I was introduced to Mauricio Hair Salon by Simone as I follow her wherever she goes. It’s such a nice bright space and you don’t feel like you’re in salon. Their organic products are awesome, you don’t leave there with the chemical smell on your hair. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

This was my very first time at Mauricio Hair Salon. From the moment I called to schedule my appointment with Lia for color, this experiment has been a dream. The location is beautiful and smells amazing because the products are truly organic (and the dyes don’t smell like chemicals). Andres was my stylist and he was super friendly and thorough. Their focus on the customer service is evident in all of the touches throughout the space. Today I came for a balayage and got so much more. The team was super friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed like they really love what they do, from Lia, to Adelin, to Andre they each took great care of each of me and all of the clients here today. My consultation, balayage process and amazing massage chair shampoo station experience made my time here so delicious. So worth it to come here, I will recommend this space to all of my friends, especially pregnant gals and come back again. The value you get for the price is soooo worth it. Love my hair soo much!

I went for a standard base color and highlights, and the colorist didn't put me under heat so the color didn't take - it was getting late so they suggested I go home with wet hair: I have super curly, frizzy hair so NO WAY was I going to spend $300.00 and still have to blow dry my hair? so for another $75,00!! - just a blow dry - and they didn't flat iron. My hair is black and white instead of brown with blonde highlights and the blowdry was awful. My room mate says I look like a skunk sat on my head, and my boyfriend joked it was early for Halloween :( They apologized about my white streaks & told me to come back to fix the highlights- but to fix the base would cost more. It took 4 hours plus commute last time: I dont make much money and I'm afraid they wont really fix it - and may not dry it : am so sad, waste of my hard earned money :(

Great location and view. Unfortunately, all the colorists are liars! I was told OlaPlex would be used during my coloring process, I asked three times before starting my half head of highlights and twice as the bleach was being mixed. Finally when I got to the hair was station when I didn't smell the distinct olaplex scent to colorist confessed that the don't use olaplex!!!!!!!!!! Awful, awful, experience. Thank god I didn't do a whole head of highlights, otherwise I'd be bald now instead of having this crazy mullet I do now. A W F U L!

This was my first time going full-on blonde from my dark-brown roots, well more like ash-blonde, and it was a pleasure watching my transformation process. I showed Mauricio a photo of the black-blonde balayage that I wanted and he immediately understood what to do with my hair, explaining to me that he will frame the sides of my face with highlights and blend them all out so they melt into the blonde color towards the bottom. I loved that he understood the importance of what hair aesthetics could do for the face. Overall, I found the whole experience quite pleasant. Mauricio and Amy were both very welcoming, friendly, and quick to address any questions/concerns I had at the moment. The ambience too, was just divine. Usually, I dread going to any salon because of the hectic-ness of it all and the harsh chemical odors, but this salon is completely stress and odor-free. The only slight problem I had would have to be the price inflation. I came in expecting to pay the standard $185 for the balayage yet, ended up paying an additional $40- I assume because of the blowout (which I expected to be covered). Nevertheless, I shall keep this in mind for my future appointments.

Ive never been happier with my Blonde. Vinzar my personal senior colorist not only has given me the perfect golden highlights but most importantly has kept my hair healthy at all times. The rest of the team is just outstanding. Also love the fact they are punctual and thorough. Highly reccommended!

Andres did an amazing job on my hair! I did a balayage on my hair and after he was finished, my hair felt so soft. I loved that it didn’t smell like chemicals since they use an organic approach when dying your hair. I did my hair back in April and the hair color still looks great. The reason for leaving 4 stars instead of five is because I found this place to be pricey. There are other hair salons that do a similar organic approach when dying hair and don’t charge as much. However, I already feel comfortable doing my hair with Andres so I will definitely come back.

Came all the way from Westchester County as referred by Organic Olivia. A total of 1.5 hour commute to get to the location and taking 20 minutes to find parking. As I made the appointment for 2pm, I was 30 minutes late due to the traffic I did not expect. As other salons I went to, they try to accommodate and at least still do what you would like to do to satisfy their clientele. They also called me twice to change my appointment to an earlier time (which I could not do as I tutor and work at the hospital in the morning), to accommodate their own schedule rather than to be professional and not call their potential clients about changing their appointments. Very unsatisfied with this salon. Do not recommend.

Mauricio Hair Studio is a little gem of a place overlooking Madison Square Park. It's bright and chic and, because it is an organic salon, it doesn't have that terrible chemical smell in the air. They use all-natural, organic products from shampoo to color to treatment, and the staff are knowledgeable about the ingresients and what they do to different hair types. My stylist, Simone, gave me an expert consultation and tailored my hair color (a full color job for spring) and cut processes to my hair type and history. She was very warm and friendly throughout my visit, even though my thick, dark hair took us longer to work with than originally estimated. The other stylists and staff gamely jumped in to help. It's a very team-oriented environment that takes professionalism to an elevated level. I came out of my appointment with my hair looking and feeling absolutely amazing. Definitely coming back for future appointments and I certainly do recommend it!

Mauricio’s Hair Studio is a gem. I love coming here. The studio is beautiful, the environment is relaxing, all treatments and colors are non-toxic and the stylists know and care about what they are doing with your hair. At every appt they treat my hair and sensitive scalp as if it were their own. Never damaged and my color and keratin treatments are always non-toxic. If you care about maintaining the integrity of your hair during your salon visits, this is the place to go to. I naturally have curly / wavy mixed hair and a sensitive scalp. I did their organic/ nontoxic keratin treatment in November and during the same appointment went from brunette to full blonde balayage. Today, 2.5 months later, I did a full balayage, no keratin and no blow out because I was in a rush, and my hair still looked beautiful after it dried on my way home. And honestly, my hair feels softer and healthier after every appointment. I’ve had my hair done by Andres and Mauricio. I love this place and I’m so grateful to have found it.

The sassy guy that works here is a total douchebag. He yells at kids that come to the place for no reason. I told my gf and friends never to go to this ever again. If he cant even display a little compassion towards harmless kids with cameras, he doesnt get our business. Me being a professional photographer, this really struck the wrong chord with me. And apparently they need to ask for HIS permission to take a picture through a window...which isnt even in his establishment. What a douche.
