The entire team at Kabeyo is amazing. True professionals, thorough and talented. I reached out to Rafa early last year for a sponsorship to assist me in styling Miss United States. We toured all summer and everyone of the contestants were extremely pleased with their looks. Since then I have recommended family and friends to the salon and they too are always ecstatic with the end result. We recently partnered with the New Mexico Cancer Center and Kabeyo hosted a surprise party for two of the patients and 2 daughters. I'm grateful for his assistant Amanda who helped me coordinate the entire event. He gave them complimentary hair cuts, color and styles for their photo shoot and was able to accommodate everyone and made sure everything ran smoothly. Its always a great feeling working along side someone who has a heart as big as his. I'm happy to see how much the salon has grown within the last year and am excited to see what the future holds for them. Thank you Rafa and your team for your personalized service and hard work. It was my first time visiting the studio. I was greeted warmly and offered a refreshment while I waited for Rafael (only a few minutes). The studio is beautifully decorated and clean. Rafael not only gave me a meticulously perfect haircut, but he gave me pointers on how to style my hair and even beard. I highly recommend Kabeyo!

Adán has always been our family friend and hair expert. He was my “Ili’s”, like he calls her, hair expert since she had her first haircut. My daughter’s bestie, besides the fact that he fixed her hair from a disastrous mistake left by a “supuestamente maestra del arte del cabello - será de las muñecas de práctica porque a mi hija la dejó horrible” and she waited a long two plus hours list for a young man that she didn’t know but in her heart and gut knew that he could help her. I have been a client of Kabeyo Salon (Rafa) for more than 7 years and have never had a bad experience. Rafa is the only stylist ( in NM and CO) who utilizes the appropriate technique when it comes to cutting and coloring my hair. Rather than applying a generic method to cut hair, Rafa listens to what you would like and reviews options with you based on your hair type, something you rarely find in a stylist. I have been to many stylists here in NM and CO and can honestly say that he has the best interests of his clients and pours his heart into every cut and color he does.

I was a client for 5 years and my arrangements for hair and makeup (which I made in October, 8 months prior to the wedding) were completely ruined. There was a string of schedule changes before ultimately making it impossible for me to rely on his services. First we scheduled a trial run for my hair and makeup 2 months in advance, I work a lot of weekends so I had to arrange my schedule carefully to use a whole Saturday afternoon. The morning of this appointment Rafa called to cancel, he said there was a last minute family emergency; later his assistant accidentally revealed that he had started planning the "emergency" that Monday. I had to push my schedule around the next weekend to fit a trial in before the wedding. On the day of that appointment he tried to reschedule to an earlier start time when I had already explained that I was working right up to when I could go in; then his makeup artist acted like he was accommodating my tardiness. For the wedding, I was originally scheduled for hair and makeup at my hotel with touch ups. He changed these arrangements so that I had to go to the salon, I tried to be understanding about this since he is a small business and agreed to the change. But after that everything went further downhill. I had a terrible time getting a hold of him. I finally felt like I needed to show up at the shop to confirm the time for my appointment. We originally set the appointment for 3pm for hair and makeup, then 6:30 for touchups and touch-ups after ceremony at 7:45. None of this was ever written down! I was scheduled for some family photos starting at 5 pm- He ultimately tried to schedule hair and makeup for 5 pm the week of the wedding. When I heard this voicemail I took advantage of my emergency backup plan to use A different salon and this was 2 days before the wedding. I called Rafa back, and not surprisingly, had to leave a message to cancel the appointment. He didn't return my call until the next day when he tried to say he could actually fit me in at 3, but by then I was sure he wasn't going to show up for touchups and I couldn't stand how he completely blew off our arrangements and at such a late date. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed with this experience. I was a 5 year client who was completely taken for granted. I had recommended Rafa to at least 4 or 5 friends who used his services, I had bragged about him for years. If he treated me this way, I don't know how a new client's bridal experience would go. I worked really hard to remain friendly and not sweat the small stuff, after all if I was going to go to him on my wedding day I didn't want a revenge updo disaster. I never complained until he moved the appointment to 5 pm and at that point there was no point in complaining, I just had to cancel.

Rafe cancelled the day before the wedding! Bride and 4 bridesmaids had to scramble to find someone to do hair and makeup in the middle of the night. Terribly unprofessional and rude. Groom had to fight for the deposit back the night before the wedding, while his bride cried at the hotel. Rafe was confrontational and unapologetic, and had no remorse for almost single handedly ruining a beautiful wedding day.
