Great environment and staff for kids haircuts. I have a year old who doesn't like to sit still, and the stylists always do a good job making him feel comfortable, and manage to give him a good haircut even with him moving around. Recommended for those with young kids.

NOPE! one of the saddest experiences when we came here and got my sons 1st hair cut! We got over it all since then...hair is hair and grows back duh...it was sad though! Not to mention she wasn't all that nice too! Seemed like we caught her at a bad moment perhaps ....People are people I get it..just seemed like she didn't want to be there. Not sure if that would effect the out come of a hair cut? I definitely think people cutting children's hair should do better! That what we got so will never go back. I sure hope she got some more experience under her belt since then!

We have been coming here for years. We always make an appt with Amber, she's awesome with my boys. I'm giving two stars because the last time we went, Amber wasn't available, but we needed a haircut for my 6 year old. It was butchered, this isn't the first time this has happened when Amber wasn't there. We asked for a 2 on the sides and a trim on top. She did the sides and started the top... But DID NOT fade it .. when I asked her to fade it she said "well I didn't know you wanted that". Seriously?! She attempted to fade it but it was awful. My son came to the waiting area and his hair was butchered. I had to ask her to fix it... She seemed annoyed and rushed. It still looked awful. I had to go home and have my husband fix it instead. I think Amber is the only competent stylist. But I doubt we will ever be back. Management didn't care, and the customer service the last few times has been awful. Most of the staff just seems annoyed lately. I'm paying 20+ dollars for a kids haircut to deal with unkind staff and leave with butchered hair anyway.

I'm sorry, but....I have only ever trusted this place for my baby boy. There was a scheduling conflict, completely my misunderstanding! I thought I booked for today but when i got there I was told my appointment was actually Sunday. Unfortunately we cant make it on Sunday. My bad there. I told the RUDE GIRL AT THE FRONT DESK, LACKING OF SOCIAL SKILLS, LET ALONE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS that I misunderstood and I was sorry were there any openings today at all? Without even looking I get a "no, you scheduled your appointment for Sunday, not today". Well...Genius....I think we already established that and OBVIOUSLY it was a mistake or I wouldnt have dragged my two toddlers in here just for giggles. The stylists have always done a stellar job but it's not worth it when you have to try to get through the lack of intelligence at the front desk.

They used to be a good place and I'm not sure what happened but I won't be taking my boys here any longer. 2 bad experiences is enough for me. After reading everyone's complaints about this place, it looks like it's gone downhill the last few months. I wish Amber would move places to somewhere where they are more competent and friendly at the front. She was the only reason why we went here. Now to find a new place.

I took my 2 boys (8yr & 19 month old) to get haircuts. I'm giving the shop 2 stars because of the cute novelty of it. It is very kid friendly. But if you are looking for a good haircut, this is not the place. They chopped my toddler's hair up, there where uneven cuts, I had to have her try and smooth it out. They missed a bunch of spots too. My 8 yr old's was okay. Again I had to have her clean it up in some areas and the girl ended up cutting herself! I definitely don't recommend this place and we will not be going back. Also, my toddler refused to sit in the cute little car and I ended up holding him on my lap anyways.

Our first time here was awesome we will be coming back. Aurora took care of both my girls and my youngest is 22 months old. She is patient with kids. She did a French braid for my oldest and pig tails for my youngest. They have little car, plaines, and a train as seats!!! The best part is that they ask your child to pick what seat they want! You can also buy toys here at their mini shop.

So I will say I was pleased with how my daughters front braid came out, although my sons braids came out within just one day- not even making to his Birthday party with his hair fully done. This was his first time but maybe taking a little more time would’ve got the job done right. Instead of rushing. Fussy or not. They did seem to have patience but Quality work is preferred.

Bethany did my sons first hair cut! She was amazing, went slow told me what we could expect, super sweet to my son and he had a runny nose cause we aren’t from here and she even wiped his nose!! The front staff wasn’t very pleasant or professional but I am very please with the outcome of his hair cut and how special it was with the keepsake for me and one for my parents!

Wish they took card not just cash but overall it was great. They were nice, they braided my twin daughter's hair for free, we got to choose the seat they could sit on, and they had a TV going so the kids could be a little distracted and not worry about what was being done with their hair. Some kids can be frightened. We will definitely be going back. I hope they stay in business for a long time. In a quiet part of town and not very many people there at the time.

Just got my kiddos hair cut at shear madness, and I couldn't be happier! My two year old got her hair trimmed and did fantastic! She even French braided her hair after the cut! I'm pretty particular with my 6 year olds hair and Bethany didn't seem to mind and really gave him a cut I liked. Thank you guys so much!

Been to several girls birthday parties here. Such an adorable experience, however, the place is very small to fit a birthday party and customers have to pass by the party area to use the restroom which felt a little cramped. Karaoke, tattoos, and polish are all jammed into one corner. There is no room for adults because the party table just allows room for the kids so adults are in the way, blocking the entrances to the wash station and restroom. Also a customer kept allowing her child join in on our friend's party; there really is no division between customers and birthday party go-ers which is quite disruptive for both parties. We just experienced the bday experience, no haircuts. I would not host a bday here if your child or yourself can't handle cramped spaces. I leave this place highly stressed each time due to how small, noisy and hot it can get.

The stylists here are very good with my son. Well priced with enough distraction to get my child with sensory issues through an experience he doesn't look forward to. I have had bad experiences elsewhere, but have always been pleased with this staff. They are made for and prepared for children.

Took my daughter for a diva day. And the whole time I felt like they were rushing to get her out of there. My daughter didn’t even get to pick how she wanted her hair. The lady just made a her a braid because it was the quickest thing for her to do to get her out. It would have been a lot nicer if the staff wouldn’t have made it so obvious that they were just trying to rush.

Called to make an appointment got in the same day! Took my 2yo who has had bad experiences at previous hair dressers and they were so kind. Eva (not sure if I spelled her name right) was his stylist and she was so sweet to him. She just went with the flow when he would move suddenly or he would want to hold my hand or lay his head on my chest. She explained everything she was using to him and that the clippers wouldn't hurt. She cut his hair just the way I wanted it and asked before putting jell in his hair. I'm definitely going back.

Went in for a trim for my daughter before her 7th birthday. There were 3 stylists just sitting there and no clients. They tried to tell my wife and I that they were fully booked and couldn't fit us in and were noticeably rude to us. It wasn't until we began calling other stylists that they decided they could "fit us in". No body showed up for a haircut for at least 20 more minutes. Once our girl was on the chair my wife informed the stylist of how she wanted the hair to be trimmed and the known hair calics that our daughter has. The stylist completely ignored her and now our daughter now has crooked bangs. Like very bad. Not to mention that she tapered the left and right sides to completely different lengths. Even our 7 year old daughter looked in the mirror and said "this doesn't look right". The whole time she was getting her hair cut the stylist had a very poor attitude and seemed like she didn't even want to be there. Cost us a pretty penny to get it fixed by a real professional. My wife and I felt discriminated against to be completely honest, I'm disabled in a wheelchair and she has darker skin. From the minute we walked in we felt that we weren't wanted there. Unacceptable. Will not return, will not recommend. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra couple bucks somewhere else.

We took our 11 month old son to Shear Madness recently to get his first haircut done. The experience was fantastic. The stylist was very patient with him, was great at keeping him distracted enough to cut his hair, and was very personable. Our son did not get fussy or angry the entire time due to the way she approached cutting his hair, and the end result of the appointment was excellent and we love his haircut. Great place to take small children.

I had my birthday girl who turned 3 excited for her diva day only to receive a call exactly 2 hours before her scheduled appointment that they were unable to keep her appointment. Apparently the online booking screwed the appointment slot and I was able to schedule it during a birthday party. My 3 year old was so upset because this was all we had been talking about for the past week. We were able to still have a diva day in the chair not in the back and still had to pay full price even though she didn't get to go to the back due to the birthday party. I was upset because had she had the full experience I think it would've made a huge difference for her.

Today we took our son back for a haircut, the stylist we got (amber) didnt give my son the same experience what so ever.. And the haircut he recieved wasnt at all what we had in mind( uneven, patchy). She rushed through it, and was a little rude. It makes me change my original thoughts on this place.

Wasn’t sure what to expect as this was my daughters first ever haircut, that being said I was hoping for a memorable experience. We arrived in a busy and colorful salon, were not greeted upon entry, then we waited to check in. As we approached the receptionist she didn’t seem to pay any mind to us, much less greet us with a hello. I then proceeded to give my name and appointment time, she agreed to check us in. Afterwards, we waited 15 minutes beyond our scheduled appointment time before being called back. We informed the stylist that it was my daughters first haircut, with very little response much less enthusiasm the stylist seated us, my daughters hair was trimmed in less than 5 minutes and we paid $17 for the entire experience. Quite a rip off. At least we got some pictures with our cell phone.

My 3yo and her friend (also 3yo) has their first haircut today. I would like to start off by saying...our hairdresser (Karla) was fantastic! Karla was engaged with our child and is the entire time and gave our daughter the treatment we expected!! So why the poor rating? Our friend’s daughter had a poor experience. The 3yo was nervous and shyly crying at the beginning. Her hairdresser was acting rushed and bothered by your 3 yo customer. Isn’t this supposed to be a place for children? The two side-by-side experiences were night and day! We felt bad for our friend and her little girl. Their hairdresser rushed off to her next customer (during our scheduled time). She hardly engaged with the child or mother. This is a poor reflection on the entire business. I would suggest inquiring whether or not your hairdressers like children during the interview process. I hope if our friend decides to return, that she and her daughter have a better customer experience. We do want to thank Karla for our positive experience.

Extremely livid with my experience with this place. We will not be going back. I scheduled an appointment for my 14-month-old to have his hair cut and was turned away due to being 7 minutes late. We traveled all the way from the East Mountains to get there too. I was told that our appointment was given to the next person since we were late and they only allow 15 minutes for each appointment. I asked if there were any other times and the receptionist told me no and we would have to reschedule for a different day. We then asked if we could wait and maybe be squeezed in, but apparently they wouldn't have enough stylists available because one of them was about to leave for the day. She had no solution. We decided to wait regardless to see if the appointment was a no show considering they didn't wait long for us maybe we'd get lucky. Well, the next appointment did show up but over 10 minutes late and they kindly checked them in! This was our second experience with them. The first time we arrived on time and had to wait almost 30 minutes to be seen since they were running behind. Our appointment was rushed and the cut was not very good (my son sat still). This was our second attempt here since we liked the kid friendly atmosphere. My big problem as a paying customer is if we had to wait for them then why could they not be with patient with us? I don't understand how this is a childrens hair salon and they do not have leeway to parents! Babies are unpredictable and delays happen. I also do not understand why she couldn't just ask the other stylist if she would do another cut before leaving. We would have tipped extremely well for her time. We ended up walking across the street to the salon I think called Aveda. They were so nice and fit us in right away. It may not have been a "kids" salon, but they were kind, gave a great hair cut and they all were extremely patient with our Son. I highly recommend!

I have been taking my kids to Shear Madness for years and have never had any issues. They love the options of chairs (which has a variety for different ages and both girls and boys), the choices in TV options, and the staff has always been very friendly. They keep all my son's information on record so he can get the same cut he wants every time. I love the inexpensive options for braids, colors, etc. that make the haircut even more special for that day. We will continue to patronize this location as we always leave happy!

This place is so cute inside. There's tons of toys for purchase all around you as soon as you walk in. Little cars and airplanes for the kids to sit in. Our hairstylist trimmed our 2 year old son's hair and did an amazing job and stayed so patient with him as he was screaming and crying the entire time. She gave him a sucker, a little stretchy bracelet, cleaned the hair's off him when she was all finished. Came out to $17 before the tip and I thought it was 100% worth it. I'll definitely be coming back.

All of the stylists are very nice, attentive and move with your child (versus trying to make them sit completed still). All of the toys, fun cars to sit in and TV channels offer a great amount of entertainment and distraction. Today, I cut my youngest son's hair for the time (Bethany-highly recommended), but have been a customer with my older son for a couple of years. We will continue to come here for the boy's hair needs until they are too cool to sit on the cop car :)

New in town and saw this place on Facebook and thought it might be a fun place to treat my daughter and I for cuts. Got home, one side of my bangs are touching my eyebrow one is way above. Too short to fix now, and flying to visit my family in a week to celebrate our birthdays and Christmas. Had to take scissors to my kids bangs, chunks of long ones left over. The staff was friendly, but I won't be going back. The friendliness bought it up to a 2 star, but the cut, being the important part, I would have it rated a 1 star.

If I could give zero stars I would. In the two years we have gone to this place, only twice have my boys gotten good haircuts. Unfortunately, those two hairstylists left. Usually the cuts end up being tolerable to total butcher job. This last visit was the last straw for us. Both of the boys hair look awful, with their bangs looking like she stuck a bowl on their head and cut around it. We will not be coming back. I wish they would hire more competent hairstylists.

Shear Madness was great with my 10mo for his first haircut. They took their time and when he started to get a little fussy they paused a bit to let him recover. We made an appointment the day before and they got us in right on time. Other children getting their haircut seemed to be enjoying their experience also.

Always have a great experience. Took our first daughter for her school cut and our second daughter for her first hair cut. Even though busy, they were very great and understanding for our daughters and our requests. Highly recommend for first timers and active kiddos. This place is cute and the chairs are adorable along with a nice movie idea while kids get their haircut but these "stylists" are a complete joke. There is no professionalism and these girls that cut hair look like they just signed up for beauty school and are using these kids as practice. My daughter hasn't stopped crying after her hair was just butchered by one of the girls who did not listen to what was asked of her in length of hair. My daughter doesn't even want to go to school but I guess we will have to do ponytails for a while until the uneven layers get fixed by a real professional....

Honestly this place would be amazing to take your kids to get a haircut but for my son (he's autistic) this was such a bad idea. I thought he would like it and there were so many amazing reviews but for us it was unfortunately a bad experience. I think just because he has really bad sensory issues and they don't use the quiet Clippers for kids with sensory issues. It was too loud for him in there too with the hair dryers and the TVs. So he ended up getting a bad haircut. But the ladies there are really nice and it's not their fault. It is very difficult to cut my son's hair.

She made sure to chat with him and include me in decisions about his cut. All the staff was very friendly so I’m not sure why there are so many reviews saying the staff is cold. Everyone was smiling and interacting with the children and parents. Very pleasant experience! I was super happy to see that even after a good tip the hair cut was less then what Jungle Cuts quoted me. I will be back!

I've taken my kids to this place and recommended this place for years and I've always had the best experiences.The girl at the front desk even remembered my momentous ( mix of sad/shock/happy) time when my son cut his longer hair off. It truly was a complete transformation and it's special that she remembered it, with as many kids as she sees in between our visits. I do appreciate it and thank you! Amber, who had the pleasure of that time wasn't as much, but it's not really their job to be, I guess. The turn over is pretty regular, but they hire some pretty talented and patient people. Unfortunately, today's experience was a horrible experience with the stylist Amber. We have had her before and I have watched her trim my son's hair and today it was just a trim on the sides and she showed me that maybe a quarter inch off the top, max. She left him 1" on top, while I was entertaining my toddler in the waiting area. This is the haircut pic I showed her that my son wanted to try( the guy model pic below). I asked if she could achieve this look and of course she said yes, ( the staff I've had here are truly talented).The only real difference between this haircut and my son's was my son's sides needed to be shorter, before and after pictures below. You can judge by the pics below, my son has pretty long hair on top, but she seems to have completely disregarded what we agreed to. Instead she trimmed the top to 1" at most! She didn't peek around the wall and ask me if she could take a couple inches off his top ( I would have said absolutely not) and those decisions weren't hers to make. I really hope it was just that one stylist. I've never had a problem with any stylist there asking me before changing anything.

This is by far the best most welcoming place for kids I’ve been to! My two year old first hair cut and she is usually not very friendly with others but her hairstylist Bethany was so great and patient with her! She always gave some great tips for her curly hair to take home! Her hair came out amazing and perfect! I will definitely come back

I'm struggling a bit with how many stars to give them because the salon itself is a nice place, but our experience wasn't all that great. We went to get our 6 year old a haircut to, essentially, test out the place before taking our difficult, uncooperative toddler in for a first cut. Amber was the stylist and although she didn't do anything wrong per se, it was a disappointing experience. She spent barely any time with him (DEFINITELY less than 10 minutes) and did so in near complete silence. She was not very welcoming, friendly, or personable and was either having a not-so-great day or she doesn't particularly like working with kids. She didn't try to chit chat with him at all, or us, and took about a second to glance at our inspiration picture. His cut didn't turn out the way we wanted/asked or; the way it was in the picture she didn't look at. She asked what we were doing to his hair, she asked what movie he wanted to watch and what car he wanted to sit in, and asked if he wanted gel in his hair and that was literally it. It was just mechanical and impersonal. If there were other similar places like this around town, our experience would keep me from returning to Shear Madness. It wasn't fun for our child, it wasn't special, it wasn't worth our time or money.

People were nice enough and the woman that cut my daughter's hair was very patient with the squeaking from the pedals on the chairs, but she didn't so much as smile and seemed like a factory worker. Pretty overpriced, too. $17 and whatever change for a trim. That's too high of a price for me to go back there.

Amber completely butched my 7 year old child's hair today. We wanted to keep it longer & mainly just trimmed (and tamed in the back where it tends to get bed headish) but she had a completely different idea of her own... His bangs are crooked, his swirl is cut so short it sticks up (which she called Alfalfa), and it's now not long enough to wear it the way he wants to. She spent barely any time on him and was rushed even though we were 25 minutes early for his appointment! So sad because this would be a really neat place to take kids. Needless to say we wont be coming back.

Very nice people, patient with kids and has a great atmosphere for them. Kinda far from where we live but I feel it's worth it since my daughter let's them work on her hair.

Went there on Friday to get my son's haircut. Its choppy and the lady who cut his hair left a big bald patch on the side. Same lady left it choppy the time before. I decided to try to give her a second chance and now it looks awful! I'm ship displeased with this place...

Thet are good with kids. My son is difficult when it comes to cut his hair but they were able to do it. The chairs are nice, they are car, train, police motorcycles which kids love.

Amber was amazing! It was my 4 yo sons first time to a hair salon and he was nervous for weeks! Finally, after showing him the pictures on the website, he was excited! He picked the chair (choo-choo train) and Amber didn't waste anytime, realizing the window with these wiggle toddlers is narrow. My sons haircut looks great, he listened to Smber and the Paw Patrol and lollipop were a nice touch!

Extremely overpriced for the little bit of hair they cut from my granddaughters head. The receptionist was not very personable. My granddaughter enjoyed the toys and sunglasses in the waiting area, as well as having her choice of cool themed chairs to sit in and kids movies to watch once it was her turn for a haircut. The hairdresser was super nice and patient. Overall, it's just too expensive.

My kids do not like getting hair cuts. This place takes the attention off the haircut. They have cartoons on, and it's just a fun looking place to be in. Make an appointment as they stay busy! Quick hair cuts, in a and out with the appointment made.
