Terrible place. The student that did my daughters hair for her wedding was clearly not ready to do clients hair. Instructor hardly ever came around to check on her. It took over 8 hours just to color her hair!!! Your kidding me right...Then they charged more then what consultation was set at. The gals who answer phone refuse to give me Owners name/number and are rude and hung up on mr 3x. DONT GO THERE...

I bought a Groupon for about $26. & decided to give this beauty school a try because it is close to my residence. By the time I left I ended up paying about $84. I did have a 2 Color weave but this is a RIDICULOUS price for a beauty school! Their sign in the lobby says the owner started this school as a “for profit” school...well, they are definitely making a profit & I doubt if the students get any portion of what they are charging clients for services. My color turned out looking NOTHING like I wanted & I even took a picture of my hair colored the way I always have it done. Grace at the front desk was completely unprofessional & rude the first time I came in. They wanted me to come back because the student didn’t have time to finish my cut. Thankfully, the manager, Tracy, was helpful & she & another student cut my hair. I came back & they did re-do my Color & I'm much happier with it, but it still isn’t what I wanted. I did give the student a $10. tip because she worked hard at trying to get what I wanted. However, Tracy said they would refund my a portion of my money because during the 1st color I was charged for 2 extra bowls of color because the color “timed out” because the students do take longer. I told the student I didn’t want a refund if she would put the chemical on that protects the condition of your hair during coloring, but she did not do this when it was re-colored...even though she said she’d use the same products. In total it was $94. for color that isn’t bad, but not even close to what I wanted. Lesson learned. I WILL NOT GO BACK! If I had known it would’ve cost this much I would’ve gone to a professional salon. I paid $50. for the color I had done in the picture that I showed them of how I wanted it done, & that was at a PROFESSIONAL salon! I’ve had my hair done at Paul Mitchell, Portland Beauty school, Beau Monde & Phagans & never paid over $70 even with the tip! This school charges students a LOT in tuition (I know because my daughter considered going there) & they still want to charge the same as, OR MORE for services when these are students?! I don’t mind students making a mistake on my color if I’m paying $50. but for almost $100. I at least expect it to turn out somewhat how I wanted it to. I can say Grace was friendlier the 2nd time I came in. I was about to just walk out very angry when she was so rude the 1st time. I still feel completely scammed & ripped off...their Groupon makes you think you’re getting a good deal & you end up paying more than what you would at a high end salon! Absolutely unreal! The only reason I even gave them 2 stars is because the student was very nice & did try her best. Also, the manager, Tracy, is VERY nice & professional! If it wasn’t for her I would’ve just left very angry & wouldn’t have gotten anything for what I paid. At least, they did fix it to where I am happy with it...it’s just not even close to what I wanted or what I paid for!

Appointment was for a facial. Came early to fill out paperwork (one being that they aren't responsible for any possible harm done during facial process, yikes!). Told me my appt was with Lexi but after 15 minutes the woman at the front asked Roger to fill in. 15 minutes later roger comes to get me (now 30 minutes late). I told him my one hour facial would have to be cut short due to babysitter availability. After I get in the room I tell him when I need to leave by and he understands. After I finally get started roger tells me what he will be doing then he gets a phone call and leaves the room for 5 minutes. Now my facial can only last 20 minutes. I came in early to ensure I could get the 1 hour facial but had it for 20 minutes. Not worth the money I spent even if it was a Groupon. Will never go back.

Well where to start, I moved from Vegas to Wilsonville a year and half ago and needed a new place to get my hair done. I picked Summit Salon from the internet after doing some research. Nancy has been cutting my hair as well as coloring and waxing my brows. I have seen Nancy grow through the months with her techniques and feeling much more comfortable with herself. Nancy has been doing a better job each time that I have visited the salon. I have been able to talk to some of the staff as well as the students with each visit. It's nice to walk in somewhere and have the staff and students recognize and remember you. It puts a smile on my face and I alway rebook before leaving for my next appointment. I gave four stars because I always fell that there is room to improve in everything.****

Worst haircut I've ever received. There are random chunks of hair that are shorter than all the others and stick out awkwardly, and the layers were done incorrectly so that the bottom layer is actually shorter than the top. I now have to wait for my hair to grow out before I can get it cut properly, but it is safe to say that I will not be returning here to have this done. Only giving two stars because the person who cut my hair was very nice and gave great advice on hair care.

He is a terrific hairdresser and listens to what you request and takes the time needed to do your hair correctly. I am hoping that when Brandon is done with his education at Summit Salon Academy that he will be nearby so that I can follow him to his new location!!

Alana did a great job on my hair! She was friendly, thorough, made sure I got exactly what I wanted, and was careful to consult with the instructor every step of the way to ensure that my hair didn't get destroyed in the process. Now I have the princess hair I always wanted :) just a heads up, because they are learning, plan on it taking a little longer than you may expect. They do a great job though!

Went there with a groupon that was for a cut, style and full highlights. My appointment was at 9am and I left at 2pm... thats 5 hours... granted it is a school and they are learning but I had to down grade my full highlights to partial highlights and no style at the end because it had taken the student 5 hours already to do partial highlights... I was looking around at the teachers like why aren't you helping her and making this go faster? IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN 5 HOURS TO DO PARTIAL HIGHLIGHTS AND A TRIM..... went home and stopped by Sally's for toner cause adding toner at the salon was extra and not included in the groupon I guess... so stupid.. sorry but I won't go back to that salon school unless I get someone with more experience. Make sure you clear your whole morning and afternoon if you want your hair done there.

I don't review as much as I should, but I really want folks to know how special Summit is and what my experience has been here. Two weeks ago, when I came for my color, things went wonky during processing and it didn't look as we had hoped. That happens. What doesn't generally happen is that the manager and another stylist jumps in to help make it better, staying well past their shifts to make it so, with a friendly, cheerful and fun attitude that made it feel like a good thing. :) Today, they had me come back to give me a free style since we didn't get to that part last time, and I'm even more impressed. My stylist Stephanie (ask for her, folks!) is just as excited about my style as I am, and her talent, friendliness, and professionalism makes me feel lucky to have found her! (and no, I don't work for the salon or anything like that - true story!) And the instructor Josh is just what I'd want in an instructor if I were a student here. He asks questions of the stylists to get them to understand the process and to become the artists they are more fully. If you're a student, consider that. And if you're a client, know that you're in good hands. This place is great, and the people are smiley and friendly. Couldn't recommend it more!

Diane was great and the whole experience in the salon was good. I rated you only 3 stars due to the fact it was hard to get thru to correct number to make an appt. I called and left a message with a Mario and also another director asking how to make an appt and never got a response returned so that is why you only got three stars. The people actually doing the hair styling should have 5 stars.

I usually get my hair cut at a high-end men's salon. I decided to try Summit Salon Academy on a whim, and I'm SUPER glad I did. Camille did an amazing job. Just as good as the cut I get with a high-end stylist and it only cost about 1/5 the price. I'll be going back! The stylists here are students with varying amounts of time on "the floor" so expect that services may take a little longer than usual. It's definitely worth it though. And the teachers assist the students as needed to make sure everything is done to salon standards. When I went in everyone was really professional, friendly, and super nice! I re-booked with Camille for my next cut and this is now my go-to place.

I purchased a groupon for this place. Scheduled my apt. then the day of was canceled on cause the girl was sick. They wanted to reschedule for like 2 or 3 weeks further out when I already waited a couple weeks to get in. Then.... i made it in for a 2nd apt and halfway through the girl putting in my highlights up and left cause she wasnt feeling well. They wouldnt finish my cut and color and wanted me to reschedule yet again. This place is horribly unreliable and I dont plan on ever returning!

Had a Groupon for a really good deal, they were super busy which being around the 4th of July is understandable. Schedule my appointment everything seems fine. Wake up on the day of my appointment to a voicemail saying they have to cancel because the stylist called out, and to call to reschedule. Fine I work customer service so I know things happen. Was able to reschedule for the same day at an earlier time cause they had a cancellation. Enroute to the salon and hit traffic have my friend call to say we will be late, I can hear the lady being extremely rude when asking how long "a little late is". I understand they need to know but there are so many better ways to ask then being an ass. She pushes the appointment out another 15 minutes. 8 minutes to arrival and my phone is ringing, have my friend answer as I am driving, guess who. "We need to cancel again because the stylist we thought was coming in actually isn't." Again trying to be understanding but the receptionist didn't do herself any favors by being rude again when my friend was repeating what was going on to me. All in all if that is how they are gonna treat people at the desk I don't want to see how they are when you actually make it in for an appointment, if you can.

I had a good experience at Summit Salon Academy. My stylist was Corrie who was so sweet and funny! The only reason why I gave a 4 star versus 5 is because the bayalage color came out a tad darker than what I wanted it to look like, but I was assured that with a few shampoo's the color should lighten. Other than that, the teachers are there to help the students whenever they need it and everyone is very sweet. Will be coming back here again! Thank you. Plus you can't beat the pricing!

For awhile I didn't know what I wanted to do and just moved up here to Portland, met a hair stylist and she was amazing and helped me so much she went to this school which now a few months later will be going to in August. I'm excited to go here! The teachers are amazing, went in today to sign some papers and got a style from it! They check in! The students do amazing work too! This place is awesome and I can't wait to begin my hair career! Also if you want a style done, just stop by they'd love to have you!

Worst place to go and learn nails. Spent way too much money and never got to actually learn nails due to air ventilation. They never had air ventilation so even doing a perm should have not been allowed. The owner is more about how much he's making than whats important for the students to learn. I honestly think they should shut down. They dont have enough of the instuctors for the students. I learned the person that was instucting me just got out of school when I started and she didn't have the right license to teach. Shady school all the way. They also judge you for being in a position of not wealth. You have to know students are starving students unless their parents are supporting them.

Sitting in my car crying because a really sweet girl didn’t know how to cut my hair and she butchered it. The place was lovely and super nice people but I’m left heartbroken and enraged that it will take me 6 months to a year to grow back what she cut off. On top of that they wanted to charge me 20-50 extra on top of my Groupon that I was not aware of when making my appointment. Please have better help they said there was only one instructor for over 15 students.

i have been coming to Payton since May and she’s done wonders on my hair!!! she’s such a joy to be around. She’s really helped my hair come back to life after all the bleach and terrible things happen to my hair from my previous salon. I’ve had haircuts, color and styles and even facials done by her. She goes above and beyond to make sure you look like a million bucks when you walk out of there. I definitely recommend hair and this school. The instructors are amazing and they have a clean and lovely Facility. if I could give this school 10 stars I would.

Saw it on Groupon. Lucky I called before I scheduled to ask some questions. The receptionist told me to not buy the Groupon and she would offer that price. Well needless to say I came in for my appointment. I was suppose to get a cut and highlights. Two hours later left with nothing. I never knew a hair student could be so scared of hair. She seemed uncomfortable and did not know what she was doing. Not secure in herself. Needless to say that was scary and after two hours and two tests she ran on my hair I left. Just don’t go there.

Update on my last review. I got a Groupon here in February, I have had to wait 6 weeks for appointments that were cancelled on me with out telling me, reschedules that as I'm heading to them I'm called and cancelled on. A friend worth it the Groupon was supposed to go with me and we're both just done with the terrible system they have in place. This is an awful example for the students on what is expected after school.

I went to the one in Clackamas Town Center-- I had gone about a year ago when they told me that my hair was damaged and they couldn't give me a perm until I let all the damaged part grow out. They wanted me to go THERE and get it cut regularily... I had a friend cut it every so often for a year and then went back to get my perm... They said that I had to COME IN THERE EVERY-OTHER-WEEK (at $6.00 EACH TIME) for TWO MONTHS to get my perm...that would be $24.00 & $24.00 for the perm...hmmm...that's $48.00 IN TWO MONTHS for a perm!!!! When I LOUDLY protested they told me that the people who didn't tell me I would have to come in THERE were gone... "TRUST US" they said--"THOSE OTHERS ARE GONE". I TALKED TO A MANAGER WHO TOLD ME THAT I'D BE BETTER OFF AT A "REGULAR" SALON WHERE THEY DIDN'T USE STUDENTS AND PROBABLY HAD OTHER (BETTER?) PRODUCTS"... GEE, I WONDER IF THAT MEANS THEY USE CHEAP JUNK? I guess for $48.00 I WILL be going to a "normal" salon and get BETTER PRODUCTS USED FOR LESS!!!!!!!! There is NO place on their site for customer feedback (I wonder why?) and even their Facebook page reviews are ONLY from SATISFIED students!!! LIVE AND LEARN!!!

Amazing community. Less like a traditional salon and more like a community. I went in for a shadow opportunity to be able to see the school and learn how they run (I'm a high school student looking for after high school opportunities) and I am so interested in being a part of their family at Summit Salon Academy. Rob did my haircut and it was excellent along with also making me feel comfortable with letting someone besides myself have control of my hair for the first time in months, even with my high anxiety and being super ticklish when having my head shaved. This is probably the best salon I have ever been to. I have been here twice to have my hair cut and colored. Both times, the instructor and student did a great job and were a pleasure to be around! Jennifer did such a wonderful job with my balayage hair coloring!! She was like a professional and really cared that it turn out the way I wanted it to. Lovely experience and student- and I am very happy with my hair :) Good atmosphere, good hair, what more can you ask for from a salon? Thank you!! :):)

I liked other students but Maria was not professional and never explained what she is doing, not people friendly at all. I wanted two color highlights, but she never paid attention to what I wanted, which took her 4 hours but I didn't get what I asked for. I highly recommend her to really communicate with each customer while doing their hair, ask and tell what you're doing in every step.
