Came to NY to celebrate my daughter’s 16th birthday and stayed at the Peninsula. I scheduled in advance for daughter’s hair appointment for the morning of her birthday. Her hair appointment was at 08:00 AM and a NYC photo shoot scheduled for 10:00 AM. We arrived at 08:00 AM to a locked salon. Called front desk who attempted to assist. 08:30 AM receptionist arrives. She doesn’t know what happened to stylist and she can’t get in touch with him. We return to room to wait on call. At this point, calling photographers begging to change time. I lost money here. Finally, at 09:45 AM phone call that stylist can’t do her hair until 11:15 AM and I ask for someone else and this gave us a 10:15 AM appointment. 10:30 AM new stylist arrives. This totally screwed up our plans for our last day in NY! And way too much stress for a day of celebration. I totally lost money and more importantly precious time wasted here! The receptionist was very apologetic and offered a 20% discount. The experience was a total disaster! I would never recommend this salon! For the price tag, $200 haircut, and that’s not with Vu, I expect a much higher standard! Total disappointment! The stylist also did not make up for all the troubles. She did not interact with my daughter and did not speak throughout the appointment. I do wish I could be writing a positive review for this experience, but unfortunately I cannot. Just to clarify, her original appointment was not scheduled with stylist Vu, but another male stylist in the salon.
