Jenny is my stylist, but ALL the stylists here are wonderful! How many salons can you say that about? I always look forward to my appointments because all of the stylists are welcoming, professional and so knowledgeable! The patrons are also friendly--a good sign that they are happy customers!

I went to Afton at Pink Flamingo for a trim and colour after seeing her reviews online. I had healthy, short, black hair and I asked for ombre/ balyage highlights. I explained to her that I wanted a blonde ombre but without the harsh difference in colour, therefore more of a colour melt. I wanted to go more blonde over time. I also informed her that I had ombre before and my hair was very orange so I would like to avoid that as much as possible but I understood that going light might make it impossible to avoid that scenario. She acted as though she understood. After 2 hours of colouring and washing my hair she shows me the final result and there was no colour in my hair- it looked exactly the same as before and she was going to let me walk out of there like that so I reluctantly mentioned that I don't see any difference. Afton agreed and made a different mix. When she was done, there were definitely some bronzy streaks in my hair. At that point I was in that salon for more than 5 hours and I just wanted to leave so I tipped her generously and left. I went home and was very disappointed. I had bronze streaks throughout the top of my head that made me look like a 90s soccer mom! Some streaks were thin while others were very thick- overall looked terrible. I ended up going to a salon in Omaha for colour correction 2 days later! While Afton did do a good job on the haircut, she is definitely not someone I would go to for any colouring services! The ladies at Pink Flamingo seemed very nice. In the time I was there I noticed they all compliment all the clients on how great their hair looked after their appointment (regardless if it looked good or not). It seemed like this salon would appeal to an older crowd who didn't want to try anything new with their hair- they can do the basic jobs alright. But for the prices, not worth risking the health or beauty of your hair.

Best place in Lincoln! Afton is the best stylist I’ve ever seen. She’s been doing my hair for six years and she never disappoints. Sometimes I just don’t know what I want, so we talk through options and she helps me come to a decision. She’s always going to classes to learn new techniques, so I’ve had some pretty amazing colors that I didn’t even know existed. I love that I can be honest and say, no I don’t like that idea and she’s never offended, we can talk and I always leave super pleased. I’d recommend her to anyone (and actually, 3 of my best friends see her so I’m telling the truth :)

I never have writtne a review of a service but this was the worst hair dye I've gotten and I had to share. I wanted light brown and needed my hair lightened, but all she did was put dye over my dark brown hair and accused me of not having virgin hair multiple times. After dying my hair (it being the same color) dye gunk was left on my scalp after the wash and then she said she doesn't feel comfortable dying my hair due to its texture and darkness...after already dying my hair. It was dyed by Jenny. Luckily I didn't pay for the bad dye but payed $30 for the trim. It was just rude and ruined my hair and day.

What a find! I had worked with one of the stylists to help us as we were coming into Lincoln for a wedding from out of town and needed help getting our hair ready for the occasion. I was able to book back-to-back appointments for myself and my daughter. On top of that good fortune, the owner, Jenny, was able to put my makeup on for me for the wedding. I couldn't ask for a more gracious stylist with the sole focus of making us feel pretty. Thank you Pink Flamingo for making us beautiful!

I had six months of growing my hair out... I wanted a shape up. NO length cut off. She was shown a picture, said she understood... Then.. She butchered my hair. BIG TIME. No. Don't go there. Run Forrest, Run. I even got a refund from the owner. Not enough for me to not care about half a year of growing my hair, all the awkward stages, hats, etc. Definite no on this.

My first visit I was given a great haircut and received full treatment (shampoo, scalp massage, cut and style) for my $30. When I went back for a trim I was rushed through, my hair was rinsed, was cut way too short and was not styled, I did get the scalp massage. I was still charged the full price. Not sure I want to go back....but I will need a trim soon.

All the staff were very attentive and friendly but one was over the top amazing! It's not often that you come across a salon in Lincoln that also has a massage therapist on staff. Jorden was awesome! She is friendly and extremely talented. I've had many massages and she was the first to really release the tension and work away the knots in my neck and shoulders. My husband had a full body massage and was very impressed with the work Jorden did on his sciatic nerve pain. Seriously think its worth getting your hair done and then relaxing with a massage!

Afton has been styling my hair for almost 6 years, and she truly is the best! Whether it's a beautifully subtle color, a vintage-style special occasion look, or gently reminding me that I always regret bangs... Afton is 10/10 every time. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail are apparent in every cut and color. She also hones her considerable talent by continuing her education, traveling for classes that will help her serve her clients even better. The salon is welcoming and inviting, in addition to being the only remaining place to buy Aveda products in Lincoln. I look forward to every visit!

I went to get my hair cut and colored and it turned out completely different from what I wanted. My hair stylist Lorraine is fantastic at cutting hair but unfortunately unskilled at dying hair. The first day I went in for a balayage and I even brought a reference picture so there would be no confusion. She quickly glanced over the reference and proceeded to dye my hair. The dye went all the way to my roots and at the end of the process my whole head was orange! Nothing close to a balayage at all. It was a disaster. I scheduled another appointment the next day to fix my hair and it ended up taking 2 extra trips to get the final result and it still was not even close to what I wanted. The second trip she completely dyed my hair back to almost my original hair color and then scheduled me my third appointment. On the third trip, instead of a balayage, she took the dye almost to my roots again, and after examining the back of my hair to see the attempt at a balayage I came to discover a part of my hair not even fading to my original hair color. It was just a harsh straight line of blonde in my hair. I was disappointed at the result and my healthy hair is now damaged due to excessive dying and redying. I had high hopes for this salon as I have heard so many good things about Aveda salons.
