** Update Carleen has been repeatedly texting me for the last hour (boy she sure saw this review quick) asking me to remove the review, threatening to ban me from the other 10 curly hair stylists in Reno she has trained over the years, and sending me creepy stalker screenshots of my own business. Stay tuned for more folks... see the screenshots below. I'm white text and Carleen is in green.
- In direct to response to to Owner's reply. I posted this review because I spent a lot of time communicating with you and then Jessi, and then driving from Truckee to Reno this morning, only to be told last minute the stylist you recommended was on her way to Sacramento, giving me 40 minutes advance notice of the cancellation. If I was a business owner, I would want to know if the people I am referring business to are taking good care of my clients. So I did exactly that, let you know what happened.
I texted back and forth with Carleen, she says she is booked a year in advance and only taking clients that are from referrals from her other clients. Ok, business is great, I get that. But I wish you had put this on your website, so I didn't have to text back and forth with you trying to figure out if I can get an appointment or not. It seems Carleen has invented a screening process for haircut clients, and you must be willing to schedule several haircuts a year in advance and spend a certain amount of money to become a client. Which is fine, whatever I'll pay the $$$ money, I just need a good haircut. Carleen recommends 2 other stylists that she has trained. They don't have websites after I google them, but i figure it's fine I will give them a try because they know what they are doing with curly hair, so it's worth the wait. I text back and forth with the other stylists. Jessi replies back that she has a last minute cancellation for tomorrow (4th of July) and after several exchanges back and forth, Jessi finally agrees "that I'm the right type of client and we can work together". Our appointment was at noon today, and after texting her trying to get the address to the salon, she texts me back that she forgot it was 4th of July today and she is on her way to Sacramento. It's now 40 minutes before the start of our appointment. I delayed my own holiday plans for this appointment, staying in Reno an extra day for this elusive haircut. I sent a text to Carleen to let her know that the stylist she has trained and recommended just dropped me like a hot potato and didn't even give me a text or a call this morning to cancel. She texted back that Jessi has her own independent business, no apology or acknowledgement that this shouldn't have happened. While I'm not mad at Jessi, I get that life happens and we double book ourselves on accident sometimes, I did feel if you are new to Reno area and are not a current client and you're trying to book a haircut for your curly hair, perhaps you should try elsewhere.
