High quality salon just like out of a movie. The atmosphere is a nice change to the norm and something you're more akin to find in say Colorado, being set in an old firehouse. The staff is nice and after two visits I am more happy with my hair than I have been in quite some time. Prices are a bit on the higher end but you pay for quality and it's worth it.

AMAZING. I have never dyed my hair but had the sudden impulse to go from my natural midnight black to a wonderful grey. Niki Becker made this possible. She was attentive and considerate of my scalp. I have gotten great comments and i owe it all to her. If you want a job well done check out "A Salon 7". Nobody was rude and the customer service was KickAss!. She is my new Hairdresser. :) -Danknee

I showed up with my older cousin trying to get a hair cut. We were running late coming from Tahoe but called the salon ahead to let them know. They informed us to hurry over to see if we could still make it with enough time to go threw with the appointment. When we showed up, I ran inside only 8 minutes late. The barber "Richie" then informed us we were too late and that he would not see me. I began rescheduling with lela while my cousin talked with Richie. Riche then asked my cousin if he would like to "step out" to handle things. Sketchy as this sounded we left trying not to make a scene. Richie kicked us out then followed my cousin into the road and threatened to punch him in the face. Most of the staff followed us outside to watch instead of trying to calm their barber. BY FAR THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WITH AN "INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STYLIST." Wasting 3 hrs. of our time was enough. . .we really didnt need to be chased out to our car by Oakland's angriest Santa Claus. The owner has blatantly lied by stating I was 17 minutes late, I was 8 minutes late. . .and I can prove it. Plus, they knew I was coming from Tahoe. I guess I'm not surprised they are willing to lie to protect their reputation.

The people there are definitely talented, but their attitude is off. I was late to my appointment, and that’s my fault. But when I got there, the stylist I was seeing didn’t even approach me. She sent the receptionist over to tell me I had to reschedule. When I asked to reschedule, she said the stylist would be booked for the next year. That seems a little far fetched to me. Why tell me to reschedule then? When I asked to see another stylist (because I’m not planning on waiting a year to get my hair done), the receptionist said she would have to ask my stylist—essential for permission for me to book with someone else. She said she would call me back. So, I left. The stylist eventually texted me to tell me that if I’m late, I have to reschedule. She said she was sorry she didn’t talk with me in person. I found her text message a little off-putting, passive aggressive and kind of stand-offish. If she’s sorry she didn’t talk to me in person, then why not just approach me when I was there? I had no idea the policy was to re-book another appointment if you’re late. And although I admit I should have called to let her know I was late (as she pointed out in her text), she could have called, too. Or at least text me to let me know that if I’m late, that I’ll have to book another appointment. I live in northwest Reno near Mae Ann and McCarran. It was a little upsetting to drive all the way down just to be greeted in a less than friendly manner and then get turned away. I understand it’s a business, but I still believe in at least being friendly to your paying clients about it. I have yet to run into an attitude like that at other salons, even if I’m a little late. And I have yet to receive a call back from that receptionist to book an appointment with another stylist. I will be taking my money elsewhere. Any other recommendations?

Front desk girl was very rude and told me they do not do walk ins and they are not accepting New clients, not even asking any of the nail techs which were all by the way without one customer and all just talking. Wow. Ill never go there again. Customer service at its worst!

Originally I arrived as a walk in , and I was greeted almost immediately , and welcomed ,however due to high traffic I was offered an appointment in the most timely and reasonable manner, the receptionist (I missed her name) was super friendly and accommodating, and overall very pleasant to interact with! She found me an Amazing stylist (Audrey) who did the most FAnTASTIC cut at a very affordable and reasonable price! I have searched for a quality salon and stylist for over 4 years and none came close to my old favorite back in California until NOW ! I am so glad I found this place! I will DEFINITELY be returning! The vibe was amazing, the people were awesome and Salons of this quality are hard to come by!

I booked an appointment for a bayalage with Kailee, she had super reasonable prices and really took her time with the bayalage. It turned out amazing! She even stayed late after hours to finish my hair and even though she was there past closing time she still took her time to finish my hair, she was super sweet and was very honest about what was possible with my hair. SaraSue is amazing!!!! She fixed my hair color from a do it yourself horror story to beautiful. She really saved the day for me by fixing my mistake before I had to go to work. Not only is she a god send with hair color she cleaned up my over grown shaggy hair. I will be going to her for now on for all my beauty needs. Fyi she does permit brows along with all your hair care needs.

I had payed over $200 for my hair to not even come out the color i wanted and for it to come out completely damaged. I came in to dye my hair grey, I was told that it could be done and my hair came out green. I had very long hair and due to damage, I had to chop it all off at a different salon to even get it remotely healthy. Wouldn’t recommend.

Do NOT go to this place. I went in to get a monthly hair cut and have tried many many places before stopping here. The guy I had took about an hour for a simple hair cut. He made my neck and scalp very red by his aggressive combing and cutting. I asked him for a simple cut and he left it sparsed and uneven, especially my ear lines!!! Ugh hate it!

Bad customer service. This is my first time here and i will never come back. My stylist is Audrey. She is young and not very professional in terms of communicating with client. After she put color on my hair, she did not tell me how long i need to wait and what she is going to do with my hair. The chair is not comfortable when she washed my hair. The water is cold and she did not check with my whether the temperature was ok. When she cut my hair, she told me not to cross my leg without a reason. Now i know why she need to charge less compared with other stylists there.

It is always a joy to find those businesses that are local, funky, friendly, and excel at what they offer. I've been getting my hair done there since the previous location, but I must say the converted firehouse locale is such a great fit for this unique salon. Thanks to the amazing work of Jason Reid, frequent compliments on my hair have become a normal part of my life whenever I'm out and about. Jason and the rest of the stylists there have an amazing knack when it comes to giving their clients a look that is both really 'pulled together' and yet interesting and edgy. They rock at what they do, from wild cuts and vibrant colors that will make you feel like a punk god or goddess, to hair that looks good enough for the cover of a classy fashion magazine. Also, you've gotta love a business that uses their anniversay party every year as a fundraiser for local causes! And that's in addition to all the other fundraising they do throughout the year to help various local organizations and individuals in need. I have so much appreciation for this salon and the talented, passionate, and generous people that make it what it is.

I came to this salon after an attempt to bleach my hair left it a bit orange/blonde at the root which faded to a medium brown/red at the tips. The receptionist was very friendly and attentive so I came in for a consultation with one of the stylists who looked at my hair and discussed what we needed to do to get it the rest of the way to where I wanted it. She was clear that it may need one or two more treatments to get the rest of the color out and achieve blonde hair, but she was not sure if we could do it in one day or if we would need to split the treatments depending on the condition of my hair after the first treatment and how well it took to the process. After some insistence on needing an idea on the price, she quoted me $117.00 to about around $250.00 depending on how my hair took to the bleach. Since my hair was still in pretty good condition and we were in agreement as to what was needed and the price, I booked an appointment with her for the next day. The next day, I showed up for the appointment and sat in her chair while she prepped my hair for the treatment when she stated that she needed a second opinion and left to find another stylist. That is when hell pretty much broke loose. The second opinion stylist come over and the two stylists decided that they wanted to color my hair back to brown then begin bleaching it a little bit at a time until I was blonde again, but they would put blonde highlights in the front so I could feel better about it by seeing some blonde. When I made it clear that I did not want to go back to brown as I felt it was counterproductive and would require more treatments to achieve the goal, they made it clear that I did not really have a choice. I would either go brown or go home (not their exact words, but that was the gist). As my options were limited, I asked how much this new plan would cost and (after more hesitancy to list a price) was informed the new plan would cost upwards of $800.00. I immediately informed them that I did not believe my husband would be okay with paying that much to bleach my hair back to blonde at which the second opinion stylist basically stated that I should tell him to go screw himself though I cannot recall the exact words she used. At this point I let them know that I did not have that kind of money to spend on that treatment and would rather go with the original plan, but was informed that having nice hair is expensive and they are a high end salon and they are sure I can find somebody cheap elsewhere. Sadly, this was not even nearly the most abrasive thing that was said to me. By this point I was almost in tears from the sudden spike in price, change of plans, disregard for what I wanted and rude comments so I contacted another hair dresser I am familiar with to get another opinion and was informed that going back to brown was, in fact, counter productive and would be more stress on my hair as it would increase the amount of treatments needed to go blonde. In the end I left with my orange hair intact and feeling very belittled, ashamed and humiliated. Not only did I look a bit foolish due to my hair mistake, but now I felt foolish from the way I was treated and by being told that I pretty much cannot afford to have my nice blonde hair back because I am not okay with the bait and switch situation I got sucked into. In all honestly, the first stylist was not derogatory or rude, but her disregard for everything we discussed and her decision to quadruple the price 24 hours after we had a consultation left a pretty poor taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, it is nothing compared to how crass and tactless the second stylist was. I can only hope that others do not have to suffer the same humiliation that I felt today.

I went here last summer for cut and color and was not very happy. She didn't completely ruin my hair or anything, but she took far longer then she should have (almost 4 hours!!) and didn't tell me until the end that she only took cash, meaning I had to run to ATM, further wasting my day away. My hair turned out ok, it was a bit sloppy around the roots and several shades lighter then the color we had picked out. I suspect she didn't use the correct toner. When I next went to color my hair, the color had trouble taking because the previous time it had been colored, it was bleached too much. It was definitely not worth what I was charged but I wanted to get out of there so badly I didn't complain much to her. Maybe some of the other stylists are better, but I won't be returning here.

Salon 7 stylist Kadybeth did a phenomenal job on my haircut! Not only did she do a great job with the trim but my hair was styled wonderfully. She also gave me great new tips on how to keep up with my particular type of hair. The art in the salon only makes the experience all the better and the the stylist are all friendly as well as helpful. Had i had a Facebook i would have defiantly posted before and after pictures of my hair because the end result was amazing! Haircuts at salon 7 are great, I strongly recommend Kadybeth!

It had been a while since I had anything done to my hair so I thought I’d treat myself with going to one of the highest rated salons in Reno for a trim and lowlights. They were booked out 2 weeks in advance and sent me multiple text messages to confirm I would make it to the appointment- I liked the reassurance and sense of security that this provided. The day of my appointment arrives, I get to the salon right on time and am told to wait in the seating area, which is normal. As time went on I noticed other clients walking in, waiting less than 5 minutes, then having their stylist come get them and take them back. I started to grow a little restless but just assumed my stylist was working with someone else so I continued to be patient. I waited for 45 minutes before the desk clerk approached me and asked if the stylist I’d set up an appointment with had texted or called me. As I don’t know her on a personal level and I already told them the time of my appointment, I thought that was a really stupid question. I said no and she proceeds to tell me that the stylist ISN’T EVEN AT THE SALON. My jaw dropped. She then says they would continue to try to reach her and “see what they could do” Once I’d been waiting an hour, I left. I then went to Great Clips and had a much more pleasant experience. I think overall this is probably a great place, but avoid setting up an appointment with Nikki Russ. She is clearly extremely unreliable and has completely ruined this experience for me. I will never step foot back in Jensen & Co ever again.

To no surprise they all lied. My sister in law suggested her life long friend Carly to me. Just by talking to Carly I could tell she knew what she was doing. This was my first, and last time at this place. Janis was the person that I went to and I think that she was fresh out of beauty school, the haircut is awful! She cut my bangs to be like an inch long, I asked that they just cover my eyebrows, the rest of my hair looks VERY choppy. All this on top of the fact that I had my hair washed in cold water, she said it was common around there. All I can say if you don't care what your hair looks like, like a lot of the employees that work there, then go. Otherwise I would suggest that you find somewhere that is not for graduating beauty school students.
