Be aware this business has fake reviews everywhere ! I went there and they BURNT my hair so bad with their terrible products. I wish I can upload a pic of how bad they burnt my scalp that I have to take painkillers after the treatment. Do yourself a favor and avoid this business.

My aunt owned her own salon in Bushwick for 30+ years; I was spoiled and never paid for any kind of salon services until a few years ago after she sold her business. Needless to say it has been a HORRIBLE experience for me trying to find a new stylist. I have tried numerous salons all over the city and shelled out huge $$$$ for mediocre/horrifying results. Let me just say that every stylist that works here is AMAZING! I get my keratin treatment done here four-times a year and my color/cuts done here as well. I love the new location! It's airy & comfortable and Gina is still the best of the best! My natural hair is very, very curly and a bit unmanageable for me, but HairBar has been able to transform my hair! The store manager who sits there just wanna get her daily target fulfilled by giving service which is fake. I was charged for regular silk touch keratin but the lady who did my hair told them silk touch express. My hair after wash are frizzy , Which explains that which service they gave me. I was late but I kept informing them that I am coming because my train got delayed they were still telling me about their policies that they will charge me $25. I came did the treatment then I just had small trim which the lady offered me. I didn’t know that they will charge $15 extra for that. At least communicate me before charging. Madison ave and the other locations are way better than soho. I think this location needs new staff and good customer service. I was sick and I still came but they gave me bad treatment. I communicated before coming too that can they reschedule my appointment but they keep on telling me their policy of charging $25. They are in retail business but they don’t care at all for their old customers. At least give the customers the treatment properly if you are charging them money!!!! It’s people hard earned money which u are taking from them for the service which you are offering.

This is a great place for well-priced keratin treatments in the city. While keratin and other smoothing options are their clear specialty, I have also had highlights and cuts there and have been very happy with the results. The stylist are very kind and sweet. (one bought me some fruit! ) it's very close to the JZ train as well so easy for anyone coming from downtown

They help you pick the formula that makes sense for your hair and my hair is much better with the keratin in it! They also see you on time, which is nice. Make sure you get a quote before you start any services and during if you see anything extra beinh added to your hair, because they did that to me and paid double what I was quoted at the end of my treatment. They will go well the deal out of you and word it differently until it's time to checkout and your stuck with a huge bill. The hair treatment I got done was well worth it though.

The best thing I have done to my hair. I got the 24K keratine. My hair was a mess, I have curl hair, and it's really complicate to comb it. I chose Nancy, and I don't regret, she is THE BEST. I received an excellent service, she was friendly, and make sure that I didn't need anything else, even offered me water, candy, etc, and made sure that I was feeling well. She gave the extra mile. I did Keratin treatment before in this place and I loved the service and the effect on my hair. Decided to try second time. However, this time I was not happy at all. First of all, the stylist, Ariel, was very unprofessional and the way he handled the work made me feel very uncomfortable. The second, I did keratin 24 hour express service, after washing the hair, it looks the same dull and frizzy as it was before the treatment. Definitely not happy about the experience I had.

I often get my treatment when I travel to S. America because truth is, it always lasts longer when I get it done down there. Where to begin. I came here about a month ago after my mom and sister went to the cedarhurst location. I didn't know what to expect but since their hair came out amazing I was hopeful! I came in and the treatment was awesome, Leah and the girls treated me like I was friend and we talked about horoscopes which I love to do. My hair ended up coming out amazing and a month later I am still beyond happy! After the treatment I got a trim and just last week I came back for a haircut that has given me volume nod shape again! I had a silk touch (phormahyde free keratin treatment) at this saloon last Sunday and had an amazing experience!! I have really long hair so the manager Leah made a special price for me. Gina spend more than 3 hours taking care of my hair. I have very bad frizz hair in my bangs and now is completely straight and very shinny. I've already washed twice and it still looks amazing. The girls at the saloon are awesome!! They spend a lot of time thinking of what's best for your hair and are very friendly. I also got my bangs cut by Nayarit and I really liked as well. Gina Cohen (spelling?) is my girl!!!! I love her and I love this place. They constantly have a Groupon-like deal going, so you can just walk in and get your hair done for the price of a Groupon deal. What I don't like usually about the Groupon deals is that you can only go once for the discounted price, but I was looking for a Salon I would see consistently. They charge me between $100-$140 for my Keratin depending on how long my hair is. The staff makes you feel like you've been friends with them forever. Beyond just the staff, the Keratin product is GREAT. They use their own brand so you won't find it elsewhere. Its STRONG so beware if you have sensitive eyes or lungs, but it gets the job done. They also sell their own branded shampoos, conditioners, masques, etc. Their keratin in my hair lasts forever, whereas most other salons I go to it washes out within 1 month, which is very frustrating. Gina also lets me do a touchup on just my hairline, which is perfect for those awkward in-betweens. The last time I went I got color with her done as well, which was of course great. She is a one-stop shop! I also go to the Madison Ave location sometimes as well, she works part time there. Feel free to message me with any questions, I've also attached photos!

OMG!!!! I LOVE this place!! I hate going to get my hair done because I feel like it is a long boring process which takes forever. But not anymore!!! It took me a while to find a salon that had stylists that genuinely care about you and the health of your hair. As soon as I walk in to Hair Bar on Kenmare Street, I am greeted in a friendly manner as well as offered a cold beverage. The salon has an upbeat atmosphere and is EXTREMELY clean. The music and service is so good here that I forget that I'm at a salon. In addition to an amazing atmosphere and friendly presence, the stylists definitely know what they are doing when it comes to hair. My hair was curly, dry and brittle, I got the keratin treatment and my hair NEVER looked better. The stylist, Bebe, who applied the procedure was very knowledgeable and helpful before and after the application of the keratin. I feel safe knowing that my hair is in her hands as well as the other stylists at Hair Bar on Kenmare Street. I walk out of this salon looking amazing EVERY SINGLE TIME. No one can't tell me nothing once that happens lol.....thanks to Hair Bar on Kenmare Street.

Brittany was so good doing natural honey-blonde balayage (sp?) highlights, will definitely be going back. Also, been getting keratin for a while and this is the only place I've gone back to get keratin twice at the same place because it's better than the rest for a good price.

I had a very bad experience with the stylist Yulie. I will never go back or recommend this place to anybody. Yulie was not willing to get my keratin done ( not sure why...which is a concern). So she was giving all wrong info so I could cancel my appointment and go back. After 1 hr of incorrect information when I still agreed to get keratin done she told me I have to wait for another 1 hour till 7pm. At 7pm she sends another stylist with no explanation. I have serious concerns with why she was tossing me off and I will bring this up with the owner.

I did the gel keratin from here and it washed away after 1st 3 wash. I called them within 1 month period and asked if they will redo my hair. The manager declined. when I insisted she said she will talk to her supervisor and she told me to call her in the evening. I called them 3 days in a row and she never picked up who ever picked up the call said she is in the meeting!! seriously!! I will say they don't value their customer and I don't recommend this place.

WOW! My experience at Hair Bar NYC was nothing short of phenomenal. When I came to them, with possibly the worst knot in the history of hair knots, I was desperate and frustrated. They took me in with open arms and somehow managed to turn an awful situation completely around. It took hours and multiple employees to finally remove the knot, but throughout the grueling process, they never gave up! (Even though I was ready to cut my hair off at that point). The people who run the place are so accommodating, friendly and make you feel immediately welcome. Bianca took me as a last minute walk in and she gave me a Brazilian Blowout that literally blew me away. She is creative and is exceptionally skilled. I highly recommend this place. Today I got the Silk Touch, a haircut and style. My hair looks fab!! Coming back in 2 weeks to have my color by G & C touch up with Brittney!! She's a fantastic Colorist!! I come in and give her full range with my hair!! She's that good!!! I introduced my daughter to Hair Bar too. She's now coming for all her hair needs as well. The best thing about Hair Bar, besides the fact that all the hairstylist are great at what they do, is that everyone here cares about making you look great! They treat you like family and always make sure you leave totally happy with your results!!! I can't imagine ever going anywhere else!!!

My hairdresser was out of town and after spending 2 very humid summers in NYC and 2 very humid weeks in the west indies I was at wits end with my thick, wavy, frizzy, read: extremely unmanageable and bushy hair. I was used to the dry arid climate of so cal where I rarely had to deal with humidity so it did what I liked, without much product at all. And, the thought of wearing it with lots of hair products and gel like I did in the 90's to embrace the wave and curl seemed like too much work now. I like to wash 'n' go, and I don't like to wash my hair every day. So, I decided to give this keratin Brazillian blow out treatment a try. My hairdresser's salon in Chelsea charges upwards of $350 for this procedure, so I looked on Groupon and found Hairbar NYC. But, before purchasing the Groupon I decided to call them. The gal on the phone was super nice. She told me they'd accommodate my schedule as I mentioned I needed it done before leaving town. She also told me not to buy the Groupon and gave me an even better deal on the phone!!! She said my appointment was with Bebe. Not knowing what to expect I went. Bebe was super nice. She explained the whole process to me. Basically I can't wash my hair for 24 hours, but ideally 72 hours, nor should I even get it wet. She encouraged me to also put heat to my hair after sleeping and before washing either with a flat iron or blowdryer. When I left the salon my hair was super soft and super straight, straighter than it's been in years. I did as she said, and 3 days later I washed it. I was a little skeptical that this was just like a regular blow out, I mean for the price it seemed to good to be true, but true to their word, after I washed it, my hair is still 90% more straight and frizz free than it usually is! My blow dry time was also significantly less! Bebe says this could last me about 5 months. I've read online this could last anywhere from 8-10 weeks. Either way, I will definitely be going back to Hair Bar NYC and Bebe to get this done again, for sure!

Just wrapped up my Silk Keratin treatment and my hair looks amazing! Danah did an excellent job and overall everyone at Hair Bar knows exactly what they’re doing, so definitely try them out if you’re in the area! Also worth the trip even if you’re not! Such a great experience.
