Haven't been here in a while. The first time, Arlan gave me a really good haircut and was great to talk to, so I went back. The second time, the haircut was alright, but he forgot to even up the side burns (honest mistake if it rarely happens), but the conversation was awkward. The third time, he was on the phone most of the time and the cut was bad. I think the reviews being all over the place is because that is how the service is. Hopefully it has improved since I last went, but I won't try it again myself.

First time to the shop and it's already my favorite barber I've been to. As soon as I sat in the chair, Arlan had my haircut before I had my mouth opened, knew exactly what I was going to ask for. You'll feel right at home here and expect some great conversation. Can't recommend enough.

Worst cut I have ever had, I needed to go to another barber to finsh/correct his cut. He took 5 minutes to cut my hair, was on the phone the entire time ordering food, his kids were running in and out of the store and he cut my ear with his clippers. Don't go to this guy. The barber I want to after even told me it was one of the worst cuts he had ever seen.

I enjoy a clean, sharp looking haircut that I have not been able to get from places like sports clips, great clips etc... Naturally I looked for barber shops in the Omaha area and it seems Arlan's had the best reviews - They are true! Today was my first time in and I got the sharpest haircut I have had in a long time. I could tell from just one visit that Arlan is very skilled and knows what he is doing. It also has that classic Barber Shop feel - great conversation the whole time (opposed to those annoying conversations you have at salons that almost feel like a chore). If you preferred not to talk, I'm sure you could politely ask Arlan and he would just get to your cut. He's all business and a professional at cutting hair. Arlan is a consummate professional, and his shop reflects it. The barbershop is spotless, and aesthetically pleasing. Although I would suggest you call ahead and make an appointment, spending twenty to thirty minutes in the shop waiting for your turn in the chair, and contributing to the barbershop banter is a far cry from the drudgery inflicted on customers in most shop's waiting rooms. Arlan himself showcases a genuine appreciation for his customers in everything from the standard small-talk, to grooming tips, tricks, and how-to's. It is obvious Arlan knows what he's doing, and that he wants his customers to know as well. The haircut itself quickly becomes a collaborative piece--rather than a standardized buzz ordered off some menu. After so many "fast-food" style haircut joints it comes as pleasant surprise that Arlan's barbershop can turn what I too often see as a chore into something worth looking forward to.

I am a barber. I called to ask if there is any open chairs for another barber to come in and work at this establishment. He answered the phone by sayin yeah? The man asked me if I wanted educated in how to ask professionally, proceeded to tell me if I want a hair cut then I can call. If I want a job then you don't call him. You must walk in and talk to him and then I'd get my answer...he was rude and not how a barber should talk to anyone. Said he has been a barber foe 30 years.... I don't believe a man that's worked 30 years as a barber would ever treat a stranger that wants to make him money the way he did. He is a 30 year old joke who is need of a retirement.

Arlan gives an amazing haircut. I had an idea of a look and Arlan did it after I told him 1 thing. Very professional, great story teller, and a very upbeat individual. If your military, I strongly suggest you go for the 10% discount. If you ask to listen or turn the channel on the TV, he will. Request a song, he probably has it and will play it on a great system. Truly, this is the best place I've ever been for a haircut.

Rude, disorganized. I made an appointment earlier in the day for 6:30. I arrived at 6:28 to a closed shop, and Arlan having no record of a 6:30 appointment or any memory of our conversation earlier. With the phone held next to his ear, as it had been the whole time, he began to sweep up the hair from his last customer, while he gabbed on about the nonsense of his day. Apparently I stood too close as to be offensive, which prompted him to put the phone temporarily to his chest as I for the first time received his full attention. "Can't you see I'm cleaning here?" he yelled. Yes, sir. Clearly. Don't mind me. I imagine had I stayed, so too would the phone have stayed next to his ear the whole time.

Great place for a barber shave. Not just a lather, scrape and out. Several steps with skin cleaners, hot towels, lather, razor shave, some face “detailing”, facial massage. Worth the time and the $s. I get a barber shave around my birthday, just for a treat and Arlans will be a return spot for me.

I walked in for a hair cut, it was rushed and sloppy. He straight edged my neckline, wiped it with a dry rag and failed to apply aftershave. He rushed me out of the seat to pay as his next client who had an appointment walked in. He may be able to proved quality service on his terms, but it is apparent that he lacks integrity, service before self, and excellence in all he dose.
