Came to NY to celebrate my daughter’s 16th birthday and stayed at the Peninsula. I scheduled in advance for daughter’s hair appointment for the morning of her birthday. Her hair appointment was at 08:00 AM and a NYC photo shoot scheduled for 10:00 AM. We arrived at 08:00 AM to a locked salon. Called front desk who attempted to assist. 08:30 AM receptionist arrives. She doesn’t know what happened to stylist and she can’t get in touch with him. We return to room to wait on call. At this point, calling photographers begging to change time. I lost money here. Finally, at 09:45 AM phone call that stylist can’t do her hair until 11:15 AM and I ask for someone else and this gave us a 10:15 AM appointment. 10:30 AM new stylist arrives. This totally screwed up our plans for our last day in NY! And way too much stress for a day of celebration. I totally lost money and more importantly precious time wasted here! The receptionist was very apologetic and offered a 20% discount. The experience was a total disaster! I would never recommend this salon! For the price tag, $200 haircut, and that’s not with Vu, I expect a much higher standard! Total disappointment! The stylist also did not make up for all the troubles. She did not interact with my daughter and did not speak throughout the appointment. I do wish I could be writing a positive review for this experience, but unfortunately I cannot. Just to clarify, her original appointment was not scheduled with stylist Vu, but another male stylist in the salon.

I had booked a hair appointment over a month in advance because I have an event to attend to on the weekend. I requested only the hot tool service since I was staying in the hotel and didn't need a wash or blow dry. At the time, the receptionist asked the stylist if this would be okay, and confirmed the appointment would only be $45 for a hot tool service. (I had also asked they email me a set price list of their services prior to my phone call.) When I called the day before to confirm my appointment and price, the other receptionist said it was $85 and I would have to pay for a blow dry service even though I was not having one done. I had not received any phone call to be notified of this change, and only because I asked to confirm my appointment, was I made aware of this change. This salon needs to work on their poor in house communication. There should have been a note on my file pertaining to exactly what service I was having done. They should also not email out price lists to customers if they have no intention of upholding their prices. Very disappointed!

VuHair salon is amazing . I was there on Saturday to do my hair done , and all of the people who works there . They are amazing people . Especially Ms. Edita who did my colors . She really knew what to do with my hair because to be honest with you I have no idea what color I want so Edita came up with something to make my hair look beautiful and she did !! THANK YOU AGAIN MS EDITA I love you all . So when you ladies go there I recommend you to ask for Ms . Edita she is amazing person

Amazing staff, beautiful results. Very expensive but worth the price if you want a great cut and color. Guy is a genius and Ludy is great with color if you are open to seeing color that works for you as opposed to what you think works for you.

Had the best haircut of my life here. Came in with a groupon and have switched stylists despite it being a bit out of my normal price-range. Vu is the best and takes the time to talk to you before cutting. I am able to get about six months out of haircut due to it growing out so well. I also brought my sister here and he was able to fix her hair after a botched haircut elsewhere. Would recommend to anyone.

I am going to be in New York in a few weeks so I called to request to book an appointment. The woman on the phone was SO rude when I mentioned that I used to be a hairstylist myself for 6 years. (I am now studying to be a veterinarian). I only mentioned this because she asked how I knew to ask for "level 10". I would not have brought it up if she didn't ask. I was floored by how her tone changed after this and how rude she suddenly was.
