very apologetic and was rather rude about it. In fact pretty much everyone seemed pretty rude. Did a great job with my hair but it would have been nice if I wasn’t charged so much when they were so late...don’t think I’ll be going back.

Shimmer salon is a refreshing new salon and spa. I would recommend it to anyone who likes aromatherapy facials and hour long massages. I recently had a massage at another place and it was 50 minutes not here you get the a full hour.The design is really grand and spacious . I was offered herbal tea coffee or wine or spring water robes and slippers. The spa wing is totally private from the salon and the technicians were excellent Leeann did my facial ,Vicky did my massage and Kate did my pedicure.I look forward to my next visit .I would like to thank the owner for the complimentary blow dry which was a really nice touch.

I've been coming to the salon for the past six years since they opened I come here twice a month for an excellent cut wash and dry. I have used almost all services over the years and this is definitely by far The best place to get a haircut or massage in the area if you're looking for a great day you found it. Grace the owner is fantastic and will work with you to find the best services. I won't be switching anytime soon.

They take the time and effort to make sure your hair looks amazing! Everyone is very friendly and inviting. When I first started going there almost a year ago I booked an appointment with them at 4pm on a Saturday and stayed there for over 4 hours to get a hairstyle that I absolutely loved. To this day I still go and continue to see my hairdress Casey. Casey is a very friendly hairdresser that does a fantastic job with my haircuts. She even learned how to use clippers for me! I feel honored and privileged to go to a place that takes such good care of me! Would highly reccomend!!

Shimmer Salon is amazing! Grace did a great job with my corretive color. She took the time to find a shade to match my skin and was bery fast with a double process. The massage therapist was incredible. She was able to help my shoulder and have a good scalp massage. From the decor to the staff by far my favorite place to escape to.

This salon is top notch! All the stylists are knowledgeable and the owners Grace and Jim are fantastic. They always aim to please and strive for perfection. I have received about every service they have to offer and have been elated. I live in another state and travel up to an hour to go there. Grace transformed my plain look to a traffic stopping look. Most importantly, my self esteem is elevated when I go and when I leave. Additionally, it helps me to realize that I have to take care of ME too.

I just saw a bad review for this place complaining about their nail experience and I'm very surprised. I just went yesterday for a pedicure and it was one of the best I've had, if not the best. They have a newer manicurist, Lindsay, who is professional, courteous, and did a great job. First pedicure of the season and my heels are in great shape. I would definitely recommend going to see her.

I never take the time to post reviews but I felt compelled to post this after my extraordinary experience this evening. My 12 year old daughter has thicker hair than most adults and therefore it presents a challenge to achieve a straight cut. Her hair is long and she likes to maintain her length. However, it grows so fast that this time, she wanted a couple inches cut. Michael Martin (not 100% certain of his last name but it was on the appt. confirmation text) was meticulous and did an incredible job. I have never seen a stylist devote so much time to make sure a customer is satisfied. I told him that the cut didn't even look real but rather like a Pantene commercial in which you say to yourself, "No one's real hair looks like that." My daughter was thrilled and I was beyond impressed by his professionalism and attention to detail. Michael also has a very nice way about him...patient, kind and very attentive to his client's wishes. He is a true talent. Highly recommended.

The worst in my life!! I tried to call to simply make a possible appointment and the manager says he doesn't have enough people working that day. So he hung up and I made an appointment elsewhere. Shimmers spa booked an appointment which I had no clue about. I truly thought they had my phone number mixed up with another client. Well they were rude over the phone because of their own confusion on good business management and I was thanking God I never gave them my credit card to confirm any type of appointment which they made up. They seem really scammy. I wouldn't trust this business one bit. I also came here afew years ago for a couples massage and they had us wait over 30mins because one of the therapists never showed up. I should have known from my first experience to never call this place again.

Showed up for my appointment to have my hair and makeup down for senior pictures at a studio for school the makeup was okay could have been better the girl who did my hair was AWFUL I asked for simple curls my hair was knotted flat to my head and so much hair spray in my hair I couldn't even brush out the curls and for the amount of money that I had to pay for a knotted ratty mess of hair was ridiculous NEVER going here again,
