Excellent salon, have been going to Sarah monthly for several years. Friendly personnel, clean, neat, and convenient location. A bit pricey yet superior stylists and service. Since this is a busy salon located in the same building as the insanely busy Grove restaurant, parking is at a premium; and, scheduling an appointment around the Grove's peak times can seem impossible. Suggest parking on the other side of Central in the dirt lot and taking your chances trying to cross Central on foot. It's actually safer and less frustrating than trying to park in the lot.

I’ve gone to Rachael forever and every time I’ve gone in she’s been so accommodating. Whether I wanted to go light then back to dark (for the 100th time). I’ve never worried about my hair coming out wrong because every time I’ve gone in with or without an idea it’s come out perfect. And if something were ever to go not as planned Rachael has always gotten me in to fix it or made sure I was 100% satisfied when I left! She’s the best and I recommend her to everyone!

After moving from Chicago to Albuquerque I was lost trying to find a new hairdresser. Thank god I found Lesli and Waves salon! The salon is a lovely space and Lesli is so talented. She turned my straight, dark brown tresses into a vision of spring today! Plus, Lesli is just a great person to chat with for a while. I can't wait to go back for my next appointment!

Just flew to LA to get my hair fixed. Kristin destroyed it with real skill—she did okay with the blonde then I asked for my natural color with highlights and she deposited a dark red black/brown next to platinum. Giant streaks, like Kelly Clarkson in years past. Bizarre. Worst hair color of my life and my hair is fried. Traumatic. Now I will have to work for several months to restore my hair color and the health of my hair. No care or attention to detail just bleach and brown. I don’t understand how she could be so haphazard.

I saw Rachel on the 28th and was completely dissatisfied and disappointed. I was so looking forward to the appointment as my friend went to her and was happy with the result. I brought in a picture of what I wanted done and explained that I wanted the reddish brown out of my hair and a more ashy blonde leaving my roots my natural color. She used the balayage method. She painted the "highlights" on my hair. She left me with the bleach in my hair as she had an appointment in between me and washing the color out. That was completely fine, however she left me for an hour not checking my hair. After she was done with her other client she tended back to me. I could see the brown still under as she only painted the blonde on top of the original highlights I had. I said "should we put more blonde in it?" She said "I know it doesn't look like I did much but it will look good." She washed it out toned it and dryed it, cut it and styled it. She could tell I was disappointed as it looked incredibly similar to how it looked when I came in. She said "we will get it perfect the next time." Why can't we get it perfect this time? Why do I have to pay something twice for something she could have fixed this time. The total was $135 and I tipped her well, which I now regret. I called back after leaving and thinking about it. None of my friends or family noticed I had done anything different to my hair. I talked to the receiptionist who was so incredibly sweet. She scheduled an appointment for the following week to fix it. I then got a call today from another receptionist explaining that she talked to Rachel and it would be "a full paying service." Meaning that I would be paying fully for her to fix it. The receptionist was super apologetic and explained that Rachel owns her own chair there so nobody is in charge of her or her services. I am never someone who complains but I can't believe how inappropriate Rachel's services and then response is. Save your money, don't go to her because if you're not satisfied or even ask DURING the appointment to fix it, it's too bad. The salon is so accommodating but she is not.

I love this hair salon. I used to go to individual stylists that would move from from shop to shop. When my husband introduced me to Mario I was hooked! I knew I had found my place when I asked him to do a Very particular hair style that other stylists had refused to do. Not only did he happily agree, he broke out the scissors and did the layering by eye, old school style! He could have gone on for hours evening every strand out with the intensity he had that day but he stuck to just going 15 minutes over his scheduled time. The hair cut was incredible. You can even go online and book for who you want, what you want and when they have available for that! Though know that the online system occasionally borks up. It's about $$-$$$ depending on what you're having done but know that it is worth it and you will come out looking like you stepped off the cover of a magazine!
