My wife and I have been coming here for a few years now. They are professionals and know what they are doing. Brandi is very good for mens haircut. I have tried so many barber shops to try and find the best person to cut my hair and she is the only one who has gotten it right every time. My wife gets her hair done with Brandi also. They are very good about setting up appointments. They will send you a text message reminder which is very helpful.

Jessica Jessica she ROCKS!! I drove all the way from Enid . I'm extremely picky when it comes to my hair, I'm used to very upscale salons with only the best of the best out of Florida. I have never had someone get my color spot on and the exact cut that I describe. Jessica did the exact color and perfect ombré and the cut was perfect, long bob. My natural hair is dark and very curly. Jessica is perfect and this salon is great, very cute and everyone know was super nice ! I can't recommend this place and Jessica enough! I will continue to drive there and now I will bring my family including my husband to Jessica

I had my first appointment with Catie at the Velvet Monkey Salon a few days ago. Catie was absolutely amazing. I have never felt as confident in my stylist as I did with her. She not only gave me a great hair cut, but she also gave me tips on styling my curly and hard to handle hair. She was very easy to talk to and even gave me suggestions on easy make-up tips to spice up my look when I mentioned I am as clueless about make-up as with my hair. I will definitely be going back to see Catie from now on. As for the salon - it was also amazing. It is a very stylish, clean, and well presented salon. It was also very spacious which is hard to come by with some salons. I recommend this salon (especially Catie) to anyone who is looking for a salon/stylist they can feel comfortable and confident in!

Was in town on business and needed a haircut. I found the salon fun and interesting. It's designed as many different rooms with a lot of character to the rooms to give visual interest while you are getting your haircut. Debra who cut my hair did an excellent job and is a great stylist. She did a razor cut finish to give a nice layer effect (I have thicker straight hair and it lays better that way)and even touched up my highlights to give a nice dimension to my hair. I would definitely go back if I wind up in OKC and need a haircut again.

Set an appointment for color and was told she didn't have time to do an ombre because she was not able to help my daughter...mind you it is her 16th birthday today...select a different color she originally had in mind. 3 hrs and 30 mins was set aside for her color! Worst haircut ever and way overpriced I paid for highlights and you couldn't tell they were done and my haircut was very choppy the woman that cut my hair was unprofessional and took smoke breaks every 15 minutes. My hair was done in less than 40 minutes so my highlights didnt have time to set. After literally everyone confirmed for me that my haircut was bad I called and complained and was told the only thing they would do is have the same person redo it. What's the point of having the same person who couldn't do the job in the first place waste my time again! I ended up going to a different salon to get my hair fixed. It's been about 6 months but everytime I look at my family photos taken after the haircut I get upset I hope leaving a honest review of this place will help to warn others and help me move on.

I moved from Tulsa a year and a half ago. I had someone in Tulsa that I completely trusted my hair with; I could give her creative license and always loved the outcome. It has been a slightly frightening process trying to find someone here that I'm comfortable with, however, after my appointment with Mandi Heldreth I think I have finally found my new stylist! Mandi is very personable, and was very detailed and thorough while cutting my hair. It was obvious that she takes pride in what she does, and that she wants to make sure her clients are happy with the outcome as well.

Abby really took her time explaining different options on hair cuts and styles best suited for me. She even picked the colors for my hair since I was so undecided and had really just given up hope. Abby is awesome, she not only transformed my hair, she also gave great advice. I would highly recommend her everytime.

I have been going to the velvet monkey too about 3 years. The staff is always friendly and the decor is awesome. But the best part is my stylist Emily, she is fabulous! Not only does she do my hair, but also my fiance who is very particular about his hair. She is far better than anyone at the more expensive salons (like cottonwood or renaissance). Highly recommend!

I had Stephanie do my hair. Oh my gosh, she was so fantastic. My hair feels amazing, it's sooo soft and I got this beautiful coppery red. She also gave me a blow out and it was perfect. I was kinda nervous bc my super curly hair needs someone who knows how to cut curly hair, and she did so so good!! Definitely coming back and requesting her!

Terrible! First off, when I walked in two people were standing at the front and didn't even look at me. One of them walked away and the other was on the computer.. Still no greeting! I sat down and debated on just walking out and she finally said oh what are you here for and I told her I made an appointment. She didn't know what the hell she was doing with my hair like at all! I felt so horrible and wasn't happy after I left. I usually go to velvet monkey in midtown okc and ALWAYS love the service and energy and I thought this place would be the same but it DEFINITELY ISN'T! I DO NOT recommend this place AT ALL! As far as Men's haircuts go, I feel really awesome after I get my haircut from Catie Lewis. I seem to get quite a few compliments from the ladies when im out and about after my cut. The salon is cool and relaxed yet very professional. Also if you need a place to get your hair done right, its affordable, I don't go to chop shops. Love the art work and the vibe as well. All around great experience.

I had been getting the fiberglass nails from Patty for 6 months. The last 4 manicures fell apart within a week. The fiberglass top completely separate from my nail and came off. She even did one manicure for free because she said "a lot" of people were having the same problem. However, this one feel apart within a week, too. She also saw that the last 3 manicures had the same problem, but it took my telling her I was never coming back for her t offer me a free mani. I like Patty as a person but I was paying for a service ($25 plus a $10 tip each time) and the quality of the service was not good. I used to get waxing by Kara (brow and chin) and she was great, but I didn't want to make the 30 minute round-trip just for the waxing. I have never had a hair cut there because I always felt it was overpriced ($45). If you are looking for a trendy salon and don't care about the prices, maybe try a hair cut.....

I went in for the first time to get a haircut and through conversation while sitting in the chair let her know I was eloping that day and she totally took it upon herself to put in extra effort to make sure my hair was curled and looking its best. On top of that the cut was perfect! I've gone to several places with the same cut in mind and have never got it right but she was on point with it! Seriously see her, I will be back. Misty Byrd is the person to go to. She was so friendly! I have panic attacks when I think of cutting my hair and she was so smooth and great about it all. My hair was so damaged from all the box color I was putting in it however she fixed it and it is healthy again. When looking for the color I could only vision it never found the color I wanted so I told her my vision and she knew exactly what color to put on my hair.....it looks and feels great! My children & I all go see Cara Prentiss. She is fabulous!! I have very fine, thin "baby" hair. She always cuts it so I have lots of body & life in it. The style she chooses (and I let her choose) is fun & trendy. The cuts lasts for a long time. It looks incredible even as it grows out. My daughter has incredibly thick hair. Cara thins it without it looking thin. My son has coarse hair, and she can cut it so all the girls swoon :) He loves it. Let's face it, it's hard to please a 16 year old boy when it comes to hair. He specifically asks when he can go see Cara again! Cara know all types of hair and cuts it to look its best!! She ROCKS!!! I have never had a bad experience in the 4 years she has been my stylist! You should definitely go see Cara!!!

I don't ever go to salons since I mostly think they are a waste of money, but this place totally changed my mind! I recently moved to the city and was really wanting a nice cut since my hair was damaged at the ends, thick, and just a hassle to deal with since the warmer weather was coming up. I scheduled an appointment with a stylist named Cara, and wow, she's so great! Such a great personality as well. She listened to the ideas I had for my hair, and the things I didn't like, but also suggested some of her own, which was perfectly fine for me. She did an initial cut and then shampooed and conditioned it, but I also got a mini scalp massage and that was just great! Then we went to cutting my hair, and I could tell that she was very focused in that she wanted my hair to look absolutely great after she was finished, and it really did! She even did a blow dry and styled it the way I said I normally style it just so I could get a good idea of how it would look. Man, did it look great! My hair (and head) feels pounds lighter! I would recommend this place but especially Cara as a stylist. I will definitely return here when I need another hair cut, and I'm completely willing to pay $45(+tip) for the cut! Great place!
