If I could give zero stars I would. This was the worst service I have ever had and it was not worth the lower price. They were rude when I booked over the phone, hanging up before I could ask for the stylist's name. They showed up 20 minutes late to open the studio. The male that cut my hair was extremely rude to me and unhelpful with my haircut.

Went here for the first time today. Incredibly impressed. They not only wash your hair and give you a great cut for a wonderful rate, but they also massage your head and then AFTER the cut allow you to get shampooed again, which saves from having to run back home and shower to get excess hair out. Sam was great and wouldn't even accept a tip (Seriously, what city am I in?), so just tipped the shampoo girl instead. I also really liked the dry hair spray he was using and he simply gave me the bottle. Unbelievable service in a clean location. Will certainly be back!

Keith is not an experienced colorist. I had healthy naturally dark blond hair and went in for some light blonde highlights so he suggested a balayage. I got red hair that he himself immediately decided to use a color stripper- twice. My healthy hair that took 18 months to grow was decimated into hay by Keith in one afternoon.

First, let me start by saying that the receptionist and the women who shampooed my hair were extremely nice and welcoming. I’ve also received two phone calls, including from the owner himself, just to hear about my experience. He also apologized and offered to compensate me after I told him that I wasn’t happy with my haircut. I think that good costumer service is hard to find these days and I truly do appreciate it. For that reason I will probably comeback and give this place another chance (just with a different stylist). So thank you Sam for making an effort. Here is what I wasn’t happy with and where I think you could do better: 1. Be consistent- if one of your staff says Something than it shouldn’t be contradicted by someone else from your staff ( like wheather or not it is recommended to apply conditioner on your scalp). 2. Provide guidance- don’t just be robots. You are the experts! I want to hear what is your professional oppinion. Make me feel confident in your skills and knowledge! This was probably the 5th haircut I was given throughout my life so I don’t know what are my options or what might be a good haircut for my type of face and hair. I know that I am the one making the decision, but the least you could do is help me understand my options or make a suggestion. 3. Communicate better- before you start cutting, take the time to truly talk to the client and understand what they want.not everyone who comes in is a returning client who goes to a hair salon every week. Some of us need more time to make sure that we are on the same page and at the end of the day I didnt get what I wanted. I asked for LAYERS and for a LAYERD side fringe. I got no layers whatsoever( just shorter length and shorter than I wanted side bangs). 4. Don’t blame the client- saying things like “this is not my fault” after I’ve expressed that something is not to my liking, DOES NOT HELP. Instead, you can ask- how can I fix this for you? ( better to do this on the spot than on a phone call when I’m already upset). If I was asked that when I was still there than I’m sure the experience would have been much better overall. Again, on a personal level everyone were wanderfull and it’s obvious that the staff cares about their clients. I guess most of my issues were with that specific stylist who cut my hair, and I hope that my review will help improve the service and prevent another client from having the same experience I had.

I went here was so pleasantly surprised by this salon and my stylist nlka. Upon arrival they offered me tea or water which doesnt seem like much, but its little things like this that show me a salon is going above and beyond. Ilka didn't keep me waiting and we got right down to business. I showed nlka the look I was going for and she explained my options. I was going from a highlighted blonde back to my natural brown with natural highlights. After two visits nlka achieved exactly what I was looking for. First she did a color correction on my highlighted blonde which was actually like three different colors. 2 weeks later I came back and she added very natural looking balayage highlights. The result was A+!! If you are getting something drastic done to your hair I definitely recommend going in for a consolation first, so your not wasting your time or the hairdressers. I definitely recommend Ilka, she is a true artist of hair! and she really cares for her customers. I am glad I found her and can't wait till my next appt.!

I have been coming to Nica and Sam for a few years now. I’ve never felt more comfortable in a salon between the environment, chemistry knowledge and the capabilities of the staff. Any time I ever had a mishap with my color at another salon out of town, they always knew how to swoop in and fix it. Ever since, I never go anywhere else for my hair. My stylist was amazing and could not have been nicer, but my hair was not cut evenly and they completely butchered my mother’s hair cutting it choppy and all different lengths. When we called and asked if they could fix the issue, attempting to give them another chance, they allowed us to come in and made my mother feel horrible the entire time. Glaring at her, making snide comments like “these highlights aren’t doing you any favors” even though they’re completely natural and she left in tears. Will not be coming back here ever again. That is not appropriate behavior for a business and I cannot believe they would treat their clientele this way.

This review is long overdue. After an extensive google/yelp search on great and not overpriced salons in the City I decided to opt for Nica and & Sam Hair Salon. And boy am I am happy that my lucky stars led me to them, especially in the hands of Sasha. Truth being told, I was a bit skeptical towards her in the begging, because I am a control freak and an insane OCD. I’ve been coloring my hair for over 10 years and I swear never in my life have ever been has pleased with a stylist as I was with Sasha. She was so meticulous with every hair strand. Throughout the years, I’ve been at many other salon in the City, even Mure, but nobody has ever pleased me with their work as much Sasha. My hair was a total disaster when I went to see her, it hadn’t been a bad hair day, but literally a bad hair year. And after five hours in Sasha’s golden hands my hair had a complete 180, giving me also a great boost in confidence. Additionally, it has been 3 weeks since I saw her and my hair color is still perfectly beautiful❣️ My apologies to Sasha for the long awaited very much deserved review. If you are reading this looking for a stylist, do yourself a favor and go see her!

I have a short precision haircut that is so ugly when it grows out even a little bit. Since I travel most of the time I rarely have time to establish a new stylist anywhere. Possibly the worst men’s cut and color that I’ve ever had. I went here due to the excellent reviews. Perhaps many of the stylists are excellent but mine, Kieth, was not. He ignored what I asked for, left the product in way too long while he was having a chat-fest with the girls in the back, never used a scissors once (cuts your entire hair with a electric razor and a comb), and then tried to make up for it at the end by saying I could come back next week to do a repair job. My hair feels like it’s been burnt. And my haircut looks like someone took an axe to it.

I have difficulty explaining what I want, and Sam was wonderful in identifying the look I wanted. He gave me the right color, and even recommended a lower fee service than I thought that I wanted! I hate when I try to get some input from a stylist, but they just won't tell you anything. I think it's usually because they don't know what they're doing. It seems like they only hire experienced people here. Will continue to return to them!
