I love love love this salon. They are so hip and trendy and have great marketing too. Every time I walk in the salon I'm amazed at the decor and always leave feeling and looking great. I usually see Chemere for my nails at Hyde park but this location deserves some love too!

I've found that it's trial and error with getting the cut & color you want, but afterward it was so worth it. I got the best cut in the last 5 years from my stylist Salta. And jozy does my color perfectly. I did hair and make-up there for my wedding and it was ok. They are always professional, on time, and the salon is a luxurious experience.

Relaxing experience....I enjoyed an aroma therapy massage with hot rocks and oils by Cynthia Rivers. She did an extraordinary job even with my pulled muscle which had me in severe sporadic pain. She was really gentle on the injured back muscle and applied the right amount of pressure every where else. I highly recommend her. I next went to have my pedicure. A charcoal jelly detox pedicure by Delia! Delia is awesome she always get my feet right and bedazzle my nails. She id's great at what she does. My only issue is I didn't have enough time on the massage. Next time I'm going for 90 mins. Nice and clean salon, friendly staff and reasonably price.

One word to describe my NYE beauty prep at Mitchell's: Terrible. I was stressed the entire time and I cried the car ride home. I'm from San Francisco and was in town for the Holidays to visit family. I booked a blowout and makeup appointment based on the wonderful reviews I read online. When I arrived at the salon, I was looking forward to relaxing before a long evening ahead of me. At check-in, I was asked to sit in the waiting area. The front desk lady did not ask me if I wanted anything to drink or about my time frame. About 5min past my appointment, I was greeted by my hairstylist. She immediately took me to the shampoo station BEFORE consulting me on what look I was going for. The Dry Bar (where I go to in SF) always consult before washing because it affects the products they use on your hair during the wash and after. I would urge the staff to implement this feature because it really does make a difference. At the shampoo station, I noticed a blonde woman getting extensions, Great Length Extensions (CRINGE). I get that this is Ohio, but for a "high-end salon" to offer Great Lengths fusion extensions is beyond me. Great Length fusion bonds place stress and tension on the hair shaft which could cause damage and irritation leading to hair loss (sometimes balding), and damage to the hair follicle. I urge anyone considering extensions to do their research on fusion extensions. BIG NO especially when there are much better alternatives. At my stylist's station, I told her I wanted beach waves that could've easily been obtained with a 1in wand. She never applied heat protectant spray and she used a plastic brush on my fine hair while it was soaking wet putting unnecessary tension on my bleached hair and causing lots of breakage. Education tip: Don't take a brush to soaking wet hair, let it dry a little first and then use a boar bristle brush to enhance shine and preserve the integrity of the hair. I would've brought my Mason Pearson had I known they use plastic brushes. After all the damage being inflicted to my hair, I didn't even get the results I wanted and my blowout lasted a total of two days. I'm used to it lasting a week with dry shampoo spray and minor touchups. Then for the makeup. . . I was directed back to the lobby to wait for my makeup appointment. About 15min after my appointment time, the makeup artist finally comes back to get me. . . OMG!! This is where it goes from bad to REALLY REALLY BAD! She doesn't even ask me what type of skin I have and just starts pulling out foundations. I tell her I have dry skin, as in there's a desert on my face and that I will need a serum and moisturizer applied to my face before we even start. Reluctantly she goes to the back and just applied a crappy moisturizer. Whatever. Then she starts applying foundation, completely skipping the primer part, which I desperately needed because I tend to be ivory/pink. So here's the deal, Mitchell's offers Jane Iredale which is similar to Bare Essentials or minerals or whatever it's called and its absolute rubbish. Pressed powder on a dry face, just sits, and so my foundation sat, all while being told how "ahh-mazing Jane Iredale is and how I should buy it." My mua literally used the entire time I was sitting in her chair to sales pitch me and it was completely uncomfortable. For my eyes, I requested a smoky cat eye. The finished result, smoky but no cat eye. Eyelash application, the cheap kind of eyelashes you buy from a CVS drugstore. This is where I start panicking: I'm running behind because of her tardiness, I'm getting nervous, I'm hating everything she does to my face, I'm getting annoyed with her sales pitch, I'm about to have an anxiety attack and so I conclude my appointment mid face and leave her chair. I LEFT HER CHAIR. I left her chair before we got to blush, and contouring and lips. I have never done that before but it was so bad, so bad.

Mitchell is best salon i had greg faith aways been long time now i brought my baby to cut hair he was 2 plus years old its hes first time hair cutting so he maybe scare or something he is not setting the way he has to sit and off course none off the kids sit greg did not cut hes hair bec he said i cant not cut hes hair i say u just start cutting he will cry as hell but he did not i got little mad like common can u pls cut hes hair he said no i got little mad and i was left from there and after 2 weeks or so i try to book my hair appoinment and i heard he cant not cut my hair i have to go with linda. now onward manager also explain even i told him i have not told greg anything he just putting me with someone els without any discuses he should talk to me i try to call left message so many times nothing response. but manager so nice her name is chris she help me hope this thing was help full and i can go back with greg faith bec i still missing the way he cut my hair please help me thanks..

Excellent pedicure. Won't ever go back for another manicure. It lasted 3 days before the polish was scratched and three of the gel nails applied came off. Too far and too expensive to return to have fixed. Sad because I enjoyed the pedicure there. Ive had much cheaper manicures that looked better and lasted longer.

Prepare to enter an office building and get off on the second floor. I prefer to just walk in street level, but once you enter, the spa is beautiful and updated. My husband booked the day for me, but they couldn't schedule manicure or pedicure, so after my relaxing facial and massage we went to ambiance for nails. My massage therapist was just ok, nothing to rave about and not terrible either, she was too talkative and my esthetician who i had many questions for barely could explain anything she was doing. I think it's a must do experience for pampering. Massage Envy is more convenient though!

I had such a wonderful Spa experience at Mitchell's in Kenwood! They have a spa relaxation room for before, during and after pampering, with dim lights with a very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Each aspect was timed perfectly, so that I did not spend time waiting between my massage, manicure & pedicure. I have to say, the massage was the BEST I have ever received. She listed to my problem areas and focused on a relaxing & soothing massage. Both the nail and pedicure technicians were very personable and did a fantastic job on my nails...they were shaped and painted perfectly, and still look great two weeks later! Lunch from Cheesecake factory was a wonderful bonus, and I give this experience a 5/5 and am happy to recommend a Spa day at Mitchell's to anyone!

I had a horrible experience on my wedding day with airbrush makeup by Pamela. The color didn't match my skin and it looked like a mortician did my makeup. She told me to wait and see if it grew on me and come back after I get my hair done if I still don't like it. After getting my hair done I still didn't like it and went back to get it fixed. At this point she had another person and couldn't help me. So, I asked the front desk if anyone else was available and there wasn't. After Pamela was done with her other client she didn't even offer to help me and watched me take my own makeup off. At this point I only had 30 min to get to my wedding and I had to reply my makeup. It ended up looking wayyy better after I did it and I am not even a makeup artist or close to it. Oh and I tried to call before my appointment because I couldn't find the location. They placed me on hold immediatly after I called and after about 2 min on hold I hear them pick the phone up but they just hung up. But, it doesn't end there after about a couple days after my wedding Madison from Mitchells calls me and leaves a message and apologizies for what happened. The same day someone else calls me and asked me how my services went and I told her what happened. She said she will have Madison call me back. It's been 3 weeks now and haven't heard back from anyone.

I was concerned about the damage that the other person had done, so it was recommended that I come in for a consultation! BEST IDEA EVER! I used to love getting a massage here but they've just gone down hill. I asked for harder pressure right off the bat and it never got better. She also started me on my stomach, massaged my feet and then my face and head. She held my neck up weird and tried to massage my back at the same time. It was the worst one ive ever had.

Great massage. With the end of the evening appointment, I realized whom ever maintains the locker and relaxation rooms must be gone as they needed some upkeep.
