Just got my haircut from Sheila Chung at Ziba on 57th street. My haircut and color is awesome! Its the best cut I've ever had - she really knew how to give me a new style that really matched my face. And the one process coloring was spot on. She recommended a natural highlight process to dye my greys instead of a traditional all one color dye and the highlights make it look so much more natural. The salon is also really beautiful and it makes you feel like you want to spend the day there. I would definitely recommend Sheila if you need a regular cut, need a new style or for anything else hair related!

She sits me down before each haircut/color and asks me what I'm thinking. She listens carefully and gives me honest feedback based on my hair type and what would work well for me based on my features and also my lifestyle. It's gotten to the point I basically let her decide what she wants to do/feels I need. Having curly hair, I've had my fair share of haircut "doozies," but every time I leave get in her chair she knocks it out of the park -- so much so I travel to see her from North Carolina! I highly recommend both Shelia and Salon Ziba. I love the open space with natural light. The hair washing chairs are super comfortable and it's an upbeat fun environment. I can't wait to my next trip back!

I have been going to Sheila now for at least a decade. It’s no surprise that she is amazing at what she does, sometimes you shouldn’t judge by the cover of a book but other times you can . You can tell she has a great sense of style and creativity just by looking at her own style. We all have been there before where the cut is just slightly not right and the coloring is just slightly off by that small fraction but with Sheila, she always has a keen eye for just the shade that goes well for you and your skin tone and the right shade for the right season ! For me, I am a busy profession with ADHD of course so finding time to come for a hair appointment can be a luxury of time that I am always scrambling to find, she even knows me so well to take it into account this so the coloring style of my highlights and the pick of the shade ensures that I still look presentable if I get overdue to see her. Would def give it a try for anyone looking for a new stylist !

I've been a regular customer for many years and I recommend Salon Ziba. This review is for their newer location 50 west 57th street on the second floor ( I was a customer at their first midtown location 200W 57th). My hair stylist is Melece ( Melissa ) and I have only great things to say about her. She will listen to what you want, will make suggestions which are spot on, and she is absolutely reliable and very pleasant to work with. A word about the new location on 57th street: 2nd floor makes a big difference as you feel removed from street activity, music and décor is on the sleek, zen side so you can relax. Booking is convenient, online or on the phone, and you get appointments by email or text and receipt is also sent to your email.

Oh Salon Ziba! Your new location is so lovely! Clean and spacious and airy and friendly! But the most important gem you have is Colin! The number of random strangers' compliments on my hair color is incredible. My hair has transformed since Colin has been coloring it. I trust him with my hair completely and just let him be the true artist that he is! My highlights look natural but ahead of the curve. They're always complementary to my hair style and the current season (if I'm tan or not!). She is able to get that blonde bombshell look while still keeping it really natural-looking. Best of both worlds. Been coming to Salon Ziba for about 12 years. Jeffrey is the stylist I always use. I am extremely particular about my hair. I can say for a fact that he cuts my hair by far the best of anyone I have ever had (I just turned 58). He has an artistic flair that always amazes me. I have never once been unhappy with my hair using him. For about 2 weeks after each haircut I am euphoric because of how good a job I think he did. I tell him so and he just blushes. I really like the Salon as well. It is quite fancy and I feel 'privileged' going to a place on 57th Street in the middle of NYC even though it is priced very reasonably. The manager Oliviere there has been very gracious and friendly to me on many occasions and apparently knows how to run a good salon as well. I can't speak highly enough for Jeffrey or this place.

Eiko is THE ONE. She's the hairstylist you won't ever want to leave. If you're on a hunt for a new hairstylist, stop now, and book Eiko immediately (at Salon Ziba on 57th). You will not regret it! First of all, my hair always looks good, not just for a few days after I've left her chair, but even after a month, A MONTH! Not just that, but I get compliments asking me where I had my hair done. Her experience with hair shows in the care she puts into listening to what you want, in the ease with which she whips your hair into shape, in the joy she expresses while doing it, and in the way everything grows out handsomely. I've never received so many compliments on my hair as I have when Eiko has done it. Eiko does her magic on my hair like the true professional she is, and I know I'll keep going back time and time again. Sheila Chung at Salon Ziba on 57th is amazing. She is an extraordinary colorist and, during my first visit, had covered my grays and blended my color into the natural color of my twenties. I'm auburn and it is so easy to go too dark or too red, but she got it just right and took the time to make that happen. Additionally, at age 58, I have thick, course hair and she handles the cuts and styling to perfection. I have so often had fellow New Yorkers ask who does my hair (on the street, in Bergdorf's, etc) that I have started carrying Sheila's cards with me. She is THAT good.

I have avoided writing a review for Salon Ziba, for no other reason than I'd rather keep a delicious secret to myself. After over ten years of hairstyles with Jeffrey at Salon Ziba it may be time to let the cat out of the bag. Jeffrey was recommended to me by a friend working at Tiffany, and I've been working with him ever since. Jeffrey consistently provides fantastics cuts executed after careful, consultative conversation about what suits my needs and style best. Over the years I've gotten quite a few looks with Jeffrey: Waist length layers, blunt bob, shoulder length, pixie cut. Not in that order. Did I mention he managed to gracefully transition me back to longer hair post pixie? Or that he trained with Vidal Sassoon in London? Jeffrey and the entire staff at Salon Ziba have consistently been kind, respectful, consummate professionals in the years I've been fortunate enough to work with them. I cannot encourage you enough to treat yourself to a haircut with this lovely man. Happy styling! For context: I have straight, medium weight caucasian hair.

Four stars!!! Sheila at saloon Ziba saved my blonde hair!!!! Okay I went to Warn in the Plaza, Cutler, Bumble and Blumble even Red-whatever on 57 street, all these "high-end" saloon and guess who was able to fix their mistakes!? 57 street Ziba! Warn and Blumble gave me reddish bonde I almost died and it was for my birthday. Cutler and the other treated me like cattle ( in and out) I came with burnt red-blonde hair and it's been 6 months now and we fixed it from the first time I arrived crying. It is the best blonde I ever had and now I leave feeling beautiful!! You can contact me and I will personally recommend Sheila.. she is fab! Thank goodness I found my NYC saloon!

Melece (Master Barber) and Anna C. (Colorist) have been my team of stylists for over a decade. They are both amazing and incredibly talented artists who I have counted on for Job interviews, weddings, and other events. I would never go anywhere else in NYC.
