I think it is important to take the time to acknowledge excellent service when you receive it, which is why I am particularly excited to take this time to write my review of Fine Artistik Salon and my experience with Jacob. I have lived in New York City for the past 5 years and I couldn't find anyone that can live up to my hair expectations so I referred to Google to compare the best spots to get my hair cut and possibly balayaged. I ended up selecting Fine Artistik Salon, and was not disappointed. When I calledand spoke to someone on the phone, they were very helpful and friendly. On the day of my appointment, I arrived ten minutes earlier than I had anticipated. I was warmly greeted and offered all sorts of beverages including wine, coffee, tea, or water. I waited in the well lit salon and flipped through some magazines until the assistant came to retrieve me to set me up. Jacob walked up and introduced himself. He is very attentive, and really listened to what I want, also while making thoughtful and creative suggestions. I came out with exactly what I had in mind for balayage and a hair cut! The experience that was exactly what I was looking for. I will absolutely be coming back to see Jacob! The salon is small, boutique-like, loved being there. Made conversation with the staff, very very friendly people!

The reviews here do not lie. I had such a wonderful experience at this salon. I had the good fortune to get an appointment with Jacob and he is such a creative and a sweet stylist. I gave him my thoughts about what I wanted for my hair and without being pushy he suggested what he thought would work best for my face shape and complexion. Lets be honest, when you're getting hair color + full highlights + hair extensions from a stranger sitting in a chair for a couple of hours having your hair pulled and messed with can get awkward. This was not the case at all with Jacob. His work is outstanding! He knew how to color my hair and place hair extensions. He cut them in a way that they look so natural. He made me feel comfortable the entire time. Kept asking how I was doing and if I needed anything. Like I was getting a haircut from a friend. The salon itself is mid to small. It is cute, quaint, and cozy. I didn't feel like I was going to get run over and I didn't have to talk over other people to be heard, while there. The other employees there were also sweet and personable and all of them seemed to be very professional and good at their jobs. The one complaint I had was that it is rather expensive. Definitely not saying that it wasn't worth it because I in fact love my hair, but be sure you're prepared to spend the money on color and hair extensions before you go. Highly recommended!

Thanks Jacob for your help! Yesterday I arrived to the salon completely worried about my hair and Jacob helped me figure out the proper solution to correct my current hair color mess. He was really nice, comprehensive and professional with me. He made an almost 5 hours work very pleasant and to leave my hair awesome. I went from brassy dry damaged hair to beige balayage with shadow roots with olaplex treatment. At the end it looked and felt so good, so smooth that Jacob even took a photo to post on Instagram. He truly is the master of hair color correction and the best balayage highlights colorist in NYC. Thanks Jacob and I recommend his talented hands to everyone!

I don't typically write reviews, primarily because I'm too lazy and nothing ever really galvanizes me to do so. But this is different. This salon is amazing. I found it because my friend did a "balayage" on my hair but it ended up looking like grown out highlights-not what I wanted at all. So I went online to research some salons that specialize in balayage (specially in color correction) and Fine Artistik Salon popped up. I called because other reviews on here mentioned great balayages. They were extremely accommodating and were able to book me right away. I am so happy with my hair! Jacob did an amazing job. It looks light, but very blended and natural. I love it! I will definitely be returning.

I have a very unruly curly hair and I always wanted straight hair with natural blonde balayage highlights the straight hair was no problem because I would get the keratin treatment but nobody ever was able to give me the hair color I wanted. The last stylist I went to turned my hair green. WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?? I didn't want to go back to get it corrected (trust issues). So I went online and researched hair color salons in NYC that specialized in color correction and that specialized in balayage highlights and that's when I found artistik hair salon. I followed their work for almost 2 weeks on Instagram and Facebook. Looked at their before and after work and it seemed that they knew what they were doing. When I finally decided to schedule an appointment I send them an email and within minutes they reached back and the process to schedule an appointment was very very easy. I came last week Wednesday and my appointment was with Jacob. We talked and I explained him my hair coloring history. He was very straight forward and explained to me the process that he would do to give me the color I wanted. He corrected my base hair color that had the green highlights then he asked me if I wanted the olaplex treatment with my balayage highlights so my hair won't get damaged and maintained healthy. He is talented and I could see that he loves what he does because it's done with a passion. My color and highlights looked just like the photos I showed him and the hair felt soft after the blowout. It was shiny. I NEVER left the salon with the color I wanted and my hair feeling so soft and looking shiny as I left Jacob's salon. No wonder the salon has high ratings! It is because they are excellent.

I had a wonderful experience at Artistik salon! I googled salons in the New York City area that specialize in balayage. I was impressed with the reviews and pictures they had uploaded. So I decided to book an appointment. I have never had color done at a hair salon, so I was really nervous, but my stylist Jacob was wonderful. He was incredibly detailed and even got me coffee. He took the time to do a consultation with me, I showed him some pictures of what I had in mind and then he started his magic. He took his time with me, and I even cut into his other clients, which I feel sorry about, but he wanted to make sure my hair would look amazing. When he was done styling my hair and showed me, I almost cried. I gave him a hug. Walking out the door I got my first compliment in the parking lot! I have already referred people I know to him, they saw the results and want something similar.

I tried to dye my hair silver myself and my roots ended up black and a brassy orange with different tones, the rest of my hair was greyish green. Jacob gave me the hair I wanted while bleaching, coloring and toning with a blowout for 600 dollars. Also they serve beverages.

I am so fortunate to have found Jacob at Artistik salon. I've been going to the Dabe stylist for 5 years but needed a change for a variety of reasons. I was nervous to try some place new. Every time I received a recommendation from a family member or a friend, I'd check either on Google or Yelp. Anyways, I found artistik salon through google. The reviews were great but it was their website that sold me AND MOST importantly when u called Jacob himself answered the phone and was super pleasant and funny. The final products were all wonderful. While it wasn't close to home it looked like a cool concept. I was nervous to try a place without knowing anyone personally that had been there. The second I met Jacob when he introduced himself, I knew I made the right decision. He knew exactly what to recommend for my hair. He was also extremely personable and fun to talk to. He gave me most natural looking balayage highlights---I was blown away---I love my hair! Love the color (can't even figure out how he was able to get it so perfect), love the cut. Wella color specialist Jacob of Fine Artistik Salon in NYC is the best kept secret in the city. He provides expert color correction and cuts, beautiful color service and precision cuts. He also has 2 other stylists in the salon who are fantastic. A few months after arriving to town, I tried some salons but no one could give me what I was looking for. So again I turned to google to search for a colorist or a hair salon that specializes in color corrections. I came across Jacob's name at Fine Artistik Salon. I called and made an appointment with Jacob. He took me from red to a phenomenal brunette with natural balayage ombre highlights. I like extreme color and he delivers results. I've recommend friends go to him for color and they are in love with his work as much as me. The salon is contemporary and comfortable.

I went to jacob at fine artistik salon about couple of months ago for a major hair color correction & hair rescue and the result was way beyond my expectations. (I feel compelled to write this review because skilled colorists are really so hard to find! This guy really knows his stuff!! I was weary at first, because most of their reviews were for caucasian hair, and I have asian hair, but jacob knows how to work his magic on all hair types!) I had been coloring my hair all kinds of colors and patterns for a long time with many different hair stylists. My hair had been stripped of color, painted back on, stripped again in different places...etc. The result of all the abuse was dry, brittle, yellowy bleached out hair with random markings all over (random ugly lines from where my hair had grown out from where it was bleached, and random lighter pieces where my hair had been bleached over twice...etc.) Long story short, it was a hott mess as a result of multiple inconsistent processing from many different people. I decided to go to jacob for a hair make-over, even though I knew he was going to be expensive. I know some people complain about the price, but honestly, I really felt it was worth every penny. I did a bunch of research online, carefully looking for a stylist to fix my hair but at the same time not burn it all off, since my hair had been through so much. I was not ready to compromise style for the health of my hair. LOL. I wanted a sexy, fun haircut, with fun colors, but at the same time I wanted my hair to look healthy again. I told him I wanted "an extreme ombre" where my roots are dark brown and the tips are very light, so that when the color washes out, I'll still have a nice fun ombre underneath. Don't ask me what he did, I have no idea, for all I know it was pure witch craft. He managed to give my hair the most beautiful tone, and at the same time you couldn't tell my hair's been processed before (no lines, just even beautiful balayage ombre). I have asian hair, and many stylist have trouble removing the color from black to blond without my hair turning a very ugly yellow, which I absolutely hate. After jacob was done bleaching (or it's call lifting in salon terms?) and toning my hair, it was the most beautiful ashy blond/brown color, that blended in perfectly from my dark roots. You couldn't tell my hair had been processed before. He then colored over it with a blend of toners, and gave me a fun haircut. Not only was it fun, and sexy, it was sophisticated! Beautiful work. I really can't say enough how amazing my hair looks. jacob rocks!!

This is undoubtedly the worst salon I have ever been to. I chose this salon because they had great reviews and I wanted an ombre. My stylist dyed my already blonde hair completely dark then proceeded to bleach my almost all my hair, destroying it. I went to this salon 6 months ago and 6 months later I still have irreparably damaged hair. My only solution to fixing it would be to chop it off completely. My stylist let me walk out of there with wet and destroyed hair. This salon is an absolute scam and I am writing to spare potential customers from losing hundreds of dollars, and their beautiful hair.

My first visit to artistik salon was months ago when I was in a desperate need of a major hair color correction. And, they did an excellent job! I returned to the salon this past Saturday to get balayage highlights but because my hair always ALWAYS has a warm color after bleaching, I asked Jacob to make my highlights white COOL tone. Honestly tell you, because of my previous hair color correction appointment which was months ago, maybe it was even back in 2015, but I'm not sure. Well anyhow I asked Jacob to give me white COOL platinum balayage highlights, and of course he did! I was super pleased with the results and my hair had no damage and most importantly it had NO brassy orange warm tones. I know I am in good hands. THANK YOU!!!! The salon and staff are soooo pleasant and nice.

I went to Jacob for my balayage highlights! And boy is he awesome! I had gotten his number from a good friend of mine, so I had already trusted her- my friend would not recommend someone to me if they weren't worthy, haha I hadn't gotten my hair done by a "professional" in a while so I was a little nervous. I showed Jacob a pictures of what I wanted, he immediately knew what to do and how to do it. He explained me the process, so detailed. The results were amazing! No brass. Absolutely ZERO damage to the hair. "Baby blonde". The cut is awesome too. I have long hair and he gave me soft, flawless layers. It took a total of three and a half hours or so for everything to be done but the time went by so fast! Jacob is awesome, the salon is SUPER clean and the people working there are so sweet!

I will begin by saying how picky I am about my hair! The color has to be exactly how I want it to be. The haircut has to be exactly how I want it to be. When I called and spoke to Jacob on the phone prior to making an appointment I told him that I am very picky and somewhat abnormal when it comes to my hair and if he was up for the challenge. He said yes! The reason I found this beautiful salon with such talented colorists is because I was going to my previous colorist for years and when she sold me on highlights she turned my hair orange!!!!! So I went online and googled best color correction salon nyc this salon kept popping up so I figured they must be good and was I right!! I absolutely love this salon. I scheduled an appointment with Jacob to have a color correction and hair cut done. I'm so impressed with how he handled my bad hair case. After a lengthy talk, he suggested smoked silver because I asked for gray hair. I have to say that I have never loved my hair as much as I do now. I first tried Fine Artistik Salon under pressure from my girlfriend at the time, even though I thought " What kind of pretentious cheeseball goes to a place called 'Fine Artistik Salon?'" To my surprise, they did such an outstanding job that I've gone back consistently for over two years. I go in with specifications that would baffle or intimidate most stylists, but Jacob always understands exactly what I mean, and exceeds my expectations. I can honestly say that Jacob did a great job. However, he quoted a price of $350.00 based on the info. I provided online. Once he finished my hair he informed me that the charges would be higher which resulted in a cost of $780.00 Canadian. I feel disrespected as he should have discussed this with me during the 4 hours I was in the salon. He also stated he only accepts cash tips which is questionable. I hope he will learn not to take advantage of tourists and to reevaluate his greediness. You won't stay in business forever when you behave so unprofessionally. I called and spoke to Jacob on the phone and instantly he knew what I needed for my hair. Meeting Jacob at Fine Artistik Salon for the first time was amazing. My husband/Music Manger and I was there like ten minutes early and Jacob was kind and thoughtful enough to let us wait inside the salon. Not only am I new to New York but Manhattan as well. I did some research, called a few salons and decided on Fine Artistik Salon after reading it's fantastic reviews. When I called I spoke to Jacob he assured me that he understood my concerns as a stylist and I made an appointment. This salon ABSOLUTELY deserve their high marks. Above all, Jacob is extremely talented. He listened and provided feedback to ensure that I indeed received the color and cut I wanted. I'm very happy with the results, and walked out of there feeling as if I had Playmate/Victoria Secret Angel hair. I was there for 5 hours but only because I did need the color makeover. I had way to many different colors and Jacob was trying to fix all of that with the least amount of damage, and he succeeded. I appreciated him just concentrating on my hair and not engaging in a lot of chit chat. It's not that I'm an unsociable person, but it allowed me to relax and for him to focus on his fine work. I liked being able to choose a a shampoo and conditioner to take home. I have certainly found my stylist, and look forward to my next appointment. Jacob is a-ma-zing! I'm new in town. I was looking for a good hair color stylist. This particular salon got my attention with their 5 star reviews and a big plus they are on social media, so you know the job is real. As I was looking at the photos, I was very impressed with Jacob's work. I gave him a call and Jacob worked with my schedule to setup an appointment. I was greeted warmly by Jacob's assistant -I arrived early. Jacob was ready at the scheduled time of our appointment. He was very comforting, he took the time to understand what I wanted, he looked at the photos that I gathered, and made me feel at ease by confirming that he understood what I wanted. I maintained a dark brown hair that became a signature look for me, but I wanted to soften my look by adding subtle highlights. I couldn't trust anyone as I feared that I'd end up with orange streaky hair. Jacob delivered exactly what I wanted if not more: I still have that mesmerizing dark hair, with oh so natural highlights towards the ends that are perfectly blended in. I couldn't have been happier that I love my hair and that I found my stylist! Thank you Jacob!

Herring people say you have no record of being liscensed in New York State and no record of the best salon thing you got going on and looking into your eyes with all that fear you had when I told you to fix your price because you know damn well you didn’t list that price and yet you still over charged me and other people? Yes your salon is about to be gone good luck on being a con artist I asked other salons their price and the said $150-$200 tops because my hair is short and curly my color correction wasn’t that serious ( you couldn’t even get the pink out so what color correction did you do all you did was bleach it) and with oliplex I have oliplex at home I used to work in a salon I said that many times to you yet you still tried me! This salon is fantastic! Just fabulous! It's clean and modern. Upon arrival, you will be offered a beverage which range from water, cola, tea, coffee and wine. The team is current on the latest vids, styles and trends not to mention the products offered for use at home. They offer online scheduling that cover just about 7 days a week. Let me tell you, Jacob knows his stuff when it comes to color, highlights, lowlights and vibrant colors. It has been about several weeks now since my visit to the salon and I haven't stopped receiving compliments on my hair and am continually asked who does my hair. Schedule with Jacob...you will not be disappointed. The salon is easy to get to from any area. Seriously best stylist I've ever had...hands down.

I never write reviews but I just have to write this after getting my hair colored by Jacob back in September. He was so knowledgeable, patient, and most of all he was the best stylist I ever had. I recently moved to Manhattan, NY from SF and as picky as I am, I did a thorough research of NYC hair salons and stylists and specifically searched for a salon that specialize in balayage and olaplex. I had a lot of things going on in my hair (roots, single process above previous foiled highlights, etc) and he told me from the beginning that it was going to be more of a color correction and the process wasn't going to be as simple. Typical me would have been nervous about this but the way he explained how he was going to do my balayage (as he recommended) allowed me to put 100% trust in him. And voila!!! After almost four hours of multiple coloring process the result was everything I wanted and more!!! My hair now is by far my favorite version of my hair. I have found my go to stylist in the city!!!! I always come here to see Jacob & alway as get the celebrity treatment. I just went today with a photo in hopes that they would capture the exact colour & look....& it exceeded my expectations!! The team took their time with the proper colours & wash & dry. The treatment they used on my hair was so worth it! It left my hair as smooth as silk! Im beyond pleased with my look. First time I went to Fine Artistik Salon because I needed to fix the highlights that were done by another hairdresser who left me with half yellow half beige highlights all over my hair. Jacob did an amazing job by bringing my hair back to normal and actually making it even prettier as he suggested to use a toner at the end creating more of a natural look. Ever since I'm going to him and am super happy with my hair color! He knows how to make that perfect beige highlights (not yellow!) and I prefer the regular "old fashion" weave technique for my hair. My sister visited the salon about 6 months ago for her color and cut and she recommended me to Jacob. If you visit Artistik Salon New York, not only will you walk away with excellent results, you will also find yourself with a spring in your step as you'll have just been treated with the utmost respect and care. It was my first time visiting, and I was greeted by a cheery crew and treated with such an attentiveness that I will surely be back for more! Jacob, my colorist, was kind and assuring every step of the way. He corrected my orange color to a cool ash brown balayage. Even though the salon was highly recommended for blonde highlights but he sure knows all colors! Not once did he catch my ears while combing through my hair (a common occurrence for someone with baby fine hair) - a small detail, but one that only further attests to the level of attention you are subject to whilst in the chair. The first time I made an appointment at fine artistik salon was for a hair color correction and they did outstanding. This past Saturday was my second visit at the salon with Jacob for a root touch up and balayage highlights. Again, my stylist was Jacob an extremely talented artist who handled my hair with utmost care. He listened exactly to all of my hair demands and made sure he knew exactly what I wanted. He is very precise and took his time on my hair to make sure it was perfect. He was super attentive and made sure it was the correct tone. I can't express how obsessed I am with my hair and Jacob. My experience here has been wonderful both times and I look forward to keep coming back plus I will recommend fine artistik salon to everyone.

Jacob is extremely honest which is something that is rare in a salon owner. My grandma 'Moose' always said "Your hair is your crown and glory," and I got my crown back here. My hair has always been very long and straight but now that I have two kids all I do is wear it up being so busy. Cielo gave me beautiful feminine feathery layers keeping the length in the back so I can wear it down without it getting in the way and without having to spend too much time styling it. Jacob at Fine Artistik Salon is a hair genius/expert and takes pride in his work. Highly recommended! I first came to the salon as a color correction client. My hair had been lightened too much from past processing and didn't match my completion. Jacob matched my roots perfectly and brought me back to a beautiful, natural looking color by using the new balayage technique (I'm a strawberry blonde and that's a hard color to match in my experience with other colorists). Even though I had some damage, I wanted to keep the length in my hair. He trimmed off the damaged parts without taking the length and have me long layers which somehow made my hair to appear even longer, which I appreciated since it took years to grow. I left with shiny, healthy, gorgeous hair that looked like celebrity. I've been a loyal client for over a year now because he always fits me in when I request which is often last minute, listens to my requests and even when I can't explain exactly what I want, I always leave with exactly what I was imagining. And while I get my hair done, I notice how other stylists work there and every client leaves looking simply gorgeous with confidence.

In my own words and personal experience with artistik salon and its employees:i was so nervous to call and schedule the appointment, i did tons of research before booking. when i came to the appointment two guys said hello. one of them introduced himself as albert and the other as jacob. albert told me that my appointment is with jacob, he asked me to have a sit and wait a few minutes and offered me a glass of wine. after about 14 minutes when jacob finished his client he came up to me said hello again smiled and asked me to follow him to his chair. i was so nervous. he sat me and also sat on the chair nearby, turned me and we had a face to face consultation. a nice conversation about my hair and what i want. he gave me a few nice options that i liked and we both agreed on that. after that he asked me to have a sit at the sink and get my hair washed. the woman who washed my hair doesn't speak much english but she was so sweet and gave me a relaxing scalp massage. after about 10 minutes i was back in jacobs chair and he began cutting. OMG! it was magic. albert was involved and they both kept me laughing lol. never did my hair look so good. i will be back!

Loved it here! They order you lunch and serve you drinks (water, wine, tea, etc). Very bright and cool inside. The service from Jacob was A+ five stars. Will definitely be back to him! He listened to me very well and we had a lovely conversation. I had brassy highlights done and needed to get the color corrected. Best hair stylist ever!!!. Jacob is amazing. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that I found him. He saved my hair. The first time I went to see Jacob was when I had gone to another hair stylist which permed and colored my hair without giving me any advice or knowledge of what I was requesting for was not a good idea. After that horrific experience I was afraid to go to another hair stylist, but after reading all the good reviews Jacob has, it made me feel a bit comfortable and had to give it a shot......I decided to schedule an appointment with Jacob which I was scared to do so. My appointment day arrived and I was happy and at the same time nervous, but he made it really easy on me. He explained what was going to be done. He said he was going to cut as much as possible to get rid of the perm and he was going to color my hair blonde and he was going to put some highlights. I thought, after seeing other hair stylist in the past, they told me I wasn't going to be able to get anything done on my hair because it was extremely damaged. But Jacob proved to me that they were wrong. When he was done, my hair felt so soft and had a lot of volume and he cut my hair up to my chin, a wedge bob (my hair was almost up to my waist) I was so happy. From that day on I just go to him. I tell him what I'm looking for and he explains what he's going to do to me, but I just tell him "do what ever you have to do, I trust you with my eyes closed." I highly recommend Jacob, give him a try, you won't regret it!

To be honest this would be my very 1st review on anythin because i really had to take my time out for this i loved the work that much. Jacob is the best i would say. I did balayage few months ago i wanted to change the color which was difficult in one sit. So jacob put some highlights on it and made overall lighter which looks more delicate now. So love with my hair. That was the last experience overall he never dissappoints me. I been doing experiments with my hair for couple of years and a lot i would say. Before coming here, I got a balayage done twice. I paid a lot of money and it never came out good or blended. It was basically just highlights with random brassy patches 1 to 2 inches off of my roots and it would damage my hair so after 7 months, I tried this salon after seeing their Instagram and researching olaplex treatment. They did what they could to minimize the damage done to my hair by the bleach. Jacob, the stylist who did my hair told me to do a different color than the one I initially asked for with olaplex because if I went as light as I wanted, my hair would start breaking. He explained to me what he would do and showed me a picture and the color swatch of the color and told me it would get lighter over time yet it won’t damage my hair. He said we would do shadow roots, balayage highlights, olaplex and toner. It came out so natural looking, soft, shiny and AMAZING. I love it so much. I highly recommend this place. They work hard and it does take a long time but it's 100% worth it. I love my balayage highlights. I love my hair.

I had a pretty positive experience at Artistik hair salon with Jacob for my first time doing balayage highlights. He exhibited care for the health of my hair and made sure that I got what I was looking for. As an Asian it's hard to find a good hair colorist nonetheless avoid being paranoid about getting your hair lightened/bleached without it getting brassy. I usually go to Asian hair stylists but decided to give a salon specializing in balayage a try. Requesting an appointment is pretty straightforward on the website. Someone will get back to you to confirm the appointment. I came in at opening and Jacob greeted me with water, a robe and helped me put away my jacket. Since I sent a reference photo of what I wanted in advance (that I actually took off of their Instagram), he already had a good idea of how to do it and told me it took at least 2 sessions. He walked through what he would be able to do in our first session and I was able to comfortably specify exactly what I wanted. He specifically made a point on what level of developer my hair would be able to tolerate based on my hair. The rest of the session felt like a breeze, he answered my questions on what the process was like, and was able to also give me a deep conditioning mask. The end result was beautifully done, and he made my hair wavy to show the colors better. I could tell that he had great execution skills, he even commented on how much he loved how the color came out. The prices are pretty reasonable given the market prices for balayage in the area with customer service/satisfaction in consideration. Love my hair.

Small, clean, nice contemporary salon. My stylist Jacob did an outstanding work on my highlights correction--I kept going to a local salon near my house and every time I would ask my stylist to make it brighter he would make it yellow and brassy looking plus every time I would walk out of the salon my hair would feel like straw! Not only was the color bad but it also impacted the texture. After visiting Fine Artistik Salon, my hair was the color that I requested and my hair felt soft. AND IT LOOKED SHINY! When I left the salon, while I was in Starbucks line waiting for my order, I got 2 compliments on my hair. Prices are great and online booking is a nice convenience, too. Highly recommend 5 stars!

I've been meaning to write a review about this place for awhile. I had my hair colored and cut here. The person who colored my hair did a great job. It's the owner who I find objectionable. He's a money grubber. When I went to pay the owner charged me for a blow-out in addition to charging me for the color and cut. I did not come to get my hair blown out and styled. I came to get my hair colored and cut. The only way you can see the true result of the color is if they dry your hair and you would think that a blow dry after a cut is part of the deal. I've been getting highlights for about a million years and this is how it's always done. I objected to being charged for the blow-out, he would have none of it, I paid what he said I owed him, I will never go back and am now writing this review. There are SO many places to get your hair done and I suggest that you avoid this place like the plague.

DO NOT GO HERE. The guy here was so rude that I ended up walking out. He kept telling me how "weird" and "strange" my hair was, and how much work it was going to be to make it look good. I had to ask him four times how much it would cost to do what he what he thought was best to make my hair look good. After completely ignoring me the first three times I asked and restating what a disaster my current hair was, he told me it would be about $500. Instead, I went to IGK, was treated with respect, and given the best cut and color of my life. Even if he were to do an amazing job, it wouldn't be worth how rude he was. I would never give that man my money. Also, I don't know what the deal with the reviews for this salon is, but if you look at Yelp, they have 2.5 stars, compared to the 4.8 on google.

I wanted to find a salon that did the best hair extensions in NYC so I searched Google and the internet came up with a few options. My friend back home had great lengths hair extensions so I wanted to find the highest rated salon for those in particular. I had a consultation with a couple of salons but they didn't sound sure but when I came to Fine Artistik Salon and met with Jacob he explained everything to me in details, the process, the maintenance and the after care. He definitely sounded knowledgeable and knew what he was talking about because I was debating between keratin fusion or tape ins. He explained every little detail. Jacob the hair extensions specialist was super knowledgeable with hair extensions in general and especially great lengths. Boy, am I happy I did! We colored my hair into balayage highlights to match the color I wanted and to match the extensions. My hair looks amazing and no one can tell I have them, they just think my hair got way longer since they last saw me (maybe my friends need to pay more attention lol). Most importantly, Jacob is also color and cut specialist and he blended my extensions into a beautiful shape and style. That really made the hair extensions look amazing and I kept receiving compliments all throughout new years eve celebration.

I don't mean to make this sound as an advertisement by Jacob is very professional and knows a lot about hair and hair coloring. At my first visit I noticed how much he cares about preserving the integrity of your hair besides achieving the best results. He's very honest and straightforward when it comes to hair (which is much appreciated). I personally has a disastrous hair color before heading to yelp and Google to research salons that don't only specialized with balayage highlights but also specialized in hair color correction. Jacob won't let you go blonder or lighter when he knows your hair won't be able to handle the pressure. I really appreciate his honesty. His highlights balayage placements is so perfect and the balayage coloring technique is simply astonishing. He as able to lighten my hair and place highlights without causing any damage to my hair. Not only did he make my hair look awesome, he also did the best color correction. And on top of that he provided me with good advise on how to take good care of my hair, and what are the best products to buy. He's one of the best colorist I've ever went to. He knows how to create soft, glossy, natural looks. I won't let anyone except Jacob touch my -now sun kissed, healthy- tresses anymore. Whatever shades of hues you're interested in, Jacob is the man. Healthy, shiny, vibrant hair is attractive and that will never go out of fashion.

I went to Fine Artistik Salon after seeing that it specialized in Ombre Highlights. My hair is really difficult because I had dyed my hair black with permanent hair dye at the last salon I went to and everyone told me that there was really nothing that could be done because color does not lift color. Stuck with black! I went to Fine Artistik and worked with Tomas. He listened to exactly what I wanted and gave me suggestions and then set to work. The whole time he was so pleasant and we laughed and talked the whole time. At the end, I could NOT have been happier with the end result!!!!! He gave me the most beautiful ombre highlights. Better than I even imagined! I left the store actually jumping for joy to be rid of my boring black mess. Definitely, definitely, definitely go here if you are looking for ombre highlights or color! It is the best!!! The hair cut Tomas gave me was great too! Layers to showcase the ombre. It's been about 3 weeks and I'm still getting compliments everyday :)

I have never wrote a passionate review for a business, but my heart and soul will be going into this one. This will be long, but worth reading. The subject matter is a delicate and once very damaged one, my hair. Before coming across this place, I underwent what was probably the worst hair experience of my life. I previously went to a high end salon and paid top dollar to have someone destroy my hair. Bleach under a dryer for 2 hours, enough said. I gave up coloring! My hair was left so fried and frail, I was scared to brush it. Going to the hair salon, something I was loved was now a new phobia. I had to do something about my hair though (I mean we live in NYC, come on). After hours of researching online, carefully examining reviews, I discovered Fine Artistik Salon. I loved the website and called to schedule a consultation. I met with Jacob, who I believe is a true color master, he really did save me. Being that the damaged happened a while back, I explained my situation to Jacob and he assured me that my hair won't get damaged and if anything it will only feel softer and healthier. He used olaplex treatment with his balayage bleaching and he added olaplex into the toner. I have never left a salon so impressed. After my previous disaster, I thought I would have to pull a Britney Spears and shave my head. Jacob truly cares about hair.. I will be working with him in the future. I never thought of myself as a shallow person, but there is something about a woman and her hair. When it was taken away from me, it hurt. Be very cautious about who you trust with your hair and find that right person. Side note, the place is decorated really cool, very relaxing and fun.

This place is the worst worst worst! . You all should check Yelp reviews . I payed over 600 for highlights ( he seriously burned my hair and after charged me crazy amount) since was already dark when job was done didn't see how bad it was in day light and back had some white hair still ! . My hair next day looked so damaged and I really couldn't brush it . Color was orange and had some white, yellow parts too! Not light brown as I asked . I called next day and they offered to put one more time this color for free. Now , few months later after such bad experience and lots of money spend on just burning my hair I had to cut it very very short to finally look normal again. I live just few minutes away from this salon and because of this amazing google reviews was trusting them with my hair . Posting it now so no one else has to experience such nightmare . I lost my long hair and as a model for me my look is everything !

BUYER BEWARE. A disaster. Not only is Jacob rude, and insulting -- he said I "looked like a witch" but he destroyed my hair and when I called him to complain -- he blamed it on me . I called 3X to get a refund so I could get this disaster fixed and he NEVER returned a call. In addition, he did the roots the complete opposite of what I asked for and I had to go to interviews with destroyed hair -- I have had bad haircuts, etc. before but this is the worse of my life and in my opinion, he should seek a new profession. What is not destroyed by his sloppy application of too dark color on my roots is breaking off from his assistant who does not understand English or hair! Take you hard earned money elsewhere -- this guy is a hack!!!!!

Moved from California almost three years ago and I've had a hard time finding the right hair salon. I believe I finally found it. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The stylist I worked with is very talented, Jacob, he was really nice and did an amazing job with my hair coloring and haircut. I called to check if they have same day appointment and they said yes, so I scheduled my appointment. When I arrived it seemed that there were 2 other customers that he was working on but he assured me that it doesn't distract him from focusing on each client and spending the amount of time that is needed on every client and he was right. 2 customers that left before me seemed very happy with their hair. By the time I was done I loved my balayage highlights hair coloring and my haircut. The highlights I was nervous a little and anxious but Jacob told me that everything will be alright and that he wouldn't let me leave the salon if my color wasn't good and if anything went wrong he would continue to work on my hair to achieve the color I wanted. He is a master of balayage! The haircut, I didn't really get much of a cut rather it was more of a refreshing the ends and adding tons of new layers. Definitely going back!!

I have had two services here and I'm very delighted! First was an amazing hair coloring blonde highlights transformation from Jacob. The second was balayage highlights also by Jacob. Both times INLOVE! :) This salon is super hip, chic, low key and fun. All of the staff is super knowledgeable about hair!! The best part is they all communicate and provide best practice and advice for their clients which is great!! Chantel is such a nice person. Fun to chat with :) They sell L'Oréal products because they're not a salon that uses L'Oréal but they are a L'Oréal salon......... I have been going to the fine artistik salon since I moved to the Upper East Side about a year ago. I am very particular about my hair because I typically do out of the box colors: lavender, and newly rose gold. The base layer color is of extreme importance. I am very displeased with my short encounter at Fine Artistik salon. After reading such wonderful reviews about Jacob I was very eager to meet him. I was also very impressed with all the awards the salon has, especially the hair extension awards. I currently have very expensive hair extensions installed so I only wanted someone who had years of expertise in extensions and color to do my color correction. My consultation was for 12pm; I arrived promptly. I introduced myself to Jacob, did not receive a warm welcome at all-more like looks as to what are YOU doing here. Jacob asked me to give him a few minutes as he was wrapping up some highlights. Around 12:10 he asks me if i'm in a rush as he needed to mix some more color for the highlights he was working on. As he heads back to the hair with the additional mix he tells me to sit in the chair next to the client he was working on and says, "I'm going to do your consultation while wrapping up her highlights." I then replied that I did not think that was a good idea 1. because I don't want him to be distracted from coloring someone else's color and 2. I would like his full attention during my consultation. I was insulted that he even suggested this option and it made me feel as if he did not care about my appointment. I had a dentist appt scheduled for 12:30, told him I would come back after but opted not to return as I felt very disrespected. 1. Whether or not I am in a rush is irrelevant. If I make an appt I expect to be seen at that time. 2. I would never ok my stylist to have a consultation while coloring my hair. Again very disappointed that this did not work out as I read such great things about him.

I am very picky when it comes to my hair. I tried a couple of other places but wasn't really satisfied. I even went to the same salon for 2 years and kept explaining to the colorist what I want, for 2 years, she still didn't get it! I decided to go on Google and find a place that specializes in blondes and color correction. Jacob and his salon popped up, so I give this place a try after reading all the great reviews...I have to say that I am sooo happy that I did! I met Jacob and he did a fantastic job on giving me the color that I've been dying to have for years!!!!!! He also did a fabulous job on cutting and styling my hair. He listened to what I wanted and made it happen. He also gave me some great tips to keep my hair healthy! I will only let Jacob color & cut my hair from now on... From ash bleach blonde, with green tint, with weird red lowlights, Jacob made my color perfect shade of dark blonde with honey highlights. The best thing about all of this: my hair is not damaged. He also took photos to post to his instagram. Thank you Jacob! I highly recommend this place!

I have never written a review before, but this was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a salon. I came in to see Jacob 3 weeks before my wedding wanting to update my balayage highlights. I showed him the photo below as a reference for what I wanted (natural looking blonde highlights on my naturally darker hair). Jacob, however, started what ended up being a bleach blonde processing a few inches from my roots, and then coloring the entire length of my hair (this is NOT balayage!). After blow-drying my hair he asked what I thought. I started to say that it was VERY blonde and was told laughingly (what was, I believe, supposed to be good-naturedly), "You want it darker? Don't even start with that!" From the front, the results were very much lighter than I expected, but not alarming. However, he did not show me the back/my full head before moving on to the next client who had been waiting for him. When I got home, I realized that instead of the natural-looking highlights I had asked for, I instead received both the wrong color blonde (Barbie-esque instead of natural) and my entire head bleached instead of balayaged/highlighted as requested. Since he had left some of my natural darker hair at the very top, the end result looked like I bleached my whole head a month ago and it had grown out terribly. When I emailed Jacob to explain my disappointment and frustration, I was told that he had given me exactly what I asked for and that he never saw the photo that I showed for reference (this is an enraging revision of reality). While I appreciate that he offered another appointment for me to come in and have it corrected, my experience was so bad that I would not even consider going back. I did not trust that I would be listened to or that he had the skill to do the correction. I had thought that the outcome was terrible, but it wasn't until I went to a different salon for color correction that I realized just how awful the actual result was and how poorly executed. The stylist charged with correcting my bleached mess of hair pointed out sections of hair that were somehow subtly HORIZONTALLY striped bleached to slightly darker to bleached again. She was mystified about what he had done, and how he had even achieved such a mess. I am disheartened, upset, and angry about my experience at Fine Artistik Salon. Not only was the outcome of my supposed "balayage" treatment awful in look and technique, I also felt unheard, dismissed, pressured, and blamed into accepting something completely different from what I had specifically requested. For reference as to how bad Jacob ruined my hair, see photos below. Also, make sure to check out reviews on other sites since Google's are somehow mostly positive, whereas there is a more accurate 2.5 star rating on another site.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Called and was able to get an appointment the same day, was paired with Jacob. He was fantastic my hair came out exactly how I wanted it. Went with dark brown hair and came out with blonde baliage that look natural, no orange and no damage and I had him trim my hair. We all know that in NYC there are many salons and many stylists but it's not about the salon, I now know it's about the stylist. I have been to many places and my hair has been the entire rainbow and then some. Artistik hair salon is the first place I have been to that actually cares about the quality of your hair and keeping it healthy. Others, in my experience, have done whatever I asked for even if it damaged my hair. Not here! Here I got what I asked for and my hair remained healthy, shiny and beautiful. I got tons of compliments on my baliage and cut. I couldn't be happier. The color Jacob recommended is better than I imagined! There was another client that he was working on at the same time, when she left she was very happy. I knew I was in good hands.

I have found NYC's HAIR DOCTOR!!! That is what I nicknamed Jacob the owner of the salon and the genies behind it all. I had a terrible experience at my salon before coming here, and I should add that it was only 4 days before my wedding. My brown/ blonde balayage hair was toned to dark brown reddish/orange hair. Yikes! Needless to say I was in panic mode when I left and I started googling best salon for color correction and was lucky enough to have found Artistik Salon. I emailed immediately that evening and within minutes I got an apportionment for the very next day. When I got there I was very frazzled to say the least but Jacob put all my worries at ease. We even laughed about it together and said what color is this really? Its just weird. After taking his time to asses and discuss what we were going to do, he worked his magic for 5 hours straight. I should add he has a very good cool, calm and collected energy. Once done, I was happier then I've ever been with my color and had the perfect brown, golden blonde balayage. I could breath again, knowing that my wedding pictures would look like me, only with better hair. I'm so grateful to have found Artistik Salon! Jacob and his staff are super talented and made a stressful situation fun/funny. I especially like that it's a small salon and you get very personalized attention. Worth every dollar and will continue to go back.

I had my appointment with Jacob today at the salon. I called and they were able to accommodate me which is was great. Worked out perfect with my schedule. I have short hair and wasn't sure what I wanted. I previously had long hair which I used to color at home and after I cut it short some of the previous ombre remained but it was brassy red and I needed a change. I spoke with Jacob and told him what I was looking for and that I did not want brassy red orange tones in my hair. He did a balayage highlights with toner. I am in love with my hair!! I was sure how my boyfriend and friends would react but when they saw me they were blown away at how perfectly amazing my hair looked. No random lines, no red brassy colors. Just perfect!! Thank you!! The trip to the salon was well worth it.

My hair was severely damaged from a previous salon. It was bad. I came here due to the wonderful reviews and photos on Instagram. I figured if they can't help me no one can. Wow. I got beautiful results! My hair feels 100% better. We went from blotchy orange roots with chunks of yellow/silver/white/gray highlights to ash brown roots and babylight balayage highlights. Jacob my colorist took his time and offered me several options how we can achieve my color. I could tell he loves what he does because he took his time. Didn't rush. My last hair colorist and I had to part ways and I had to get back onto searching to find a new salon I can trust with my blonde delicate hair. The staff and stylist are all pleasant and cheerful. I booked the appointment with Jacob for partial highlights and tone to fix my last stylist mistakes, Jacob was sweet and his priority was keeping the integrity of my hair as well as meeting my hair needs, my hair is kinda delicate and just with the little he did my hair looked sooo much better! He recommended completely something different which at first I was nervous but he said it will be better for my hair then to always getting highlights and continue bleaching. We did hair color and balayage with olaplex. My hair is AMAZING. The salon is a must for blondes, high end quality salon without the bad attitude that comes with lots of salons. I requested an appointment overnight online and within minutes I got a response! It was so quick and easy to schedule an appointment, it was incredible. Let me begin by saying Jacob did not only get me in the same day for a cut and color correction but also was fun to talk too, friendly, funny and made me feel as it was the right choice to give the salon a chance. He did my color, and did an awesome job explaining step by step what we will do. We darkened my roots, he performed balayage hair coloring mixed with olaplex treatment and at the end we toned the hair. This salon is the best highlights salon in nyc. Because it was my first time going to the salon he even took time to ask about my hair history and everything I got done in the last couple months to be sure not to damage my hair. After coloring I got my haircut by the other stylist there which was very nice, talented and most important understood that I want to keep as much of my length as possible but I certainly needed a trim. I'm very happy with my experience at the Salon, but again want to point out what a great service the salon and its staff provide. The assistant kept offering me beverages and made sure I was comfortable at the washing sinks. They are all so awesome that even paying is fun because you get to chat with them. And the prices are reasonable for New York City. I also love the fact that the salon is a L'Oréal salon.

I was so upset with my hair color because a different salon messed up my color and I was in desperate need of a color correction that the second I left the previous salon I went online and found this amazing salon with talented artists. I called and they were able to accommodate me that same day. They were busy but my colorist Jacob did an amazing job fixing the color (I'm sorry if I was nervous, not your fault) also recommend me some products that would keep my hair color and the condition of my hair healthy.

Jacob does a great job on hair, but he WILL NOT HESITATE TO RIP YOU OFF. After spending $500 on a Keratin treatment and cut (not including tips), he talked me into buying the special keratin shampoo and conditioner from him. He told me the size he sold was the only size the products come in (LIE) and that they would be hard to find (LIE). While I do expect a small markup when buying products at a salon, when I searched online I found he charged me DOUBLE the manufacturer's suggested price. And I was able to get the exact same products for even less than that in multiple places online. When I tried to return the still sealed products they refused to take them back. I told him I felt ripped off and would not return to the salon and would not send other people there. Apparently it is more important to him to get away with gouging people, and he'd rather have his $76 one time for the products (FIFTY DOLLARS more than I paid online). He clearly doesn't care about keeping a client. I have a disgusted taste in my mouth from this experience and just can't imagine going back to that salon again.

Never have I received so many compliments on my hair! Ambitiously went to Jacob with the goal of "rose gold." Jacob totally hit the nail on the head. The mix of the balayage with the subtle pink came together perfectly. Not only did my hair look incredible after his blow out, but the color looks great with my natural curls as well (especially after his nicely layered cut). Could not be more pleased. Incredible!!!! Thanks to google I searched for "best ombre salon nyc" hair color in the New York City area and found Fine Artistik Salon. Not only is my color finally what I wanted but I am loving my haircut too, I am picky, picky, picky! and I never love my haircuts! Jacob gave me a cut to go with my new ombre. The whole look is gorgeous. I am beyond thrilled with my hair!!!! This salon is small but really busy and you feel like you are in NYC. I had a wonderful experience at fine artistik salon today! I googled salons in the Manhattan NYC area that specialize in balayage. I was impressed with the reviews and pictures they had uploaded. So I decided to book an appointment. When I called I spoke directly with Jacob and he was nice, funny and sarcastic which I liked. I have never had color done at a hair salon, so I was really nervous, but Jacob was truly wonderful. He took the time to do a consultation with me, I showed him some pictures of what I had in mind he also gave me his input, we agreed on the color, 2 minutes later he started his magic. He took his time with me, after he was done with the balayage, he kept checking on my color while it was processing. He wanted to make sure my hair would look amazing. When he was done styling my hair and showed me, I almost cried. I gave him a hug. It's EXACTLY what I wanted! Walking out the door I got my first compliment in the parking lot!

I am very picky about my hair, and have yet to find a place that I love since moving to NYC 3 years ago. I can honestly say this place lived up to it's 5-Star reviews! The salon itself is hidden, but so cute inside! Cleaning with high ceilings. The service is outstanding - I booked a last minute appointment for a Friday afternoon for a balayage highlights correction. They said they were pretty busy, but Jacob accommodated me! He is so awesome. He explained the process and that it might take a bit longer because he'll work between clients (I completely understand and told him no worries). He was so sweet and professional! I was looking for a change and felt really comfortable in the salon. He FIXED my hair!!!.. I had nightmare orange highlights with dry hair Jacob offered a full color with balayage highlights and olaplex. My hair felt sooo soft, I felt the difference. I just got blonde highlights and I love it. I've gotten good highlights in the past elsewhere but these highlights are definitely more vibrant! Jacob did my color and trim. Small salon feels very private. The other stylist was also busy and very sweet. Somehow we all were involved in a conversation and no attitude. Felt like a family. Jacob explained everything thoroughly and is also very honest and makes sure you understand how he does things and why, if you want to know. Example whether toner is required or not, what color is best on my natural base and so on. He also uses olaplex and showed me that it was going in the bowl unlike some salons who claim to use it but may not. I got a toner. My hair looks radiant, beautiful and healthy and I love it. Prices are very reasonable too! Very happy with my new sunny look. I've been highlighting for years and these results are lovely! Not too ashy, not too warm, just right!
