Helen is so talented and knowledgeable about all of the products and had so many tricks and tips to provide. I scheduled my next two appointments as she typically books out so far in advance. Very excited to go back!

Helen is a fantastic stylist. I've seen her thrice now - a creative colour, a touch-up, and a hair cut. The creative colour (bleach highlights which were then dyed purple) - she was very thorough in explaining the process, going through sample photos with me, and really just making sureI knew exactly what I was getting into and that I was getting the exact colour and style that I truly wanted. She even had me sign a waiver when she discovered I'd used box colour on my roots - because she wasn't sure how the box colour would react with the bleaching. Luckily everything went well, but I appreciated her explaining every single step of the process so I was uber informed. Even better - two months since the purple was added to my hair, it's still looking amazing! I really expected it to have all disappeared but it's fading so wonderfully. The touch-up - she fixed a few greys that were missed during the epic creative colour session and also fixed a bit of hair that hadn't taken the purple colour. On the house, and she squeezed me in so I could have everything perfect as soon as possible. I really appreciated how she went above and beyond to make sure I was 100% satisfied with the outcome of our time together. And most recently, my hair cut. WHICH WAS AMAZING. Unfortunately I'm mixed-blessed with thick hair, which meant an "advanced haircut." But boy did she give me the full treatment. I wanted to go shorter and I'm always terrified that I'll end up with a boxy bob due to the amount of hair I have - but she talked through the style options with me and we came to the perfect understanding. She trimmed, razored, thinned my hair beautifully and I'm so pleased with the results. It's chic bob that is super easy to style and volumize. It doesn't look boxy or heavy and it's just super, super fun. I'm blown away by how perfect it is - and she taught me how to easily style it so I'm ready to go! Helen is also always super thoughtful and messages me a day or two after an appointment to make sure I 100%, completely love my style. It's really refreshing that she takes so much pride in her work and that she takes pride in YOU loving her work. Highly recommend Helen - and the whole salon. Honestly every time I'm in there it's full of friendly stylists and the overall vibe is really warm. I don't think you can go wrong with Fox and Jane!

Marisa is an AMAZINGLY talented artist!!! I went in with brassy orange dried out hair and left with a gorgeous warm golden brown color and deep conditioned cut hair. I was beyond satisfied with the results. I honestly couldn’t believe how different my hair looked when she was done! Recognizing that this wasn't exactly a scalable plan, I found Betsy Duggan on Instagram after seeing a gorgeous cut she did featured on Fox & Jane's account. I had to wait a couple of months for my appointment, but it was well worth it. Betsy gave me an absolutely fantastic haircut. My hair was super long and I hadn't had a major cut in almost nine years, so even though I was armed with a photo and a pretty specific idea of what I wanted (a loooong lob), I was pretty sure that any major hair change would leave me with regrets. But Betsy NAILED the length, was an absolute pleasure to spend time with, and -- for the first time in my haircut history -- I had no big chop regrets. I re-booked with her on the spot. I feel so lucky to have found Betsy (and that fabulous hair is now only a subway ride away).

I’ve been coming to Fox and Jane for a little over 6 years and when my regular stylist left I panicked! I booked an appointment with Helen and my only regret is that I hadn’t found her sooner. She recommended me products that transformed my hair completely. I love Fox & Jane for their prices- the most reasonably priced cut I’ve ever gotten in NYC but I was always hesitant to spend on the treatments. THEY ARE WORTH IT! I do a protein treatment about every other visit and I absolutely love how it makes my hair look/feel. And it doesn’t add any time onto the appointment which is great. Highly recommend! So beside this salon being super cute and chic, my experience getting my hair cut and colored by Marisa Strazza exceeded all expectations! I came in with virgin hair, and was getting color done for the first time since having a few highlights in the 5th grade. I was super nervous because I haven't had a change for a while and also because I booked this appointment the day of my white coat ceremony. Marisa was super accommodating, she worked as fast and efficiently as possible to get me out of there in time for my ceremony. Aside from that, her work was INCREDIBLE! I am truly obsessed with the color she did on me, I showed her one sample picture and trusted her to do her thing and it was the best decision I ever made! I think they probably focused mostly on girls hair, and that's why I don't like it. The barber kept talking to others or leaving during the middle of the hair cut, and cut my hair way too short after I kept repeating do not cut it short. The hair cut cost me 60 dollars and the result was unexpected. I will probably not go to this place again.

Luci did an amazing job!!!l Everyone is used to me with the blonde, but everyone said my dark hair looks better. Thanks to Luci my hair is amazing and SO SOFT it’s already been about 3/4 weeks and it still feels salon fresh when I blow it out. This salon is worth it highly recommend

Marisa was really great about explaining why going too short could look funky if I wanted to wear my hair naturally, and I was all on board. I ruined my hair after the 100th time I dyed it blonde and my hair was completely unmanageable, constantly tangled, dry & dead!!! I told Pamela all the horror stories I went through with my hair and she took it from there. She explained in detail what she was doing, suggested what I should do, gave me a fabulous cut, and most importantly gave me hope that I can have the curly locks I once had. She was knowledgeable, sweet and professional. I booked another appointment with her immediately after she finished and I can't wait. I wish I could rate Fox & Jane 10 stars. I went to Tran to refresh my balayage and get bangs. In short- she put a look together that I couldn't even imagine in my most flattering daydreams. My hair is especially prone to breakage being that it is very fine, but somehow my hair feels better than it did before it was bleached. I can't stop running my fingers through what I can only describe as the most immaculate of baby-textured hair. Tran added dimension to my balayage with the bright face-framing lights I was looking for. My hair went from what looked like old ombre to a rainbow of golden blondes and demure browns. I was ecstatic when I saw what the back looks like. The bangs are cut perfectly and help balance my bone structure. I keep seeking out just about any reflective surface to give a little tousle and smile at them. I feel a level of satisfaction beyond what I anticipated. I highly recommend Tran.

Great experience. I have been in the business side of high end hair salons in the past for quite some time. I know great hair stylists. Helen Lee is a great hair stylist. She knows what she's doing. She takes the time to make sure she knows what you want. She takes the time to explain how she is going to try to achieve what you want, and she is not afraid to offer her true vision of how to get there. I have medium fine hair (not super fine as I thought) and Helen heard all of my concerns in my journey to making my hair healthy and long , which is what I want. And she's lovely to boot. She loves what she does and it shows. Highly recommend. Cute, boutique salon.

We went a little lighter and warmer with my hair this time to achieve the natural honey/sunkissed look I wanted. Helen also gave me a hair protein mask treatment that made my hair feel healthier and silkier. Fox and Jane is definitely a gem to the East Village! --------- I don't normally write reviews, but I couldn't resist after finding Helen at Fox and Jane! I'm very picky with my hair, but Helen exceeded all my expectations. She not only saved my damaged hair, but she color corrected my hair and did a beautiful job on blending all the colors together. She took the time to understand what I wanted and thoroughly explained how she was going to improve my hair's condition. You can't find anyone else more REAL & HONEST than Helen. I came in with a vague idea of what I wanted and Helen gave me some options, clearly explaining the difference in what the outcomes would be. Since I wanted to be significantly lighter, I decided to go with the double process. Helen was super cool and took her time to make sure it was perfect. She was upfront about pricing, which is refreshing. I already booked a couple more appointments with her for the future since she is so popular and books up fast.

Allison is the worst hair colorist I have ever came across ! Please do not go to her . She left bleach on my hair for hours as she attended to other customers . She tried to do 3 people's hair at the same time and paid no attention to me . As I was sitting there alone for hours with bleach on my hair I seen how other customers were getting treated by their colorist , always being checked on etc . But mine did non of that. Than when she seen my hair didn't come out rite she started asking those other colorist for advise and started coming up with ever reason in the book why my hair didn't color . BUT MAYBE she's should've paid attention to me instead of leaving my hair with bleach on it . I ended up leaving with my hair looking worse than it did before I came there ! I was crying in that salon because I was devastated and she didn't even show sympathy at all . After I was leaving she had the nerve to ask me for 90$ I will never never ever return to that location Allison is the worst !

I booked a consultation and double process with Helen almost 4 months ago (I now know why she’s so popular). I walked in knowing close to nothing about coloring but Helen was so kind to explain the before, during, and after processes. Not only was she super knowledgeable, but she was also intuitive as to how I was feeling. I was starting to have second thoughts about the double process and she instantly knew that I was hesitant. Regardless of me booking her time, she was SO understanding and sweet to even tell me she’d rather not have me spend my $$$ on something that I’m not 100% sure of doing. This review is for this Fox and Jane location overall, but specifically for my stylist, Marissa. Every time I come to see Marissa, it is such a good experience. She is so incredible at what she does, and actually listens. I used to get DevaCuts (I have very curly hair) and I would always leave semi-satisfied... but immediately go home and wash my hair. My haircut with Marissa was the first time I left a salon 100% happy with my curly cut. She was also more than understanding when I wanted to go from the rose gold she had done (which looked awesome) to a bright blonde - she worked with the time we had and made it look amazing. She is also a super sweet, fun woman, and I can't wait until my next appointment! For the salon overall - everyone that works there is super nice and I always feel very welcome. It's a tight space, but it doesn't feel that way. Highly recommend!

After my first time with her my hair lasted for 6 weeks looking as fresh as after I had left the salon.
